In order to accommodate low cost, mechanical alignment, the link medium is modified from single mode fiber (used routinely in telecommunication systems) to multimode fiber. Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the optimization of production process at ADC Czech Republic s.r.o. Primarily, the method of Lean Six Sigma is used. The first part has a form of the literary study where individual methods used within the company are described. These are further applied in the practical part. The second part presents a brief introduction of the company including the production portfolio. The last part focuses on the practical solution of particular problems of two packaging lines aiming to increase the utilization. In the thesis, the DMAIC improvement cycle is employed.

Abstract:

This thesis describes the outcome of study to investigate methods of broadband matching to photonic devices such as lasers and high speed detectors. The thesis is divided into two areas of interest relating to the design of broadband fiber optic links. The first area is the application of numerical methods and commensurate line methods to the design of compact equalisers which allow an improved transducer power gain over a wide band. Abstract:

The diploma thesis describes the elaboration of a program for the simulation of an optical transmission path. The work introduces the basic parameters of optical transmission, such as attenuation, dispersion and bandwidth. Furthermore, the techniques of line code and error detection are described in the work, especially a cyclic redundancy sum. The key parameter of this thesis is dispersion of the optical signal. The work includes the characteristics of the eye diagram and its analysis. The resulting program can also be used to measure the real transmission route and its parameters.
