The article is devoted to the analysis, cataloging of cartographic material of the consolidated catalog of “old” maps on the history of Kazakhstan in the XVII–early XX centuries. The funds for storage of cartographic materials in archives and libraries of Moscow and Orenburg are characterized. The functional values of the developed consolidated catalog of “old” maps have been substantiated. The consolidated catalog of cartographic materials can be considered as a kind of “guide” for potential users, with the help of which the user can get answers to the following questions: What archives, libr

Old marketing systems cost growers $4.30/50-lb. sack, and the innovative system costs $2.59 to $3.00/sack. Old transplant systems average $450 to $500/acre and direct s

Plants exhibit diverse pathways to regulate the timing of flowering. Some plant species require a vegetative phase before being able to perceive cold stimuli for the acceleration of flowering through vernalization. This research confirms the correlation between the vernalization process and seedling age in Welsh onions. Findings from two vernalization experiments conducted at different time intervals demonstrate that seedlings must reach a vegetative phase of at least 8 weeks to consistently respond to vernalization. Notably, 8–week–old seedlings subjected to 6 weeks of vernalization displayed

AbstractSince the establishment of the Hipparcos Catalog as the defining source of the optical reference frame, densification beyond its ≈ 120,000 stars has been made possible by the utilization of the Tycho-1 Catalog. The ACT, combining the old Astrographic Catalog (AC) data with the Tycho-1 positions, is the best known example of this. The Tycho-2 consortium, led by E. Høg, has performed new reductions on the Tycho data. This not only has increased the astrometric and photometric accuracies of the original 1 million Tycho-1 stars, but also has added an additional 1.5 million stars. The U.S.

Abstract Since the early sixties, our view of radio galaxies and quasars has been drastically shaped by discoveries made thanks to observations of radio sources listed in the Third Cambridge Catalog and its revised version (3CR). However, the largest fraction of data collected to date on 3CR sources was performed with relatively old instruments, rarely repeated and/or updated. Importantly, the 3CR contains only objects located in the Northern Hemisphere, thus having limited access to new and innovative astronomical facilities. Organizations that operated parallel to the industry like the National Board of Review and the broader Better Films movement had a major hand in promoting rereleases as an integral part of repertory cinema programming, as did individual pioneers who in the waning years of the silent era dusted off their old reels and went on the road to share anecdotes and tall tales a

Pet peeves about others’ behaviors are normal. When a particular behavior occurs daily in a classroom, however, it can drive a teacher (and students) to severe annoyance. The key to minimizing issues is remembering that our frenzy over someone’s quirky behavior is more often our problem than theirs. Our five senses function to orient us in the world, to give us information about what is happening outside our skin. Visual, auditory, kinesthetic, olfactory, and gustatory senses work constantly to feed us information. When we have a “sensory sensitivity,” we can become anxious and intolerant,
