The appropriate use of seasonal climate information in agricultural management requires systematic analysis of decision makers' (farmers') characteristics, needs and perceptions. An attempt has been made to characterize the decision-making approach and factors affecting them amongst 240 selected crop farmers in southern India (Coimbatore region). Farmers' perceptions about the importance of farm decisions in relation to seasonal climate information and their knowledge level were also analysed. About 39% of the farmers made decisions ‘alone’, indicating monopolization of decisions by one decisi

Abstract:
Digital Twins can be seen as powering the next generation of IoT-connected solutions. Digital Twins model the real world by using historical and real-time data to represent the past and present and simulate the predictable future. Digital twins are related to a set of concepts such as digital representation and 3D visualization, integration, monitoring, control, computation, prediction, and decision-making. They are digital replicas of physical objects having bidirectional data flow. The physical object and its digital twin are synchronized, and the simulations, optimizations and visualization

climate forecasts suggest farmers in the northeast will be faced with both challenges and opportunities as the climate changes. currently farmers and other land stewards manage the risks created by changing weather patterns in many different ways.

Abstract:
As global agricultural production methods and supply chains have become more digitised, farmers around the world are adopting digital AgTech such as drones, Internet of Things (IoT), remote sensors, blockchain, and satellite imagery to inform their on-farm decision-making. While early adopters and technology advocates globally are spruiking and realising the benefits of digital AgTech, many Australian farmers are reluctant or unable to participate fully in the digital economy. This is an important issue, as the Australian Government has said that digital farming is essential to meeting its tar

Abstract:
This paper evaluates the impact of a rural land administration program in Ecuador on female empowerment and household food security. Using a double robust estimation that combines the difference-in-difference approach with inverse probability weighting, we explore whether receiving a georeferenced cadastral map of ones parcel provides women with increased bargaining power, empowering them to participate more actively in productive and consumption decision-making that leads to improved diversification of the production portfolio and the households food security. Although we find no significant

Cambodia, following more than two decades of impressive economic performance and development, is fast becoming one of Asia’s new tiger economies. Sustained robust GDP growth of over 7 percent has supported improvements in physical infrastructure (economic and social) and substantial poverty reduction. This economic improvement, mostly made possible by rapid manufacturing (garment industry), construction and tourism growth, is paving the way for rapid urbanisation. The pace of urbanisation combined with demographic change, improved access to education, and widespread internet use is playing a s

Galang, Ivory Myka. Boosting Agricultural Productivity through Parcelization of Collective Certificate of Land Ownership Awards. Philippine Institute for Development Studies, 2020. https://doi.org/10.62986/dp2020.26.

Abstract:
Farmers awarded with lands under a collective-Certificate of Land Ownership Awards (CCLOA) have been experiencing problems arising from the collective arrangement (e.g., boundary issues and disputes with other collective members). These issues discourage many farmers from making long-term investment decisions on their land, thereby resulting in lower productivity. With a strong directive from President Rodrigo Duterte, the Department of Agrarian Reform is currently committed to ensure the swift implementation of the Parcelization program, which aims to subdivide collectively-owned CLOAs, whose

Abstract:
Cambodia’s economy is based largely on the agricultural sector which contributes 33 percent of the national GDP and employs more than 67 percent of the national labour force. Rice production is central to this sector: not only do the majority of Cambodia’s farmers depend directly and indirectly on the success of the rice crop each year, but being the main food staple, rice production is a significant factor in the national effort to promote food security. Despite its importance, rice farming in Cambodia has traditionally been dependent on rainfall rather than irrigation. Rainfall distribution
