Full textThis research is an analytical approch to the urban area of a sahara town (touggourt) aiming to raise some questions concerning the planning of this kind of cities. Some points are emphasized: - a global analysis of the general characteristics of the region of touggourt, especially of its particular geographic nature. The aim is to show its peculiarities and then to see if they are taken into consideration when constructing a town, or on the contrary, they are neglected. - the relation between the urban area and the development factors in the town of touggourt, by showing their peculiarities and the essential role that plays each of these factors in the urban volume formation. - the importance of the current mutations on the physical as well as the socio-economical planning of town, by showing the inherent problems when developping such an urban area related to its construction level and the spatial practice of its inhabitant finally, the question of the touggourt urban volume is dicussed because there is an important deviation between a socio-climatic , reality and a planning said to be patched and changeable. This future is tighitly linked to some planning solutions proposed by town planners aswwell as by the inhabitants

Full textThe "landscape science" started in the 70ties materialized by a globalization process with the emergence of an integrating concept : the geosysem that gives a scientific importance to the study of the "landscape system". The target of this project is to elucidate the causes and the mechanism of the spatiotemporal mutations of the high Zousfana through a geosystemic reading. The multidisciplinary approach integrates all oasian landscape (natural elements and anthropic actions) by using a methodology associating life and earth sciences, social sciences and history. It starts the analysis from frescoes and rock engravings to give an archaeological outline of Saharan Paleolithic landscapes up postcolonial works of art with the recent reshaping of the oasian space. Located at the southern borders of the Algerian-Moroccan high plains and at the Northern end of the dry region of Sahara (Saharan Atlas), high Zousfana is a territory of transition the natural contrasts of which are the unity and the wealth of its landscapes. On the contrary, its traditional oases are currently undergoing an unprecedented crisis : the ksour decline with their raw earth architecture, the regression of the "hydro-phoenicicole" and the disappearance of social values ruling the oasian system. System which could function for thousand years thanks to the ingeniosity of an oasian civilization which was organized and structured by combining potentialities and constraints of the environment. This transformation of the oasian socio-economic structure brought about space mutations with changes, sometimes without any transition, of the oasian geosystem physiognomy. Its space units will keep moving with the man and climate action, its lands will undergo modifications according to politico-economic unknown factors and mentalities changes. Its future will depend on the society which will have to build or reorganize its space

Full textIn the run of this study, we have tried to highlight the outline of the spatial evolution of the soil characters in some soils on an established sequence on a geomorphological map, in the Valley of Oued Righ, area located in the Northern Sahara East of Algeria. We have thanks to a long survey selected an area on the northern edge of chott Mason and or we could identify 04 géomorphological levels (from 1 to 4) from the basic level (depression level, the o-level).We have carried out for this study 09 profiles and conducted 30 sampling of soils which 22 have underwent diffractometric treatment to the x-ray.In each constant climate, each landscape creates its mineral accumulations in the bedrock which is, and on the geochemical map from elements of the degradation of minerals in height area reconstituted in downstream. In the Saharan landscape, diffractometric of soil samples and analytical results we are revealed a break of this schema due mainly to the very characteristic wind factor in these regions and to the proximity of the groundwater to the surface (level 1 and 2) also. Indeed the results obtained show that the spatial distribution of soil is relatively tied to position units geomorphological responsible for accumulation of basic deposit salt especially of gypsum .This charged basic ion water is on secondary as precursors of aggradations .and minerals possibly neoformation of attapulgite. For levels 3 and 4 minerals identified are almost from inheritance and side intake

Full textThe present thesis was carried out in co-tutelle between University of Mostaganem (Algeria) and University of Perpignan Via Domitia (France), it was partially funded through a PHC TASSILI project (15MDU937). It aims to study the quality of waters and sediments of Cheliff river and its two important tributaries Oued Rhiou and Mina rivers. During this work, seasonal samplings were performed for both water and sediment in 15 different stations along the watercourses during wet and dry.In order to evaluate the water and sediment quality of watercourses, several parameters were analyzed: the physicochemical parameters, fluorescence amino acids and trace metals. The study reveals a significant organic contamination along the watercourses with high concentrations of conductivity, COD, BOD5 during the wet period and Cl-, TSM during the dry period. The results of trace metals showed high concentrations of Al, Fe and Ni, particularly along the Cheliff and Oued Rhiou rivers during the dry period. On the other hand, Mina river presented high concentrations of Sr and Li. The presence of tryptophan like, tyrosine like and indole like in water samples revealed the impact of untreated urban discharges rejected into watercourses. Another part of the work is devoted to assess the quality of sediments of Cheliff river and its tributaries. The results show that the Cheliff river and its tributary Oued Rhiou are characterized through the presence of high concentrations of Al, Mn, Fe, Cr, Ni, Pb, during wet and dry periods. The present study has shown that the Cheliff river and its tributaries were strongly impacted by anthropogenic pollution and natural phenomenon

Full textThe present study treats with the contamination by hydrocarbons, with superficial sediments of various stations repartee on two sites : the bay of Skikda (situated in the Mediterranean Sea) and the Saf-Saf oued (in its part downstream) with flows into this bay. This contamiation was studied by point of view geographical distribution, origin and nature of hydrocarbons extracts. The contents in found hydrocarbons are slightly more raised in the Saf-Saf oued (278 mg.kg-1sed. dry), that in the site sea (200 mg.kg-1 sed. dry). Compared with other studies made in the Mediterranean Sea, our results testify of an average level of contamination. The identification of the main origins of hydrocarbons presents in sediments of both sites, was made by using several indications relative to hydrocarbons saturated and in aromatic polycyclic hydrocarbons. The values of these indications allowd to highlight several origins for hydrocarbons as well in the Saf-Saf oued, as in Skikda bay (originate biogenic natural terristerial and/or marine, originate natural or oil pyrolytic and oil origins). A statistical study made the object of a second part of this work, by means of series of analysisesand of one-various tests (ANOVA, Tukey and Dunnett applied to periods, then to the stations for each of 5 characteristics), two-various (study of the correlations) and several-various (MANOVA, ACP and hierarchical analysis). These tests were applied to the data of both sites of studies and allowed to confirm the results obtained in the first part of the work

Full textClimatic conditions give to Oued Righ area a vocation of the Saharian agriculture dominated by palm-cultures. This vocation is explained by the existence of exceptional hydrological conditions. In fact, Oued Righ Valley is part of the Algerian Bas-Sahara which contains important subterraneous sheets of water, particularly the continental intercalation. However, if the use of these sheets has permitted the development and the expansion of cultures, their immoderate exploitation has considerably disturbed the balance of sheets (decline of the hydrostatic levels). Today, in order to safeguard oases and sheets, some requirements are indispensable. Important investments are necessary on thone hand, to achieve a modern and rational irrigation and a diversification of cultivations (by the regeneration of existing palm-groves, and the development of new areas) ; on the other hand, to a limitation of harnessing works and a strict control over the exploitation of water. All these actions lies within an over all development program concerning the whole region

Full textThe subject of this thesis is how the art of « Al-Halqa » is used in the theatrical experience of two Algerian playwrights, Ould Abderrahmane Kaki (1934-1995) and Abdelkader Alloula (1939-1994). Formerly in North Africa during the traditional holidays and the markets, people came to hear the «Goual» (storyteller), forming an «Halqa », a circle, around him. The circle has always been a space for communication, a place to celebrate collective memory and to exchange between generations. Al-Goual is a performer who vivaciously exercises this ancestral art conveying a message of wisdom and humour. Thanks to his rich repertory he amuses his audience and passes down popular culture orally. At the end of the 1960’s and the 1970’s, this art was introduced to the theatre by Kaki and Alloula, the latter giving it a veritable artistic dimension. They tried to create a new scenic genre revolving around the Goual’s performances and western theatrical techniques. This combination brought forth a popular form of entertainment called the “Al halqa theatre” with its own means of expression. Nevertheless, despite having the same roots in popular culture, their artistic approaches diverge, each following his own personal taste and ideological orientation. An analysis of their respective approaches will allow us to grasp the originality of their works

Full textIn this study conducted on the Mediterranean coast of Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia at an extended spatial and temporal scale (2200 km of coastline and about 100 years), we determine, using a "source-to- sink ", the existing relationships between erosion produced in watersheds and sediment transported in suspension by wadis, with the redistribution of these sediments along the shoreline. We propose a new empirical model of suspended sediment transport along the watersheds of our study site. We then determine the impact of dams on the sediments, and then quantitatively estimate the sedimentary contributions to the sea. We analyze the morphological characteristics of the littoral according to its geometry and the morphodynamic indices from the literature . After mapping the position of the coastline at different periods, the kinematics of the shoreline is determined, as well as the shoreline drift. These analyzes are based on the concept of a littoral cell. We conclude with a general synthesis before drawing the main conclusions on the relations between watersheds and coastal cells, such as (1) the role of precursor and sediment buffer played by deltas to limit the erosion of beaches in the sector (3) the links between sediment inputs from pre-barrage wadis, minus the volume of sediment moved by the coastal drift, with the size of the deltas and the number of coastal bars
