Abstract:
In several Mediterranean countries, olive pruning residues (OLPRs) are abandoned or burned leading to several environmental problems. Valorization of these agrowastes could be a challenge for the primary decomposer Pleurotus ostreatus, turning them into edible biomass. The OLPR was used alone (OLPR), or in mixtures with wheat straw (WS : OLPR 1 : 3 v/v and WS : OLPR 3 : 1 v/v). Mycelial colonization was hastened by 3.7 days in WS : OLPR 1 : 3 (v/v). Yields were comparable to control (WS) in WS : OLPR 3 : 1 (v/v). Organic matter loss decreased with increasing proportions of OLPR in substrates.

Building on past research, this paper develops a game theoretic model to study the provision of local public goods under closed- and open-list proportional representation (CLPR and OLPR). The core results suggest that, all thing equal, legislators will provide voters with higher levels of public goods in OLPR than in CLPR systems. However, two intervening variables condition the institutional comparison: the district magnitude and electoral volatility. Firstly, public goods effort increases as district magnitude increases in OLPR systems, while it tends to decrease as magnitude increases in CL

Conventional wisdom suggests that parties in candidate-centered electoral systems should be associated with less cohesive policy preferences among legislators. We model the incentives of party leaders to achieve voting unity accounting for the costs of discipline, showing that candidate-centered systems have the counterintuitive effect of promoting party agreement on policies and preference cohesion. These implications for cohesion derive from the degree of control over list rank held by leaders under open lists (open-list proportional representation, OLPR) and closed lists (closed-list propor

Vehicle Ad Hoc network (VANET) has grown fast in recent years. The routing protocol is one of the key technologies in VANET. Due to the particularity of VANET networks, the implementation and validation of all the protocols in realistic scenes are not possible. In this paper, we use the network simulation software OPNET to simulate the network models of VANET in different urban scenarios. We assessed the performance of Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) and Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR) protocols. Then we propose a new method by deploying the roadside equipment with Mobile IP. The results show

The energy of each node is very limited in MANET’s due to which it becomes an important parameter to be considered while selecting the route. The ‘Optimized Link State Routing Protocol’ (OLSR) does not consider node energy during Multipoint relay (MPR) selection process. This paper proposes an improvement of OLSR routing protocol named as A-OLSR protocol using node energy during its MPR process. Th

Abstract:
The mobile ad-hoc networks (MANET) are those whose nodes have mobility, energy restriction and operate simultaneously as end systems and router. One of the main problems found in MANETs is the occurrence of selfish nodes, which are those that refuse to route packets for other nodes. To address the issue of selfish nodes in MANETs and improve the flow of traffic in these networks, this paper proposes an extension to the OLSR protocol, based on Fuzzy logic, called OLSR Fuzzy Cost (OLSR -FC). Using the NS-2 simulator, the OLSR-FC proposal was compared to other extensions of OLSR protocol (e.g., O

Quality-of-Service (QoS) routing protocol is developed for mobile Ad Hoc Networks. MANET is a self configuring network of mobile devices connected by wireless links. Each device in the MANET is free to move independently in any direction; therefore, it changes links to other devices frequently. The proposed QoS-based routing in the Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR) protocol relates bandwidth and delay using a fuzzy logic algorithm. The path computations are examined and the reason behind the selection of bandwidth and delay metrics is discussed. The performance of the protocol is investigate
