En strategisk fysisk planering har under flera år varit något som förespråkats från statligt håll i Sverige, men trots detta så har idealen inte fått något tydligt fäste i den kommunala planeringen. The gradual blending of classical science and epistemology with indigenous/traditional practices and modes of understanding (particularly magic and religion) in the early western Middle Ages tends to be misunderstood. The purpose of this study is to address the reason(s) why the early medieval West has been labeled an irrational, unscientific â Dark Ageâ in order to point out that this conceptionâ s existence has more to do with limited historical perspectives than with reality. The anachronistic superimposition of modern presuppositions and methodological expectations is a very old phenom

Abstract:
This paper determines whether monoid rings with the two-generator property have the strong two-generator property. Dedekind domains have both the two-generator and strong two-generator properties. How common is this? Two cases are considered here: the zero-dimensional case and the one-dimensional case for monoid rings. Each case is looked at to determine if monoid rings that are not PIRs but are two-generated have the strong two-generator property. Full results are given in the zero-dimensional case, however only partial results have been found for the one-dimensional case.

This study explores the relationship between ideals of motherhood and heterosexual normativity, from the perspective of women at the margins of these discourses. The title, In the shadow of Motherhood, illustrates the overriding power of the image of motherhood to marginalise alternative experiences. The concept of motherhood, like that of Family, has traditionally signalled the reproduction of the normative; it does not usually encompass the critical scrutiny that would allow for diverse experiences of mothering. Theoretically, the study is located within the fields of feminist sociology and

How does the brain encode the spatial structure of the external world? A partial answer comes through place cells, hippocampal neurons which become associated to approximately convex regions of the world known as their place fields. When an organism is in the place field of some place cell, that cell will fire at an increased rate. A neural code describes the set of firing patterns observed in a set of neurons in terms of which subsets fire together and which do not. If the neurons the code describes are place cells, then the neural code gives some information about the relationships between t

This study examines the potential impact of a diagnosis of HIV on gay men's ideas about themselves and their experiences of forming new sexual relationships with other men. Particular focus is given to changes in participants' thoughts/ feelings about themselves post diagnosis and how such changes were manifested. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with nine participants who all self identified as gay men and who had received a diagnosis of HIV at least twelve months previously. The study consists of interviews with the recruiters and growth leads of the studied firm, a case study of a firm that has omitted resumes in their salesperson recruitment processes, and sample tests performed on candi

It does so from the conviction that such episodes provide a valuable opportunity to explore the conceptions of princely character held and articulated by British officials, and to assess to what extent such conceptions informed British expectations of the princes, and thus shaped the daily and local practice of indirect rule in colonial India.
