MicroRNAs, short noncoding RNA sequences, regulate several biological processes and seem also regulate insulin signaling, immune-mediated inflammation, adipokine expression, adipogenesis, lipid metabolism, and food intake. miRNAs may have a role in molecular mechanisms linked to cellular pathways of some diseases, as viral infections, cancer, diabetes, obesity and cardiovascular disease. The recent discovery of circulating miRNAs (c-miRNAs) easily detectable and measurable in plasma and other body fluids, led to the hypothesis of their potential role as disease indicators. Introduction: Obesity is defined for the Asian population as a body mass index (BMI) >25 kg/m2, while overweight is a BMI between 23 kg/m2 and 24.9 kg/m2. Both obesity and type 2 diabetes are major independent risk factors for cardiovascular disease according to previous literature. The data on the risk of obesity on diabetic complications are scarce, which is why this study was conducted. This study is designed to study the hypothesis that complications of diabetes are more in obese/overweight than in non-obese patients. Unfortunately, data for conditioning regimens prior to hematopoietic stem cell tranplantation in terms of pharmacokinetic and/or clinical data is still quite limited. As expected, this is also true for individuals who have chronic illnesses. The analysis also finds that individuals who engage in a sport or in other forms of exercise, even if modest, have lower odds of being overweight
