In Free Space Optic (FSO) communication, the alignment between transmitter and receiver telescope is very important. The line of sight of their optics must be aligned during the entire communication time; this is crutial in large distance data transmission. One of the factors that causes misalignment is vibration, either at the transmitter or the receiver. In this work, active vibration isolation (AVI) system is designed and developed to tackle this issue. An AVI system isolates FSO devices from direct disturbances or ground vibrations. In the fiber optic communication network for example,- FTTH, EPON, NBN, OTN and so on, the most important components are fiber length between transmitter and receiver point. So, to make, cheap and meaningful communication through optical fiber it must be required to calculate how and what amount of signal is transmitted with the given length of the fiber. Finally, it is said that the optical fiber network have several limitations like extension ratio. So, it is necessary to investigate its affect on the performance of the Optical Network. MAX 232 is used to convert RS 232 logic to TTL logic and then an optical transmitter circuit is used to transmit data via fiber optic cable. The optical transmitter circuit has an LED which is matched with the cable. At the receiver an optical receiver circuit is used which receives data using a photo diode and a MAX 232 again to convert TTL logic to RS 232 for the serial port at the receiving end computer. In this dissertation the performance of a novel variant of a return-to-zero (RZ) modulation format, based on square-wave phase modulation and filtering of a continuous-wave (CW) signal, is investigated and compared with various modulation formats considered in the literature. We call this modulation format continuous-wave square-wave (CWSW). With CWSW an RZ pulse train is generated by phase modulating the CW signal by a periodic square-wave phase function having an amplitude of and frequency of half the bit rate, and then filtering the signal. The filter performs phase-to-amplitude conversio

The advancement of optical systems arises from furthering at least one of the three fields of optical development: design, fabrication, and testing. One example of such advancement is the growth in customization of contact lenses, which is occurring in part due to advances in testing. Due to the diverse quantities that can be derived from it, the transmitted wavefront is the tested parameter. There are a number of tests that can evaluate a transmitted wavefront, including moire deflectometry, Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensing, and interferometry. Abstract:
In order to better facilitate the use of aspheres in optical design, metrology systems must become independent from the asphere under test. This requires testing in a non-null sense. Large aspheric departures and steep wavefront slopes must be detected by the metrology instrument. Sub-Nyquist interferometry (SNI) is one such method which has been shown to reconstruct large wavefront departures. Large departures generate high spatial frequency fringes, which must be detected by the interferometer. This requires the use of a sparse array sensor to capture the high spatial frequency fringe data.
