Pre-electoral coalitions form across a variety of political contexts. Prevailing explanations suggest that ideological proximity between coalition partners and the size of the contribution that parties make explain the character of coalitions. These expectations hold only partially true in the case of Mexico. Rather, as this article suggests, parties also evaluate the degree to which they consider prospective coalition partners reliable and trustworthy. Some otherwise viable coalitions fail to form because of lack of trust or form despite ideological disparities, when a party’s contribution to

Abstract In this study, the dependence of the electric field between the magnetic disk and Si wafer, used as the counter surface, on the hydrocarbon smear generated from the diamond-like carbon (DLC) overcoat was investigated. As a result, the positive electric field from the disk to the Si wafer increased the amount of smear, and the negative field reduced it. The positive electric field was estimated to extract hydrocarbon ions from the thermal plasma toward the Si wafer, and the opposite field attracts the hydrocarbon ions to the DLC surface. Therefore, the electric field between the slider

Capacitive deionization is an emerging electrochemical technology employed in water desalination applications. Multiple water desalination technologies include reverse osmosis, multi-stage flash, humidification-dehumidification, and nanofiltration. Capacitive deionization is appreciably increased the desalination efficiency compared to other technologies while promising energy-efficient and cost-effective operation. In the CDI system, the charged ions are extracted from feedwater by applying an electrical voltage across electrodes, in which the charged ions are attracted to the oppositely char

With more and more users using smartphones to order food online, in order to attract users, advertisements are widely used in various mobile food ordering APPs (MFOAs). The presentation of information in the user interface of MFOA is an essential factor pertinent to the user experience. This study aimed to explore the usability of information layout and dynamic presentation of banner advertising in an MFOA's operation and to suggest future design improvements. A 2 x 2 between-subjects experiment was planned to help explore whether the information layout (i.e., list-style and matrix-style) and

Considering its basic idea (essence), terrorism is shown to be "propaganda with the help of violence". This special theatrical form of violence, through media communication, attracts the attention of millions of people. Has the media become the "weapon" of the terrorists they report on? Who is using (exploiting) whom in this brutal game designed to produce fear, terror and chaos in the public? Does the media serve terrorism by giving it the publicity it needs to achieve its goal - conveying a political message, etc.? Abstract:
The more a country is open to trade, the more it attracts investors and the faster its economy develops. However, some study showed that sometime it can be the opposite of all this. In this context, the main purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between trade openness, capital formation and economic growth in African countries. To do so, we collected data of GDP per capita, trade (% of GDP), Gross national expenditure and capital formation variables. The method applied is panel cointegration and causality by using time series of 38 African countries for the period of 1990-20

Abstract:
Public spaces that attract and retain diverse people are crucial to foster urbanity and tolerance, and build stronger and livelier communities, especially in big cities. The simple coexistence of similarities and differences in public spaces can, to say the least, validate our own essence and offer us a possibility of growth. Sharing the same space with other people – even without interacting with them – favors social learning. Theory suggests that thought, feeling and behavior can be altered by observation. The search for public spaces that make urbanity viable is desirable in any society (es
