Abstract:
The diverse population of Ambon City has led to a diversity of spiritual beliefs that can be found in this city, this also has an impact on the orphanages built in Ambon City. Based on the source www.malukuprov.go.id, which is the official address of the Ambon City Government website, there is no information relating to the orphanage. As a result, donors in Ambon City experienced difficulties in getting accurate information about orphanages, because limited information from prospective donors took the initiative by asking the public to obtain information about the local orphanage. The location search application for this orphanage was built using the Location Based Service (LBS) system that can provide information on routes to orphanages to donors through mobile android users equipped with navigation features and display information about the related orphanage to facilitate donors in concluding the orphanage which ones need more donations.

Abstract:
Orphanages are a common child protection response to humanitarian crises spurred on by media and NGO depictions of the disaster orphan. Yet, decades of research attests to the harm that orphanage care can cause. Driven by aid funding, orphanages are often sustained long after the recovery phase. In recent years, research has highlighted the links between orphanages, exploitation and modern slavery, particularly orphanage trafficking. This paper examines how the perpetuation of the disaster narrative sustains orphanage care post-disaster which heightens the risk, and exposure, of children to modern slavery, and makes suggestions for strengthening humanitarian crises responses to protect children.

Abstract:
Orphanages harness the goodwill of volunteers, visitors and donors to generate funding. However, in recent years, evidence has emerged that in some cases children are being recruited or trafficked into orphanages in order to generate profit from this goodwill. This is known as the ‘orphanage industry’, and the recruitment of children into orphanages for the purpose of profit and exploitation is ‘orphanage trafficking’. Australia is reported to be the largest funder of residential care for children in South East Asia. In 2017, Australia became the first government in the world to consider orphanage trafficking as a form of modern slavery. This article traces the evolution of the recognition of orphanage trafficking broadly, and then focusses on recommendations made by the Australian government following the release of its 2017 Hidden in Plain Sight Report. This article analyses the emerging policy and legislative reforms that are being undertaken by the Australian government and recommends further development to ensure that funding and finances are appropriately directed to divest from orphanages and instead support burgeoning care reform in the South Asian region. Finally, the article responds to critiques of the Australian government’s standpoint on orphanage trafficking as it relates to the over-reliance on institutional care and provides clarification on why a criminal justice response to orphanage trafficking is appropriate.

Abstract:
Many people want to support the orphanage but still have difficulty getting accurate information about the orphanage and the location of the orphanage so they have to go to the social service office or by asking the community to get information about the local orphanage. This surely has an impact on the activities of donors who donates on a regular basis without knowing the conditions of other orphanages in the local area that are more likely to receive the donation. This application applies a Location Based Service (LBS) system that is able to detect the location of an orphanage, then can provide information services in accordance with the user's location. LBS is a location-based service, which is an internet-based service that is able to display position geographically from a smartphone or provide location information from the destined address. The aim of this research is to create an application that can provide information to donors through android about the location of orphanages in Makassar City with navigation features and display information related to orphanages to make it easier for donors to conclude which orphanages need more donations. This application can provide information for donors of android users to get convenience in finding and knowing the location of orphanages in the city of Makassar through an android mobile device to do donation activities.

Abstract:
At this time the public is already aware of the value of sharing with the needy, so the search for orphanages is increasing drastically. Similarly, the use of maps on smartphones is increasing because people are aware of technology and use it in every day. But often people are troubled to know the location of the orphanage in around, as well as the condition of the orphanage which includes the number of children, the number of caretakers, and what are the needs of the orphanage without coming to the location of the orphanage. In addition, there are often overlapping scheduling problems that often make people who want to hold activities experience unilateral cancellation and there is also the issue of donations where people are confused how to give a little from their income to the orphanage without having to come to the location. With agile development systems method designed nearby location application using Google place, which is obtained the core of the problem is the difficulty of finding information orphanages and not easy to find orphanages around. Therefore, with this nearby location application is expected to help the public to find information on orphanages closest to their location, as well as be able to schedule activities that can be monitored in real time. So there is no overlap back on the activity. In addition, there is a function of giving donations, so that people can donate without having to come to the orphanage.

Abstract:
The article discusses the activities and the main goal of the Armenian Orphans Care Society, which was established in Egypt in 1905 and was reorganized in 1916 – to provide the urgent and necessary assistance to orphans, which survived the massacres and hunger, in particular in Cilicia. The Society launched its activities through the departments in Cairo and Alexandria and via many branches, commissions, and groups of volunteers. The Orphans’ Care Society cooperated with several international and local Armenian benevolent organizations. The article describes fundraising activities, lotteries, and the system of donation boxes organized by the Society. The Society spent the entire profit to fund the orphanages in Adana, Ayntap, Anturay, Damascus, and Baghdad–Baquba. The Orphans’ Care Society played a significant role in orphan gathering activities in Cilicia, accommodating orphans in its orphanages in Adana and Ayntap. The Adana orphanage launched its activities in 1919 at the suggestion of Ruben Heryan, Egypt’s Armenians’ delegate in Syria. The number of orphans was gradually growing and reached 1,300, which created some problems regarding the funding and accommodation of orphans. The article discusses the situation in the orphanage, the issues related to food, education, healthcare, and other daily problems. The orphanage leadership sought to solve those problems by cooperating with Orphans’ Care Society and Armenian National Union, which partly funded the orphanage. After the activation of Kemalists in Cilicia, the Society organized the relocation of 700 orphans from Adana orphanage to Mersin, where AGBU took care of part of the orphans. Regarding the Ayntap orphanage, the delegate of Cilicia Hakob Aghazarm visited the Ayntap orphanage in August 1919. He established a special caretaker-steering body chaired by Nerses vicar Tavugchyan, while Gevorg Aslanyan was appointed president. Aghazarm personally participated in the first sessions. Shortly after, the director of the Hama orphanage – Ghazaros Ghplikyan, moved to Ayntap with the last remaining orphans and became the director of the new orphanage. The Society would like to keep up to 500 orphans in the orphanage, but it failed to reach that goal due to the political situation. The Ayntap orphanage orphans moved to Jounieh coastal settlement in Lebanon in July 1920. The Society cooperated with the American Relief organization to fund the orphanage. The article describes the educational and artisanship activities of the orphanage. The Society was led by the ideology of national unity, emphasizing the significance of the activities aimed at protecting the Armenian identity of orphans. The Society periodically printed the name lists of the orphans of Adana and Ayntap orphanages in its official “Vorbuni” magazine and names of their parents, their birthplaces, and other information to activate the work to find the relatives of orphans or foster the adoption process. During its activities, the Society saved up to 3,400 orphans; 1,500 were first kept in Cilicia and later relocated to Lebanon.

Abstract:
Specifically the problem for orphanage children is that there is still a weak ability to master the learning material quickly (Quantum Learning) and soft skills. The observations at the Orphanage showed that the development of material for mastering rapid learning skills (Quantum Learning) and soft learning was still very little. In addition, the lack of learning media facilities also inhibits the improvement of rapid learning skills (Quantum Learning) and soft skills for the orphanage children. To answer these problems, UMRI collaborated with Putri Aisyiah Orphanage and Al Hasanah Orphanage in community partnership activities in line with the Ristekdikti Program. Both of these Orphanages are in the same area as Muhammadiyah Riau University in Pekanbaru City. Putri Aisyiah Orphanage Pekanbaru was established in 1979 and currently carries 31 people. While the Al-Hasanah Orphanage was established in 2000 and currently carries 90 children. In this program, Quantum Learning and soft skill material have been given the target of increasing the ability to learn quickly and instill character strengthening, ethics. Then the ToT Quantum Learning and Softskill workshop was carried out to the orphanage building teacher. This activity was published in the media and the publication of scientific journals.

Abstract:
This paper is intended to describe the psychological dynamics of adolescents living in orphanages. How are the psychological dynamics of adolescents in living their adolescence without direct guidance and affection from their parents. This study uses a qualitative approach with phenomenological methods. From the results of this study, it was concluded that there were significant differences in the psychological dynamics of adolescents living in orphanages because they had to be entrusted by parents with adolescents living in an orphanage because of their own desires. Psychologically, adolescents who are forced to live in orphanages tend to close themselves off from their environment. Meanwhile, adolescents who live in homes because of their own desires, they tend to be more open to their environment. In addition, the age factor when they enter the orphanage environment also affects their psychological dynamics. Those who enter the orphanage when they are children tend to be more adaptable. Conversely, those who enter when they are teenagers tend to have more difficulty adapting. Therefore, it is hoped that the management of the orphanage can understand the psychological dynamics of adolescents and their struggles, so that it can help them to live adolescence properly, even without the presence of their biological parents.

Muhammadiyah Orphanage is a social welfare institution that shapes the growth and development of children who do not have families or who do not live with their families. The data management system currently running at the Muhammadiyah Orphanage is still manual which is recorded in a ledger and microsoft office word. Data processing like this will certainly make it difficult for administrators to present reports because it takes a relatively long time so as to allow errors in data management. In addition, there is no complete information about the Muhammadiyah orphanage so that donors must come to the orphanage to get information. The purpose of this thesis research is the Web-Based Engineering Information System of Muhammadiyah Sumbawa Orphanage Management. This system successfully designed and built using programming language PHP, HTML, CSS, MySQL Database, Sublime-Text Text Editor, qualitative research methods and using the Waterfall software development method. The final result of this thesis is Muhammadiyah Orphanage Management Information System Sumbawa Web-Based that will make it easier for administrators to manage orphanage data and make it easier for donors to find information about Muhammadiyah orphanages.

This field research employed qualitative research approach. Data collection was conducted by interview, observation, and documentation. The data were then analyzed by data reduction, data display, and verification to draw conclusions. The respondents of the research consisted of the head of the orphanage, several caregivers and children residing in the orphanage. The results indicated that first, the ability of the caregivers in developing the children’s morals included knowing the nature and characters of the children, communicating well and politely, acting in accordance with religious norms, planning the development program, and being responsible for the children. Second, the coaching methods applied by caregivers were role modeling, habituation, giving advice, storytelling, and promises and punishments. Third, the supporting factors in fostering morals of the children involved a conducive orphanage environment, a religious community environment, and good cooperation between the caregivers and the management of the orphanage. On the other hand, the inhibiting factors were the diverse background of the children and the lack of caregivers. This research is expected to provide benefits to all caregivers in orphanages throughout Indonesia about children's moral development, to the Social Office, to pay more attention to the caregivers in the orphanages, one of which is by providing regular training on the character development of children, and to the universities for sharing knowledge with any caregivers in orphanages and providing enlightenment to them in guiding the morals of children.

Abstract:
In 2011, Indonesia commenced an orphanage deinstitutionalization strategy known as the paradigm change in child protection. The strategy responded to human rights protocols emphasizing institutional care of children as a last resort. Orphanage based social workers were trained by the Ministry of Social Affairs (MOSA) to implement the paradigm change, increase parenting capacity and strengthen local supports to enable children’s reunification with their families. The paradigm change intended to reduce children coming into institutional care; however, we found a persistent growth of non-orphaned children being recruited to orphanages since 2011 and more orphanages being built to accommodate them. Islamic philanthropic activities were identified as supporting and contributing growth to the orphanage trade. Despite the paradigm change, social workers were financially incentivization to recruit children to orphanages. There were no similar incentives to deinstitutionalize them. This paper uses selective quotes from the larger study, of social workers interviewed, to assist with theorizing the high potential of Islamic philanthropy in supporting Indonesia’s growing orphan trade. We propose that philanthropy, including where there are good faith and good intentions, may be contributing to some not so good outcomes, including trafficking and modern-day slavery.

Abstract:
Resilience is the ability to endure and face and resolve problems or pressures. This is what adolescents who live in orphanages must have. Adolescents who live in orphanages are included in the children at risk group, where these adolescents tend to have a greater chance of experiencing shocks in terms of emotions, intellectuals, social and behavior. In increasing resilience, one of them is by having gratitude. This literature review aims to show that the important role of gratitude can increase resilience in adolescents who live in orphanages. There are several situations that can make the orphanage youth depressed, for example the lack of attachment between the foster child and the caregiver, the regulations in the orphanage that are not in accordance with the condition of the adolescents, limited facilities and other situations. This is what makes adolescents in orphanages need to have good resilience in order to have the ability to survive and face and solve problems or pressures. This paper is expected to help increase the role of gratitude so that adolescents who live in orphanages have good resilience.

The data in this study were obtained from various sources: observation, interviews, and literature studies. While the types of data obtained are primary data and secondary data. Studies and literature use concepts and theories related to research. From the results of this study, the authors found that the Mutiara Bani Solihin Orphanage has an essential role in the welfare of neglected children. Orphanages try to replace the position of parents who have to educate and raise their children. The orphanage carries out various programs and regulations for the welfare of the foster children, such as formal and non-formal education. Several factors encourage orphanages to prosper foster children there, namely the existence of adequate facilities and infrastructure, the support of the local community, and caregivers with high social spirits. The factor that hinders the welfare process for foster children there is the unclear administration of children. This happens because many parents leave their children without providing a complete identity, so sometimes the orphanage has difficulty registering their children for school.

The catering operation at the Aisyiyah Sidoarjo Orphanage generates about 5-7 kg of organic waste each day. The orphanage does not currently have a waste segregation site, which means that waste is mixed together and wrapped in plastic, which is obviously bad for the environment. In order to maintain cleanliness and environmental health and to improve the orphanage's economy by using Eco Enzyme fluids, the community service's objective is to give orphanage children early training in the processing of organic waste into Eco Enzyme. The method is through lectures and the practice of making eco enzymes. This program produces Eco Enzyme and its fermentation, which can be used to make liquid plant fertilizer, treat burns and itching, clean bathrooms and floors, and dish soap-and-liquid bath soap blend.

Transcarpathian lands territorial subordination to Hungary in 1939 led to a change in the name of the region: instead of Subcarpathian Russia (during the period of Transcarpathian lands belong to the Czechoslovak Republic) Transcarpathian lands that returned to Hungary were called “Subcarpathia”. Childhood education and social protection were the the Podkarpackie Regent Commissioner’s responsibility, who appointed the principal of the Podkarpackie school district, and decisions on orphans and children deprived of parental care were the district orphanage courts’ responsibility. The Hungarian government organized a number of humanitarian actions in the returned territories through the involvement of government organizations “Hungarian for Hungarian” and the State League for the Protection of Children. With the beginning of hostilities, some boarding schools were subject to re-profiling: a separate structural unit of the Mukachevo State Orphanage “Orphanage for the crippled” was reorganized into the therapeutic department of the hospital in Mukachevo, and the educational building of the orphanage in Nad Sevlyush transferred to the use of the Hungarian army. The living and feeding conditions of pupils in boarding schools in Podkarpackie, and especially in orphanages (Greek-Catholic orphanage “Holy Family”) and family-type settlements have become more complicated. Constant changes in the pupils’ contingent, state orphanages employees’ places of work have led to late and incorrect payment of salaries to teachers and support staff of boarding schools.Conclusions. The boarding schools practice in Transcarpathia in the period 1939–1944 is characterized by the following trends: 1)boarding education curtailment in connection with the hostilities start, which reduced staffing and reduced the level of material and technical support of the educational process in boarding schools; 2)spreading the religious and public organizations influence (League for the Children’s Protection, “Levente”, “Hungarian for Hungarian”, etc.)Key words: boarding schools, orphanages, Transcarpathia, Hungary.

Abstract:
This study discusses the practice of social exchange at joint prayer activities at the 'X' Orphanage in Sidoarjo. The joint prayer activities at the 'X' Sidoarjo Orphanage were routinely carried out by two main donors who at the same time became one of the main informants of this study. The purpose of this study is to know how to practice social exchange using the social exchange theory of George C. Homans. There are five propositions presented by Homans in his exchange theory which are the main discussion in this study. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative with the subject of research as many as three main informants consisting of orphanage owners and two main donors to the orphanage. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study show that social exchanges that occur between orphanages and donors in prayer activities together wrap exchanges that are actually economic. Where, both donors carry out joint prayers as a manifestation of the implementation of CSR programs and the obligation to pay zakat. This then has the effect of peace of mind for the two donors over the fall of economic and religious obligations inherent in both. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.17977/um021v4i12019p059

Abstract:
Adolescence is a period when someone begins to build broader social relationships and make decisions independently. However, many cases of adolescent social relationships actually provide negative experiences that hinder their development and threaten their future. Adolescents who live in orphanage have greater vulnerability to trapped in unhealthy social relationships. Assertiveness is the quality of a person to believe in himself, being able to communicate his thoughts, feelings, and emotions without driven by fear of others. Assertiveness assistance to adolescents in orphanages is important because assertiveness is a complement to the values and norms they receive in schools and orphanages. Without assertiveness, their knowledge of values and norms will not be effective. Assertiveness is a psychological construct that can be changed through a behavioral intervention program. With this assertiveness assistance program,we hope adolescents in orphanage could develop positive social relationships and reject negative invitations or pressures that make them trapped in unhealthy relationships, so that their future could be better.

Abstract:
This study is an exploratory qualitative examination of two separate non-profit family-style orphanages in Guatemala. The researchers used a grounded theory approach to study semi-structured interviews of caregivers ( N = 20). Caregivers mainly consisted of ‘ tias’ who lived with the children and teachers who taught the children at the schools associated with the orphanage. The following categories emerged from the data: sense of belonging, hope for the future, and the importance of structure (e.g. organization and schedule). There was also an emphasis on religion in both the sense of belonging and hope for the future categories. This study adds to the emerging research regarding family-style orphanage care and focuses on caregiver perspectives.

Abstract:
Community service is a form of dedication by students or lecturers by pouring knowledge, experience and other things that have been obtained to go down directly to the community. The author carries out community service which is one part of the author's Field Work Practice. This community service was carried out at the Pintu Harapan Orphanage. The problem that the author helped to solve in this service began with the emergence of the Covid-19 Pandemi, this resulted in the emergence of obstacles for orphanage children such as the lack of understanding of orphanage children towards the supporting devices for the Hybrid and also restoring interest in learning for orphans during the pandemi. The implementation of the activity was carried out for approximately three months to see whether the objectives of the program were achieved and the authors were able to find answers and solutions to these obstacles. The author carried out this activity by setting the object of service, namely six 5th grade elementary school students. Implementation is used with groupwork such as Focus Group Discussion (FGD). At the end of the activity the author has found activities that can be a reference for orphanages to reduce obstacles for orphans in carrying out learning during a pandemi like this time and the author hopes that orphanage children can study diligently even during a pandemi
