Excessive hypertriglyceridemia is an extremely important risk factor for pancreatitis, especially during pregnancy. The results of blood biochemical tests and pancreatic ultrasound studies are analyzed in these patients. These results are compared with data on patients undergoing laparoscopy or laparotomy without setting a drain for local hypothermia. It is concluded that local hypothermia is a rather effective technique and may be used in multimodality treatment for acute destructive pancreatitis.

Abstract:
The aim of the study was to assess the information content of volatile fatty acid parameters for the differential diagnosis of infected and sterile pancreatic necrosis. The work is based on the results of examination and treatment of 34 patients with pancreatic necrosis. The analysis of concentrations of volatile fatty acids: acetic, propionic, butyric and isovaleric was carried out on an automated gas chromatograph «Crystallux-4000» with a capillary column «HP-FFAP» and flame ionization detector. The indicators of acetic, propionic, butyric, isovaleric acid and the sum of volatile fatty acids

Obesity in children is often accompanied by organic and functional changes on the part of the organs of the hepatobiliary system and pancreas. The article describes a clinical case of complicated course of gastrointestinal tract and pancreatic steatosis on the background of morbid obesity in a 15-year-old child with the development of choledocholithiasis, in turn, complicated by acute pancreatitis, pancreonecrosis, peritonitis and perforation of the colon. The tactics of child management, a set of diagnostic methods of examination, methods of surgical treatment are described. The necessity of

The clinical picture of acute pancreatitis (AP) is always accompanied by water-electrolyte imbalance. Therefore infusion-transfusion therapy is the most important element of complex intensive care for AP, which should be performed under strict dynamic control of the volemic status of patients. The paper gives the results of measuring the water sectors by two-frequency bioimpedancometry at the stages of AP treatment. The greatest changes in the intracellular and extracellular sectors are noted in patients with acute destructive infected pancreonecrosis. Circulating blood volume compensation nor

Aberrant pancreas is a result of impaired embryogenesis. The clinical presentation varies and mimics different diseases. The diagnostics complexity makes specialists conduct the patients’ work-up more thoroughly. Chronic recurrent pancreatitis is one of pancreatic cancer risk factors. Tobacco and alcohol consumption significantly increases the risk of developing aberrant pancreas. The article presents a clinical case of a 37-year-old man with a 10-year history of chronic pancreatitis mainly highlighting the diagnostics of aberrant pancreas. In modern pancreatology, diagnostics of acute pancreatitis is one of the most complex and urgent problems. In recent decades, the incidence of acute pancreatitis (AP) has more than doubled and now it exceeds 25% among acute surgical diseases. Pancreonecrosis accounts for about 20–35% of all complications. General and postoperative mortality reaches 15–45%. Modern radiology methods in patients with AP and pancreatic necrosis aid in determination of disease form and its complications. In this article, the importance of radiological methods for treatment planning is reviewed. Close attention is p
