Suito, Hisashi. "Current Status of Postseismic Deformation Following the 2011 Tohoku-Oki Earthquake." Journal of Disaster Research 13, no. 3 (June 1, 2018): 503–10. http://dx.doi.org/10.20965/jdr.2018.p0503.

Abstract:
Postseismic deformation following the 2011 Tohoku-Oki earthquake has been observed by the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) Earth Observation Network System (GEONET) and the Seafloor Geodetic Observation (SGO) over the past six and half years. Observed deformation at onshore sites exceeds 140 cm horizontally, there is uplift of 50 cm, and deformation tends eastward. However, offshore sites reveal complex patterns ranging from near-zero deformation in the northern part of Iwate-Oki, to westward in the southern part of Iwate-Oki, Miyagi-Oki, and the northern part of Fukushima-Oki regions, and eastward in the southern part of Fukushima-Oki and Ibaraki-Oki regions, respectively. The vertical deformation pattern is more complex than the horizontal. Offshore sites demonstrate subsidence but a large uplift is observed onshore along the Pacific coast. Subsidence is only observed along the Pacific coast in the northern part of Iwate, where there are variations in uplift or subsidence patterns. Many previous 2011 Tohoku-Oki event studies have used a primary model that considers only the afterslip effect. However, westward displacements observed by the SGO highlight the importance of viscoelastic relaxation, even during short-term deformation. It is thus considered that studies on postseismic deformation following the 2011 Tohoku-Oki earthquake should adopt a combined afterslip and viscoelastic model. Postseismic deformation following this event is estimated to continue for more than a few decades; therefore, assessing this effect is crucial for interpreting crustal deformation in Japan. Information on the status of interplate coupling or slip is also vital when assessing earthquake occurrence probability. The continued observation of postseismic deformation and careful monitoring of temporal and spatial changes in interplate coupling or slip will mitigate hazards from successive large megathrust earthquakes and improve understanding of crustal activity in Japan.

Abstract:

Abstract:
At 10.17 pm on the evening of 12 July 1993 an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 occurred in the Sea of Japan off the south west coast of Hokkaido, the most northerly of the Japanese islands. The earthquake was located at a depth of 34 km with its epicentre about 55 km from the west coast of Hokkaido and some 75 km north of the small offshore island of Okushiri, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA). At this point the depth of water is estimated to be 3500 m. The location of the earthquake is shown in Figure 1. The earthquake caused extensive damage and loss of life on Okushiri Island and to a lesser extent on the Hokkaido mainland. Some loss of life and damage was reported on the Russian Pacific coast and in addition fishing boats were lost off the east coast of South Korea. Most of the damage and loss of life was caused by tsunamis generated by the earthquake. In addition major ground damage consisting principally of liquefaction, rockslides and landslides occurred in southern Hokkaido and on Okushiri Island. The damage to structures as a direct result of ground shaking was minimal apart from the collapse of a recently completed snow shelter over a road on Okushiri. Most damage to structures occurred as a result of ground damage. After reviewing reports of damage received from Japan and after seeking information from people in the region, the NZNSEE decided to despatch a reconnaissance team to investigate the earthquake and to identify lessons of value to New Zealand. From the early reports it appeared that the areas of particular interest would be ground damage, damage to lifelines, fire following earthquake and tsunami, performance of time houses and the effects of tsunami. Accordingly, a team of four members of the Society spent eight days in Japan during late July observing the effects of the earthquake. Two days were taken up with briefings at universities in Tokyo and Sapporo on the latest situation in the damaged region and six days were spent in the field. The aim of this Preliminary Report is to provide readers of the Bulletin with up-to-date first-hand information on the event and a brief account of the initial impressions of team members. A detailed Final Report will be published in the December issue of the Bulletin.

Abstract:
Sebagai langkah awal, Indonesia perlu segera meratifikasi perjanjian Trade Preferential System of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (TPS-OIC). Since the establishment of Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) in 1969, the level of economic cooperation among its 57 member-countries has been limited, indicated by the low portion of intra-trade and intra-investment among the OIC members and their relatively slow growth. This study discusses the dynamic economic cooperation between Indonesia and the OIC members. Further, it analyzes the prospect of OIC economic liberalization and its potential impacts on the Indonesian economy. It uses secondary data and employs the standard of General Trade Analysis Project (GTAP) model. It shows that the OIC economic liberalization potentially had varying sectoral impacts on Indonesian economy, which was particularly shown by macroeconomic variables (such as economic growth and inflation), industrial output, and trade. Furthermore, Indonesia and other OIC members would obtain optimum benefits when full liberalization is applied.

Abstract:
Stunting prevalence (5-12 years) is 34.4% which is the highest number in the NTB region compared to 10 other regencies / cities (NTB Province average of 14.9%) (Riskesdas, 2013). Fish Kelor Opak (OKI) is one of the traditional foods that can be strived to reduce Stunting (very short) in nutrient-prone groups in North Lombok Regency. In the three years of Health Intervention Research, problems still arise that quite disturb the sustainability of OKI consumption. There are not yet many traditional Opak craftsmen who produce Fish Kelor Opac (OKI) because of the ability of the craftsmen to provide raw materials and need modification of the materials, so that people like it. The purpose of this study was to modify Fish Moringa Opaque and its effects on stunting children. Descriptive observational method with emphasis on making Moringa Fish Opaque with different fish ingredients. The best products are given to children stunting. The results showed that modified Fish Opaque Moringa was made which had better taste, shape and texture than before. There is a difference in BB in children with stunting + OKI (P1) before and intervention is 2.07 kg, compared to P0 of 0.56 kg and There is a difference in TB in children with stunting + OKI (P1) before and after the intervention of 0.54 cm compared to P0 of 0.4 cm.

Abstract:
3075 Background: OKI-179 is a novel, oral pro-drug analog of largazole, a compound in the romidepsin-depsipeptide class of natural products. OKI-006, the active metabolite of OKI-179, inhibits HDAC 1,2,3 (IC50 = 1.2, 2.4, 2.0 nM, respectively), with no significant inhibition of Class IIa HDACs and has shown promising activity in preclinical models of solid tumors. We conducted a first-in-human dose escalation study of OKI-179 in patients with advanced solid tumors. Methods: Patients with advanced solid tumors, ECOG ≤1, normal QTc, and disease refractory to or with no available standard therapy options were treated with OKI-179 with either intermittent dosing (once daily for 4 days on 3 days off) or continuous dosing (once daily). Dose escalation was conducted using a standard 3+3 design. Pharmacokinetic (PK) and pharmacodynamic (PD) testing was performed at various time points after dosing. Results: As of Feb 4, 2021, 26 patients (19 female, 7 male) were enrolled with mean age of 63 (range 41-83). Patients received a median of 5 (range 1-11) prior lines of therapy and most common tumor types included pancreatic (N = 5), breast (N = 4), lung (N = 4), and ovarian cancer (N = 4). Twenty patients were treated in intermittent dosing cohorts from 30-450 mg. One DLT (Grade 2 [G2] thrombocytopenia) occurred in the 450 mg cohort which was expanded to 6 patients without subsequent DLTs. Six patients were treated in 2 continuous dosing cohorts of 200 mg and 300 mg. Two of 3 patients in the 300 mg cohort had DLTs of G3-4 thrombocytopenia and no DLTs were observed in 3 patients treated at 200 mg PO daily. The most common adverse events (AEs) were nausea (62%), fatigue (42%), anemia (39%), anorexia (27%), and vomiting (23%). These AE’s were G1-2 except for G3 anemia (12%), G3 fatigue (12%), and G3 anorexia (4%). No other G4-5 treatment-related AEs occurred. Median time on study was 79 days and best response was stable disease (SD) in 10 of 24 patients evaluable for efficacy (42%). Prolonged SD was observed in patients with platinum-resistant serous ovarian cancer (446 days) and adenoid cystic nasopharyngeal carcinoma (256 days). OKI-006 achieved consistent exposure with Cmax > 2,000 ng/ml and AUC > 8,000 hr*ng/ml, well above the targeted exposure for efficacy based on pre-clinical studies in murine models. Tmax was 2 hours and T1/2 was 6-8 hours. OKI-179 treatment resulted in > 3X increased T cell histone H3K9 and H3K27 acetylation within circulating PBMCs at doses of 180 - 450 mg. Conclusions: OKI-179 has a manageable safety profile, with thrombocytopenia being the on-target DLT. It has a favorable PK profile and demonstrated on-target PD effects at tolerable doses. The MTD and RP2D for OKI-179 was 450 mg daily for intermittent dosing and 200 mg daily for continuous dosing. Phase 2 studies are being designed, with a focus on combination with endocrine therapy in ER+ breast cancer and in NRAS-mutant melanoma. Clinical trial information: NCT03931681.

Abstract:
This study aims to examine the impact of macroeconomic factors such as Inflation, Exchange Rates, Total Labor Force, Technology, Worldwide Government and Trade Openness on International Trade in 10 Islamic countries as the main actors of international trade Intra-OKI from 2005 to 2018. Quantitative research This applies the Panel Data Regression method to the Fixed Effect Model. Research analysis techniques use the EViews 10. software program. Empirical results show that inflation and total labor force, government effectiveness and trade openness have a significant positive effect to Intra-OKI international trade. This means that the better the quality of worldwide government and trade openness in a country will increase the country's international trade activities. In addition, exchange rates and technology do not have a significant effect in Intra-OKI international trade.

Abstract:
Abstract: The only causal treatment for the allergic diseases is the allergen immunotherapy. Besides oral and injection forms, an epicutaneous form is known as well. During the immunization process the use of an adjuvant material is advisable besides the allergen. That adjuvant material can be (besides of the aluminium hydroxid and tyrosine) a bacterial toxin, too. In idealistic circumstances we can substitute the native allergen with its recombinant variant, which could keep its immunogenicity but had lost the allergenicity. In the future the recommended therapy could be the safe, painless, epicutaneous hyposensitization, with recombinant allergens, with bacterial toxin as adjuvants. Orv Hetil. 2017; 158(23): 895–899.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Abstract We analyzed the seismic waves of the 1994 Sanriku-Haruka-Oki earthquake (Mw = 7.7), which occurred in the aftershock area of the 1968 Tokachi-Oki earthquake (Mw = 8.2). Applying a multiple-time window inversion scheme to near-source strong-motion data, we obtained a detailed spatiotemporal rupture process and compared it with that of the Tokachi-Oki earthquake. The fault geometry is constructed based on the aftershock distribution. The obtained rupture model is consistent with the CMT solution even for a non-double-couple component. The total seismic moment is 4.0 × 1020 N-m. Large slips are concentrated in three asperities: the first asperity centers about 40 km south and 50 km west from the hypocenter with a maximum slip of 4.4 m, the second one centers about 60 km west from the hypocenter with a maximum slip of 2.2 m, and the third one lies about 110 km west from the hypocenter with a maximum slip of 2.6 m. The obtained moment rate and the duration on the first and second asperities are lower and much longer than those on the third asperity, respectively. The first asperity does not overlap with an area of large slip during the Tokachi-Oki earthquake, but the second or third seem to overlap with or be adjacent to the asperity of the Tokachi-Oki earthquake. Our inversion result also shows an abrupt change of the rupture velocity (from 1.8 to 3.0 km/sec) at the central part of the fault plane. A difference of the seismic coupling between the oceanic and the continental lithospheres at the trenchward side and at the landward side of the 143° E meridian seems to affect the rupture process of this earthquake.

Abstract:
Ulleung Island, a large stratovolcano, is located in the western part of the Japan Sea (East Sea), 130 km off the eastern coast of the Korean Peninsula. The Ulleung-Oki (U-Oki) is a widely distributed tephra in and around the Japan Sea, and has an age of 10.7 cal ka BP obtained from the Lake Suigetsu data set (central Japan). Of the 7 tephra layers (U-7 to -1) on the island, the pumiceous U-4, U-3, and U-2 tephra layers are petrochemically and petrographically similar to the U-Oki tephra. To determine the eruption ages of 3 tephra layers on Ulleung Island, we conducted radiocarbon dating for 5 soil and 2 charcoal samples. Although the soil samples have the C/N ratios from 5 to 10, the obtained 14C dates are still consistent with the tephra stratigraphy of the island. The calibrated 14C dates for the U-4, U-3, and U-2 tephras are 11 cal ka BP, 8.3 or 9 cal ka BP, and 5.6 cal ka BP, respectively, indicating that the explosive eruptions occurred in the island with a time interval of 2000 to 3000 yr during the period of the early to middle Holocene. Based on our chronology, the U-4 tephra is most likely correlated with the U-Oki tephra.
