La symbiose plastidiale, particulierement developpee dans le groupe des cilies planctoniques strombidiidae (oligotrichina), est analysee sous divers aspects: morphologie, biologie, cytophysiologie, ecologie et evolution. Elle est comparee au cas des autres protozoaires plastidies (foraminiferes, heliozoaires) et d'invertebres, les mollusques sacoglosses, qui maintiennent egalement des plastes fonctionnels.
