Abstract:
The close collaboration between Chick Corea and Paco de Lucía shows a clear example of the connection between jazz and flamenco. The release of Corea’s <em>My Spanish Heart </em>(1976), an explicit approach to the Latin and Spanish musical spheres, and the recordings of Paco de Lucía with jazz saxophonist Pedro Iturralde in the late 60’s led Paco and Chick to discover one another. This article offers an analytical perspective of the early years of this collaboration by reviewing Corea’s records <em>My Spanish Heart </em>and <em>Touchstone </em>(1982)<em>, </em>and De Lucía’s <em>Paco de Lucía Interpreta a Manuel de Falla</em> (1978) and <em>Solo Quiero Caminar </em>(1981), not only through the solos of the guitarist and pianist, but also through those played by the musicians who recorded and toured with both of them in the following years: Jorge Pardo and Carles Benavent.

En el presente artículo partimos del supuesto de que el proceso de restructuración capitalista de la economía brasileña, así como las tendencias a la desarticulación del sindicalismo dependiente del Estado desarrollista, dieron comienzo a partir del golpe de Estado en 1964, desactivando el"pacto populista" de los años cincuenta, en donde los sindicatos habían constituido la pieza fundamental, y rompiendo de tajo el proceso ascendente que el movimiento sindical recorría en su lucha por alcanzar su autonomía de clase frente al Estado.

Abstract:
The purpose of this research is to identify the specificity of pop and jazz stylistics as one of the characteristic trends of modern accordion art, using the analysis of the composition „Hommage a Paco” by Frank Angelis. The methods of the proposed scientific article are based on the use of research approaches (genre, style, textual, analytical), which allow to identify the specific embodiment of trends in the current stage of the development of accordion art in the modern repertoire. Scientific novelty. Despite its widespread use in practice, Frank Angelis’s composing work has not been subject to scientific understanding; in particular, his work has not been analyzed in detail in contemporary Ukraine. Conclusions. As a result of the analysis of Frank Angelis’s „Hommage a Pacco”, it was founded that the specificity of the formation is coordinated by the principle of double-frequency (the first part has an expositional character, the second – jazz-improvisational); the individuality and expressiveness of the aesthetics of the theme are determined by the dances of the famous Spanish virtuoso guitarist Paco de Lucia (Allegres, Bulires and Tangos), which underlie the work. The specificity of the harmonic plan is mainly based on alternate septaccords and noncords, and the thematicism is modified by texturing. The dedication to the creator of the „new flamenco” style is reflected in a diverse palette of playing tools, most of which mimic the specificity of guitar techniques (so the specific accordion tremolo gives the music material an expressive, precise, more sonorous sound – the color of the flamenco, and creates an invoice-like texture). Also in the melodic line are reflected specific guitar techniques, including „long picado”, „rasgeado”, „alsapua”. A peculiar feature of the composer’s style is the use of jazz elements such as: „quasi-improvisation”, „mini-solo”. Combining music from different directions, F. Angelis created the unique composition, giving it the characteristic features of Spanish flamenco and jazz music.

Este trabajo aborda el pacto librepensador suscri­to por las autoras Rosario de Acuña y Ángeles López de Ayala. Se examinan sus contribuciones en la prensa librepensadora y su activismo feminista a través de un análisis de sus colabora­ciones en Las dominicales del librepensamiento, El gladiador: órgano de la “Sociedad progresiva femenina” y El gladiador del librepensamiento. La ideología de estas publicaciones les permitió vincular la lucha feminista con la agenda política de ideología progresista. Se parte de dos ejes complementarios cuya intersección permite abordar su pacto de compromiso y transgresión: la lucha por la igualdad social y por la igualdad de género. Se estudian sus reflexiones sobre la explotación del pueblo por las castas, el empoderamiento de la mujer como agente constructor del progreso y la denuncia vehemente de su sometimiento. Se concluye que los escritos de Acuña y Ayala evidencian con el paso de los años una radicalización que pro­picia una postura cada vez más trasgresora y un feminismo más combativo, reflejando así su descontento con la actitud pater­nalista u hostil del librepensamiento y el republicanismo mas­culino en lo que respecta a los derechos de la mujer.

Abstract:
Este artículo analiza la novela Réquiem por un campesino español (1953), de Ramón J. Sender, a la luz del concepto de inocencia, proveniente de los postulados filosóficos de Sören Kierkegaard y Paul Ricoeur. El objetivo es revisar las diferentes connotaciones de este concepto en la novela para demostrar que se configura como un complejo entramado simbólico representativo del conflicto ideológico entre los personajes principales, y que, a su vez, dicho conflicto, implica al lector. La disertación presenta las nociones teóricas que definen la inocencia para analizar algunas síntesis premonitorias de la trama que la toman en cuenta. Después se analizan acciones y símbolos clave que implican a la inocencia en la vida de Paco el del Molino y el papel de Mosén Millán ante ello. Finalmente, se plantea la lucha simbólica entre el bien y el mal que refleja el estado de inocencia en el lector.

Abstract:
There are certain recordings by important artists such as Lionel Hampton, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Pedro Iturralde, Chick Corea, and Paco de Lucía, among others, that have been associated with the label flamenco jazz. This label is entering jazz discourse, and it needs to be better understood in order to clarify its history, its identity, and its impact on recent developments in flamenco that are labeled nuevo flamenco. There is a lack of agreement in the existent literature on flamenco jazz on the evaluation of these recordings and these artists' achievements and contributions to this field. These writings encompass authors from different backgrounds: journalists, critics, and musicologists, who have approached their analysis of the recordings from different perspectives. The differences in professional backgrounds, approaches, and purpose of the writings of these authors has resulted in controversy about this label. Therefore, the flamenco jazz scholarly conversation needs more objective writings from an analytical point of view. This historiographical study presents a more comprehensive evaluation of flamenco jazz by discussing selected recordings using analytical tools from jazz studies. These analytical arguments clarify the aesthetics of flamenco jazz and the artistic processes that these artists went through when combining musical elements from flamenco and jazz, which in some cases are described as creative misreading. In this century of cultural globalization, where jazz has become a diverse expression of world music because of its capacity to absorb traits from other musical practices, this study can be a resource for international jazz musicians who are seeking to combine jazz with their musical cultural heritage.

Abstract:
Flamenco guitarist Paco de Lucía, taking advantage of the ongoing cultural revolution in Spain during the seventies decided to break from tradition by shaping ”Nuevo Flamenco” through flamenco-jazz ensemble ”Paco de Lucía Sextet”. Within its repertoire, the first regular flamenco bass-line: ”Monasterio de Sal”. Electrical bassist Carles Benavent would have a key role in this development, a trait seldom found in academical works of musicology. The aim of the present thesis is to partially fill this void while shedding some light on the revolutionary contributions of Benavent. In order to do so, studying relevant literature, listening to phonograms comparatively, transcribing/analyzing ”Monasterio de Sal” and interviewing Mr. Benavent himself were used as main methods. The conclusion has been drawn that there was barely any electrical bass in flamenco before Benavent and that his work with de Lucía (and later others) would entirely reform the way electric bass was perceived from within and outside this genre of music. It is of no less interest to observe that Benavents main influences for this endeavor were the principal figures of contemporary jazz-bass (Jaco Pastorius) and flamenco-guitar (Paco de Lucía) respectively, infusing ”Monasterio de Sal”, with meaningful historical value.

Abstract:

Prior to the initial collaboration between Dizzy Gillespie and Chano Pozo resulting in Afro-Cuban jazz during 1947, latin dance music and jazz were initially very separate styles of music with not very much in common. By the 1960s New York City gave birth to the first true Salsa music in America with jazz and Latin musicians collaborating with one another. Some of the most notable performers responsible for the creation of the "New York" sound are Ray Barretto, Eddie Palmieri, Charlie Palmieri, Johnny Pacheco and Willie Colon.The fusion between Puerto Rico and New York's salsa music with jazz was stated through the music of Papo Lucca and Ray Barretto, who not only fused both styles but created an innovative and appealing sound of Latin music.

This project report is an examination of the techniques, instrumentation, and musicians that Lucca and Barretto used with their bands during the 1960s and 70s. Personal transcriptions of tunes recorded by Lucca and Barretto will be analyzed and compared to earlier versions of these same songs, with the purpose of highlighting the fusion of salsa traditions with jazz harmonies. These transcriptions will then be used to rearrange a traditional Latin tune with contemporary jazz techniques and harmonies.

This book is a collection of seven essays with an introduction by the editor. The contributions propose first-hand studies of some of the less researched aspects of the history of the Italian communes: the practices of conflict, vendetta and pacification. The variety of different ways of resolving conflicts brought to light by the studies for the various civic and rural contexts (Mantua, Parma, Pisa, Lucca, Florence and the Valdinievole), between the beginning of the thirteenth and the mid fourteenth century, indicate how normal such social relations were, the widespread nature of the feud and the legitimisation and centrality of the culture of the vendetta within the political arena of the commune. The book hence offers a precious contribution for a review of the prevalent narration of the vendetta in late mediaeval Italian society.

Es un lugar mágico en donde según la época del año se encuentran diferentes matices con gran biodiversidad, en invierno aparecen innumerables vertientes hídricas que dan paso a riachuelos y majestuosos morichales, en verano el paisaje nos deleita con cielos rojizos que parecen incendiar el horizonte. Cada etapa permite el florecimiento de nuevas especies, insectos, mamíferos, plantas, aves, reptiles y varios anfibios, entre otras, plantas nuevas que alimentan el paisaje llanero, embrujo verde donde el azul del cielo se confunde con tu suelo como reza en el himno del departamento del Meta. El Parque ha permitido la exploración de la naturaleza desde cuatro miradas diferentes: la flora, la fauna, el ser y el paisaje. Miradas que han posibilitado a los autores encontrar en ella una fuente de narrativas gráficas incalculables. Cada rincón, cada espacio permite contar nuevas historias, y a partir de las capturas fotográficas se puede narrar y sugerir escenas incluso fantásticas. Podemos ser seres gigantes como una oruga o tan diminutos como las ceibas. Los invitamos a recorrer estas páginas en las cuales encontrarán fotografías de cuatro miradas diferentes de la naturaleza, caracterizadas cada una desde varias perspectivas y múltiples connotaciones.

INTRODUCCIÓN Y DESCRIPCIÓN DEL CASO Presentamos el caso de un varón de 43 años que acude al servicio de Urgencias del Hospital General por presentar ideación autolítica en contexto de síntomas ansioso-depresivos tras crisis vital (ha dejado el sacerdocio por motivación sentimental y ha comenzado de prácticas de “chemsex” con uso de mefedrona como medio inicial de socialización). Estas ideas aparecen en marco de una lucha interna con modelo previo moral e insatisfacción vital. Como antedecentes de SM, una consulta una semana antes donde acude para deshabituación y manejo de ansiedad en relación al craving. No alergias, enfermedades somáticas o antecedentes de intervenciones quirúrgicas. EXPLORACIÓN PSICOPATOLÓGICA: Consciente, orientado, colaborador y abordable. Lenguaje coherente y organizado. Ánimo bajo con disminución de las capacidades hedónicas e intenso craving. Ideas autolíticas en este contexto sin plan estructurado, pero riesgo de paso al acto con poca contención familiar. No fenómenos de orden psicótico. No alteraciones groseras en sueño o alimentación. Juicio de realidad y capacidades volitivas conservadas. Test de tóxicos positivo a BZD y AD tricíclicos. TRATAMIENTO: Se decide ingreso breve en Unidad de Hospitalización para contención.Se inicia AD, ansiolíticos y oxcarbazepina para manejo de impulsos. EVOLUCIÓN Durante su estancia en la planta (de tres días de duración) se mitigan estas ideas y se trabaja en relación a la autosuficiencia y autodeterminaciones vitales y la confrontación de vida autodestructiva como evasión. Permeable a ello y consciente de necesidad de manejo alternativo. Solicita ayuda específica para deshabituación y restablecimiento de rutina ajustada. JUICIO CLÍNICO: -Ideación autolítica, ya resuelta. -Trastorno adaptativo. -Consumo perjudicial de tóxicos (mefedrona). PLAN TERAPÉUTICO: Se deriva a centro privado de deshabituación y seguimiento posterior en Salud Mental.

Abstract:
Ahora -término volátil y efímero de este contexto-, los espacios discursivos remodelan una gran cartografía de lo cotidiano. La transmisión, -o transferencia- de imágenes a través de plataformas como las redes sociales, propician su ingente abundancia, densidad y (re)producción. Esta propuesta reflexiona entorno a conceptos asociados a dicha sobreexposición, a la transcodificación de la imagen y su condición como archivo de memoria. Como proyecto de gráfica expandida, aborda la condición de la imagen actual, tanto física como digital, tratando el concepto imagen-materia como registro del acontecimiento mediante el transfer y el uso de materiales, portadores de significado, como la cera reciclada o el concreto. Proponemos un discurso en torno al concepto de Transferencia, entendido como una ‘puesta en movimiento’ que implica controlar el exceso de significación o sentido del soporte original al soporte receptor, como una operación de traducción y paso de signos que lucha por la indeterminación del código y que niega el código original. Partimos de la práctica e investigación en la que tiene lugar el viaje procesual condicionante de la imagen, que tal y como describe Anderson va del átomo al bit -de lo analógico a lo digital- y viceversa; donde se produce esta traducción húmeda y transferencia de códigos. Estas prácticas cuestionan el plano dónde reside la imagen contemporánea, en una sociedad sumergida en un conglomerado contenedor visual; en el que constantemente visualizamos cambios de hábitos en las formas de producción, almacenamiento y modos de ver. La captura se transforma ahora en registro del acontecimiento de estas imágenes, o mejor dicho, archivos de memoria. La pulsión comunicativa y la multiplicidad son otros de los factores de esta práctica de desplazamiento. Transferir como un cambio de dimensión, un cambio entre diferentes formatos. Del formato virtual, público e intangible, al endeble, analógico y tangible.
