AbstractTo master complex skills, it is important to practice regularly and to form a mental model of the strived-for skills. If you know for which mastery level you are striving and can mirror performances against this benchmark with help of others, then you can focus on practicing deficient sub-skills to become a ‘master’. Although regular and structured practice is indispensable, secondary schools do often not facilitate this in daily educational practice. We expected that a technology-enhanced formative assessment method with analytic rubrics could support both mental model formation as well as regular practice of students’ skills. However, we further hypothesized that text-based analytic rubrics offer limited capacity to convey contextualized, procedural, time-related and observable behavioral aspects of a complex skill, thus restricting the construction of a rich mental model. We expected that using video-enhanced rubrics, an integration of analytic rubrics with video modeling examples, within a technology-enhanced formative assessment method would lead to a ‘richer’ mental model, improved feedback quality and positive growth in skills performance. Therefore, various stakeholders jointly developed and tested the Viewbrics technology-enhanced formative assessment method with (video-enhanced) rubrics for three generic complex skills, namely presenting, collaborating and information literacy. The Viewbrics method was then piloted by means of a quasi-experimental design (video-enhanced or textual rubric condition and a control group) in 6 classes in two secondary schools. Results show that the structured technology-enhanced formative assessment method had a positive effect on both mental model growth as well as on skills’ mastery levels of students. This effect was independent of the used rubric format (textual or video-enhanced).

Three derivational processes compete in the formation of Italian denominal verbs: suffixation, conversion and parasynthesis. The rivalry between these processes goes back to the early history of the Italian language. Based on the analysis of an original dataset, this chapter aims to offer a comprehensive overview of denominal verb formation in Italian from a diachronic perspective. The results of a macro-level analysis concern the availability of nouns to form verbs, the distribution of the competing verbalising processes over different diachronic stages, a comparative overview of the meanings encoded by each process, and the competition between synonymous verbs formed by means of different processes from a same noun. A micro-level analysis outlines the productivity of the specific derivational means expressing each process. The data suggest a higher differentiation of the processes over time, along with their enduring vitality, a decreased abundance of verbs derived from the same noun, and a recent growth in the employment of suffixation, which, however, does not coincide with a significant decline in the resort to either of the other two processes.

Abstract:
Cet chapitre compare deux réformes menées en France pour adapter l’enseignement supérieur et lui permettre d’intégrer l’enseignement des transitions sociétales dans son offre d’enseignement. Le premier exemple est celui de l’enseignement de la transition écologique où est développé une approche par les compétences pour sensibiliser l’ensemble des étudiants français à ce nouveau défi de nos sociétés contemporaines. Le second exemple s’intéresse au déploiement d’enseignements relatifs à la transition digitale. La démarche adoptée est inductive et repose sur des expérimentations ayant vocation à être généralisées par la suite. Ces deux exemples illustrent la capacité du système universitaire français à évoluer pour s’adapter aux défis de demain. Conclusion, on peut dire que le système universitaire français s’adapte aux changements du monde et à la nécessité de développer de nouveaux programmes de formation.

Le rôle de la langue française dans le commerce régional et international et la promotion du tourisme : évaluation des avantages pour l’Ouganda pendant la pandémie de Covid-19 et l’ère numérique La présente étude examine les principaux obstacles que rencontrent le secteur du commerce et du tourisme ougandais sur le marché francophone pendant la pandémie de Covid-19 et à l’ère numérique. L’objectif est de déterminer l’importance de la langue française pour les entreprises ougandaises et le secteur du tourisme et de l’hôtellerie sur le marché mondial. L’étude s’appuie sur une base de littérature large et diversifiée afin d’indiquer la valeur de l’apprentissage d’une langue étrangère, la manière dont une telle formation peut être utilisée et plusieurs autres considérations fondamentales relatives à la langue et à l’emploi en Ouganda. Des données ont été recueillies à partir d’une enquête par sondage auprès des entreprises en Ouganda afin de déterminer l’importance de la connaissance de la langue et de la culture françaises pour les entreprises souhaitant apparaître sur le marché francophone. Sur la base des résultats, il est recommandé que le français devienne un élément essentiel du plan stratégique de l’Ouganda. Le français est nécessaire pour une participation efficace au régionalisme et à l’internationalisme. Le multilinguisme offre un avantage concurrentiel sur le marché du travail actuel.
