Abstract:

Mabayuh Oton ceremony has several special functions that are first functioning religiously. This ceremony is one of the manusa yadnya ceremonies held in Bali which aims to free human beings from the shackles of Sad Ripu or the nature of the gamut brought from birth. After mabayuh oton has been executed, the bad traits will be controlled and emerging traits that are in accordance with the norms of moral Hindu religion and the basis of a holy life. Secondly, itserves as a form of local culture of the Balinese community which until now is still held. Third, This ceremony serves to the character building of children. According to the naturalistic view of the children character beside of being formed by the environmental factors, their character are also built innate factors.

Abstract:

The paper presents the literary writings and cultural-political activities of Oton Župančič in the period before the World War I and during the war with the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes or the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, respectively. Based on the analysis of Župančič's cultural-political activities, his poems with national(istic) and political substance published in journals/newspapers, books of poetry – notably the collection V zarje Vidove (In the Vitus Dawn), selected essays, notes and correspondences, it was possible with respect to the mentioned period to discern his concern for the nation's fate, i.e. his attitude towards Slovene and Yugoslav identity. As a Bela Krajina native, he identified as both a Slovene and a Yugoslav at the same time. But his definition of an integral Yugoslav identity in the first few decades of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes did not include language unitarism.

Skladbe so si po obdelavi motivov in obravnavi posameznih glasovnih skupin precej podobne in slogovno ustrezajo novoromatničnim potezam ter tudi impresionizmu.

Abstract:

Increasing traffic volumes in the Internet put strict requirements to the architectureof optical core networks. The exploding number of Internet users, andmassive increase in Internet content consumption forces carriers to constantlyupgrade and transform their core networks in order to cope with the trafficgrowth. The choice of both physical components and transport protocols inthe core network is crucial in order to provide satisfactorily performance.Data traffic in the core network consists of a wide variety of protocols.OTN is a digital wrapper technology, responsible for encapsulating existingframes of data, regardless of native protocol, and adding additional overheadfor addressing, OAM and error control. The wrapped signal is thentransported directly over wavelengths in the optical transport network. Thecommon OTN wrapper overhead makes it possible to monitor and controlthe signals, regardless of the protocol type being transported.OTN is standardized by the ITU through a series of recommendations,the two most important being ITU-T G.709 - "Interfaces for the OpticalTransport Network", and ITU-T G.872 - "Architecture of the Optical TransportNetwork". OTN uses a flexible TDM hierarchy in order to provide highwavelength utilization. The TDM hierarchy makes it possible to performswitching at various sub-wavelength bit rates in network nodes.An introduction to OTN and an overview of recent progress in OTNstandardization is given in the thesis. An OTN switch which utilizes theflexible multiplexing hierarchy of OTN is proposed, and its characteristics istested in a network scenario, comparing it to the packet switched alternative.Simulation results reveal that OTN switching doesn’t provide any performancebenefits compared to packet switching in the core network. OTNswitches do however provide bypass of intermediate IP routers, reducing therequirements for router processing power in each network node. This reducesoverall cost, and improves network scalability.An automatically reconfigurable OTN switch which rearranges link subcapacitiesbased on differences in output buffer queue lengths is also proposedand simulated in the thesis. Simulation results show that the reconfigurableOTN switch has better performance than both pure packet switching andregular OTN switching in the network scenario.

Le catalogue raisonné est constitué de deux parties. L'une répertorie en 789 illustrations documentées, classées par ordre thématique et chronologique, l'œuvre peint d'Emile Othon Friesz. L'autre comprend une biographie détaillée commentée et illustrée de photographies, témoignages, une sélection de lettres manuscrites de l'artiste, une liste d'expositions et une bibliographie. Friesz, pourtant considéré comme un artiste important dans l'histoire de l'art du XXème siècle, reste mal connu et peu d'études lui ont été consacrées. Il nait le 6 février 1879 au Havre et meurt le 9 janvier 1949 à Paris. Il est d'abord élève de L'Huillier au Havre, puis de Bonnat à l'Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts de Paris où il arrive en 1897, rejoint par ses deux camarades havrais : Raoul Dufy et Georges Braque. Le groupe des trois amis, avec Friesz pour chef, qu' Apollinaire nomme "école du Havre", se distingue en 1906 parmi les principaux acteurs du fauvisme. Des 1908, l'œuvre de Cézanne, tant admiré par Friesz, lui inspire un style personnel qui trouve sa pleine expression entre les deux guerres. Il y révèle un intérêt indéniable pour la peinture classique et un respect pour un "beau métier", ce qui lui vaut d'être cite parmi les artiste du retour à l'ordre. This catalogue "raisonné" comes in two volumes. One that lists 789 commentated illustrations of the pictorial works of Emile Othon Friesz, classed by theme and by chronological order. The second volume comprises of a detailed biography marked by photographic documents, a selection of manuscripted letters of the artist, a list of exhibitions and a bibliography. Although Friesz is considered to be an important artist in the history of art of the 20th century, little research and few publications have been dedicated to him and the remains little known. Friesz was born on the 6th of February 1879 in Le Havre and died on the 9th of January 1949 in Paris. First L'Huillier's student in Le Havre, he then enters the studio of Bonnat at the école nationale des beaux arts in Paris where he arrives in 1897, soon joined by two fellow students from Le Havre, Dufy and Braque. This group of three friends with Friesz as head that Apollinaire names "the école du Havre", distinguishes itself in 1906 amongst the principal protagonists of fauvism. In 1908, the work of Cézanne so greatly admired by Friesz, breathes into him a personal style which leads him to be known as an artist of the "retour a l'ordre". But it is the citation of Dorival, "between tradition and baroque" that sums up best the singularity of Friesz's painting

No período da Guerra Fria, o desempenho da OTAN fora dos limites territoriais abrangidos pelo Artigo 6º sucedia-se por meio de arranjos informais e operações que não estivessem sob o seu comando. Logo, a atuação da OTAN no Atlântico Sul ocorreu de forma bastante limita-da em decorrência da ausência de uma política oficial acerca das operações out-of-area. Com o fim da era bipolar, a OTAN ganhou maior espaço de atuação no mundo e deixou de ser uma mera aliança militar, sob a base da defesa coletiva e, transformou-se em uma organização de segurança coletiva. Do mesmo modo, ao longo dos anos 2000, o Atlântico Sul adquire impor-tância estratégica aos olhos das potências globais e regionais, constituindo-se como uma área de oportunidades econômicas para conquista de autonomia energética e de projeção de poder político e militar. Portanto, a pesquisa tem por objetivo analisar como se dá a atuação da Or-ganização do Tratado do Atlântico Norte (OTAN) no ambiente geoestratégico do Atlântico Sul. Isso serve para compreender as motivações que conduzem os membros a envolver a or-ganização em uma área que oferece poucas ameaças às suas seguranças e que não foi contem-plada no seu mais recente Conceito Estratégico de 2010. Nessa pesquisa, elencam-se três fato-res de envolvimento da Aliança na região: os recursos naturais, a realidade de segurança e a crescente presença de China, Índia, Rússia. Temos que para países como França, Inglaterra, Portugal e EUA, que já possuem significativa influência na região, há maiores vantagens em engajar a OTAN no Atlântico Sul. Por outro lado, a falta de clareza dos objetivos da organi-zação na região cria uma imagem de desconfiança para as potências regionais (Brasil, Argen-tina) que assumem uma postura defensiva em evitar a interferência de atores extrarregionais em seus espaços estratégicos. De forma geral, a pesquisa mostra que a participação da Aliança no Atlântico Sul serve para reforçar os interesses dos aliados e reformular as relações de força na região por meio de acordos diplomáticos, exercícios militares conjuntos, formação de par-cerias, intercâmbio de recursos e capacidades como se vê nas relações da OTAN com Cabo Verde, Mauritânia, Colômbia e outros países desse entorno regional.
In the period of the Cold War, NATO's performance outside the territorial boundaries covered by Article 6 was provided through informal arrangements and operations that were not under its command. Therefore, NATO's action in the South Atlantic had occurred in a very limited way due to the absence of an official policy on out-of-area operations. With the end of the bi-polar era, NATO gained more space in the world and it is no longer only to be a mere military alliance, under the base of collective defense, and became a collective security organization. Likewise, throughout the 2000s, the South Atlantic acquired strategic importance in the eyes of global and regional powers, constituting itself as an area of economic opportunities for the achievement of energy autonomy and the projection of political and military power. There-fore, the aim of the research is to analyze how the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) operates in the geostrategic environment of the South Atlantic. This is to understand the motivations that lead members to involve the organization in an area that offers few threats to its security and that was not contemplated in its most recent Strategic Concept 2010. In this research, there are three factors of Alliance's involvement in the region: natural re-sources, security reality and the increasing presence of China, India, Russia. For countries such as France, England, Portugal and the USA, which already have significant influence in the region, there are greater advantages in engaging NATO in the South Atlantic. On the other hand, the lack of clarity of the organization's objectives in the region creates a distrust image for the regional powers (Brazil, Argentina) that take a defensive stance in avoiding the inter-ference of extra-regional actors in their strategic spaces. Overall, the research shows that the Alliance's participation in the South Atlantic serves to reinforce the interests of allies and to reshape the region's power relations through diplomatic agreements, joint military exercises, partnerships, exchange of resources and capacity as it is seen in NATO relations with Cape Verde, Mauritania, Colombia and other countries in this region.

Com o fim da era bipolar, a OTAN ganhou maior espaço de atuação no mundo e deixou de ser uma mera aliança militar, sob a base da defesa coletiva e, transformou-se em uma organização de segurança coletiva. Abstract:

BACKGROUND: The need to create controlled vocabularies such as ontologies for knowledge organization and access has been widely recognized in various domains. Despite the indispensable need of thorough domain knowledge in ontology construction, most software tools for ontology construction are designed for knowledge engineers and not for domain experts to use. The differences in the opinions of different domain experts and in the terminology usages in source literature are rarely addressed by existing software. METHODS: OTO software was developed based on the Agile principles. Through iterations of software release and user feedback, new features are added and existing features modified to make the tool more intuitive and efficient to use for small and large data sets. The software is open source and built in Java. RESULTS: Ontology Term Organizer (OTO; http://biosemantics.arizona.edu/OTO/) is a user-friendly, web-based, consensus-promoting, open source application for organizing domain terms by dragging and dropping terms to appropriate locations. The application is designed for users with specific domain knowledge such as biology but not in-depth ontology construction skills. Specifically OTO can be used to establish is_a, part_of, synonym, and order relationships among terms in any domain that reflects the terminology usage in source literature and based on multiple experts' opinions. The organized terms may be fed into formal ontologies to boost their coverage. All datasets organized on OTO are publicly available. CONCLUSION: OTO has been used to organize the terms extracted from thirty volumes of Flora of North America and Flora of China combined, in addition to some smaller datasets of different taxon groups. User feedback indicates that the tool is efficient and user friendly. Being open source software, the application can be modified to fit varied term organization needs for different domains.

Abstract:

Actualmente, o desenvolvimento de orientação, navegação e sistemas de controlo de aeronaves tem sido uma área de forte exploração. Com a necessidade de resposta a sistemas mais confiáveis e robustos, tem existido uma criação de inúmeros métodos relacionados com o desempenho da aeronave. Pretende-se com este trabalho, propor um método de navegação autónoma em loiters normalizados pela OTAN. Para tal utiliza-se, um método não linear de controlo feedback baseado nas derivadas de Lie para a orientação de navegação de veículos aéreos não tripulados (UAV). Parametrizando cada loiter, obtemos para cada um dos casos, uma trajectória quadrimensional que permitiu uma orientação para uma aeronave, sem ultrapassar as restrições das variáveis de controlo.

O presente trabalho objetiva entender a perspectiva de luta do sindicato de trabalhadores rurais de Teófilo Otoni, cidade localizada no nordeste de Minas Gerais. Para tal, busca entender a base a partir do qual emerge o sindicalismo rural no Brasil. Nesse aspecto a "questão agrária" e especificamente a concentração fundiária, são evidenciadas. Para tentar entender a persistência desta centramos nossa explicação em duas linhas: a) a "questão agrária" enquanto um problema presente na sua formação social e econômica e b) a "questão agrária" enquanto um dos pilares sob os quais se dá o desenvolvimento do capitalismo brasileiro. Desta situação de não resolução do problema agrário emergem os sindicatos de trabalhadores rurais, tendo o Partido Comunista Brasileiro - PCB papel pioneiro como fomentador. Na pesquisa realizada detectamos que no caso de Teófilo Otoni, foi a Igreja Católica a grande incentivadora para a formação do sindicato local. A operacionalização de serviços sócio-assistenciais, que remonta à sua fundação e o incipiente processo de formação política dos dirigentes sindicais são apontados enquanto fatores decisivos para a postura defensiva e assistencialista da referida instituição no momento presente.

Abstract : This work aims to understand the perspective of the struggle of the trade union rural workers of Teófilo Otoni, a town in northeastern of the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Thus, search to understanding the base which emerges the trade union rural on the Brazil. Under these aspect the "agrarian issue" and specifically the latifundium is evidenced. Thus, focus us explication in two lines: a) the "agrarian issue" while problem present in the social and economic formation of Brazil and b) the "agrarian issue" while one of the pillars upon which occurs the development of capitalism Brazilian. Of this situation emerges the rural workers union, and the Partido Comunista Brasileiro - PCB pioneering role as developers. However, other entities also entered this process. In this research we found that in the case of Teófilo Otoni, the Catholic Church was a great incentive for the formation of the local trade union. The operationalization of social assistance services, which dates back to its foundation and incipient process of political formation of the trade union leaders are indicated while decisive factors for defensive posture and welfare of that institution at the present time.

Abstract:

In my Masters’ thesis, I studied the intertwining of English and Finnish in spoken language, in a setting of playing a pen-and-paper role-playing game. My main focus was to study the phenomenon as a whole, to see how and why English is mixed into Finnish. The theoretical framework drew on multilingualism and superdiversity of language, as the current paradigm sees language as in a state of constant change. I used autoethnography as my method, in order to find out where code-mixing and borrowing occurred and to gain insight, by using my own experiences as guide, on why it happened. I hoped that my own experiences and feelings could shed more light into the intertwining of the two languages. The study was conducted by recording one full session of role-playing, with five participants including myself. The role-playing setting enabled a good use of the autoethnographic method and created an authentic situation for the language use. Since the rules of the role-playing game were in English, as is the usual case, the English use was probably more pronounced than in an everyday conversation. It enabled me to gather a lot of data even from a single session, proving the setting to be fruitful. The study showed intertwining of the languages in multiple ways. It occurred regularly in the conversations and in many different varieties, including but not limited to terminology, exclamations and anglicizations. The participants often modified the language resources, for example through pronunciation and inflection, to fit the flow of the predominantly Finnish speech. The participants also created their own hybrid terms, not taken directly from the rules. Usually, several ways of language intertwining occurred within a single conversation. Code-mixing occurs usually very quickly and subconsciously. However, through my experiences, I believe that the main reasons for the English use were the rules, convenience and excitement or frustration. Since the scope of the study was quite limited, further research to different gaming situations can be used to see other sides of the phenomenon. One useful avenue might also be to study several groups gaming with the same rules and comparing the results gained
Pro gradu -työssäni tutkin puhekielessä tapahtuvaa englannin ja suomen yhteen nivoutumista pöytäroolipelitilanteessa. Keskitin huomioni erityisesti ilmiön tutkimiseen kokonaisuutena, selvittääkseni millä tavoin ja minkä takia englanti sekoittuu suomen kieleen. Teoreettinen viitekehykseni ammensi monikielisyydestä ja kielen superdiversiteetistä, sillä nykyinen paradigma näkee kielen alati muuttuvana. Käytin tutkimusmenetelmänä autoetnografiaa, selvittääkseni missä koodinvaihtoa ja lainaamista tapahtuu ja jotta voisin omien kokemuksiani avulla ymmärtää ilmiön syitä paremmin. Toivoin, että omat kokemukseni ja tuntemukseni voisivat valaista kielten yhteen nivoutumista. Tutkimus toteutettiin nauhoittamalla yksi kokonainen roolipelisessio, jossa oli itseni mukaan lukien viisi osallistujaa. Roolipelitilanne mahdollisti autoetnografian käyttämisen hyvin ja loi myös autenttisen kielenkäyttötilanteen. Kuten yleensä, roolipelin säännöt olivat englanniksi, joten englannin käyttö oli luultavasti korostunutta jokapäiväiseen tilanteeseen verrattuna. Tämä mahdollisti suuren datamäärän keräämisen yhdestäkin sessiosta, tehden roolipelaamisesta hedelmällisen tutkimustilanteen. Tutkimus osoitti kielten yhteen nivoutumista monin eri tavoin. Sitä tapahtui keskusteluissa säännöllisesti ja useilla eri tavoilla, sisältäen muun muassa terminologiaa, huudahduksia ja anglismeja. Sopeuttaakseen englannin kieliresurssit pääosin suomenkieliseen puheeseen, osallistujat usein muokkasivat niitä, esimerkiksi taivuttaen tai muokaten niiden ääntämistä. Osallistujat käyttivät myös keksimiään hybriditermejä, joita ei otettu suoraan säännöistä. Oli tavallista, että useita erilaisia kielen nivoutumisen tapoja tapahtui yhden keskustelun aikana. Koodinvaihto tapahtuu yleensä hyvin nopeasti ja alitajuisesti. Silti, omien kokemuksieni myötä uskon, että pääsyyt englannin käyttöön olivat sääntöjärjestelmät, helppous ja innostuminen tai turhautuminen. Koska tutkimuksen laajuus oli rajallinen, lisätutkimus erilaisiin pelitilanteisiin voi tuoda ilmiöstä esiin uusia puolia. Mahdollinen tutkimuskohde olisi myös tutkia useita ryhmiä pelaamassa samoilla säännöillä ja vertaamalla saatuja tuloksia

A demanda de novas tecnologias de transporte de dados cada vez mais velozes e com garantias de QoS (Quality of Service), ocasionadas pelo crescimento do tráfego da Internet, traz um grande desafio na área de redes de telecomunicação. As redes ópticas de transporte se apresentam como uma solução para as elevadas taxas de transmissão. No intuito de tornar as redes de núcleo mais flexíveis e ajustadas à dinamicidade e heterogeneidade das demandas, a ITU-T (International Telecommunication Union Telecommunication Standardization Sector) desenvolve uma série de recomendações abordando as mais diversas características das redes OTN (Optcial Transport Network), no contexto das redes de núcleo, determinando suas funcionalidades. Esta dissertação tem como objetivo desenvolver uma proposta de arquitetura OTN Switch, com o funcionamento da cross-conexão e da multiplexação de sinais ópticos e digitais presentes nas redes OTN. Para tal, sua arquitetura basea-se nas recomendações geradas pela ITU-T, tornando-a capaz de prover interoperabilidade com equipamentos já existentes.

AbstractThe rapid development of 4G and multimedia services drives the exponential increase of the demand for transmission bandwidth. The OTN technology therefore emerges. In recent years, the number of OTN devices in backbone and core equipment rooms has increased sharply. However, due to factors such as equipment room planning, air conditioner, and power supply, new electrical racks cannot be installed in the same equipment room as original optical racks during OTN expansion of 80-wavelength systems. The remote deployment of OTN electrical racks has certain impact on OTN system indicators, OM/OD, and OTU optical-layer parameters. This document analyzes the factors that are affected by the remote deployment of OTN electrical racks, creates simulation models based on scenarios, and provides suggestions on the remote deployment design of OTN electrical racks.

Neste artigo, apresentam-se os dois estudos realizados na dissertação de mestrado “Sobrevivência em Redes Ópticas”. O primeiro investiga em qual camada da rede multicamada IP/MPLS sobre OTN sobre WDM, deve-se prover sobrevivência. Resultados indicam que a proteção implementada na camada OTN é mais vantajosa do que a implementada na IP/MPLS ou na camada WDM. O segundo estudo aborda sobrevivência em redes ópticas elásticas. São propostos algoritmos de sobrevivência baseados em p-cycles FIPP para uma única falha bem como para duas falhas na rede. Estes algoritmos fornecem 100% de proteção, para redes com alta conectividade.
