Abstract:
Waterless offset doesn't use dampening solution, so it has the advantage of color saturation that the water offset can not reach. Monomer is an important component of the UV waterless offset ink; it has great influence on the performances of ink. Ink samples were made separately by using different monomers. The flow curve, thixotropy crack index, surface tension, gloss, curing speed and other performance parameters of the ink samples were tested, and the influence of different kinds of monomer on the performance of ink was analysised. The results show that the viscosity of monomer affects the viscosity of ink sample directly; six monomers we used have good curing speed; the lowest surface tension can be got when using monomer with single functionality; and six ink samples have large thixotropy. The result of the compound EOEOEA, TPGDA and TMPTA is 0∶3∶7 by using the functionality design principle.

Abstract:
Four kinds of monomers were chosen to prepare ink to research the effect of monomer on the ink transfer performance of UV waterless offset and improve the printing quality. The rheological properties such as viscosity, yield value, thixotropy and stickiness were tested and the ink transfer equation was built, the ink transfer rate was calculated and the effect of monomer on the ink transfer performance was analyzed through the ink transfer experiment. The research results show that the type of monomers has large impact on the rheological properties of UV waterless offset, so the ink transfer performances with different kinds of monomers are different. And the viscosity, thixotropy, yield value and stickiness of the ink with TPGDA and EOEOEA are little, the ink transfer performance is better.

Abstract:
In order to control the temperature of the ink, a cooling roller is used to cool down the temperature of the blanket cylinder. The calculation of the heat transfer on cooling roller is divided into two parts: One part is the exchange heat with the air through the cooling roller and the blanket cylinder, the other part is the heat conduction of the cooling roller and the blanket cylinder on the contact area. The heat conduction on the contact area is divided into the thermal conductivity generated by the friction and the heat conduction from blanket to the cooling roller.

Abstract:
In order to observe the influence of monomer on the printing quality of UV waterless offset ink, ink samples with different monomer were made, and the main performance parameters such as viscosity, thixotropy, yield value, fluidity and stickiness were tested. Proofing by printability tester, and the printing qualities such as solid density, gloss, dot gain and print contrast were tested. Analyzing the influence of the difference of ink performance that caused by monomer on the printing quality of UV waterless ink. The results show that ink performances affect the printing quality directly. The differences of monomer’s structure and functionality have great effect on ink’s performance such as viscosity, thixotropy, yield value, fluidity and stickiness, and it can lead to the difference of printing quality such as solid density, gloss, dot gain, and print contrast.

Abstract:
In order to investigate the effects of fillers on the transfer properties of UV waterless offset ink, four ink samples compound with different fillers(SiO2 , CaCO3 and Talc) were prepared, the flow curve, thixotropy and ink transferred ratio were tested, and the effects of rheological properties on ink-transfer were discussed. The results show that: all of four ink samples show a typical shear thinning characteristics. Sample use SiO2 and CaCO3 as fillers has a higher viscosity, and with the increase of shearing rate, the viscosity decreased sharply. Sample use SiO2 and CaCO3 as fillers has the minimum thixotropic area, and the minimum thixotropy. Sample use SiO2 and Talc as fillers has the largest thixotropic area, and the largest thixotropy. Sample use SiO2 and CaCO3 as fillers has the highest ink transfer ratio.

The results show that the rheological properties influence the printing quality directly. The higher the viscosity of ink is, the bigger the thixotropy is, and the smaller the fluidity is. Abstract:

Lin, Wha-Hwat, and 林華發. "An Investigation of Print Quality Attributes Differences between Domestic and Japan Waterless Offset CD Printing Machines." Thesis, 2006. http://ndltd.ncl.edu.tw/handle/39060595024295131849.

Abstract:
碩士<br>國立臺灣藝術大學<br>應用媒體藝術研究所<br>94<br>In the past, domestic Compact Disc manufacturers use imported waterless offset CD printing machine for CD decorating. Nowadays several domestic CD printing manufacturers begin to mass produce similar equipments, and their technologies have become matured because of the pressing demand of the market. Their prices and after-sale services are even more competitive than other manufacturers. The only missing part here is that they lack the standard test against their self-developed and manufactured waterless offset CD printing machines. Therefore, the objective of this research is to analyze the quality and printing attributes differences of industrially commonly adopted waterless offset CD printing machines HA-OC-6, GFS-1001, and H-7 manufactured by Taiwan and Japan using experiments. In the study film output from originals in digital form are used. After the process of plate making, 100 CDs were printed from each printing machines, and 50 CDs were systematically sampled from each set of the 100 CDs. For data collection, we use X-Rite530 (Spectrodensitometer) to measure data on halftone dot area, solid ink density, print contract percentage, trapping percentage, hue error percentage, grayness percentage and the L*a*b*value from a specific area on CD. The data gathered are recorded and used in the analysis of printing attributes using statistical software. The result of the study indicates that result produced by HA-OC-6 has the least dot gain, and the most serious Y, M, C, K colored dot gain occurred when dot reproduction at the 40% halftone dots (between 30% and 50%). For print contrast, HA-OC-6 produces results with the highest percentage of print contrast; and GFS-1001 produces best trapping. Moreover, using the one-way ANOVA to test the hypothesis of the study result, the p value are all 0.000 < α=0.05 (significant level), which indicates that in the performance of duplication of halftone dots, print contrast and trapping, at least one among the pairs HA-OC-6 and GFS-1001, HA-OC-6 and H-7, and GFS-1001 and H-7 has significant differences. We expected the result of the study can be provided to CD-related manufacturers (including CD manufacturers and waterless offset CD printing machine manufacturers) to fully comprehend the print attributes differences of domestic and imported waterless offset CD printing machine. So that manufacturers can use the study result for investment evaluation, decision base for printing machines, to control and improve print quality, and promoting the performance of printing machines.
