The thesis deals with integral and distributed optical fiber sensors of electric current. In the area of integral sensors the analysis is performed by Jones matrix calculus and the simultaneous influence of induced circular and undesired linear birefringence using an ortho-conjugation retroreflector. Agriculture is the largest consumer of water in the United States. Policies that affect agriculture therefore have the potential to have a large effect on the overall use of water. Crop insurance is one such policy, which was found to significantly increase water use in the state of Texas. In this thesis we respond to the chalrenge posed to the Church and the Academy by some of the 'Signs of our Times'; in particular Postmodemism, Deconstruction and the Narrative Identity of the Subject. In pursuing a genealogical hermeneutic through various fields of discourse we discover emerging Postmodemism(s) that are characterised by a sense of mourning for a lost metanarrative and a tension between an impulse towards narrative and an anti-narrative impulse. Usually okra appears during the summer at farmers markets and specialty health stores. Okra is a rich source of many nutrients, including fiber. This article outlines the nutritional benefits of okra and provides tips for how to select, store, and cook okra as well as how to grow okra in your home garden. Two of our favorite cooking methods – roasting and sautéing okra are introduced.
