Abstract:
Groundwater resources are vital for U.S. and global irrigated agricultural production. In the United States, groundwater supplies water to approximately 65 percent of all irrigated acreage. The connectivity among irrigators pumping from the same aquifer—paired with growing concerns about groundwater depletion—led to the creation of many of the groundwater organizations currently active in the United States. Groundwater organizations perform a variety of functions to promote groundwater resource stewardship and address groundwater overdraft and quality concerns that impact groundwater irrigator

Abstract:
This document describes a new source of inputs, based on FAO data, that allows us to estimate agricultural output targets on 133 regions of the GTAP 10A Data Base. This approach allows to overcome several limitations present under the current agricultural production targeting (APT) processing. First, a significant expansion in the regional coverage is achieved, as the number of regions undergoing APT more than doubles. Second, the detailed commodity classification of the FAO dataset allows for a more accurate mapping to the GTAP Data Base sectors. Third, a better commodity coverage in the FAO

Abstract:
The use of the term "Global South" in various disciplines lacks a clear and consistent definition, leading to concerns about its homogenizing and historically colonial connotations. The concept is often associated with socio-economic marginality and multilateral alliances among countries with similar Human Development Index (HDI) rankings. We describe ourselves as a "Global South organization" with a focus on context-based research. However, we grapple with challenges arising from being rooted in societies that are Western, educated, industrialized, rich, and democratic (WEIRD), while striving
