Arroub, Driss. "Personnage et stratégie de la narration chez Claude Ollier." Grenoble 3, 1998. http://www.theses.fr/1998GRE39029.
Full textIn absolute, a theory about personage and narration with the point of view of the perception would like to refute the last narratologic works, trying to occupy a phenomenological space. In the following we perceive that this same theory is conditioned by the roman's factors where the personage becomes the quite perfect double of another, where restrictive space obliges to a non-redundant strategy at the narrative and descriptive level, and where writing becomes synonymous of a failure mixed with a subject crisis and a dissolution of the narration's credit. Even the language is disengaged of its significative sovereignty when the object to describe, during the project of its description, stays eternally an object to describe in its globality such as the material, i. E. The language, stays deficient

Full textBefore being used in literature, diglossia was defined in 1928 by the philologist Jean Psichari as the “coexistence of two rival languages in a same nation”. Strengthened by the sociolinguistics, the concept of diglossia was imported in literature without being substantially transformed. In this thesis, diglossia represents the balance of power existing in the case of multilingualism as in the Maghreb. Beyond the linguistic tensions linked to some geopolitical events, diglossia shows the way some authors, as Assia Djebar and Claude Ollier, express these complex events through their works and ways of writing. It also shows the way they leave space for the Other in their works. The Other may be the stranger outside as well as the otherness into themselves, without forgetting the inaudible language of the body that the writing tries to express. The literary diglossia allows focus on fundamental cultural and ideological facts which are implied in the language. It seems to scramble our cultural references, moulding the authors’ languages into a literary language, far from the everyday speech. All the Assia Djebar’s works studied throughout this thesis belong to the Quatuor (still uncompleted) – L’amour, la Fantasia (1985), Ombre sultane (1987) and Vaste est la prison (1995) – except the novel entitled Loin de Médine (1991). Claude Ollier’s are the following: La mise en scène (1958), Marrakch Medine (1979), Une histoire illisible (1986) and Truquage en amont (1992)

Full textNarcis Oller (1846-1930) is held as the founder of the modern novel in Catalonia. The first part deals with his biography in full detail, not available until now : family origins, childhood in Valls, friendship with the critic Josep Yxart, his cousin, early love of literature. His life in Barcelona, where he was a law-student, enabled him to meet the mail figures of the "renaissance ("renaiwenca") : Guimera, Vilanova, Sarda, Matheu, etc. First publishing articles and short stories in Spanish, then he wrote practically everything in Catalan. His Catalan feelings remain firm. His literary success will earn him the esteem and friendship of the greatest writers in Spanish : Pereda, Galdos, Clarin, Menendez Pelayo, Pardo Bazan, Valera, etc. Thanks to his French translator, a. Savine, he became acquainted with Zola who wrote a preface to la Papallona ("le papillon"). Together with this life, we analyse his reactions before the social and political events in Catalonia. The second part treats his youthful readings, his literary theories, his working methods. And we devote several chapters to the thematic study of his works : language and style, narrative structures, function of patronyms, autonyms and toponyms, role of society, of the family, of women in this novels, and we end asking ourselves : does this work reflect the reality of his times ? And we provide our answer

Borrell, Cécile. "La bourgeoisie catalane dans l'oeuvre romanesque de Narcis Oller (1846-1930)." Paris 4, 2005. http://www.theses.fr/2005PA040157.
Full textIn his novels, Narcis Oller (1846-1930) depicts the Catalan bourgeoisie of the last third of the XIXth century. Vilaniu (1885) and La Febre d'or (1890-1892) are the major novels of this author marked by French naturalism. In Vilaniu, the intrigue of which takes place in a small city, the narrator describes with minutia the local customs, folklore and the regional celebrations while announcing the extinction of a conservative and traditionalistic rural bourgeoisie. La Febre d'or is conceived as a continuation of Vilaniu, but the action unrolls in Barcelona, and it focuses on the stock-market operations and speculation related with the company that holds the concession to operate the railroad between Barcelona and Vilaniu. The omniscient narrator sketches out with humor and severity the chronicle of a new rural bourgeoisie, uneducated and pretentious, which will not be able to escape ruin. The two novels are filled out with the Catalan history, a history which filters through the outline, the characters, the dialogues and the language which are a matter for the literary creation which is the real object of our research
