Full textThe Eastern churches represent the cradle of Christianity. They were a fortunate witness to the original and integral process of inculturation. Within the Eastern context in its cultural diversity, this process became a matrix of autonomous churches, each one with its expressions and traditions. However the cultural context of the Eastern churches has completely changed. At present, it is the Arabic culture, in tension with modernity and globalization, which compose the sitz im leben of the inculturation process in the Arab Crescent. Therefore, a new inculturation should animate the life of these churches. In a catholic view, this dynamic might face three challenges : mission, communion and catholicity. In favor of their past experience and their specific ecclesial system, the Eastern Catholic churches of the Arab Crescent already demonstrate signs of this renewal movement. This is happening through a new ecclesial perspective, a Church of churches, the Arab Church

Full textThe oriental Christian communities which have sprung from the fifth century schisms have developed their own body of laws, including a body of secular laws. Two major sources going back to the late Antiquity have been preserved, the so-called Syro-roman Law Book and Sententiae Syriacae. The originality of both lies in the way in which laws are formulated as well as in the norms which they convey. These sources were eventually integrated to the canonical collections and nomocanons, developed by the various oriental Christian communities and some of their provisions are still authoritative today in some of these communities (notably the orthodox Copt, Nestorian or Jacobite communities)

Full textthus investigates different aspects of the interaction between the Ottoman Orient and 18th century Europe. Said'
s Orientalism discusses how European writers created a separate discourse to represent the Orient. The present thesis does not completely reject Said'
s arguement
rather it argues that there was also a negotiating tendency which did not make radical distinction between the East and the West. Relying on 18th century pseudo-oriental letters, oriental tales and oriental travelogues the study tries to indicate that representation of the Ottoman Orient in 18th century English literature was different from the earlier centuries because developig critical and liberal spirit established a negotiation between the two worlds. The negotiation of the two worlds has been studied as a significant theme of the pseudo-oriental letters, oriental tales and oriental travelogues. The present study tried to indicate how the critical and inquisitive spirit of the age of Enlightenment interanimated Oreiental and European cultures.

Full textThis research is a cross history of the arabic orientalism in catholic Europe and the crystallization of christian religious identities in the Middle East, developed in three points. The first part shows why Europe has focused on the Christians of the Middle East. The catholic scholars elaborated a knowledge about the Christian in a double context of religious controversies and development of the missions to bring the Orientals in the bosom of the Roman Church. The description of the Arabic language was marked by interest in the Scriptures in oriental languages and the need to teach the language to missionaries. The second part focuses on Rome as a meeting point between orientalist science on one hand, and government of the missions and of the Eastern Churches on the other hand. The third party studies arabic clerical culture to highlight the transition from a religious indeterminacy to the definition, especially by history, of the maronite identity and, after the schism of 1724, the greek catholic identity. In this review of scholarly goings between West and East, special attention is paid to mediators, missionaries and Eastern Christians, especially maronites
Le, Pape Yannick. "Stratégies visuelles de l'art antique proche-oriental." Paris, EHESS, 2006. http://www.theses.fr/2006EHES0085.
Full textNear-eastern art of Antiquity (especially bronze age art) is often considered as a pure historical and iconographical document. Although it can represent something (and it often doesn't), a work of art is above all constituted through many choices (these strategies) reveal questions, fears, hopes or claims - in a word how they can express the main thoughts of the society in wich the artist lives and creates. Three points are tackled. First of all, we study the geometrical abstract decors (paintings on pottery, bas-reliefs), wich for us possess many meanings, although there are often judged hermetically sealed (and this hermetism is itself significant). Afterwards, we examine the manipulations endured by images (images can be erased, repeated. . . . ), wich can be very significant whatever is represented. At last, we study the different manners of managing the field of the work of art (the artist can choose to clear out this field, or to fill it with images or decors, he can also parcel it out. . . )

Full textChinese ceramics found on Islamic sites are the only material traces preserved to-day of the well-known trade between china and Islam in the middle age (650-1350). A typological study of these ceramics, paralleled by a critical research on the archaeological data, brings to light the main characteristics of this trade, its historical evolution and its main networks. These networks were exclusively maritime ones, handled until the 11th century by merchants from the Persian Gulf who also controlled the trade in the red sea and east Africa. Later on, the Indian Ocean trade is shared by people from Egypt and Yemen in the red sea, and the Hormuz area in the Gulf

Full textThis reflective exercise aims to analyze the political role performed by Caesar Augustus during the construction, consolidation and the legitimacy of the political system of the Roman Principality. We will take as analytical basis the discourses and actions of Augustus in the Roman political scene on behalf of restoration of the Republic. Therefore, we propose to board the way how the Prince appropriated the trick of construction of stereotypes of his rivals, Marc Antony and Cleopatra, in order to raise his own position in the Roman political scene. The way he used speeches of me and other permeates our gaze, especially concerning the Eastern world that served as an element in a discursive and practical plan to defamation his rivals and their presentation as a threat to the Roman Republic, which he intended to safeguard and raise the best times.
Thiebaut, Jocelyn. "Algorithmic and structural results on directed cycles in dense digraphs." Thesis, Montpellier, 2019. http://www.theses.fr/2019MONTS059.
Full textIn this thesis, we are interested in some algorithmic and structural problems of (oriented) cycle packing in dense digraphs. These problems are mainly motivated by understanding the structure of such graphs, but also because many algorithmic problems are easy (i.e. resolvable in polynomial time) on acyclic digraphs while they are NP-difficult in the general case.More specifically, we first study the packing of cycles and the packing of triangles in tournaments. These problems are the two dual problems (from a linear programming point of view) of feedback arc/vertex set that have received a lot of attention in literature. Among other things, we show that there is no polynomial algorithm to find a maximum collection of cycles (respectively triangles) vertex or arc-disjoint in tournaments, unless P = NP. We are also interested in algorithms of approximations and parameterized complexity of these different problems. Then, we study these problems in the specific case where the tournament admits a feedback arc set which is a matching. Such tournaments are said to be sparse. Surprisingly, the problem remains difficult in the case of vertex-disjoint triangles, but the packing of triangles and the packing of arc-disjoint cycles become polynomial. Thus, we explore the approximation and parameterized complexity of the vertex-disjoint case in sparse tournaments. Finally, we answer positively to a structural conjecture on k-regular bipartite tournaments by Manoussakis, Song and Zhang from 1994. Indeed, we show that all digraphs of this non-isomorphic class to a particular digraph have for every p even with 4 leq p leq |V(D)| - 4 a C cycle of size p such that D V(C) is Hamiltonian
Paris 8, 2003. http://www.theses.fr/2003PA082206.
Full textBetween 1925 and 1953, Josef von Sternberg shot around 27 full-length films. On the whole of his production,if we consider the notion of cinematographic style, we can segment and categorize his work. Therefore, we notice that there are gangster movies, spy movies, historical movies, black movies, movies on sailors, melodramas and exotic adventure movies. This last category is specially supplied with, and includes five main movies : Morocco in 1930, Shanghai Express in 1932, The Shanghai gesture in 1941 Macao in 1952 and The Saga of Anatahan in 1953. We do notice the leading part of oriental adventures and the attraction of Sternberg for the East if we make cross-checkings between the different categories mentionned here above. Indeed, between 1930 and 1953, his exotic-oriental works stand out in his career in a very recurrent way. This cinematographic style, in the same way as any other, possesses its own rules, conventions and originalities but it also permits to have access to the whole of the producer's work. We find these films spread through the production of the producer and The Saga of Anatahan is at the same time the fermata of the oriental adventures and Sternberg's last creation. The geographical situation of the places and the actions constitute the first interest of Hollywood looking towards North Africa and the Orient. The entire work and the unique vision on this "World" of the film-maker, mainly recreated in a studio, will constitute one of the major axis of reflexion of this research. On top of its specifities and richness, the exotic-oriental style of its movies will allow us to reveal on the whole the work of the director
Bensalah, Souad. "Le lyrisme oriental de Goethe, Rückert et Platen." Paris 3, 1991. http://www.theses.fr/1991PA030064.
Full textGoethe's publication of the divan in 1819 marked the beginning of german poetry of oriental form and inspiration. This poetry, practiced by many poets, is characterized by themes and motives of oriental writers, of their allegorical language, their metaphors, as well as their technique of versification, especially in the ghazel form. Although goethe uses the content and the symbolism of hafiz es poetry for his divan, he does not stick to the formal laws of the ghazel. His successors ruckert, inspired by rumi, and platen, inspired by hafiz, strictly obey the laws of the genre. Their ambition is to enrich the german poetry by recurring to the abundant expressivity of the oriental writers as well as to achieve a perfect form of the poem by using the ghazel. In this way they oppose the exclusive dominance of the antique metre. By imitating the versification and the highly condensed structure of thought of their models, they face fierce criticism. Their oriental poetry is considered as formal work of inconsistant quality. This explains why their ghazels are not correctly assessed. Consequently this prejudice is extended to their entire literary production. The supposed analogies with their disciples wrongly made them the precursors of formal art

Full textJean-Michel Venture de Paradis was born in Marseille in 1739. In 1752 he boarded the Ecole des Enfants de Langue, founded by Colbert, where he is trained as a drogman. Aside from the classical disciplines teached there by the Jesuits, he studies oriental languages and receives a solid training in erudition. Once a drogman, Jean-Michel Venture de Paradis will spend more than 30 years in the Levant and Barbary. His successful career leads him to the Bibliothèque du Roy where he is named Secrétaire Interprète pour les Langues Orientales, the most important post in the profession of drogman. He then studies philology, translates oriental texts and shares his knowledge with many authors, becoming a key personality in the academic circle of Oriental studies. The Expédition d’Egypte will be his last assignment. He accompanies General Bonaparte and dies during the retreat of the French army from Syria. The use of biographical material taken from the life of Jean-Michel Venture de Paradis opens to a broader vision of the creation, and professionnalization, during all of the 18th century, of the position of drogman. It also permits to focus on the evolution of a profession which relies on a variety of competencies : linguistic, diplomatic, and commercial mediation, which transforms itself, splits up, and gives birth, at the end of the century, to professional diplomacy on the one hand, and academic orientalism on the other

First, we explore and present current psychoanalytic concepts and theories on the sexual life of women, either in the East or in the West. Second, we study these clinical reports in light of what we have found in literary tales, in sociological research, and in the literature on psychoanalysis, and we try to answer the following question: Why do women, who have the same family, socio-cultural and economic profiles, and who we can can call (apparently) modern, show similar failures in what regards their simple sexual lives? Hence the title of our research is: The categories of denial of sexuality for women in the Middle East

Full textThe aim of this research is a reconstruction and study of the genesis of the complex creative process of G.E. Gerini’s literary and academic multilingual writings about Siām and the Orient (1881-1913). The writing process of his multilingual prose and poetry in English, Italian, French, Siāmese and other Oriental languages is preserved in various kinds of archives which include his personal multilingual glossary for specific purposes and multilingual dictionary of dialects, multilingual notebooks that contain material he incorporated into the texts of his writings as well as his original handwritten draft, preliminary studies and revised manuscripts. This genetic evidence is an active agent of the formation of multilingual works and thus the genesis of the literary multilingualism. To trace all the used items in the final text and in the relevant draft and locate the sources the author was obtaining information from, the research aims also to show how genetic approach can contribute to the interpretation of his multilingual prose and poetic works and explain the genesis as well as the development of the literary multilingualism in his works. The genetic study of Gerini’s works also includes the critical study of the influence and relevance of religious, social and political memory in Siām and the Orient in his works

Abstract: The presence of India in Cecília Meireles's biography is considerable. The relationship between the poetess and India presents itself both explicitly and implicitly in her writings: on one hand, there is the title Poems written in India, parallel to it there are a lot of chronicles and lectures about this country; on the other hand, dozens of poems allow the inference of premises, nuances, and themes related to Indian philosophical and religious thought, related to Hinduism and/or Buddhism. In this present analysis, we started up based on the premise that it is unavoidable both considering the poems on India (Indian sceneries, daily life and individuals), and the inventory of philosophical/religious aspects in the poems, by means of interpretative analysis, showing that India and Indian thought appear in Cecília's poetry vertically and horizontally. In this light, we dedicate the first analytical sections to the country as a place at which Cecília devotes her attention, employ as background for several poems, and from where she elects some individuals about whom she writes. We approach, firstly, the relationship between Cecília and India, by looking at biographical data, travel chronicles and the analysis of the poem "Hymn for peaceful India". Then, we discuss the relationship between Cecília and two renowned Indian personalities, in whose honor she dedicated poems, lectures, etc., i.e., the Indian poet, thinker and educator Rabindranath Tagore, and the poem "The most divine poet", and the pacifist Mohandas K. Gandhi, and the poem "Mahatma Gandhi". After that, we focus on the book Poems written in India, result of her trip there in 1953, and we consider, on one hand, Cecília as a traveler, and, on the other, her view on Indian women and their work as we analyze two poems, "Humility" and "Puri Women". The latter in comparison to another poem, "Ballad for the ten...

Full textIn the last decade of the 19th century, works of Lugné-Poe and Antoine experiment a new aesthetic representation and search the essence of the theatrical invention in the mise en scène. The director (metteur en scène) becomes the author; toa certain extent, sometimes, s/he takes the predominant role. Throughout the 20th century, the evolution of the directing (mise en scène) accelerates abruptly and it is so violent and sometimes it reaches to a state of anarchy. This is why the aesthetics of oriental scenic tradition, which goes through reproducible art forms, even stereotypical, could provide beacon and safeguards.Paul Claudel is the first person who acquires knowledge about the Orient due to his long stays in Asia. He incorporates the oriental traditions, cultures and philosophies in his playwriting, and proposes new epic and lyric forms in theater, likeone sees in The shoe of satin and Christophe Columbus. Proposing a symbolist theater, he had staged real poems which reflect his cosmology and his poetic vision. Claudel had achieved what Jean-Louis Barrault dreamed of -the "total theater."In the early 20th century, several colonial exhibitions introduced the East to the West. They gave Westerners an opportunity of directly absorbing the oriental scenic tradition. The formalists acting— sacred and aesthetics— in symbolic poetry attractsintellectuals and artists. Particularily, the representations of Sada Yacco and Mei Lan-fang were most enthusiastically received. The theoretical directors were passionate about the expressive and metaphorical acting of their robust,well-proportioned yet flexible bodies, about their moderate and discreet attitude, which were shaped by the ancient Eastern traditions. Although there were slight differences among various Asian theaters, they were grouped under the common name of "Oriental Theatre". In this sense, I would like to analyze the impacts caused by three major events of the western theater history in Europe: the successive visitings of troupe Sada Yacco in 1901, the Colonial Exhibition in 1931, and the arrival of Mei Lan-Fang in 1935. At the same time, we should trace the origins and common characteristics of Asian theaters. When the innovative artists discovered the eastern theater, they were overcame by the authenticity of its theatricality and they mirror the Western theater in opposition to the Eastern theater, in which they denounce the shortcomings of Westerntheatrical convention. The oriental scenic tradition shows them the paradoxical aesthetic: (1) unornamented decoration yet enriching in the metaphorical layout; (2) stylized artificial acting but realistic-details revealing; (3) short performance butrequiring long-term training; (4) creations constrained by tradition but set free by the talent of artist; (5) one theatrical art integrating various arts.Referring to these oriental characteristic forms, Craig seeks to find a "definite form", Meyerhold tends to establish a new convention of theatricality. As for Brecht, he goes further into developing theory, and his writing aims to produce the effect of"alienation." Artaud, on the other hand, wants to "terminate the masterpieces" and allow real stage language to speak for itself. After these pioneers who discovered sources from the Orient, directors who follow these doctrines such as Grotowski, Barba, Brook, and Ariane Mnouchkine turn their spiritual search and introspective towards the Orient, in hopes of generating their own aesthetics which could be realized in practice. Therefore, their creations reflect not merely Eastern traditions nor do they apply only Western conventions, but they are fertilized and born out of their appropriation to the Orient, mingled with these directors’ own personality, their "tribe" and their cultural preferences

Pasaulis suskirstytas i dvi kategorijas: Vakarai ir Rytai. Orient and okcidentas - the two man-made space concept, which describes not only the geographical area, but also a certain cultural values. The world is divided into two categories: the West and East. The Western world include the values of modernity, democracy and education, while the eastern countries are backward in respect of culture and education, and lack of democracy. Edward Said has found that a breakdown of our world in the Orient and Occidental, has its own culture and other people's confrontation was necessary in order to realize their own identity. For each literary work takes place in a given area. This area is twofold task: On one hand the author of the work takes place in an imaginary place, but the place is mostly a fictional counterpart of real everyday reality. Full textThis study aimed to analyze the Japanese experience and the concept of \"fascism\" due the period between the Great Crisis of the late 1920s and the total closure of parties and unions. The Japanese case is often treated as negligible, because it refers to an out of the western perimeter, and also brings with it a way to dodge every particular within a universality. Japan, after the capitalism introduction in the late nineteenth century, goes through several transformations driven by the same logic of reproduction. From the Japanese case distinctions and generalizations of the concept of \"fascism\", it was possible to make out the unity of political and social processes. The result of an architecture of domination was exposed in this work, from the social sphere to the political movements of the economy.

Full textThe present work aims to investigate how the Orient is represented in the poetic works of Alberto Osório de Castro (1868 1946). Its main axis is the dialog established between his poems and the topics and poetic forms found in the eastern tradition, especially in the Indian. This is intended in order to outline the Orientalist that can be found in the works of the Portuguese poet, assuming that Osório de Castro creates his own Orient. We seek to ascertain the specificity of this creation, identifying his strategies and possible intentions.

The presence of India in Cecília Meireles’s biography is considerable. In this present analysis, we started up based on the premise that it is unavoidable both considering the poems on India (Indian sceneries, daily life and individuals), and the inventory of philosophical/religious aspects in the poems, by means of interpretative analysis, showing that India and Indian thought appear in Cecília’s poetry vertically and horizontally. In this light, we dedicate the first analytical sections to the country as a place at which Cecília devotes her attention, employ as background for several poems, and from where she elects some individuals about whom she writes. We approach, firstly, the relationship between Cecília and India, by looking at biographical data, travel chronicles and the analysis of the poem Hymn for peaceful India. Then, we discuss the relationship between Cecília and two renowned Indian personalities, in whose honor she dedicated poems, lectures, etc., i.e., the Indian poet, thinker and educator Rabindranath Tagore, and the poem The most divine poet, and the pacifist Mohandas K. Gandhi, and the poem Mahatma Gandhi. After that, we focus on the book Poems written in India, result of her trip there in 1953, and we consider, on one hand, Cecília as a traveler, and, on the other, her view on Indian women and their work as we analyze two poems, Humility and Puri Women. The latter in comparison to another poem, Ballad for the ten...

Full textThis thesis is a canonical study which treats the question of the canonical obligation of the celibacy of priests in 380 in West and at East. It is a comparison between the eastern and western Tradition. The Research is using as important basis the extract of 1 Cor. 7, 1-9 from Apostle Paul’s Letter. This extract was misunderstood by the popes and influenced a lot their Decrees. It has been done an analysis of all the oriental canons of 4th century of the First Ecumenical Council, of the local Councils and also of the canonical Letters of the Holy Fathers. This material is a part of the eastern canon law. The Councils are devised in two parts, before and after 380.In accordance to this there is a canonical approach to the decisions of the western councils, through the local Councils of the 4th century. Those canons present the first imposition of the canonical obligation of celibacy in a local level. The study continues by analysing the contest of the Decrees of three popes: Damasus, Siricius and Innocent I, who imposed the celibacy after 380 in an official way and in a universal level by using the authority (auctoritas) and the power (potestas) of the See of Rome

Full textUnder the rule of Cosimo the Elder then Piero the Gouty and Lorenzo the Magnificent, the Florence of the Medici throughout the fifteenth century maintained increasingly tighter and more ambiguous relationships with the Eastern Ottoman empire which appeared both an attractive enemy and a formidable model with its fascinating exoticism and power. The Turkish civilisation attracted the Florentines dazzled by the different culture and the huge commercial possibilities it offered. What was then the real position of Florence caught between its wish to stand as the bulwark of Christendom (and therefore staunchly opposed to the Eastern invasion) and its natural inclination for a rich, refined country? What was the impact of the links between Florence and the Oriental Empire on fifteenth century Europe? This study aims at explaining the relationships between Florence and the Oriental world from the coming into power of Cosimo in 1434 until the death of his grandson Lorenzo in 1492: according to the ups and downs of cultural and diplomatic relashionships, Florence appeared one moment as the protection of the Oriental Christians threatened by the expansion of Mehmet II’s empire and the next as an alternative to their mother country by integrating Greek elements and compromising with the Sultan’s power, to eventually become the unofficial ally of the powerful emperor feared by all European states

Full textAlthought many formalisms have been developed to study, on one hand discrete event systems and in the other hand, continuous systems, there is no formulation that meets them all. Indeed, each of these various formalisms can de viewed as offering a potential application’s benefit based on particular form of abstraction implicit in it’s “world of view”. However, since reality does not usually constrain itself to one such “world of view”, the need to formulate representation schemes that allows to bridge the gap between the two description form, become essential. In our contribution first, we provide a uniform scheme to formulate model description of discrete event continuous state systems. Afterwards, we develop a mapping of the resulting description scheme onto a generic description using the object oriented concept and the simulation strategy using the abstract simulators principles is described. At last, we present an approach using Time Warp mechanism based on the Virtual time paradigm and time-vector model to coordinate the concurrent object execution run of the abstract simulators

Full textIn this work, we consider the following problem: Given a directed graph D, does it contain a subdivision of a prescribed digraph F? We believe that there is a dichotomy between NP-complete and polynomial-time solvable instances of this problem. We present many examples of both cases. In particular, except for five instances, we are able to classify all the digraphs F of order 4.While all NP-hardness proofs are made by reduction from some version of the 2-linkage problem in digraphs, we use different algorithmic tools for proving polynomial-time solvability of certain instances, some of them involving relatively complicated algorithms. The techniques vary from easy brute force algorithms, algorithms based on maximum-flow calculations, handle decompositions of strongly connected digraphs, among others. Finally, we treat the very special case of F being the disjoint union of directed cycles. In particular, we show that the directed cycles of length at least 3 have the Erdos-Pósa Property: for every n, there exists an integer tn such that for every digraph D, either D contains n disjoint directed cycles of length at least 3, or there is a set T of tn vertices that meets every directed cycle of length at least 3. From this result, we deduce that if F is the disjoint union of directed cycles of length at most 3, then one can decide in polynomial time if a digraph contains a subdivision of F

The tale is still at the origin of linguistic exchange between the generations both dead and alive; it denunciates social situations and regulates tensions. The tale also acts on reality always translating it according to the satisfaction of a need. The revolution is the best example of this process

Full textAddressing security in the software development lifecycle still is an open issue today, especially in distributed software. Addressing security concerns requires a specific know-how, which means that security experts must collaborate with application programmers to develop secure software. Object-oriented and component-based development is commonly used to support collaborative development and to improve scalability and maintenance in software engineering. Unfortunately, those programming styles do not lend well to support collaborative development activities in this context, as security is a cross-cutting problem that breaks object or component modules. We investigated in this thesis several modularization techniques that address these issues. We first introduce the use of aspect-oriented programming in order to support secure programming in a more automated fashion and to minimize the number of vulnerabilities in applications introduced at the development phase. Our approach especially focuses on the injection of security checks to protect from vulnerabilities like input manipulation. We then discuss how to automate the enforcement of security policies programmatically and modularly. We first focus on access control policies in web services, whose enforcement is achieved through the instrumentation of the orchestration mechanism. We then address the enforcement of privacy protection policies through the expert-assisted weaving of privacy filters into software. We finally propose a new type of aspect-oriented pointcut capturing the information flow in distributed software to unify the implementation of our different security modularization techniques

Full textSoftware technologies are constantly evolving to facilitate the development, deployment, and maintenance of applications in different areas. In parallel, these applications evolve continuously to guarantee an adequate quality of service, and they become more and more complex. Such evolution often involves increased development and maintenance costs, that can become even higher when these applications are deployed in recent execution infrastructures such as the cloud. Nowadays, reducing these costs and improving the quality of applications are main objectives of software engineering. Recently, microservices have emerged as an example of a technology or architectural style that helps to achieve these objectives. While microservices can be used to develop new applications, there are monolithic ones (i.e., monoliths) built as a single unit and their owners (e.g., companies, etc.) want to maintain and deploy them in the cloud. In this case, it is common to consider rewriting these applications from scratch or migrating them towards recent architectural styles. Rewriting an application or migrating it manually can quickly become a long, error-prone, and expensive task. An automatic migration appears as an evident solution. The ultimate aim of our dissertation is contributing to automate the migration of monolithic Object-Oriented (OO) applications to microservices. This migration consists of two steps: microservice identification and microservice packaging. We focus on microservice identification based on source code analysis. Specifically, we propose two approaches. The first one identifies microservices from the source code of a monolithic OO application relying on code structure, data accesses, and software architect recommendations. The originality of our approach can be viewed from three aspects. Firstly, microservices are identified based on the evaluation of a well-defined function measuring their quality. This function relies on metrics reflecting the "semantics" of the concept "microservice". Secondly, software architect recommendations are exploited only when they are available. Finally, two algorithmic models have been used to partition the classes of an OO application into microservices: clustering and genetic algorithms. The second approach extracts from an OO source code a workflow that can be used as an input of some existing microservice identification approaches. A workflow describes the sequencing of tasks constituting an application according to two formalisms: control flow and /or data flow. Extracting a workflow from source code requires the ability to map OO conceptsinto workflow ones.To validate both approaches, we implemented two prototypes and conducted experiments on several case studies. The identified microservices have been evaluated qualitatively and quantitatively. The extracted workflows have been manually evaluated relying on test suites. The obtained results show respectively the relevance of the identified microservices and the correctness of the extracted workflows

Full textDecision support systems occupy a large space in companies and large organizations in order to enable analyzes dedicated to decision making. With the advent of big data, the volume of analyzed data reaches critical sizes, challenging conventional approaches to data warehousing, for which current solutions are mainly based on R-OLAP databases. With the emergence of major Web platforms such as Google, Facebook, Twitter, Amazon...etc, many solutions to process big data are developed and called "Not Only SQL". These new approaches are an interesting attempt to build multidimensional data warehouse capable of handling large volumes of data. The questioning of the R-OLAP approach requires revisiting the principles of modeling multidimensional data warehouses. In this manuscript, we proposed implementation processes of multidimensional data warehouses with NoSQL models. We defined four processes for each model; an oriented NoSQL column model and an oriented documents model. Each of these processes fosters a specific treatment. Moreover, the NoSQL context adds complexity to the computation of effective pre-aggregates that are typically set up within the ROLAP context (lattice). We have enlarged our implementations processes to take into account the construction of the lattice in both detained models. As it is difficult to choose a single NoSQL implementation that supports effectively all the applicable treatments, we proposed two translation processes. While the first one concerns intra-models processes, i.e., pass rules from an implementation to another of the same NoSQL logic model, the second process defines the transformation rules of a logic model implementation to another implementation on another logic model

Full textThe code of canons of the oriental churches (promulgated on 1990), stipulates (canon 57, 1st paragraph) that the patriarcal churches may be suppressed by the supreme authority of the church ; then it considers them, along with all the sui iuris oriental catholic churches subdued, to the ecclesiastical law. We underline this ideological issue along with the wishes of the 2nd vatican counciliar decree "orientalium ecclesiarum". So we try to study the historical context of the patriarcal institution during the 1st millenium. Then we consider the prescrip- tions of the paragraphs 7-11 of the counciliar decree in comparison with the legis lation given on 1990, doing so in the light of a bimillenary past and in view of the xxist century. We conclude that it is not accurate to designate the whole right of the patriarcal institution as an ecclesiastical one. We recall the fundamental dialectical relationship between history and tradition in every comprehensive study of canon law. And we propose a few ecumenical conditions to reach an universal petrinian ministery in the church thanks to an ecclesiology of communion which retains the metaphorical connotation of religious statements

The analysis of this policy within the framework of the relations between Ukraine and the EU and in the context of the evolution of the intraregional dynamics of the Eastern Partnership and of the external policy of the Union did however reveal a number of inherent flaws. In addition to the policy's deficiencies relating to both institutional failings and to the uncertainty regarding the final perspective of this process for Ukraine, the ENP also turned out to be insufficient when faced with the security challenges of the Crimean Crisis. It has demonstrated its limitations concerning the EU's geopolitical strategy within the framework of the relations between Russia, Ukraine and the EU and was shown to be unable to prevent potential risks arising from the European Union's Association Agreement with Ukraine
