Abstract:
The abdomen is called Pandora’s Box by surgeons, because one is not sure what will come out of it when one opens it. Even well experienced surgeons are constantly amazed at the variety of pathology they have encountered on opening up patients’ abdomen. In spite of so many new investigations at our disposal like ultrasound, CT scan and MRI, the human belly defies them all and reveals its secret only when confronted by a surgeon’s scalpel. We have to deal with the mystery inside the tummy on the operating table! Pandora’s box is an artefact in Greek mythology, Pandoras box was a gift from the Go

Lulu, the heroine of Frank Wedekinds plays, becomes the neurological point in the German cinema of the 1920s marking the shift of moral references in the society connected with the re-evaluation of gender roles. Lulu embodies the conception of a new woman based on sexual equality as the foundation of the renovation of the society and harmonization of the world that emerges at the turn of the XX century. The emergence of AI-generated art has sparked a debate on the ethical considerations and social impacts of this new form of creativity. This paper explores the current approaches to AI (Artificial Intelligence) art generators, including the ongoing debate on AI arts creativity and the issues of copyright, ownership, and fair use. Meanwhile, it systematically examines the standard procedures of AI art generators, including machine learning models such as GANs (Generative Adversarial Networks) and text-to-image models. Contemporary urban landscape is radically and drastically undergoing change. This change is instigated by the impact of globalisation and by the creation of a ubiquitous global frontier-land, increasingly characterised by insecurity and uncertainty. Globalisation entails, among other things, the crowding of a vast number of people from rural areas in urban settings, something that is taking place on a global scale and that is transforming previous towns in the Third as well as the Western World into monstrous megalop

Our problem generalizes both the classic Pandora’s box problem and the prophet inequality framework. Pandora chooses online whether to open each box given its cost, and then chooses irrevocably whether to keep the revealed prize or pass on it. This work considers the relationship between music and silent film focussing particularly on the areas that inform the composition of a new score for the film Pandora’s Box (Pabst, 1929). The paper begins with a consideration of the origins of the narrative and a discussion about the relationships between Wedekind’s originating plays and Pabst’s film. The discourse explores the way in which the new score is informed by the understanding of Pabst’s work as being both modernising and reductive. This thesis presents a literature review and two qualitative research papers that explore the under-researched and under-reported topic of iatrogenesis (unintended harm). There seems no clear theory within Counselling Psychology which encompasses the notion of iatrogenesis. Therefore, this research draws upon relevant theories from other domains. The research in this thesis is underpinned by Merton’s (1936, 1968, 1972, 2016) sociological theory of unintended consequences, which supports a detailed exploration of what happens when two people meet in the social context of the consultation room.

In arguing for (1), I deploy Ernest Sosa’s Swampman case to show that Plantinga’s proper function condition is a necessary condition for warrant. Much discussed and little understood, Richard Nixon's southern strategy demands scrutiny. A brief survey of the literature suggests that study on this controversial topic has reached an impasse. Southern historians keen to emphasise the importance of class in the region's partisan development over the last fifty years insist that any southern strategy predicated on racialised appeals to disaffected white conservatives was doomed to failure. Conversely, conventional accounts of the Nixon era remain wedded to the view that the southern strategy represented a successful devil's bargain whereby an

More significantly, however, we have sought to deconstruct the mythos of contemporary ecocentric philosophy, itself, in order to demonstrate that its ideological underpinnings are not consistently ecocentric in nature.
