Abstract:
The study is devoted to scientific provisions and principles of economic development of construction organizations in modern conditions. Based on the study of the theory of economic development, a retrospective analysis of the cyclical nature of construction production, the main factors and directions of their interaction are systematized. Economic and mathematical modeling of the real economic development of construction production was carried out. New approaches to assessing and ensuring the effective functioning of construction organizations are proposed, including substantiation of the target setting of the organization's activities, classification of factor space multidimensional statistical analysis, determination of the optimal ratios of the main technical and economic indicators that ensure the financial and economic stability of construction organizations. The developed models of innovative development of a construction organization are based on increasing the level of total resource productivity. It has been proven that there is a close relationship between the level of economic development and the financial sustainability of a construction organization. An increase in the level of innovative activity in construction production leads to an increase in the financial strength of the organization. The revealed relationship gave the basis to form an algorithm for managing the innovative development of a construction organization on the basis of structure regulation of production costs. The forms and methods of stimulating the economic growth of construction organizations have been substantiated, which consist in improving the system of relations between the participants in the investment process being a significant reserve for economic growth.

Abstract:
The organizational and economic mechanism includes the organizational and economic blocks. The article considers the elements of the organizational component of the investment development mechanism the size of the organization, the organizational and legal form and the specialization of the organization, which influence the investment development of the industry. The research was carried out on the basis of the official accounting statements of organizations of the Russian Federation for 2016 of the database of the Federal State Statistics Service of the Russian Federation using the software of the consulting financial and analytical company Akon. Groups of agricultural organizations were identified by type of activity. It is concluded that small forms of enterprises prevail in the sectors of dairy and beef cattle breeding, and potato farming that determines their lower profitability and limits the possibilities for investing at their own funds. In specialized large and medium-sized organizations (production of grain and oilseeds, and sugar beet production) the efficiency of production is higher against the mixed production. The predominantly joint-stock form of management among large and medium-sized agricultural organizations expands the possibilities of investment activity.

Abstract:
Social changes, transformation of human activity from labour to creative work, alteration of material conditions and use of new production factors are bound to cause changes in the organization itself. In the article the author tries to show how the organization could change in the future. The author depicts how the organization changed under the influence of its activity development and under the impact of the external environment. Organization models in industrial, post-industrial and information society are described. Some of these models are designed by the author himself. The organization model in economy of knowledge was considered in detail. The author’s concept implies that in economy of knowledge features and aims of organizations of business and social field will be somewhat similar. Organizations of the future will differ from current organizations in the following way: 1) another organizational culture, which will foster creativity and freedom of man; 2) broad application of knowledge in all fields of organization’s activity; 3) continuous, wide use of innovation in order to attain organization’s goals; 4) high degree of specialization; 5) minimum number of hierarchical levels in management, reducing the use of the command (project) approach to work (task) fulfillment, changing the role of management. Theoretical conclusions are corroborated by examples from world practice, which are not so numerous today.

Abstract:
Coordination of jaw muscle activity for speech production sometimes has been modeled using nonspeech behaviors. This orientation has been especially true in representations of mandibular movement in which the synergy of jaw muscles for speech production has been suggested to be derived from the central pattern generator (CPG) for chewing. The present investigation compared the coordination of EMG activity in mandibular muscles over a range of speech and nonspeech tasks. Results of a cross-correlational analysis between EMG signals demonstrated that the muscle synergies of the mandibular system depend on task demands. Contrary to some of the models discussed, continuous speech production yielded activation patterns that were clearly not related to coordinative patterns generated by the chewing CPG.

Clos, Clémence. "Des démarches de DD/RSE à la dégradation du rapport social de travail dans le secteur hôtelier." Thesis, Sorbonne Paris Cité, 2016. http://www.theses.fr/2016USPCC259.

Full text
Abstract:
This thesis analyses the practices built from the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and the Sustainable Development (SD) and the way they transform the French hospitality industry. We propose an intermediate concept of SD/CSR efforts to qualify all these speeches and practices. This thesis first characterizes these efforts to show that they are the result of successful and powerful actors strategies in the industry, the luxe hotels and hotel which belong to chain. Embodying new differentiation strategies, it makes this two hotel type stronger and participates to the process of sectorization by strengthens the sectorial processus. The insertion of SD/CSR efforts in luxury hotels is made by outsourcing, whereas the hotels which belong to chains integrate it into their process of production. They standardize SD/CSR efforts through an industrial model of production. We prove that the way these hotels integrate the SD/CSR participates of the degradation of the wage labor nexus, particularly regarding the working conditions and the forms of mobilization of the employees. We also demonstrate that such as they are built, the SD/CSR efforts as instruments in the service of the corporate strategy, strengthen the technical division and gendered of labor, participate in the intensification labor, and they give to mobilization speeches a revival with the idea or nature protection

Abstract:
Abstract Many manufacturing organizations are losing their competitive position due to a large number of reasons discussed in this paper. To regain a competitive position, organizations must clearly understand their goals. The Goal for a manufacturing organization should be making money now and in the future [1,2]. Producing products, high utilization, keeping people busy, high quality, good customer service, etc., are means to the Goal but not ‘The Goal’ itself. To achieve an organization’s goal, management must turn to OPT. OPT (Optimized Production Technology) is the original and most advanced constraint based advanced planning and scheduling system [3,4]. It is the practical implementation of the Theory of Constraints in the modeling, planning and scheduling of activity based business. OPT has proven its applicability in job shop, repetitive manufacturing and process industries all over the world. Therefore, shop floor issues, such as bottlenecks, setups, lot sizes, priorities, random fluctuations and performance measurements, are treated in great depth. The OPT philosophy incorporates nine rules which, when followed, can help move the organization towards the goal of making money. Underlying each of the rules is the understanding that effective management of an organization takes a global perspective of all resources and their interrelationship to achieve the goal. These rules coupled with a set of measurements: Throughput, Inventory and Operating Expenses, would lead any manufacturing organization to fulfilling the goal. Since few literatures have covered the general application of these measures, this paper will focus only on Throughput. The paper will discuss the step-by-step implementation procedures that would help industry in designing their systems for throughput.

Abstract:
Risk management is part of the management process within an organization that can lead to the identification and implementation of potential factors that may threaten the security of the organization, measuring the severity of these factors, reducing effects through prevention and protection, transferring those effects that cannot be managed by the management of the organization. The presented study offers a specific approach to the profile production by identifying and evaluating the risks in the management activity within an organization whose object of activity is the manufacture of certain types of agricultural and forestry machines and equipment. The analysis presented through this study led to beneficial conclusions on the financial diagnosis synthesized by the authors in strengths and weaknesses of the organization, in substantiating opportunities and threats, respectively in assessing possible risks. The study can be used as a model for other organizations and attention can be focused on the risk of decision making from the historical perspective of the scientific theory of decision. It should be emphasized that the paper presented is a point of view of the authors on how to develop and implement the specific process of risk management, how to make decisions and not ultimately to identify the most appropriate techniques, methods and tools that can be applied in the decision-making process within an organization with object of activity focused on the manufacture of forestry agricultural machines and equipment.

Abstract:
Problems in the process of product development often have roots in project management-related issues, such as communication flow, teamwork or even lack of knowledge about how to implement a simultaneous project. Hands-on activities based on real-world situations can be used to improve the learning process and train the abilities of future project managers, designers and producers, while stimulating participants to reflect on and discuss the group’s actions. This article describes an application of an activity referred to as the Plaster House Game. In this activity, students are organized in groups containing teams of designers and producers, which are located in separate rooms, with the goal of designing and building a miniature plaster house with provided components, using only online communication between teams and dealing with scheduling and production constraints set by the instructors. The work demonstrates that the use of simulation games can reinforce the learning process and allow students to rapidly identify potential problems that may occur in professional practice. It is also possible to show that the strategy chosen for project implementation, combined with better organization of work, can have a significant effect on the results of the exercise.

Abstract:
Korea Electric Power Industry Code (KEPIC), a set of integrated standards applicable to the design, construction and operation of electric power facilities including nuclear power plants, has been developed on the basis of referring to the prevailing U.S. codes and standards which had been applied to the electric power facilities in Korea. KEPIC has been applied to the construction of Ulchin Nuclear Units 5&6 since 1997 as per the endorsement of Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MEST), and is being completely applied to the construction of Shin-Kori and Shin-Wolsung Nuclear Power Plants (NPPs) in Korea. Although the technical requirements of KEPIC related to design and inspections for pressure vessels have been developed on the basis of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC), Korea Electric Association (KEA) that is KEPIC maintenance organization is trying to find and improve unreasonable requirements based on the acquired experiences for the continuous construction and operation of NPPs. In the administrative requirements, KEPIC, unlike ASME, adopted not only mechanical field but also electrical field related to NPPs. Furthermore, the qualifying system for services such as Nondestructive Examination, Heat Treatment, Design and Equipment Qualification Organization was adopted to improve safety and reliability for NPPs. In the technical requirements, KEA has been performing betterment study such as pressures for system hydrostatic test, temperatures for Post-Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) of P-No. 4 materials, counterbore for Pre-Service Inspection (PSI) of elbows in piping systems. The construction method of Steel Plate Concrete (SC) structure studied by Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. (KHNP), has been adopted to KEPIC, recently. In the case of inservice NPPs, KEA is trying to establish the equivalent material tables for ASME unassigned materials to solve problems of material during the Repair & Replacement step. KEA is performing development study for Standard Welding Procedure Specification (SWPS) which can be used for production weld without any specific procedure qualification test performed by manufacturers in order to improve reliability and reduce costs. The SWPS will be adopted in KEPIC-MQW Appendix. KEA hopes to collaborate and grow with other Standard Development Organizations (SDOs) through the above efforts.

Abstract:
Within the globally scaled economy and markets, the production process is re-emerging as the value-creator activity and the main source of enterprise revenues. The worldwide growing market contributes to the increase of customers’ exigencies, in terms of both quality and delivery times. Therefore, the product itself is becoming more complex as a combination of physical components and services, and the production process conceptualization is changing, starting from market understanding, through product and process design, to operations and distribution management, often exceeding the boundaries of a single organization. According to this scenario, the activities performed along the production process should be effectively coordinated and managed within the organization and with the external partners. To accomplish it, production must converge to a single global integrated process, enabled by seamless interoperability between the already operating tools, methods and computational environments. A challenge now is how to make the most of information and knowledge interoperability along the Product Life Cycle stages. The paper contributes to this aim, proposing a standard-based methodology to re-use data and knowledge incorporated in the product models, to support collaborative engineering through a modular multilevel architecture.

Abstract:
COVID-19 was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization in March 2020. The speed with which the pandemic spread geographically, and the high rate of mortality of its victims prompted many countries around the world to institute ‘lockdowns’ of various sorts to contain it. While the global concern in the early months following the emergence of COVID-19 was with health impacts, the ‘lockdown’ measures put in place by governments triggered global socioeconomic shocks as economies entered recessions due to disruption of economic activity that the ‘lockdown’ measures entailed. Data suggests that the socioeconomic shocks arising from ‘lockdowns’ have been more severe in sub-Saharan Africa countries, generating dire livelihood consequences for most citizens who depend on the informal economy for survival. In Zambia, the effects of COVID-19 combined with a severe drought, and a decline in mining activity to contribute to a downward spiral in Zambia’s economy. This report aims to gain real-time insights into how the COVID-19 crisis was unfolding in Zambia and how rural people and food and livelihood systems were responding. The study focused on documenting and understanding the differential impacts of the pandemic at the household level in terms of changes in participation in farming activities, availability of services for agricultural production, labour and employment, marketing and transport services, food and nutrition security and poverty and wellbeing.
