Abstract:
This thesis deals with manners of interaction of teachers with children in kindergartens and focuses mainly on solving problematic situations. We are examining question on how to strengthen resilience of children and what ways of interactions with teachers contribute to this process. To find recommendations for interactions with preschool children, we are looking at needs and characteristics of preschool children and comparing various models of resilience in the theoretical part of the work. The theories of Bandura and Seligman form a basis for our approach, but we also contrast them with other sources. At the same time, we are looking at results of international studies describing nature of interactions in their preschool institutions. In the empirical part, we look at the question, which interactions teacher-child occur with highest frequency when solving a problematic situation and if these interactions from teacher to child can be considered as supportive for strengthening resilience of the child. Our research is based on the analysis of 242 events recorded in preschool institutions in Prague. We compare our results with German study of König (2006), from which we have adapted part of the coding scheme. Abstract:

Mentally retarded children, teenagers and adults form a specific, one of the most numerous, group among handicapped people. Mental retardation is a mental impairment characterised by subaverage intelectual functioning, different development of psychic qualities and limitations in adaptive behaviour. It is usually caused by an organic brain damage. The retardation is not a disease, it´s a long-life handicap. The findings of the research has shown that persons with a mild mental retardation hardly ever find a job in the open labour market or in the sheltered workshops. However, the employers are not also concerned in providing these people with a job.

Abstract:
The concept of academic self-efficacy, which refers to Albert`Bandura`s self-efficacy theory, is an important factor in students` academic achievement. In this thesis we attempted to develop a research tool for assessing academic self-efficacy. The theoretical part focuses on general definition of self-efficacy and specific characteristics of perceived academic self-efficacy. The empirical part deals with the development of the questionnaire, with verification of its psychometric characteristics and determines its validity. The questionnaire was tested on a research sample of 611 students of five Prague secondary schools, aged 15 - 19. The findings indicate that the developed assessment tool is reliable, has good psychometric qualities and satisfactory validity, and is applicable in school practice. The research has also revealed interesting relations between academic self-efficacy and other variables such as gender, age or demanding school situations experienced by student. Abstract:
The thesis deals with the problem of the existence of consciousness in the physical world. It denies the approach that is prevailing in the contemporary philosophy of mind that treats the phenomenal consciousness and intentionality separately. The position held in this thesis is to claim that the phenomenal character of consciousness and intentionality are inseparable and that it is impossible to understand the former without understanding the latter, and vice versa. The problem of the existence of consciousness in the physical world is viewed as the problem of the existence of (conscious) intentionality in the physical world. With the aim to achieve an analysis of intentionality that would keep its phenomenal character and the first person point of view, and, at the same time, shed light on its realization in the physical world, thoughts of Peter Strawson, G. E. M. Anscombe, Tim Crane, Colin McGinn and John Searle are discussed. The result is an outline of intentionality that allows to explain the fundamental level of intentionality as a physical process and the higher levels of intentionality as a development of the fundamental level. Two principles are crucial for this approach: the development of intentionality from the fundamental level to the higher level is comprehensible only if we keep the...
