Abstract:
In this thesis I examine the placement of the dependent genitive relative to its head noun in Classical Latin prose. The corpus is drawn from the works of four first-century B.C. authors: Caesar, Cicero, Sallust and Varro. The thesis itself is split into two main sections, a qualitative analysis and a quantitative analysis. The qualitative analysis discusses a number of factors that may influence genitive position, drawn from literature on the subject as well as my pilot studies. These factors are information structure, the genitive’s grammatical function, discontinuity, lexical category, animacy, prepositions governing the head noun, reported speech, idioms, lexical items, and grammatical number of the genitive. This analysis examines individual instances of genitive position in context, providing examples and counter-examples of the ordering patterns found with each potential factor. The qualitative analysis suggests that a number of these factors have an effect on genitive position, particularly information structure. These results are tested by the quantitative analysis. By performing a multivariate statistical analysis using the programme GoldVarb, the combined effects of multiple factors are determined and the statistically significant factors ranked in order of importance and strength of effect. The statistics show that information structure is the most important of the factors. Other significant influences are the presence of prepositions, the function of the genitive and its lexical category. By combining the two types of analysis, qualitative and quantitative, this thesis shows in detail how the factors combine to influence word order, which of them are independent, which interact, which are important and which have little to no effect at all, resulting in a better understanding of the data and the way that the contextual factors work together to produce the variant orders of the dependent genitive.

Abstract:
The dissertation, concerning the Schmitts idea of "Recht", is divided in three chapters corresponding with the three elements that constitute the juridical form: Decision, Norm and 'konkrete Ordnung'. In the first chapter, we develop the ideas of Decision and State of exception that involves with a central role the Schmitt's analysis on Dictatorship and Constitution. Decision and State of exception are elements of juridical space. They aren't pure political elements. The second chapter concern the Schmitt's idea of Norm. To explicate it, we analize the concept of 'total State', the critic on juridical positivism and his idea of Law. In the third chapter, we analize the idea of 'Konkrete Ordnung'. Starting from this idea Schmitt develop his concept on Nomos.
La tesi, che ha ad oggetto l'idea di diritto in Schmitt, si suddivide in tre capitoli, corrispondenti a quelli che, per l'autore, rappresentano i tre elementi del diritto: decisione, norma ed ordinamento. Nel primo capitolo si sviluppa l'idea di decisione e di stato di eccezione. Dall'analisi svolta, che si concentra sugli studi schmittiani sulla dittatura e sul custode della costituzione, essi si mostreranno come elementi propri dello spazio giuridico. Non si tratta quindi di elementi puramente politici. Il secondo capitolo ha invece ad oggetto il concetto schmittiano di norma. Per chiarirne il contenuto si svilupperanno le analisi che Schmitt fa sullo stato totale e sulla critica al positivismo e sul suo concetto di legge positiva. Nel terzo capitolo, si svilupperà infine l'idea di ordinamento concreto, idea che troverà nel Nomos la sua formazione compiuta.

Debitus ordo. Tradition and originality of method in Spinoza. This research explores the philosophical significance of the ordo geometricus in Spinoza, focusing on the following three points: the controversial question of the rapport between form and content in his Ethica; the relationship between ordo and methodus in Spinoza; and the origin and tradition of ordo geometricus relative to Spinozian application. Concordant with the interpretation that there is a profound connection in Spinoza between form and content and the coincidence of ordo and methodus, the thesis follows three paths of inquiry: the first concerns the identification of the origin and history of the geometric method; the second is a detailed analysis of Spinoza’s works intended to demonstrate how the peculiar articulation of his philosophy presupposes this convergence of form and content and of ordo and methodus; the third concerns the ethical implications of the ordo geometricus. For the first part, which considers the intersection of logic and mathematics as constituent elements of the modern geometric method, both traditions are traced from their ancient origins to their physiognomy in the late sixteenth century. With regard to logic the predominant figures of reference are Aristotle and Zabarella for their hypothetical influence upon Spinoza; while for mathematics our point of departure is Euclid and his commentators Pappo and Proclo, up to the reform introduced by mathematicians at the end of the sixteenth century, particularly Clavio. This overview of the confluence of logic and mathematics also subsumes the positions of Hobbes and Descartes, especially the concepts of analysis and synthesis and the doctrine of definition. Our second path of inquiry, which deals principally with textual investigation, focuses particularly on those aspects of Spinoza’s philosophy that may be considered fundamental with respect to the intrinsic use of the ordo geometricus: the idea of truth as index sui, the doctrine of parallelism, the doctrine of definition, and the concept of God. In conclusion we turn to another, ulterior aspect of the significance of geometric order in Spinoza, specifically the ethical implications of the ordo geometricus: the scientific approach to affects, the relationship between affectus and passio, the deduction of passions from the concept of conatus, the debitus ordo of the intellect as order of action and liberation from the oppression of passions. The entire work aims at showing how in Spinoza’s thought the geometric order of the Ethica is the necessary consequence of the coincidence between the order of being, order of knowing and order of joy, and of the identification of methodus and ordo.

O propósito dessa pesquisa foi refletir sobre a teologia de Rubem Alves. Nesta pesquisa foi analisada especificamente a primeira fase do pensamento de Rubem Alves, a saber, sua proposta de libertação humana. Para além de um protestantismo passivo diante da injusta realidade, o autor estudado, absorvendo toda consciência crítica ocidental, fez nascer em solos latino-americanos uma proposta de libertação humana de todas as estruturas que impossibilitam a vida. O ser humano, na teologia de Rubem Alves, é pensado enquanto homo creator. Se a linguagem do tecnologismo ou a linguagem eclesiástica domesticam as ações humanas, tornando-as meras réplicas do que já está, Alves denuncia os acordos silenciosos das mesmas e anuncia o ser humano livre para o ato criativo. Esta pesquisa propõe analisar a primeira fase do pensamento de Alves sob dois momentos, a saber, o dialético-político e o estético-imaginativo. No primeiro momento é abordado o messianismo humanista (expressão alvesiana) que a partir de uma plataforma sociológica (humanismo político) propõe uma libertação dialética e política. No segundo momento é tratada a libertação humana a partir de elementos heterodoxos tais como a magia, a experiência lúdica, o corpo e a imaginação. E assim o trabalho mostra que esses dois momentos da primeira fase do pensamento de Alves foram extremamente frutíferos e vanguardistas para a teologia latino-americana.
The oil industry in Brazil has gained new momentum with the recent discovery of large oil reserves in deep waters. Between 2011 and 2015 numerous investments in the oil production chain are expected in order to support the scale of this new operation. Given this context, investment decisions in the oil industry downstream supply chain gain importance and the use of an analytic tool that encompasses its complexity becomes crucial. Thus, this master thesis proposes a mixed linear programming model (MILP) that was developed to allow evaluation of different investment alternatives in the existing logistics network, whether they approach expanding the transportion, berthing, handling or storage capacities. These features of the model were evaluated through two case studies that use real data of the Brazilian oil and derivatives logistic network. The first case study evaluates the feasibility of the project to expand sections of a pipeline that supplies several distribution centers and exposes the interdependence of investment in each one of them. The second case study evaluates the synergies in two projects: the first one to expand the berthing capacity of vessels in a marine terminal and the second to increase the transport capacity of the pipeline linking it to a distribution center. In both studies a sensitivity analysis of Net Present Value of the project relative to its investment cost was performed, allowing to justify the choice of the decision-maker.

Abstract:
This thesis presents an argument for the development of a catechumenate for the Church of Scotland. It does so first by drawing attention to the wide discrepancy between the assumptions of the secular culture and those of the church, specifically the Church of Scotland, with a view to understanding the substantial differences in the beliefs of those baptised and the beliefs of the church. It argues that the church has yet to come to terms with this discrepancy and consequently has weakened its distinctive baptismal witness. Secondly, the thesis considers in depth the development and reception of two major studies on the subject of baptism conducted by the Church of Scotland in the last sixty years. It indicates that both remain largely unknown quantities within the church and have subsequently failed to provide practical guidance to the church in its practice of baptism. This thesis considers the experience and practice of adult baptism in contemporary Scotland and concludes with an extended argument justifying the need for a fully developed catechumenate.

La storiografia della seconda metà del ventesimo secolo ha in più occasioni evidenziato la centralità del dibattito teologico emerso tra la seconda metà del secolo XI e i primi decenni del secolo XII per lo sviluppo di una prima compiuta riflessione sullo statuto epistemologico del sapere teologico e del suo linguaggio. Tra gli autori attivi in questo arco cronologico, particolare rilevanza assumono le figure di Oddone di Tournai, Guglielmo di Champeaux e Roscellino di Compiègne, maestri attivi in area francese, uniti dalla condivisione di un percorso curriculare comune ma divisi dalle posizioni assunte su quella che la storiografia ha comunemente (e in parte impropriamente) definito ‘questione degli universali’. La tesi si articola in tre capitoli, incentrati sulla disamina di testi utili alla ricostruzione delle più significative tesi dei tre maestri. In particolare, nel primo capitolo, sulla base delle informazioni tratte da commenti frammentari riportati alla luce in tempi recenti e attribuiti dagli studiosi in maniera non sempre unanime a Guglielmo di Champeaux, e delle Sententiae vel quaestiones raccolte in un florilegio noto come Liber Pancrisis, è stato possibile ricostruire le linee principali del curriculum studiorum delle scuole a cavallo tra i secoli XI e XII, di cui Guglielmo era – agli occhi dei contemporanei e a dispetto di quanto sia passato alla storia attraverso la testimonianza abelardiana – una delle colonne portanti (columna doctorum). Si delinea, dunque, dall'analisi di questi materiali, la figura di un rinomato magister pienamente coerente con il paradigma epistemologico della tradizione aristotelico-boeziana e con il conseguente esemplarismo di matrice agostiniana. Nel suo magistero, Guglielmo utilizza gli strumenti provenienti dalla sapienza antica calati nelle forme di un sapere moderno, elaborando così, nel vivo del dibattito tra antiqui e moderni, una sottile speculazione teologica. I temi principali, dal peccato originale all’incarnazione, sono stati, nel presente lavoro, ricollocati, rispetto all’ordine attribuito dall’editore moderno delle Sententiae, in un percorso che evidenzia una visione platonizzante del reale che, da un punto di vista logico, conduce il pensiero ad ascendere dalle res agli universali mentre, da un punto di vista teologico, presupponendo l’esistenza dei principi di tutte le cose nel Verbo divino, postula una discesa del reale da tali principi. Il capitolo presta particolare attenzione al lessico utilizzato da Guglielmo e alla riproposizione della partizione neoplatonica e, ancora una volta, boeziana della facoltà conoscitive dell'uomo. Lo studio delle arti del trivio, scienze del discorso umano, costituisce infatti la base per indirizzare l’uomo verso una comprensione del discorso divino quale sapere teologico. È nell’incontro di tali discipline e nella coesistenza dei loro intenti che, in quella che sembra essere la proposta speculativa di Guglielmo, si determinano i presupposti di una teoria della conoscenza capace di assicurare al suo interno la fondamentale coesione tra l’ordine dell’universo – così come è stato pensato e creato da Dio – e la capacità affidata all’uomo di ricostruirne la struttura. L’insegnamento della dialettica, l’allontanamento dall’attività magistrale, la scelta del silenzio e del deserto interiore, la dimensione comunitaria della vita religiosa adattata all’ideale eremitico e il concreto impegno, in veste di vescovo, nella riforma di una Chiesa sempre più dilaniata dagli scontri tra papato e impero, accomunano la figura di Oddone di Tournai ai percorsi esistenziali degli altri attori – come lui non protagonisti – del passaggio dal secolo XI al XII, come nel caso specifico del maestro di Champeaux. È, dunque, forse possibile parlare di una linea di pensiero condivisa, capace di intercettare autori geograficamente e spiritualmente distanti tra loro; si tratta di quella linea che pur avendo avuto un cominciamento lontano si è accresciuta nel corso dei secoli dell’alto Medioevo, nutrendosi del contributo di tutti coloro che, attraverso diverse forme, hanno partecipato, nell’adesione a un paradigma esemplarista, dell’ideale platonico calandolo in una realtà storico-culturale di volta in volta differente. Il secondo capitolo si articola principalmente sull’analisi di una delle opere di Oddone, il De peccato originali, dalla cui lettura emergono il metodo dialettico utilizzato dal maestro per sciogliere le numerose difficoltà dogmatiche che emergono nell'analisi filosofico-dottrinaria del tema del peccato originale e, al contempo, il lessico e la struttura epistemologica del medesimo paradigma già evidenziato nel capitolo precedente. La teatrale riproposizione del dibattito tra le diverse dottrine che si sono avvicendate nel corso dei secoli sul tema del peccato originale messa in campo da Oddone consente, in misura ancora maggiore rispetto all’esperienza del laboratorio teologico delle Sententiae di Guglielmo, di entrare nel vivo di un dibattito la cui portata, nell’imminente passaggio di paradigma, sarebbe stata non solo teologica ma anche e soprattutto epistemologica. Tutto questo esploderà in un vero e proprio conflitto dottrinario – analizzato nel terzo e ultimo capitolo – i cui protagonisti (Roscellino, Abelardo e Anselmo) si colpiscono vicendevolmente con il gladius della dialettica; la tesi punta dunque a evidenziare – anche grazie a una mirata collocazione delle diverse opere analizzate in un climax di crescente intensità espressiva – la drammaticità speculativa di un momento di passaggio della storia della filosofia medievale costituito, al contempo, da grande ricchezza speculativa, ma anche da una forte frammentazione terminologica e dottrinaria. Nel terzo capitolo, l’analisi del pensiero di Roscellino di Compiègne – solitamente collocato agli antipodi del realismo caratterizzante le posizioni dei primi due autori – e del dibattito sul tema trinitario innescato dall’applicazione della dottrina nominalista alla sostanza divina nasce dall'esigenza di condurre una valutazione sulla terminologia utilizzata nei testi presi in esame che costituisce il loro perimetro di condivisione. L'unico testo a disposizione degli studiosi per ricostruire la dottrina di Roscellino, una lettera diffamatoria indirizzata ad Abelardo, intercetta, nell'incontro con altre significative testimonianze, in modo particolare l’Epistola de Incarnatione Verbi di Anselmo, una Epistola indirizzata al vescovo di Parigi e la Theologia Summi Boni di Abelardo, le rotte su cui si muoveva il dibattito teologico nel fertile periodo preso in esame in questo lavoro. La scelta di mettere in relazione la posizione di Roscellino con quelle ‘realiste’ di Guglielmo e Oddone offre, per il tramite di una analisi testuale – particolarmente attenta alla scelte terminologiche e alle differenze che vocaboli fondamentali, quali substantia, essentia, persona, singularitas, communitas, idem e diverso – un viaggio in un melieu culturale, filosofico e religioso in cui la ‘verità’ poteva e doveva ancora essere raccontata attraverso una ‘realtà’ il più possibile vicina a quella pensata da Dio, nella più esaustiva corrispondenza di ordo rerum, ordo verborum e ordo idearum.[a cura dell'autore]

Diante da crise mundial da ética na contemporaneidade esta tese busca equacionar em que medida o Espiritismo, religião que nasce em 1856 na Europa e hoje tem sua maioria de adeptos no Brasil, propõe alternativas plausíveis capazes de alimentar a esperança de uma outra globalização possível. Com ênfase na ética do amor, o espiritismo tem uma visão de sociedade que se contrapõe ao atual estágio do capitalismo mundial e a ideologia materialista que o legitima e idolatra novos deuses: a tecno-ciência, o sistema de mercado e o dinheiro. Além disso, como herdeiro de Comenius, Pestalozzi e Rousseau, Allan Kardec desenvolveu uma visão pluralista das religiões e legou um verdadeiro campo aberto ao diálogo entre as diferentes tradições espirituais da humanidade. Esta tese faz um exercício de diálogo entre a mensagem de Buda e a de Jesus, no âmbito do espiritismo, e avalia em que medida o amor seria uma resposta ecumênica aos desafios éticos da globalização. Quem ama dialoga, e só quem dialoga é capaz de amar. O diálogo entre as religiões surge como uma alternativa de sobrevivência humana a partir da valorização das diferenças e do combate aos fundamentalismos de todo tipo.

Esta pesquisa, que é também uma ode em suas múltiplas expressões, se ergue no rastro dos afetos, do caos e do lirismo desmedido encontrados nos discursos poéticos de Caio Fernando Abreu e Renato Russo (o primeiro nos domínios da ficção literária e o segundo nos da canção de rock); constrói-se, também, com vistas às inquietações atravessadas pela busca do lugar da poesia no cenário da prosa e da letra de música, aqui recortadas, atendo-se ao modo como essas vozes se mantêm ressonantes e esteticamente significativas no contexto atual. Na procura por legitimar o protagonismo de Eros e seus pares dentro do universo contemporâneo e impetuoso de um mundo híbrido e desconexo, a ordo amoris, como linguagem coletiva e universal na erótica social, foi um modo de operacionalizar as questões centrais e organizar esses inventários (forjados a partir das metáforas do livro de contos Inventário do ir-remediável e do disco As quatro estações), transferindo, refletindo e redesenhando os espaços de criação, recepção e estética em literatura, que nessa dissertação borra fronteiras. A cultura de afetos, a filosofia existencialista e as contribuições sobre sujeito, coletividade, erotismo e subjetividade(s) reinventam e sustentam os debates que se edificam em espaços plurais de atuação, no desenho cartográfico que se vai formando a partir da poética de Caio e Renato e seus discursos à flor da pele. As quatro estações potencializam e iluminam os passos das divindades míticas e dos sujeitos líricos que se cruzam nessa pesquisa, são as vias férteis que acenam para a presentificação do agora, quando há trocas necessárias de papéis em que o eu se dissolve e se derrama no outro, na busca por essa alma coletiva da humanidade (quase) perdida e da celebração. São, principalmente, os pressupostos teóricos de Michel Maffesoli (2014a) e Giorgio Agamben (2013) que fundamentam e iluminam esse barco solto na correnteza.
This study arises in the trail of the affections, chaos and excessive lyricism found in the poetic discourses of Caio Fernando Abreu e Renato Russo (the first in the fields of literary fiction and the second in the fields of rock songs), and is also an ode in its multiple expressions; it is also constructed with a view to the concerns that are crossed by the search for the place of poetry in the scenario of prose and the music lyrics, brought here paying attention to the way these voices remain resonant and aesthetically significant in the current context. In order to legitimize the protagonism of Eros and his peers within the contemporary and impetuous universe of a hybrid and disconnected world, the ordo amoris, as collective and universal language in social erotica, was a way to operationalize the central issues and organize these inventories (made up from the metaphors of the short story book Inventário do ir-remediável [Inventory of the Irremediable] and the album As quatro estações [The Four Seasons]), transferring, reflecting and redesigning the spaces of creation, reception and aesthetics in literature, which in this dissertation blurs borders. The culture of affections, the existentialist philosophy and the contributions on subject, collectivity, eroticism and subjectivity (ies) reinvent and sustain the debates that are built in plural spaces of action, in the cartographic drawing that is formed from the poetics of Caio and Renato and their impassioned discourses. The four seasons potentiate and enlighten the steps of the mythical divinities and the lyrical subjects crossing each other in this study, they are the fertile paths that beckon to the presentification of the now, when there are necessary exchanges of roles in which the self dissolves and flows itself in the other, in the search for this collective soul of the (almost) lost humanity and the celebration. These are mainly the theoretical assumptions of Michel Maffesoli (2014a) and Giorgio Agamben (2013), which ground and illuminate this boat adrift on the tide.

Biodrivmedel blev efter millennieskiftet en alltmer prioriterad energikälla för EU och ansågs kunna stävja både klimathot och energissäkerhetsproblem samtidigt som drivmedelsproduktionen skulle gynna sysselsättningen i jordbruket. EUkommissionen formulerade 2007 ett mål om att ersätta 10 % av transportenergin till biodrivmedel. Snabbt uppkom dock en strid mellan en grupp av aktörer (miljörörelse och livsmedelsindustri) som såg biodrivmedelssatsningen som ett hot mot både miljön och livsmedelssäkerheten medan en annan grupp bestående av företrädesvis biodrivmedelsintressenter såg det som viktigt att behålla och utveckla EU:s mål för att rädda både klimat och miljö. Motsättningarna som uppkommit väcker frågor kring vilka logiker som legat bakom detta. Avhandlingens syfte är att analysera EU:s biodrivmedelspolicy, vilka aktörer och nätverk som har format denna process, vilka problem och lösningar som dessa aktörer och nätverk argumenterat för i processen, samt hur de har agerat för att mobilisera stöd för sina ståndpunkter. Detta har kopplats till teorier om nätverksstyrning, förekomsten av utlösande händelser i policyprocessen, resursberoende i nätverksmodellen samt på vilket sätt managementteori utövat inflytande. Metoden har varit att utifrån dokumentstudier rekonstruera det historiska förloppet och de aktörer som medverkat i processen. Avhandlingens visar att en förhållandevis liten grupp aktörer har haft ett stort inflytande över policyprocessen från det att problemen som biodrivmedel var satta att lösa definierades i slutet av 80-talet till det att hållbarhetsstandarder utvecklades och implementerades. Dessa aktörer har funnits i policynätverkens kärna och har som ett av sina centrala mål velat utarbeta globala regelverk för råvaruhandeln. De miljöorganisationer som medverkat i processen har genom resursberoenden till stor del varit underordnade denna grupp. Processerna har innehållit ett stort inslag av strategisk planläggning men även utlösande händelser som klimat- och livsmedelskriser har varit viktiga för att motivera politiska beslut.
Biofuels became a prioritized energy source for the EU in the new millennium. It was believed that biofuels would suppress both climate change and problems with energy security, and would simultaneously benefit agricultural employment. The EU Commission decided in 2007 that 10 % of the energy used in transportation would be replaced by biofuels. This was, however, soon criticized by a group of actors (environmental associations and the food industry) that saw the biofuels initiative as a threat to both the environment and food security. The biofuels proponents, on the other hand, argued that it was important to maintain and develop the EU’s biofuels objectives to save both the climate and the environment. These contradictions raised my interest to understand and analyze the logics that lie behind these different perspectives on the same issue. The aim of this thesis is to analyze the EU's biofuels policy, which actors and networks shaped this process, which problems and solutions these actors and networks put forward in the process, and how they have acted to mobilize support for their positions. Theoretically, I have applied theories on policy networks, the occurrence of triggering events in the policy process, resource dependence between actors and networks, and how management theory can be used to understand how policy develops. The main results are that a relatively small group of actors has had a strong influence on the policy process. These actors have been at the core of the policy community. The environmental organizations involved in the process have been subordinate to this policy community through resource dependencies. One actor network was formed that wanted to increase the amount of biofuels, while another was formed to protect the forest and soil from heavy exploitation. It took over 20 years before these contradicting efforts collided. This thesis concludes that the process contained large elements of strategic planning and that triggering events such as climate and food crises have been important to justify political decisions.

Hildegard of Bingen's Ordo Virtutum (c.1141), the earliest liturgical morality play, presents in small compass some of the Neoplatonic doctrines which formed the common property of theologians in the twelfth century, the most pervasive of which was that which posited a disparity between the sense-perceptible and intelligible realms, true reality being supposed to belong to the latter. For Hildegard, like her contemporaries, such a world-view is inseparable from symbolist modes of thought, and in this thesis explanations for the form and effect of Hildegard's use of rhetorical devices such as symbol and metaphor in the Ordo will be sought within the framework of a discussion of "medieval linguistic epistemology" (Neoplatonic). The Latin text and English translation of the play are also provided.

This PhD is project and theory based. The project component of my PhD, The Palace at 3 a.m. (Ordo Inversus), consists of an exhibition, i.e. a site-specific installation in the Cloister of the Alpirsbach Monastery (Black Forest, Germany). The written thesis, The Palace at 3 a.m. (Ordo Inversus). A Woodcut (Re-) Invention in Resonance with Merleau-Ponty’s ‘Chiasma’ investigates the hypothesis that my woodcut method represents a historical rediscovery of this time-honored medium as well as a new radicalization within contemporary printmaking. The investigation places a particular emphasis on self-referential conceptualization and (simultaneously) the programmatic use of the Chiasma image, which the French philosopher Maurice Merleau-Ponty reintroduced into contemporary discourse. My own artistic approach and method is, moreover, characterized by a distinctly sculptural understanding of the printmaking medium, which is the impetus for the printing block – with its outward sculptural affinity – to take on a coequal and integral role in a confrontational constellation with the print. This sculptural quality, which often tends towards expansive installations, leads to a conscious and offensive treatment of space and spaces manifested in site-specific installations. In addition, this thesis places a particular emphasis on the relationship between print and printing block, which are examined through the lens of Unity and Difference, the Loss of Unity, the Phenomenon of Mirroring, In- Betweenness, Invisibilities and Chiasma – all aspects which culminate in the installation The Palace at 3 a.m. (Ordo Inversus). In art history and its scholarly literature – there are no comparable examples in which the connection and interplay between print and printing block arises so inevitably and naturally, in a truly intrusive manner and celebrated on a formal level. This relation is not just a subservient or aesthetically free 4 interaction, but rather – nolens volens – a conditional relationship creating an integral-genealogical entanglement with one another. From the trunk section of a tree very thin leaves of wood are peeled off radially. While the wooden cylinder serves as printing block the wooden leaves become the prints. Although the relationship between print and printing block is absolutely fundamental to the woodcut medium, there is hardly any relevant literature on the subject, much less a full-fledged study or monograph. In this respect, the present thesis can also be seen as a long overdue contribution to this aesthetic and philosophical discourse. If nothing else, this PhD project should show that it is possible to breathe new life into a tradition, which is even sometimes considered passé these days, and to even make a significant contribution to a potential renaissance of the medium.

O objetivo deste trabalho é identificar o sistema de ordenação do mundo e o lugar social do magister nas correspondências trocadas entre o Mestre Pedro Abelardo (1079-1142) e sua esposa Heloísa (1090-1164), abadessa do Paracleto. O corpus documental utilizado nesta pesquisa consiste na Historia calamitatum, as sete epístolas trocadas entre Abelardo e Heloísa e os problemata, uma carta escrita por Heloísa e respondida por Abelardo sobre diversas questões teológicas. Entendem-se como sistemas de ordenação do mundo os modelos ideológicos de ordenação social. A análise deste conjunto documental permite compreender como se produziram os discursos que visavam autorizar a forma que a sociedade toma ou deveria tomar para melhor funcionar. Estes modelos ideológicos são projetos políticos e, por definirem graus de hierarquia, também justificam qual grupo social deveria manter preponderância na sociedade. Pesquisar a ordenação divina ou os modelos de ordenação divina significa estudar, nas exposições de clérigos e letrados, os projetos políticos daqueles que constroem ou seguem estes discursos, suas mudanças através do tempo em razão das necessidades impostas pelo período e pela sociedade analisada. Significa, também, o esforço de entender qual o papel de cada categoria hierárquica dentro destes sistemas e as funções, modelos de comportamento e tentativas de enquadramento das pessoas que a eles são sujeitados.
The objective of this work is to identify the system of ordering of the world and the social magister in letters exchanged between the Master Peter Abelard (1079-1142) and his wife Heloise (1090-1164), abbess of the Paracleto. The documentary corpus used in this study consists of the Historia calamitatum the seven epistles exchanged between Abelard and Heloise and problemata, a letter written by Heloise and Abelard answered by on various theological issues. Understood as ordering systems of the world the ideological models of social ordering. The analysis of this set of documents provides insight into how it produced the discourses trying to authorize the form that society takes or should take to best work. These models are ideological and political projects, for defining degrees of hierarchy, which also justifies social group should keep the preponderance in society. Search the divine ordination or models of divine ordination means studying, exhibitions of clerics and scholars, the political projects that build or follow these speeches, their changes over time because of the requirements imposed by society and the period analyzed. It also means the effort to understand the role of each hierarchical category within these systems and functions, role models and attempted framing of people who are subjected to them.

Nesta dissertação, analisamos as hagiografias minoritas escritas ao longo do século XIII como detentoras de um ethos econômico. Portadoras de valores idealizados pela Ordem dos Frades Menores, estas narrativas se tornaram um modelo para o reconhecimento e a legitimação das funções que a Ordem poderia assumir perante a sociedade em expansão material das cidades italianas medievais. Para realizar tal análise foi necessário utilizar conceitos que escapassem a abordagens singulares e maniqueístas, que destacam a vida material como um domínio social apartado das demais experiências históricas. Os textos hagiográficos foram interpretados com o auxílio das formulações teóricas do Primitivismo Econômico, destacando os nomes de Karl Polanyi e Max Weber. A partir do uso do método conhecido como “paradigma indiciário”, proposto Carlo Ginzburg, tratamos os indícios e os pequenos detalhes como evidencias que revelam uma realidade maior – um ethos idealizado a respeito da inserção dos frades na materialidade urbana de princípios do século XIII. A hipótese que norteia esta dissertação consiste na acepção de que as hagiografias foram veículos de transmissão de um status específico, o qual, tendo o personagem Francisco de Assis como um elemento central, articulava os ideais do pauperismo, da caridade e da fraternidade como meios de inserção dos frades nos domínios chamados econômicos – e não da negação do mesmo. São discutidos valores associados pelas hagiografias à redistribuição de excedentes, à legitimação de formas de status e ao modelo da ordem como paterfamilias e dispensador da vida material.
In this dissertation, we analyze the Minorite hagiographies written along the thirteenth century as as documents that carried an economic ethos. Filled with idealized values by the Order of Friars Minor, these narratives have become a model for the recognition and legitimation of the functions that the Order could take towards the society in material expansion of the medieval Italian cities. To perform such an analysis was necessary to use concepts that escape the natural and manichaean approaches that highlight material life as a social field apart from other historical experiences. The hagiographic texts were interpreted with the support of theoretical formulations of Economic Primitivism, highlighting the names of Karl Polanyi and Max Weber. From the use of the method known as "evidential paradigm", Carlo Ginzburg proposed, treat the signs and the small details as evidence that reveal a greater reality - an ethos devised regarding the insertion of the friars in the urban materiality of the thirteenth century principles. The hypothesis guiding this investigation is that: the hagiographies were vehicles for the transmission of a particular status , which, having Francis of Assisi character as a central element, articulated the ideals of pauperism, charity and brotherhood as a means for the insertion of the friars in the areas called economic - and not the denial of it. In these pages we discuss the values associated with redistribution of surplus, the legitimation of forms of status and the model of the Order as a paterfamilias and dispenser of material life.

A proteção do patrimônio edificado relaciona-se à necessidade de intervenções arquitetônicas que possibilitem que as edificações atendam às novas necessidades que aparecem com o decorrer do tempo. No caso das igrejas católicas, sua proteção está condicionada às alterações significativas que liturgia sofreu no Século XX, e que podem ser classificadas em torno de quatro eventos principais: (1) o Movimento Litúrgico (década de 1910 em diante), que repensou o papel do leigo na estrutura da liturgia; (2) o Concílio Vaticano II (1962 a 1965), que reorganizou uma série de aspectos na vida da Igreja; (3) a promulgação do Missal reformado (1969); (4) a recepção do magistério conciliar e do novo rito, ocorrida ora em “continuidade”, ora em “ruptura” com o passado. Cada um desses eventos propôs questões que, simbólica ou funcionalmente, não tinham correspondência com a espacialidade das igrejas de então, ainda herdeiras do Concílio de Trento no Século XVI. Disso tudo decorreu uma série de intervenções em igrejas de interesse cultural (não apenas no Brasil), com muitas perdas para o patrimônio. Decorridos cinquenta anos do encerramento do Concílio, cabe reavaliar quais são as intervenções necessárias que aliam preservação e possibilidade de celebração do rito reformado e, dentre as igrejas que passaram por modificações deletérias, quais intervenções restaurativas devem ser propostas agora. O presente estudo visa a mostrar que esse debate, que até o momento vem ocorrendo de forma esparsa, é relevante e deveria ter continuidade, envolvendo não apenas os segmentos tradicionalmente envolvidos nas questões patrimoniais, mas também setores da própria Igreja. Ao fim, é analisado como essas questões aparecem em intervenções de duas igrejas localizadas na cidade mineira de Juiz de Fora, ambas do período eclético e de importância para a cidade: a reforma do presbitério da Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Glória e as intervenções, em curso, na Catedral Metropolitana.
The protection of built heritage is related to architectural interventions that enable buildings to address the new needs that time may bring. In the case of catholic churches, their protection is conditioned by the significant liturgical changes that underwent in the 20th Century, that may be gathered in four major events: (1) the Liturgical Movement (1910s onward), that questioned the laity’s role in the structure of liturgy; (2) The II Vatican Council (1962-1965), that reorganized several elements in the Church; (3) the promulgation of the reformed Missal; (4) the reception of the Council magisterium and the new rite, sometimes in “continuity” and sometimes in “rupture” with regard to the past. Each of these events called for issues that, symbolically or functionally, had no counterpart to the architectural space of the existing churches, as defined by the Council of Trent in the 16th Century. A significant amount of architectural interventions has taken place since then (not only in Brazil), with the loss of many important landmarks. Fifty years after the Council was closed, it is necessary to debate what architectural interventions bind cultural preservation to the possibility of celebration of the reformed rite. In the case of churches that underwent hazardous changes, it is also necessary to discuss the proper restoration for them. This study’s goal is to show that such a debate, still relatively sparse, is relevant and should take place among professionals involved in heritage protection as well as in the Church herself. The last part depicts interventions in two churches located in Juiz de Fora, in the State of Minas Gerais, both from the eclectic period and of great relevance to the city: the reform of the presbytery of the Church of Our Lady of Glory, and the current ongoing interventions in the Cathedral.

A instrumentalização do Ordo Fratrum Minorum como um dos elementos da normatização e homogeneização litúrgica da Cúria Romana a partir do ano 1215 é a tarefa do nosso estudo. Através da análise do Evangeliarium contido no códice Breviarium Sancti Francisci que está do Mosteiro de Santa Clara de Assis, verificaremos a influência das práticas litúrgicas na origem da fraternitas até sua composição como Ordo. Pretendemos investigar a postura política eclesiástica do Papa Inocêncio III (1198-1216) na sua homogeneização Litúrgica dentro do Corpus Iuris Canonici e do Concílio de Latrão IV. Essa homogeneização influenciou as relações sociais das cidades centro-setentrionais da Itália através do calendário do Breviarium Sancti Francisci. A oratio romane teve influência direta na vida monacal e laical no estabelecimento de horários predeterminados para o Officium Divinum; nas leituras doutrinais oficiais da Cúria Romana para os movimentos populares e na padronização da Oratio Ecclesie até nossos dias. Nas ordens mendicantes, na sua missão natus pro nobis in via, propagadoras deste Breviarium Romanum, o mesmo serviu como parâmetro para análise dos movimentos populares propensos à heresia. No caso específico do Ordo Fratrum Minorum, o Breviarium Romanum contribuiu como veículo institucionalizador espiritual com a lectio divina, pautada por um Evangeliarium, Hymnarium e um Psalmorum, que influenciaram a vida da fraternitas desde a sua gênese, além de ser um instrumento jurídico e ideológico de homogeneização e centralização do poder na plenitude potestatis papae. Analisaremos o Evangeliarium como fonte primária para a composição dos primeiros escritos de Frei Francisco de Assis, e por fim a contribuição da Ordo Fratrum Minorum na composição do Officium Divinum.
The instrumentalization of Ordo Fratrum Minorum as one of the liturgic standardization and homogenization elements of the Roman Curia as from 1215 is the task at hand in this study. Through the analysis of Evangeliarium contained in the Breviarium Sancti Francisci codex that is kept in St. Clare of Assisi monastery, we will verify the influence of the liturgic practices in the origin of fraternitas up until their composition as Ordo. We intend to investigate the ecclesiastical political attitude of Pope Innocent III based on his liturgic homogenization within the Corpus Iuris Canonici and the Fourth Council of the Lateran. Such homogenization influenced social relations in Italian center-north cities with the Breviarium Sancti Francisci calendar. Oratio romane had direct impact on both monk and lay life because of the prescription of a schedule for Officium Divinum; on the official doctrinal readings from the Roman Curia to the popular movements and on the standardization of Oratio Ecclesie until today. Within the mendicant orders, equipped with their natus pro nobis in via mission, propellers of this Breviarium Romanum, the document served as a parameter for analysis of the social movements that would be prone to heresy. In the case of Ordo Fratrum Minorum, in particular, the Breviarium Romanum contributed was as an institutionalizing spiritual vehicle using the lectio divina, based on one Evangeliarium, one Hymnarium and one Psalmorum which influenced the life of the fraternitas since its genesis, apart from being a juridical and ideological instrument of homogenization and centralization of power under the plenitude of potestatis papae. We will analyze Evangeliarium as a primary source for the composition of Fray Francis of Assisis first writings, and eventually the contribution of Ordo Fratrum Minorum in the composition of Officium Divinum.

L' élaboration d'un catalogue épigraphique et prosopographique relatif aux membres de la curie de Carthage et aux inscriptions qui les attestent nous a permis d'explorer cette élite municipale. Nous avons pu constater qu'il s'agit d'une élite dynamique, hétérogène et particulièrement renouvelable. Composé à l'origine des colons italiens et des affranchis, le corps décurional carthaginois s'ouvre petit à petit aux africains romanisés qui finirent par dominer à partir du II e s. Ap. J. -C. Aux décurions citoyens de Carthage s'ajoute un grand nombre des décurions originaires d'autres cités. . . L'ordo de Carthage était un passage vers la plus grande notabilité. L'étude des pratiques évergétiques et des ressources économiques des membres de la curie de Carthage nous a permis de constater qu'il s'agit d'une élite particulièrement riche et dont la fortune est basée sur des ressources diversifiées. Le prestige de l' appartenance à l' ordo decurionum carthaginois explique la concurrence acharnée entre les notables pour l’obtention des honneurs.

I argue for a performative reading of the Summa theologiae in relation to Thomas Aquinas’s coordination of the trinitarian processions with the trinitarian image and the process of teaching and learning. Specifically, I argue that the Summa is skillfully arranged in order to initiate the student into the graced process of conceiving words about the Triune God that burst forth into love—the very processions by which we are ad imaginem Dei and become more like God. Learning to speak truly and love rightly prepares students to preach about God within their culture, just as Thomas’s own efforts to preach the trinitarian mystery indicate. My argument takes into account Thomas’s life as a Dominican preacher and teacher in thirteenth-century Europe as well as his theology of the mixed life of contemplation and action. With respect to the latter, Thomas maintained that the Dominican must draw in contemplation what he will pour out later on in preaching (contemplata aliis tradere). Thomas wrote the Summa theologiae with this pastoral orientation in mind. In light of this historical context, I argue that the Summa is a performative text and transformative encounter with sacra doctrina written to prepare Dominican students to hand on the fruits of their contemplation. This interpretation of the Summa theologiae and Thomas’s trinitarian theology enriches standard contemporary interpretations of the psychological analogy

This dissertation is a critical study of the paradigm of Liturgical Theology. Focus in this systematic inquiry has been on the Russian school with the focal point in the works of Alexander Schmemann, who was active in the late 20th century. The main question of the thesis concerns the relation between theory and practice in Liturgical Theology.                       It is claimed that the relation between theory and practice corresponds to the relation between ritual action and communicative action. The former concerns the identity founded on the unavoidable alterity immanent in life, but also transcending life through a holistic encounter with life, which enables us to express a holistic attitude to life and the entire world. The latter concerns the equally unavoidable rationalization of life which gives rise to a continuous atomization of life through science and the process of acquiring facts and data.                       The thesis makes use of different theories for the reaching of an explanatory theory in connection to theory and practice. Foremost the Theory of Communicative Action in the works of Jürgen Habermas and the re-interpretation of disclosure by Nikolas Kompridis is used. It is claimed tthat ritual action is connected to a primary disclosure attached to otherness with the intention of revealing the identity of the Ecclesia. Without identity, we are left with a never-ending debate and a continuous atomization where every answer exponentially provokes more questions. Communicative action then is connected with a secondary co-disclosure with the intention for the reaching of mutual understanding, making subjects accountable and responsible. Without communicative action we are bound on a long walk into the never ending sea of being. The missionary imperative in the Ecclesia is dependent on the co-existence of ritual action and communicative action.

As I hope to show, a philosophical study of love is highly relevant today, since the sciences have not adequately answered the perennial question: What is love?; Since the time of Socrates, the idea of love and the conception of the human heart have been devalued by thinkers who, by definition, are known as "lovers of wisdom." Considered pejoratively as "the passions," the subject of emotion was deemed inferior to thought centered upon the human faculty of reason. Many studies in the sciences, from biology to psychology, claim to have pointed us to the source of the human experience of love--but do they help us to understand love properly? In order to provide a full consideration of love in my philosophical research, I will focus my analysis on love under the philosophical lens of phenomenology. Known as the study of firsthand human experience, phenomenology became the influential school of thought for many German philosophers in the early twentieth century. My research will closely examine the writings of Max Scheler, Dietrich von Hildebrand, and Jean-Luc Marion within the context of this tradition. Moving from a justification of love in philosophy to the topic of self-love, I hope to define effectively what it means to love another. I shall also attempt to disambiguate the common assumptions regarding the nature of love. Is there a fundamental difference between the phenomenon of "falling in love" and of love itself? I question whether love, in its essence, is defined by the element of choice--of a willful emotional giving of oneself to another--and whether it can be distinguished from a passive feeling and an active loving will. I aim to bring the human affective sphere into the full light of philosophical inquiry, considering whether love is a moral act of the will that involves a total participation of the self--in mind, body, and spirit. Love is arguably the most powerful of the human emotions, one that elevates the human sphere of emotions and the ethical existence beyond simple desire.

Le débat sur la causa fidei au commencement du Concile de Constance allait acquérir une importance particulière avec la fuite de Jean XXIII. Ce qui était en jeu dans les procès de Constance, après la fuite du Pontife, était essentiellement la définition de la relation entre le Pape et le Concile qui avait été scrupuleusement laissée de côté tant que le Pape appuyait le Concile. Pour cette raison, ces procès furent une scène particulièrement adéquate pour déployer la supériorité conciliaire dans un contexte de grande faiblesse institutionnelle. Si, par rapport à d'autres questions, ces problèmes relatifs à la foi et la causa Jan Hus étaient de moindre importance, ils servaient en même temps de forum pour mettre en scène les principales conceptions de l'autorité du Concile. A partir du moment où celui-ci réclamait pour lui la plenitudo potestatis, il apparaissait comme une nouvelle sphère de pouvoir qui demandait à être définie. This debate about the causa fidei, which took place at the beginning of the Council of Constance, would become particularly relevant alter John XXlIl s flight. What was at stake in the Constance processes alter the Pope fled the Council was basically the definition of the relationship between the Pope and the Council, which had been dutifully overlooked while the Pope supported the Council. For this reason the processes were a particularly suitable forum for the display of conciliar superiority in a context of significant institutional weakness. While compared with other issues the relevance of these matters of faith and the causa Jan Hus were minor, at the same time they provided a background against which the main ideas regarding conciliar authority could be represented. By claiming the plenitudo potestatis for the Council there emerged a new sphere of power which required a redefinition. Liturgical and symbolical practices, but also judicial practices appear to create and define this new sphere of power. Indeed it is through judicial praxis that the Council sought to affirm its own iurisdictio and demonstrate its potestas executiva as the ultimate instance within the Church ordo iudicarius

A rota via condensação aldólica com a β-lapachona (4a) produziu as seguintes o-quinonas metídios contendo grupos puxadores de elétrons (ex. carbonilas): 2,2-dimetil-6-(1-metil-2-oxo-propilideno)-2,3,4,6-tetraidro-benzo[h]cromen-5-ona (67); 2,2-dimetil-6-(2-oxo-butilideno)-2,3,4,6-tetraidro-benzo[h]cromen-5-ona (68); 2,2-Dimetil-6-(1-carboxi etil-3-oxo-2-butirideno) 2,3,4,6-tetraidro-benzo [h]cromen-5-ona (69a) e 2,2-Dimetil-6-(1-carboxi etil-3-oxo-4-butirideno) 2,3,4,6-tetraidro-benzo [h]cromen-5-ona (69b). Em continuidade aos estudos foi desenvolvida uma síntese em uma etapa de 1-diazo-1H,2H-naftaleno-2-onas a partir de 1,2-naftoquinonas p-toluenossulfonil hidrazina em metanol a temperatura ambiente. Por este procedimento foram produzidas as seguintes substâncias: 6-diazo-2,2-dimetil-2,3,4,6-tetraidro-benzo [h] cromen-5-ona (70); 5-diazo-3-diidro-2,2-dimetil-4-oxa-2H,3H-nafto[1,2-b]furano (71); 1-diazo-2-oxa-1H,2H-naftaleno (73); 1,2-dicloro-3-Oxo-4-diazo-3,4-diidro-naftaleno (75); 1-metoxi-4-diazo-3-oxa-1H,2H-naftaleno (76); ácido 6-diazo-2,2-dimetil-oxa-2,3,4,6-5-tetraidro-2H-benzo[h]cromeno-3-sulfônico (78); 2,2-dimetil-3-hidroxi-6-diazo-5-oxa-2,3,4,6-tetraidro-2H-benzo[h] cromene-5-ona (80); 4-diazo-3-oxa-1-sulfonato-1H,2H-naftolato de sódio (82). A diazo lapachona 70 foi testada contra o Trypanossoma cruzi obtendo-se um valor de ED50/24 h = 4961,1 864,3 m que quando comparado com o valor de ED50/24 h do cristal violeta, mostrou-se que esta substância é inativa (ED50, cristal violeta/ ED50, de 70 = 0,1). As diazo lapachonas 70 e 71 foram testadas contra vários tipos de bactérias patogênicas e da mesma forma mostraram-se inativas. Os testes de atividades biológicas com 70 e 71 indicaram que a substituição de uma das carbonilas do sistema o-naftoquinonônico por um grupo diazo reduziu as suas capacidade de gerarem espécies reativas de oxigênio no interior dos microorganismos testados.
Several synthetic routes for preparing o-quinone methides were studied. By using an aldolic condensation route with β-lapachone (4a), it was possible to obtain the following o-quinone methides having electron withdrawing group (e.g. carbonyls): 2,2-dimethyl-6-(1-methyl-2-oxo-propylidene)-2,3,4,6-tetrahydro-benzo[H]chromen-5-one (67); 2,2-dimethyl-6-(2-oxo-butylidene)-2,3,4,6-tetrahydro-benzo[H]chromen-5-one (68); 2,2-Dimetil-6-(1-carboxi etil-3-oxo-2-butirideno) 2,3,4,6-tetraidro-benzo [H]cromen-5-ona (69a) e 2,2-Dimetil-6-(1-carboxi etil-3-oxo-4-butirideno) 2,3,4,6-tetraidro-benzo [H]cromen-5-ona (69b).In continuation of these studies, a new regiospecific one-step synthesis of 1-diazo-1H,2H-naphthalen-2-ones, from 1,2-naphthoquinones and p-toluenesulfonylhydrazine in methanol solution at room temperature, was developed. By using this procedures several new substances were prepared: 6-diazo-2,2-dimethyl-2,3,4,6-tetrahydro-benzo[h]chromen-5-one (70); 5-diazo-3-dihydro-2,2-dimethyl-4-oxa-2H,3H-naphthto[1,2-b]furan (71); 1-diazo-2-oxa-1H,2H-naphthalen (73); 1,2-dichloro-3-oxo-4-diazo-3,4-dihydro-naphthalen (75); 1-methoxi-4-diazo-3-oxa-1H,2H-naphthalen (76); 6-diazo-2,2-dimethyl-oxa-2,3,4,6-5-tetrahydro-2H-benzo[h]chromen-3-sulfonic acid (78); 2,2-dimethyl-3-hydroxi-6-diazo-5-oxa-2,3,4,6-tetrahydro-2H-benzo[h]chromen-5-one (80); sodium 4-diazo-3-oxa-1-sulfonate-1H,2H-naphtholate (82). The diazo β-lapachone (70) was tested against Trypanossoma cruzi yielding a value of ED50/24 h = 4961,1 864,3 m, which compared with crystal violet (ED50, crystal violet/ ED50, de 70 = 0,1) indicated that 70 is inactive. The diazo β-lapachones 70 and 71 were also tested against several type of phatogenic bacteria, but as before they were inactive.The preliminary biological tests with 70 and 71 indicated that the substitution of one of the carbonyl of the o-naphthoquinone moieties by a diazo group reduced the ability of the o-quinones to generate radical oxygen species (ROS) in side the microorganisms tested.

Leggendo l’appartenenza al Collegio di quei membri che lo compongono uti universi attraverso il fondamentale valore ecclesiologico che ha l’inserimento sacramentale di essi nel “simbolismo dei Dodici” (cap. I), si giunge a configurare la compagine di coloro che sono uniti nel ministero episcopale nei termini di “universitas collegialis personarum inaequali iure" (cap. III), appurando - appunto a partire dalla questione terminologica di “collegium” (cap. II) - come sia effettivamente possibile dar vita a riflessioni sempre più pregnanti sul contributo che il pensiero teologico fornisce ai fini della strutturazione anche giuridica dell’empiria interna al carattere normativo della Chiesa. Può risultare così più agevole individuare le relazioni tra quei nuclei di significato che hanno condotto, in ambito cattolico, sia ad una nuova messa a punto e valorizzazione (teorica e pratica) della dottrina della collegialità episcopale in seno al Concilio Vaticano II sia al sempre più vivace prospettarsi di interessanti orizzonti in sede di riflessione canonistica ed ecclesiologica attuale.
The present work has the scientific aim of endowing with an adequate juridical dogmatics the complex reality that is constituted by the configuration of the internal relations of the College of Bishops, advancing also in the understanding of the intrinsically communitarian aspect of the episcopal office as a result of the relationship of unitary succession to the apostolic office of divine law. By interpreting the belonging to the College of those members who make it up uti universi through the fundamental ecclesiological value of their sacramental insertion in the "symbolism of the Twelve" (chapter I), one arrives at configuring the group of those who are united in the episcopal ministry in terms of "universitas collegialis personarum inaequali iure" (chapter III), demonstrating - starting precisely from the terminological question of "collegium" (chapter II) - how it is possible to give rise to increasingly pregnant reflections on the contribution that theological thought provides for the purposes of structuring, also juridically, the empirical internal normative character of the Church. In this way, it will be easier to identify the relationships between those nuclei of meaning that have led, in the Catholic sphere, both to a new development and enhancement (theoretical and practical) of the doctrine of episcopal collegiality within the Second Vatican Council and to the increasingly lively prospect of interesting horizons in the current canonical and ecclesiological reflection.

Många patienter upplever en känsla av oro och frustration under vårdvistelsen. Obehandlad oro kan leda till ökade komplikationer. Oro och ångest är vanligt förekommande hos patienter, men går ofta sjuksköterskan obemärkt förbi. Det är av betydelse att sjuksköterskan kan identifiera och kommunicera om känslor med patienten, samt känna trygghet i sitt sätt att kommunicera. Syftet var att belysa hur sjuksköterskan genom kommunikation kan hjälpa patienten att reducera oro och ångest under vårdvistelsen. Studien genomfördes som en litteraturstudie baserad på 16 vetenskapliga artiklar. Resultatet visade att identifiering är en förutsättning för att kunna reducera oro hos patienten. Faktorer som ökar oro är rädsla, tid och bristande kommunikationsfärdigheter hos sjuksköterskan. Patientcentrerad vård, samt interpersonell förmåga är av stor betydelse för att minska oro. Effektiv reducering av oro sker när sjuksköterskan tillämpar interaktionsprocesser. Betydelsen ligger i att finna kommunikativa tekniker som sjuksköterskan kan använda i mötet med patienten. Ett sätt kan vara att använda det sokratiska samtalet för att kommunicera om känslor. Vidare forskning om det sokratiska samtalets betydelse i omvårdnaden, för att minska oro hos patienten är av intresse.

Abstract:
This dissertation is an ecclesiological study, conducted in the form of a case study that examines worship praxis in six parishes in the diocese of Luleå between 1990 and 2009. The specific research problem of the dissertation is whether the organizational changes that took place in connection with the relational change between Church and State in 2000 are reflected in local worship and in church service related decisions in diocese and parishes, and how the concrete relationship between worship praxis and regulations is manifested. The research problem also includes what ecclesiological impact the organizational changes may have had in the studied parishes and what the empirical results can reveal about the ecclesiality of the Church. The dissertation addresses four research questions. In response to the first question: “Are the organizational changes of 2000 reflected in local worship and in worship related decisions in dioceses and parishes and, if so, in what way?” it is noted that organizational change is reflected indirectly in expressions of growing autonomization. In response to the second question "What is the relationship between worship praxis and regulations in the Church ordinance and The Swedish Church manual 1986?” there is a tangible difference between worship praxis and regulations throughout the studied period, i.e. even before the relational change, although the difference over time has increased. Regarding the third question "What impact could the organizational change, associated with the relational change between the Church of Sweden and the State, have had on the ecclesiologies in the worship praxis which the studied parishes represent and hold?” I have not found that the new order has affected, in any direct way, the parishes’ implicit ecclesiologies during the time span covered by the study. Rather, it seems that the Church ordinance that was established at the time of the relational change has reinforced an already existing implicit ecclesiology where the parishes are considered to be autonomous. The fourth question "How can the empirical result be interpreted theologically with regard to its implicit ecclesiology, and what does that say about the ecclesiality of the Church of Sweden?” The theological interpretation of autonomization indicates an overall "immanent ecclesiology", which can be visualized in current praxis in the diocese of Luleå. The ambition that the Church of Sweden despite organizational change in the year 2000 would be the same also indicates a similar implicit ecclesiology. This is because the Church was not thought to change its identity despite being subjected to a revision in form. The study shows that the arsenal of theories and the methodical approach have implications for how much can be clarified and that different ways of studying the Church should be combined. The present study is an example of this by the study's abductive approach and exploratory character, which have allowed both interaction between praxis-related empiricism and theory and interaction between descriptive analysis and hermeneutic interpretation. The study also shows that “ordo-related theories” may be applicable to the study of the Church as an organizational structure.

Darbe analizuojami teisės aktai, atlikti KD koncentracijos tyrimai Radviliškio mieste. Miesto oro tyrimų vietos buvo pasirinktos atsižvelgiant į transporto eismo intensyvumą judriausiose miesto gatvėse. Išanalizavus gautus duomenis buvo nustatyta, kad dažniausi kietųjų dalelių koncentracijos leistinos normos viršijimai buvo nustatyti intensyviausiuose gatvėse. Išnagrinėta aplinkos oro kokybė Lietuvoje ir Radviliškio mieste. Gegužės mėnesį viršijimų nustatyta labai daug, taigi kietųjų dalelių koncentracijai įtakos turi meteorologinės sąlygos. Siekiant pagerinti Radviliškio miesto oro taršos situaciją siūloma apriboti automobilių eismą didžiausios taršos zonose (pvz. įvesti vienos krypties eismą), o automobilius be veikiančių katalitinių filtrų pripažinti techniškai netvarkingais. Individualių gyvenamųjų namų apšildymui naudoti ekologiškai švaresnį kurą, skatinti gyventojus efektyviau apšiltinti savo būstą naudojant naujas technologijas, laistyti ir plauti gatves esant sausiems orams.
The paper analyzes the legislation, to carry out studies of concentration KD Radviliškio city. Urban air monitoring site was selected on the basis of traffic intensity of the busiest streets of the city.After analyzing the data, it was found that the most common particle concentration levels below threshold levels were set on the streets of the most intense and on the streets. Examined the ambient air quality in Lithuania and Radviliškio city.In May, the exceedances found a great deal, so that particle concentration is affected by meteorological conditions. In order to improve Radviliškio urban air pollution situation is proposed to restrict car traffic areas of pollution (eg introduction of one-way traffic) and cars without catalytic active filters considered technically incorrectly. Individual residential heating use environmentally cleaner fuels, encouraging residents to better insulate your home by using new technology, irrigation and wash the streets in dry weather.

Syftet med arbetet är att få kunskap om hur klasslärare samt specialpedagoger arbetar med elever som fått en dyslexidiagnos. Utöver hur de arbetar med eleverna försöker arbetet också reda ut på vilket sätt de upplever att deras arbete med eleven ger resultat. För att undersöka detta har två klasslärare respektive två specialpedagoger intervjuats om två elever med dyslexi som de samarbetar med. Mitt sammantagna intryck är att arbetet med dyslexieleverna ser liknande ut för klasslärarna. De försöker sitta enskilt tillsammans med den elev med dyslexidiagnos så ofta de får möjlighet, eftersom de upplever att det fungerar bra för eleven. Vidare försöker de ta tillvara på elevernas starka sidor som i dessa båda fall är att tala istället för att skriva eller läsa. Dock känner de inte att deras arbete med eleverna givit något specifikt resultat, utan att situationen ser snarlik ut för eleverna nu som när de kom till deras klasser. Specialpedagogerna arbetar mycket olika. Den ena fokuserar på fonologi och lästränar därför mycket med eleven, medan den andra specialpedagogen använder sig främst av bilder och av olika typsnitt på det läsmaterial som givits av klassläraren. Genom att i framtiden fördjupa denna undersökning är det möjligt att se om någon förändrig skett i hur man arbetar med elever som har dyslexi och om det arbetet ger annorlunda resultat.
The purpose of this essay is to get knowledge of how classteachers along with remidial teachers work with students that has a dyslexia diagnosis. In addition to how they work with the students the essay is also investigating what kind of result they feel their work with the students are giving them.To examine this two classteachers and two remidial teachers have been interviewed about the two students with dyslexia that they are working with.My all in all impression is that the work with the dyslexiastudents looks the same for the classteachers. They try to work seperately with the student with a dyslexiadiagnosis as often as they are given the opportunity, since they feel that this is what works out good for the student.Further more they are trying to preserve the strong sides of the students, which in both cases were talking instead of writing and reading. Still they do not feel that their work with the students have given any particular result, that the situation looks almost the same as when the students came to their classes.The Remedial teachers work very differantely. One of them is focusing on phonology and therefore does plenty of reading exercises with the student, while the other remedial teacher mostly uses pictures and different typesorts on the readingmaterial that has been given by the classteacher.By in the future make deeper studies on this examination it is possible to see if there is any change in how people work with student that has dyslexia and if that work has a different outcome.

Genom tilltal och omtal med olika personliga pronomen kategoriserar och definierar vi oss själva och andra, och förstår på så sätt vårt sociala sammanhang. Inom reklamen, som i högsta grad handlar om identiteter, finns trots detta ett förvånansvärt litet intresse av pronomen, varför denna studie har som ambition att undersöka just detta. Vilket pronomen bör användas i vilket sammanhang? Med avseende på mottagaren undersöker studien ett du-tilltal, ett ni-tilltal och ett tilltal utan pronomen. Med avseende på avsändaren undersöker studien ett vi-omtal och ett omtal utan pronomen. Genom en enkätundersökning och intervjuer fastställs slutsatsen att reklamskribentens val av pronomen bör baseras på en god kännedom om målgrupp, produktgrupp och varumärket ifråga. Som tilltal för mottagaren bör ett du användas, eller inget pronomen alls. Du:et bör användas när annonsen ska spegla en individuell köp- eller användarupplevelse, när produkten är dyr och exklusiv eller när mottagaren ska lyftas fram ur mängden. Att utelämna pronomen kan istället passa när du:et upplevs som alltför påträngande. Studien kommer också fram till att ett ni-tilltal helst bör undvikas. Vad gäller omtalspronomen för avsändaren framkommer att det klassiska vi:et både kan och bör uteslutas i vissa situationer. Vi:et upplevs peka på en avlägsen men mänsklig relation där mottagaren till viss del känner sig exkluderad. Att istället utesluta omtalspronomen leder till att mottagaren känner sig stå närmare avsändaren vars budskap också upplevs som sannare.

Syftet med studien är att undersöka och synliggöra, dels hur ett urval av lärare i årkurs 4-6 förhåller sig till fenomenet läxa, dels utsagor i tidigare forskning. Såväl som att belysa empirin i ljuset av olika teorier om lärande och utbildning. Genom detta vill vi skapa förståelse för variationer i åsikter gentemot läxor och nyansera den pågående debatten.   Studien tar sin utgångspunkt ur syfte och frågeställningar. Valet av metod är dels en kvalitativ intervjustudie som syftar till att undersöka lärares sätt att tala om fenomenet läxor, dels en gedigen genomgång av tidigare forskning för att synliggöra utsagor som kommer till uttryck om läxan.   Hos de intervjuade lärarna kan vi se att samtliga använder sig av läxan som ett komplement till sin undervisning. Lärarna talar om läxor på många olika sätt, de beskriver dels egna avsikter med de läxor som de ger ut till sina elever, dels framkommer det även en del tvivel kring läxans nytta i allmänhet. Flera av lärarna uttrycker en avsaknad av pedagogiska diskussioner om läxor och en önskan om att utbyta erfarenheter med varandra. Tidigare forskning kring läxor är tvetydig och gör det svårt att finna stöd i läxfrågan då det återfinns både argument för och emot dess existens. Vår instinktiva känsla är att det behövs fler pedagogiska diskussioner lärare sinsemellan kring läxans plats i den specifika verksamheten.

Abstract:
In 1990 a small self-published journal/magazine called The Watcher was distributed among New Zealand's occult underground. The Watcher described itself as 'the New Zealand Voice of the Left Hand Path', and was published as the journal of the Order of the Left Hand Path. The Watcher and the Order directed its attentions towards those occultists who identified themselves as Satanists and, as such, the journal articulated a distinctly Satanic philosophy and perspective. However, as the journal evolved and developed, renaming itself as The Heretic and The Nexus in later years, there arose alongside Satanic philosophy an increasing emphases on what could be called esoteric Nazism or esoteric Nationalism. Given that the editor of The Watcher was Kerry Bolton, a man who has been immersed in New Zealand's Nationalist/neo-Nazi movement since the early 1970s, such an increasingly political orientation was perhaps unsurprising. This thesis examines the way in which the Order bought Satanic and neo-Nazi ideologies together and the resulting synthesis. It also looks at the transition from being a Satanic order led by a neo-Nazi to an openly neo-Nazi Order that uses Satanic philosophy to justify and popularise its conception of National Socialism.

SAMMANFATTNING Nyckelord: Oro, barn, preoperativ, interventioner, narkos, omvårdnadsåtgärder.   Bakgrund: Många barn känner oro inför operation och anestesi. När barnet känner oro kan det leda till lidande och försvåra vårdkontakter. Syfte: Studiens syfte var att sammanställa och beskriva interventioner som kan lindra barns preoperativa oro/oro inför anestesi. Metod: En systematisk litteraturöversikt genomfördes för att sammanställa den senaste forskningen inom det valda området. Databaserna PubMed och CINAHL användes för att hitta de 21 inkluderade artiklarna. Samtliga inkluderade artiklar var randomiserade kontrollerade studier. Resultat: Flera olika interventioner fanns beskrivna, men resultatet visade en tvetydig bild av interventionernas effekt. Ett resultat som framkom var att distraktion fungerade lika bra eller bättre jämfört med sedvanlig vård och/eller premedicinering. Utvidgad information och föräldranärvaro visade sig däremot inte kunna lindra barnets preoperativa oro/oro inför anestesi. Slutsats: Det är viktigt att specialistsjuksköterskan inom barn och ungdom har kännedom om vilka interventioner som kan lindra barnets preoperativa/oro inför anestesi. Distraktioner i olika former är lika bra eller bättre än sedvanlig vård och/eller premedicinering i syfte att lindra den preoperativa oron hos barnet. Att tvetydigt resultat angående interventionernas effekt framkommit i litteraturöversikten kan tyda på att effekten är situationsbetingad och att en ökad grad av individanpassning behöver utvecklas. Mer forskning behövs inom området för att tydliggöra vilka ytterligare interventioner som vårdpersonalen kan använda för att minska risken för att ett preoperativt lidande uppstår hos barnet.
