Abstract:
The dynamic properties of Palladium (Pd) and Aluminum (Al) metals and their alloys are investigated by means of Molecular Dynamics using the Quantum Sutton-Chen force field in five different concentrations. Calculations have been carried out for liquid structures. Although this study is done for liquid structures, basic solid state properties are also investigated to prove the validity of potential parameters. Results are compared with each other and with experimental, theoretical and simulated results. Liquid state transferability of Quantum Sutton-Chen parameters have been investigated and d

Titanium alloys are widely used for aerospace and biomaterial applications since their high specific strength, and high corrosion resistivity. Besides these properties, titanium is an excellent biocompatible material widely used for internal body implants. Because the products have complex geometries in both applications, Additive Manufacturing (AM) methods have been recently applied for production. AM methods can process a direct 3-D shape of the final product, decrease total production time and cost. However, high residual stress of the final product limits the application of AM components,

博士
國立東華大學
物理學系
105
Electrical resistivity, the Seebeck coefficient, thermal conductivity, and specific heat measurements on Ti50Ni50-xFex (x = 2.0 – 10.0 at. %) shape memory alloys (SMAs) were measured to investigate the influence of point defects (Fe) on their characteristics of martensitic transformation. It is found that the Ti50Ni48Fe2 and Ti50Ni47Fe3 SMAs have a two-stage martensitic transformation (B2→R and R→B19), while the Ti50Ni46Fe4, Ti50Ni44.5Fe5.5, and Ti50Ni44Fe6 SMAs display a one-step martensitic transition (B2→R). However, the Ti50Ni42Fe8 and Ti50Ni40Fe10 SMAs exhi

博士
國立清華大學
材料科學工程學系
94
Nanostructured materials are very attractive because of their large surface area and surface energy. By controlling the surface area or surface energy, the properties of nanomaterials can be manipulated. A common surface modification practice is to cover the nanoparticle surface with a layer of surfactant. The surfactant may prevent the particles from agglomeration and grain growth during sintering, and may also increase dispersity as the surface energy changes. Thus, the surface energy and properties of nanomaterials can be changed by this technology.

A high temperature high vacuum rheometer has been designed, fabricated, and tested for the study of the steady shear viscosity for multicomponent bulk metallic glass forming alloys. This rheometer has an operating range up to 1525 K, rotational frequencies of 9.4*10⁻³-3.7*10¹ radians/s, and a calibrated viscosity range of 9.6*10⁻³ and 1.2*10² Pa*s while maintaining absolute pressures pressure < 1*10⁻⁶ mbar. Anomalous behaviors are observed in both cooling and heating cycles in all measured physical properties for the low Ni-rich TiNi alloys (x <= 1.0), corresponding to the transformation between the B19 martensite and B2 austenite phases. The transformation is

A significant thermal hysteresis between warming and cooling was observed in all these alloys which is a manifestation of the first-order nature of martensitic transitions. It was also found that the martensitic transition temperature increases while the observed thermal hysteresis diminishes with increasing Cu c
