Abstract:
The present study tried to observe Pakistani masculinity in terms of ‘4Dman’on covers of paparazzi magazines. Galician (2004)highlighted that mostly gendered magazines represent flawless and perfect sort of beauty which is usually missed by normal persons of society. Cashion (2010), under the Bauer Media, mentioned that'4Dman' is a term to represent a confident, physically fit, metro sexual and manly behavior; 4Dman is different from the lad who is a young boy. The content analysis through an inter sectional method of six covers of Pakistani English magazine ‘paparazzi’ revealed that Pakistani men on covers are not sex objects, supportive to the other models, well mannered, well groomed and esteemed, well represented, passionate, young, energetic and intellectual and physically fit. Individuality in male portrayals is more clear rather than to be repressed by others. Pakistani men's dress includes full clothing like qameez shalwar, pants, shirts, sherwani, jackets etc., to affirm Pakistani culture. The pictorial message on all the six covers is to attract and keep the readership, fantasies the imagery and represent the gender in general and particularly Pakistani males as4Dman.

Abstract:
In his essay the author discusses the question of film spectator of the particular movie, namely “La Dolce Vita”, directed by Federico Fellini. Since its premiere in February 1960, the movie has produced a lot of controversies, concerning both the artistic aspects, as well as manners and customs. The author concentrates on the extraordinary position of the spectator inside the film narration. He discusses the question of the intertextual place of the viewer both inside the narration and syuzhet. The viewer in many cases plays a role of authors porte parole. The different roles of protagonists are named: fallen aristocrats, petit bourgeois, artists, intellectuals, foreign celebrity. The one of the most important is the role of paparazzi, coined for the first time in the Fellini’s film. It created the aggressive photographer, the “bandit” of the camera. The variety of the roles, with emphasis of the paparazzi, produce the situation, where Fellini brilliantly makes an illusion of fully controlled narration by the spectator. But it is the artistic illusion, nothing more.

Video games are often thought of as a type of social media, yet social media are not often thought of as a type of video game. Due to the fact that both are media that arguably play a large role in identity formation and perception of reality, this paper argues that social media should be looked at as providing a type of video game experience. While the study is not limited in its scope to teens, they play an important role. This paper explores identity as being social and interactive and also affected by media. The relationship between representation and reality is also explored and applied to the current celebrity culture. Social media and video games are explored through their similarities, including their goals of becoming a hero/celebrity, exemplified in social media through users acting like their own paparazzi. A systematic analysis is conducted to compare research regarding identity and reality in social media and video games since 2005. While similar themes emerged, the way that these themes are studied within video games and social media differ. These gaps in research lead me to four new research area suggestions for social media: mirrors, stereotypes, immersion and definitions. Through these new research areas, I propose five possible future studies.

Abstract:
Although the paparazzi is the poor relation in the history of photography, it is a precious source of inspiration for cinematographic and televisual fictions. Already a character before appearing on screen, the paparazzi establishes a tension, both narrative and visual, that encourages an exploration of its forms of representation. Supported by a collection of films and western television series, from 1940 to 2008, this work will identify and analyze the reoccuring ways in which the paparazzi is represented, from a socio-historical and cultural perspective. Seducer, savior… hunter, thief ? Returning to the imaginary world which surrounds the camera and the hybrid quality of its use allows one to understand how theimage of a « bad » photographer is built. Anonymous croud or main character in the story, half-animal, half-machine, the different faces of the paparazzi on screen both enlighten and threaten the star’s humanity. At a time when the chance of reaching celebrity status are as high as the odds of « acting like a paparazzi », works of fiction reveal a struggle to the deathin which each party fights for a new absolute value : visibility

As citizen journalism platform of PeoPo seems losing popularity, the development of citizen journalism in Taiwan should find itself another way. With the growth of mobile devices, the video sharing websites, like YouTube, increases the variety of live videos. Under such circumstances, are people becoming more like reporters or paparazzis? The study inquires into the relationship between video sharing website and citizen journalism, especially taking live video on YouTube as example. By conducting in-depth interview with 4 live-video uploaders, 2 PeoPo citizen journalists and 2 citizen journalism scholars, supplemented by secondary analysis, we discover the norm to prevent paparazzi disaster and some evidences about citizen journalism. This research proves video sharing website can take citizen journalism to the next level, based on the following four reasons: first, YouTube is a mainstream website with the power of influence. Second, the motivation of live video uploader includes "seeking justice” as well as "self-help ". Third, there is an emergence of internet norms of defending injustice. Finally, video sharing website is a broad definition of citizen journalism. The study shows that web 2.0 really inspires people to have the right to report news. As upcoming the era of web 3.0, the study considers that presentation of citizen journalism is not only just in-depth reporting, but also a photo, a piece of video or a simple narrative all can regard as news.

Abstract:
This paper describes the integration and application of the Paparazzi autopilot into an aircraft system for scientific research on remote sensing. The main purpose of the presented UAV, Stuttgarter Adler, is remote sensing of the environment for fundamental radiometric research as well as applications in agriculture, surveying and mapping. Employing a UAV for the retrieval of remote sensing data of quality comparable to data from manned missions represents a very flexible and inexpensive method of data acquisition. The sensors required for the intended resolution total several kilograms in weight and led to the construction of a matching airplane. All intended missions require a robust and precise control of the aircraft during image acquisition flights, which can only be achieved with an automated pilot assistance system. The Paparazzi system was chosen because its open source approach allowed to adapt the autopilot to the specific mission requirements. Interfaces to the digital remote control and to the camera and spectrometer payloads have been created. Test flights show good results in stabilizing the airplane and controlling the payload.

Abstract:
This paper, was originally prepared for and presented at the 2008 AUVSI Student UAS Competition, it provides the OSAM-UAV (Open-Source Autonomous Multiple Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) team’s design of an unmanned aircraft system for remote target recognition missions. Our OSAM-UAVs are designed to be small in size with strong airframes, and low-cost using open-source in both autopilot hardware and flight control software. A robust EPP-based delta wing airframe is used to prevent damage to the airframe during landing or even crashes. Autonomous navigation is achieved using an open-source Paparazzi autopilot, which gives special attention to safety during operation. Our system has been further enhanced by using the Xbow MNAV Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) in place of the Paparazzi’s standard infrared (IR) sensors, for better georeferencing. An array of light-weight video cameras have been embedded in the airframe, which stream video to the ground control station through wireless transmitters in real-time. The ground control system includes a computer vision system, which processes and geo-references images in real-time for target recognition. Experimental results show the successful autonomous waypoint navigation and real-time image processing.
