Full textLess than one hour's sunshine on our planet contains more energy than the whole world's energy consumption in one year. A common roof for residential dwellings in Sweden receives several times more energy in one year than what its needs are. The potential for solar energy is huge. At the same time the society today uses large amounts of energy and most of the energy comes from non-renewable sources. Sweden does have a high percentage of renewable energy compared to other countries but more than half of the energy we use are non-renewable. The purpose of this report is to obtain a more sustainable society by using solar energy. The goal has been to investigate how solar energy is used in the newly built small houses and how the use of solar energy can increase. Three main issues have been developed in order to achieve the purpose. How is the use of solar energy today? How can solar energy increase in newly constructed homes? How is the use of solar cells in to an international perspective? These questions have been answered in this report using literature reviews and interviews. A review of numerous reports and books on solar energy in the last five years has been done. Data from small houses manufacturers and suppliers have been obtained by interviewing both in personal meetings and by phone. The results show that solar power is a viable solution for the future, but it is used to a small extent today. In Sweden, there are 30,000 single-family homes that have solar panels and less than 900 installations with solar cells. Small houses manufacturers offer almost never any kind of solar energy into their houses and they also says that demand is poor. In order to increase the use of solar energy in small houses, information, government control, and customized solutions are all needs. Marketing, net metering, grants from the state, tougher energy requirements, higher electricity prices, and solutions that are aesthetic, reliable, and practical are also possibilities presented in the report. Internationally, it is a very large increase in the proportion of solar cells. Some countries have reached that electricity from solar cells is lower or the same price as conventional electricity sources. In Denmark, installations of solar cells increased from 11MW to 327MW in 2012. In 2012 it was installed 100,000 MW solar cells worldwide.

Full textThis report considers the possibilities to build a passive house or mini-energy house within reasonable demands on manufacturers and construction firms for one of 3D House’s customers. The client has already been in contact with different manufacturers and construction firms with different demands, but with the same warranty of energy efficient materials. In this study there’s a comparison of these demands and warrants show that, even with the same stated terms of low efficient material, the transmission loss vary considerably. Especially the warrants for airtight constructions vary much.Because of the buildings shape it becomes clear that it would need very high requirement on the products and the work to meet the requirements for passive house. The shape of the house does on the other hand make sure that it's a big difference between the different products which would make it a good idea to look over the different chose. The areas there this report is in first hand how the different companies for walls because of that is an area there it's a big different between different choice and it's a big part of the climate shield. It will also have a look over what kind of windows and doors that exist that meet both the requirements for passive house and the costumer.

Full textGiven the socioeconomic and political transformations that took place in Brazil in the 1920s and in the 1930s and its implications for the field of culture, the proposal of this dissertation is to examine the social conditions of possibility for the emergence of the modern writer and its different functions, assumed in this context. For our study we will take as an object, paradigmatic and singular at the same time, the trajectory of the writer Erico Verissimo who, in addition to features associated with social origin, found in the emergence of the Magazine and the Globo Publishing House a set of propitious conditions leading to the achievement of an intellectual project. This project, however, was not free of political and ethical injunctions in aesthetic stance. For the examination of these points we elected to analyse the novel The rest is silence, because, in addition to synthesize a set of formal procedures and a more decisive ideological definition, it explicits its assumptions by highlighting among the characters a fictional writer, who expresses, the different “parties” taken by the gaucho writer in that historical context. In summary, therefore, the main objectives of this thesis is to draw a sociological portrait of the writer Erico Verissimo, on the one hand, and examine the figuration of the writer in the novel The rest is silence, on the other. Since we observe the absence of social structuring conditions of a relatively autonomous literary field, the examination of these two dimensions, the sociological and the fictional, presupposes the reference to the different political and cultural clashes then happening. Accordingly, the uniqueness of the position of Erico Verissimo relates to the type of social disruption experience with the original social environment on the one hand, and insertion and positioning in the “dispute” within the instance of cultural production of the Globe Publishing House . On the homology of positions (political, literary, ideological, etc.), between the real and the fictional writer, the role of the writer and his different possible missions in the Brazilian culture of the period are illuminated.

Full textMy House My Life Program (MHMLP), on the scale of intervention and the volume of resources employed, has been presented by the federal government as the largest housing program in the history of Brazil. However, a few years after its launch, MHMLP already raised intense debate about its urban, constructive, political, social and economic outcomes. For some researchers, the program is very fragile as a solution to the complex housing problem, presenting as little integrated response to the challenges of cities. Still, critics say MHMLP demonstrates consistent concerns an economic stimulation program than actually to a housing program aimed at overcoming the housing deficit. There would thus be the hegemony of the private sector, making the mere local supporting administrations in this process, working more towards relaxation of controls than effective regulation, showing the discontinuity imposed by the Program on housing policy in the way it had been outlined by of the City Statute and the National Housing Policy. From MHMLP ventures analysis implemented in Porto Alegre and the perception of technical agents involved in the process, this work aims to understand, define and characterize the real role of the municipality in planning and management of this housing program in that city.

In addition, we sought to highlight the vital importance of the study of private space for a better understanding of the daily life of ancient peoples, as well as their personal tastes, and how this reflected in a Greek collective identity, in this particular case.

Lan House, which appeared in Brazil as a place of entertainment, became in a short time, an entrepreneurship fever in the outskirts of large cities. The Brazilian Lan House phenomenon is in part a side effect of a federal government programme called 'computers for all', as part of a political public of digital inclusion. Thus, Lan Houses have featured as key locations for access to the worldwide computer for thousands of Brazilians who had no access to the Internet until the Lan Houses came into existence. They represent the second leading provider of public access to ICT in the country (CETIC, 2010). Due to this, the objective of this study is to describe the trajectory of Lan Houses’implementation, by theoretical perspective of Actor-Network Theory, identifying the relevant actors of a sociotechnical network. In order to analyze this, a single case study explanatory methodology was adopted, based on a Lan House at Jardim Catarina, São Gonçalo ( Rio de Janeiro). The research also presents a heuristic model of digital inclusion to understand if this kind of establishment presents some main facets considered key success factors to promote digital inclusion. The result of this analysis points out that the Lan House is not a digital inclusion agent, despite its relevance to the regions with lower rates of income and, therefore, restricted to the use of computers and Internet, as the Jardim Catarina is.

Full textWith the increase of thermal energy and fuel costs, saving is becoming an important issue for many consumers. More and more people are taking an interest in energy – saving measures in their living quarters. Not only owners of private houses but private flat owners in a multi-storey block of flats when setting up a society/community tend to take concrete action to reduce heat losses. They take an interest not only in posssible financial support but also in technical and information assistance. The energy consumption for heating buildings depends on the specific factors of a given country, the possibilities of acquiring energy resources and its price, the building traditions and environmental requirements. Reducing energy costs for heating residential buildings is an important economical and environmental issue. Modernizing houses improves life quality standards. The aim of modernising a building – to make the building more economically efficient, more comfortable and to prolong its lifecycle also to increase its value. This paper presents data on box construction building defects, their assessment methods, thermal modernizing technology and economic benefits, research methods, the heat and mass exchange processes occurring in building constructions, having assessed their impact on the building. Thesis consist of: 97 p. text, 55 pictures, 11 tables, 43 bibliographical entries, references.

Full textThe literature on the Brazilian First Republic (1891-1930) usually claims that the parliament lacked political power, due to an agreement made between President Campos Sales and state governors that prevented the oppositions from gaining representation in the federal legislature. A well-known thesis in the political historiography links the authoritarian nature of the regime to the effects of that pact, known as politics of governors. This dissertation assesses the supposed passivity of parliamentarians elected from 1900 on, by analyzing the party composition of the national Congress and the legislative behavior of representatives in some crucial issues, based on the study of the Chamber of Deputies. The research hypothesis is rooted on the classic interpretation and assumes that the House did not constitute an important decision-making arena for building consensuses, which were guaranteed beforehand. The results of the analyses reported in this dissertation are counterintuitive and show that the state benches of the eleven legislatures between 1900 and 1930 tended to be single-party, but did not act with unanimity, cohesion and subordination to the recommendations of the government, giving room to obstructions and defeats of the Executive. Definitely, the parliament was not a marginal player in the regime as is frequently claimed, but was rather a forum for negotiations with important consequences for governability.

This dissertation aims to research, in two municipal preschool in Peruíbe-SP, how each pedagogical coordinator performs the continuous education at their school unit, starting from a teacher's education category called "HTPC em Rede" whose formative theme is prescribed by the Education's managing body. The research is based on the Social-Historical-Cultural Activity Theory, based on the works of Vygotsky (1934), Leontiev (1972) and Engeström (1999) and in the perspective of the critical and reflexive education. This study also considers the studies of Imbernón (2009, 2010), Marcelo (1999), Nóvoa (1992) and Tardif (2014) in the faculty's continuous formation in the school background and centered in the unit. Almeida (2009), André (2008, 2009), Liberali (2014) and Placco (2015) regarding the pedagogical coordinator's function in the continuous education carried out in a critical and reflexive way and Freire (2016) with the perspective of a freeing education and dialogicity. The continuous education in use by the coordinator is a social activity, therefore collective, which requires participation and accountability of all the involved, in a collaborative and dialogical web and in the perspective of a critical education. The research assumes the education of in-service teachers as an activity with the potential of transforming crystallized social historical conditions as well as the prescriptive and vertical education, focused on the former's image. With this work I hope to add to the deepening of the reflection towards the teacher's continuous education, notably in the Hours of Collective Pedagogical Work (HTPC), on the perspective that this formative space may become critical and collaborative, taking the demands and context of each school and acting faculty in consideration. Thus, I present in the end of the study a proposal of education that involves all the professionals acting with the teaching education in the Education's Municipal Secretariat of Peruíbe-SP, based on the concept of Creative Chain proposed by Liberali (2010, 2011)
