Sociologist, historian, jurist, and minister are just a few qualifications that demonstrate the versatility of Francisco José Oliveira Vianna (1883-1951). Occasionally labeled as conservative, he was a staunch advocate for social rights in Brazil. It was in this realm that he engaged in controversy with Valdemar Ferreira regarding the alleged fascist influence on Brazil's Labor Court, in which Vianna played a role in its establishment.
