Abstract:
Although identity, image, and reputation are important issues for the sport management field, little research has examined how sport organizations construct and manage such intangible yet critical aspects of their organizations. This article addresses this gap in the literature by exploring the process of identity construction within organizing committees of major sporting events. The insights gained from two case studies indicate that committees draw on three types of identity referents: the nature of the event, context, and key individuals of organizing committees. These referents are projected as images from the organizing committee to various stakeholder groups and then reflected back to the organizing committee. In addition, images are often received by stakeholders through indirect channels of transmission, especially the media, further complicating the process of image and identity management. Finally, organizing committees attempt to manage the process primarily via verbal and symbolic communication strategies.

For the sustainability of the company in Indonesia, triple bottom line concept (people, planet, profit) have to be adding in every company, especially mining company. This concept usually be realized by Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) department, just like in PT Pamapersada Nusantara (PAMA) District KPCS, East Kalimantan. This research type is descriptive qualitative, which give readers explanation of the situation in facing crisis in 2010 by CSR PAMA KPCS. For explain this, writer used Crisis Pre-Emptive: Image Management Model by Augustine Pang, because the CSR concept which explored by writer is based on crisis which happen there, in 2010. In this study, writer divided the phase into 4 phases as the theory by Pang. They are: Before organizational event: proactive phase; Before organizationalevent: strategic phase; During organizational event: reactive phase; and After organizational event: recovery phase. Writer also make a scheme based on 4 phase above.

Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose of this paper was to examine the relationship between image, service satisfaction and public opinion towards reforms in public organizations and postulate a more detailed relationship among them. The concept “New Public Management” (NPM) was initially suggested in the literature sometime around the early 1990s (Aucoin, 1990; Hood, 1991). NPM-style reforms raised the flag of responsiveness to citizens and improved public satisfaction with the assumption that organizational image would also be positively affected by such reforms. Image, satisfaction and support in public sector reforms are, therefore, the major focus of this study. Design/methodology/approach – The focus is on a major reform in the Israel electricity industry and data were collected from 500 respondents by telephone interviews. Findings – The findings support the authors ' hypotheses concerning the major role of image and satisfaction in forming attitudes towards NPM-style reforms. However, beyond conventional direct effects, the authors point to the mediating effect of organizational image on the relationship between satisfaction and support for reforms. Research limitations/implications – First, other factors not included in the model may influence support for NPM-style reforms in public organizations. Second, the study focused on a single organization in one country only and a very specific culture. Finally, the study is cross-sectional and may suffer from common-method and common-source biases and for this reason, should be replicated to allow better generalization and firmer implications. Practical implications – The findings about the preponderance of organizational image over service satisfaction can contribute to policymakers in their efforts to increase support for reforms among the public. The results demonstrate the strong relationship between organizational image and public opinion towards reform and the secondary effect of service satisfaction. Social implications – The centrality of organizational image as a core social focus for citizens as clients and for policymakers is highlighted in the discussion. It is maintained that NPM-style reforms in the social arena, and beyond, are predominantly affected by image. Therefore, there is a need to better understand how image affects social and economic reforms and attitudes towards those reforms and what may be the social consequences of such attitudes by citizens and by policymakers’ decisions. Originality/value – The originality of this study is fourfold: a unique model of image, satisfaction and attitudes towards NPM-style reforms not been studied thus far is in its current form; exploring interrelations of citizens’ satisfaction, image of the public sector and calls for reforms and change in the market-like environment of the public sphere; a telephone survey of opinions towards a specific NPM-style reform; and a focus on a major public sector organization in Israel going through reform.

Abstract:
Detroit, Michigan, is on the brink: Financial mismanagement, population exodus, increasing legacy costs, and out-of-control debt have driven it to bankruptcy. City actors, both administrative and elected, making politically driven decisions invited the disaster. This article uses the concepts of organizational implosion and image management to examine the degree to which the city indeed suffered organization implosion and how the city presented its image, internally and externally. The article synthesizes the administrative and communication literature streams to find that despite an overall rebranding effort, city actors still are falling short when generating positive narratives and trying to change organizational culture.

Abstract:
This study examines how employee sabotage affects organizational output in First Bank Plc, Calabar. The purpose was to identify the causes of employee sabotage, to examine how employee sabotage destroys the image and reputation of the organization, to examine how employee insubordination thwart the achievement of team work accomplishment and organizational effectiveness, to examine how employee refusal to produce product/service affect organizational output and to determine how employee sabotage reduce the security strength of the organization. The study employed survey design and used questionnaire to gather data from sampled respondents. Data was analyzed using simple percentage method. Based on the findings, it was revealed that sabotage at workplace by employee can damage the property, image and reputation of an organization. It was also revealed that employee insubordination thwart the achievement of team work accomplishment and organizational effectiveness. It was equally shown that employee sabotage reduces the security strength of the organization, thus expose the organization to competitive thread and that sabotage by employee leads to waste of resources in the organization, thus low organizational output. It was thus recommended that organizations should do a thorough background checks to know the type of employee that has been hired. Also, organizations should reinforce codes of conduct which will add weight to disciplinary response (court claim) to regulate employees’ behaviours if the employee abuses the rules.

Abstract:
Purpose Total quality management (TQM) has been a universally applienod management strategy to improve organizational performance and thereby to achieve competitiveness. Compared with the scholarly and practical attention paid to identify the consequences of implementing TQM practices, little is known about how those practices enhance organizational image and employee satisfaction. This paper aims to address that research gap and is designed to empirically prove the relationship between TQM practices, organizational image and employee satisfaction. Design/methodology/approach A questionnaire-based survey of 285 employees including administrators, managers and heads of departments of 21 National Accreditation Board for Hospital and Healthcare providers-accredited hospitals in India was conducted. The proposed research model was tested using partial least squares based structural equation modelling. Findings The results revealed that TQM practices have positive direct and indirect effects on employee satisfaction, confirming the partial mediation role played by organizational image in the relationship between TQM practices and employee satisfaction. Research limitations/implications From the findings, leaders can understand that by implementing TQM practices, organizations can enhance image of the organization and bring high level of employee satisfaction. Originality/value The study tries to answer questions largely ignored in the TQM literature: the effect of TQM practices on organizational image and employee satisfaction, and the mediating role of organizational image on TQM practices and employee satisfaction.

Abstract:
With the emergence of New Public Management in the 1980s, Western public sectors saw a gradual shift in logics of work control from professionalism to managerialism. For public sector organizations to attain legitimacy in this new climate, their organizational structures have been aligned according to extant societal expectations of managerialist efficiency. In addition to structure, organizations are also asked to have an organizational image that appeals to the same societal expectations if legitimacy is to be achieved. The pursuit of legitimacy is an aspect that connects image and structure but this has been neglected in previous research. Against this, the purpose of the present thesis is to explore whether and how changes in organizational image covariate positively with shifts in organizational structure. In order to investigate this, an organizational discourse analysis has been conducted on a sample of Swedish hospitals’ webpages in 2005 and 2013 as a way to learn more about the distribution of professionalism and managerialism in these entities’ images. The results indicate that the two logics of work control have increased between the studied years but managerialism displays a slightly bigger growth. Nevertheless, a blend of professionalism and managerialism is what is most apparent in the organizational images of the sampled hospitals in both 2005 and 2013. While previous literature has argued that organizational structures have shifted decisively towards managerialism, this thesis indicates that the change has been more nuanced when it comes to organizational images.

Abstract:
AbstractThe evaluation of scar treatment benefits from exact structural measurements. Accurate assessment of thickness, surface area, and relief is crucial in routine clinical follow-up. From an experimental perspective, precise visualization of the microstructural organization is necessary for a better understanding of the mechanisms underlying pathological scarring. Structural proteins in scars differ from healthy skin in terms of amount, type, and importantly, organization. The precise quantification of this extracellular matrix (ECM) organization was, until recently, limited to two-dimensional images from fixated and stained tissue. Advances in optical techniques now allow high-resolution imaging of these structures, in some cases in vivo. The enormous potential of these techniques as objective assessment tools is illustrated by a substantial increase in available devices. This chapter describes currently used devices and techniques used in the clinical follow-up of scar progression from a volumetric standpoint. Furthermore, some of the most powerful techniques for microstructural research are described including optical coherence tomography, nonlinear optical techniques such as second harmonic generation microscopy, and confocal microscopy.

Abstract:
Firms have an unfavourable effect on environmental problems that severely threatens the ecological balance. In this context, firms' responsibility must be heavy on environmental problems. In the last two decades an approach guiding firms' socially beneficial activity as well as profitably activity has emerged. Accordingly, many firms launched marketing campaigns in order to claim themselves environment friendly. But it is not possible to say all of these campaigns reflect the facts. Some firms conduct greenwashing campaigns, which means misleading activity in order to persuade external stakeholders and consumers to appear more environmentally friendly than they actually are. In this chapter, the authors explain the effect of greenwashing advertisements on organizational culture using findings of previous studies as evidence. Organizational image, greenwashing concepts, and factors that drive firms' greenwashing activities are explained and then the effect of green advertisements on organizational image is revealed through previous studies' findings.

Abstract:
When faced with crises, organizational leaders must identify, prioritize, and communicate with organizational stakeholders. Increasingly, organizational leaders find themselves responding to crises made by persons that represent or are associated with the organization in some way. However, most case studies of image repair campaigns focus on the individual that has transgressed rather than on the often-simultaneous campaigns undertaken by the organizations with which they are associated. To study these issues more closely, this chapter uses The Ohio State University's (OSU's) tattoos for memorabilia scandal as exemplar and offers meaningful insight and pragmatic considerations for practitioners dealing with similar situational constraints.

Abstract:
Supply chain management has been used by businesses and the companies have attributed their success to effective supply chain management. But in case of healthcare sector, supply chain management is not that prominent since it deals with finished products. Supply Chain Management is a concept, strategy and approach that is proving its worth in hospital management all over the world. The pressures on hospital supply chains are changing. In response to these pressures some hospitals have initiated green supply chain management (GSCM) practices that provide tremendous opportunities to improve supply chain performance. This paper tries to provide empirical results in order to examine the impact of GSCM practices in building the positive image of the Indian hospitals incorporating two moderating variables namely regulatory and competition. In order to gain unique insights of current levels of awareness/adoption of GSCM and the potential impact GSCM could have in building organizational image, a survey was conducted among 53 hospitals from NCR (National Capital Region) India. Moderated hierarchical regression analysis has been used to arrive at the following results: (1) Indian hospitals have experienced increasing environmental pressure to implement GSCM practices; (2) The implementation of GSCM practices have helped in building positive organizational image (3) The existence of competitive and regulatory pressures influence hospitals to implement green supply chain practices that eventually help in building positive organizational image especially when these pressures cause adoption of green purchasing and green hospital services even though organizational image is most influenced by Internal environment management; (4) Hospitals implement green transportation policies under regulatory and competitive pressures. Implications for operations strategists from these relationships are also discussed.

Abstract:
Image-based sexual abuse (IBSA), commonly known as revenge pornography, is a type of cyberharassment that often results in detrimental effects to an individual's career and livelihood. Although there exists valuable research concerning cyberharassment in the workplace generally, there is little written about specifically IBSA and the workplace. This chapter examines current academic research on IBSA, the issues with defining this type of abuse, victim blaming, workplace policy, and challenges to victim-survivors' redress. The authors explore monetary motivation for websites that host revenge pornography and unpack how the dark web presents new challenges to seeking justice. Additionally, this chapter presents recommendations from the literature focusing on shifting cultural attitudes, effective legislation, and increased education and training.

Abstract:
A significant problem facing modern society, which directly and immediately affects, but also indirectly, the lives of individuals, groups, and community, in general, is the problem of communication. Today, communication is the primary dimension and value of our existence, becoming omnipresent, so that it is not even perceived as a distinct activity. Its role is to facilitate interaction between people, in the environment in which they evolve, through the content of issued and received messages to achieve certain goals and transmit particular meanings. Performance and satisfaction are interdependent and separate. Performance remains influenced by individual characteristics such as competence and overall perspicacity, organizational support related to technology and resources, and work effort. Good management of internal communication leads to eliminating differences in receiving any change, with positive effects on the efficiency, credibility, and public image of the institution. The degree of vulnerability of the organization is reflected both in the discursive manifestation at the individual level and especially on organizational performance. There is a need for constant review and continuous improvement of the way an organization measures its performance.

Clients of logistics organizations often demand not only one service, but a total logistics package. Therefore, globalization of economic, social and cultural processes pose new challenges for human resource management. The paper analyzes the impact of human resource competence features and its use as a tool for development of logistics organization and logistics service quality assurance. Competence measurement is complicated, it requires sophisticated studies, thus competence is often assessed on the grounds of simple, easily expressed, but often frustrated total image indicators, such as education and training. The conducted qualitative research enabled the identification of human resource social competence problematics in logistics organizations.

Abstract:
Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is not a refreshing concept for the management of an organization in recent years. This concept refers to a firm, which has more responsibilities to adapt the needs of objectives apart from its stakeholders and owners in commercial, legal, ethical, and environmental ways (Beal and Goyen, 2005), and the responsibilities are achieved by meeting or exceeding the commercial, ethical, legal and philanthropic expectation from these objectives. The concept of corporate social responsibility was firstly introduced by the publication of Bowen's Social Responsibility of Businessmen in 1953, while almost all known companies have integrated this spirit into their business model. Nowadays, the promotion of corporate social responsibility has even become not only the wider responsibilities in which an organization contributes to society but also an approach to promote an organization's corporate image (Chang, 2009). The purpose of this paper is to briefly discuss the concept of corporate social responsibility regarding economic, ethical, legal, and philanthropic aspects, and the objectives served by corporate social responsibility such as environments, the society, and the public. This paper then explains how the realization of CSR from one organization can bring effects to its stakeholders and how the organization can obtain benefits from the implementation. Finally, this paper includes two cases from well-known companies in Taiwan, namely TSMC (Taiwan semiconductor manufacturing company) and FPG (Formosa Plastics Group) about how these companies successfully realize corporate social responsibility, and the impacts that influence the stakeholders, and the benefits they obtain for their corporate images.

Abstract:
Communication has always been one of the most important tools through which people can interact with each other. Given that the way we interact with people has never been easy, it has evolved today with more languages, channels and different ways of communicating than before. Communication has a unique role, allowing the solution of certain operational, functional and relational problems, but also employee satisfaction. Recent changes have had an impact on organizations and have increased the importance of managing both internal and external communication. Thus, the communication system is also a system of actions, because the activity and the word are intertwined in negotiations, arguments, counseling, explanation of tasks, conflict resolution. Communication in the educational institution is a premise of the performance of instructive-educational processes, a factor that creates an optimal educational climate, a vector for building the reputation and image of the educational organization and a source of motivation for teachers.
