Abstract:
Abstract Since 2009, deployment of full-sib families of loblolly pine (Pinus taeda L.) has gained prominence in the southeastern United States. To produce full-sib seed, a pollination bag is used to isolate female strobili from outside pollen contamination, and a known pollen is applied at the time of maximum female strobilus receptivity. The goal of this study was to compare prototype pollination bags made by PBS International to the industry standard kraft paper pollination bag with and without a support wire for female strobili survival and to assess their efficiency for mass production of controlled cross loblolly pine seed. A multiyear study compared 13 pollination bag types at more than nine seed orchard sites across the southeastern United States. There were significant differences among bag types for conelet survival at the time of bag removal that persisted until cone harvest 18 months later. Female strobili bagged in prototype PBS-I2 were over three times more likely to survive to cone harvest than strobili inside the traditional kraft pollination bag. Two of the PBS bag types had the highest estimated filled seed per bag. One PBS bag was faster to install and remove than the kraft paper bag with a support wire.

Abstract:
Industries those work with powder either in production or processing always left a portion of industrial dust in the air. By releasing this air directly in the surrounding environment of the industry pollution occurs. Therefore air filtration system is mandatory in these industries and usually bag filter dust collector controller is used. To control and maintain the proper functionality of the bag filtration system PLC based control system or a modular control board is used. In this paper, a novel dust collector controller is designed which can be installed by any user without having any programming knowledge. The main control keys of the control board are the pulse duration and pulse interval which drive the solenoid valves to release air pressure on the filter bags sequentially. Pulse duration can be controlled in the range of 0.01-0.9 seconds and pulse interval can be varied in the range of 1-99 seconds to control 10 rows of pulse jet simultaneously connected with the solenoid valve. The Number of rows can be adjusted and expanded if required. Moreover, noiseless switching provides silent operational functionalities and switching durability as well as the addition of surge controller ensures a complete protection from any sudden high electrical surge. The finally developed prototype was tested in different industries and provides maximum operational efficiency, which can effectively control online bag filter dust collector to separate micro dust particles from the polluted air.

Abstract:
Polypropylene bags are widely used in many industries especially in agriculture and food industry. However, industries especially in food or fertilizer industries, need to use the polypropylene bags that can withstand a high level of humidity. To overcome this problem, a two-layers bag is required. This two-layers bag consists of outer layer woven bag and inner layer polypropylene bag. Currently they are produced by using conventional method where they are assembled manually by the workers. This manual method causes longer production time process, a high number of workers, and higher cost for mass production. To enhance the operation performance, automated polypropylene bags assembly system is proposed. By using an automated system, it can improve quality and consistency of processes, and reduced direct human labor costs and expenses where the worker is unneeded for assembling the polypropylene bag. To overcome this problem, this project is dedicated to design and develop a new Automated Polypropylene Bag Assembly Machine (APBAM) to operate the process automatically. This machine will execute three main processes - Grasping, Handling and Feeding. This paper will focus on the design of pneumatic actuator for grasping polypropylene bags in upward and downward motion. The design will be calibrated, analyzed and evaluated. The design of automated polypropylene bags assembly system will help to solve some of the problems that have been identified.

Abstract:
Rigid origami is concerned with the folding of rigid thin-walled structures. The materials from which the structures are made are not allowed to deform or bend, but can rotate freely about pre-arranged creases. One of the challenges in rigid origami is the flat folding of a shopping bag with a rectangular base if the bag is made of rigid materials. The problem is not only mathematically interesting but also has practical implications as many consumer goods are packaged in box-shaped cartons or cardboard boxes. In this paper, a new crease pattern has been proposed that allows a tall box-shaped bag with a rectangular base to be rigidly folded flat. Rigid folding conditions are established, and solutions that meet these conditions are found numerically. Simulations and experiments carried out demonstrate that the solution works. The new pattern represents the first practical solution for tall bags and can lead to direct applications in the packaging industry. Moreover, the folding analysis can be used to design an automated packaging process for folding box-shaped stiff cartons.

Abstract:
The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of paper bagging of grape bunches on the morphological, mechanical, and chemical characteristics of berries of three table grapes varieties as an environmentally-friendly technique for protecting clusters from biotic and abiotic agents. Clusters of Italia, Autumn Royal, and Regal Seedless grape cultivars were bagged and compared to a not-bagged control. Air temperature inside and outside the bags was monitored. Bunch weight and length, number of berries per bunch, berry longitudinal and transversal diameter, berry mass, number of seeds per berry (normal in size and aborted), soluble solid content, titratable acidity, and skin color by CIEL*a*b* parameters were determined on four points of each berry. Berries were evaluated using texture analysis, and the main texture profile analysis parameters were compared. The air temperatures around not-bagged clusters were slightly higher than inside the bags. In all the cultivars under evaluation, bagged bunches were heavier compared with not-bagged ones. In Autumn Royal and Regal Seedless, these differences were mainly owing to the higher number of berries and higher berry weight of the bagged bunches. Regarding mechanical properties, in seedless varieties, the bagging treatment increased berry hardness (related to the berry firmness) and decreased berry cohesiveness and resilience, whereas an opposite behavior was found in cv. Italia. Berry skin break force was lower in the bagging treatment in all the analyzed varieties, indicating a softer and easier-to-chew berry skin. The findings demonstrate that the bagging technique affected the three variety parameters to different extents. The main differences were found in the seedless varieties in terms of berry size and bunch characteristics. For all varieties, bagged bunches achieved the quality level required by the market, confirming the suitability of this technique. However, the bag industry is proposing many different bag types (differing in material, shape, color, and closing system); therefore, further studies are needed to obtain more complete and exhaustive technical information.

This paper elaborates a new source of Chinese workplace consent based on participant observation of the Baigou bag industry. Different from other types of Chinese workplace consent that are based on state, gender or citizenship, Baigou’s worker consent comes from a particular factory regime—Familial Household Production—rooted in Chinese rural households. The principle of familialism manifests itself in the labour market, work organisation and reproduction of labour, and it maintains worker loyalty, which is deeper than normal worker consent. Three sub-types of the familial household production regime were distinguished: patriarchal factory regime, paternalistic factory regime and patrimonial factory regime.

Abstract:
With the rapid development of China’s e-commerce and logistics industry, a large number of waste express bags (WEBs) have been produced, which are difficult to recycle. The existing methods of waste express bag disposal often cause severe environmental pollution. It was discovered in this paper that the use of WEBs to modify bitumen could be an environmentally friendly way to recycle WEBs. This study aimed to investigate the feasibility of using WEBs to modify bitumen and promote the performance of WEB-modified bitumen. In order to verify this assumption, a series of basic or rheological experiments were conducted on different dosages of WEB-modified bitumen. The test results and phenomenon showed that the WEBs could be used to modify the binder homogeneously by using a high-speed shearing machine. The basic experiments showed that the WEBs could decrease the penetration and ductility while increasing the softening point and the rotational viscosity. Additionally, the rheological experimental data indicated that the high temperature performance was improved while the low temperature performance stayed the same. The Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) results demonstrated that modification of the WEB was a physical modification without chemical reaction and the main component of the modifier was polyethylene. The fluorescence microscope (FM) data revealed the micro-structures of different dosages of WEB-modified bitumen. In conclusion, WEB can be a feasible binder modifier.

Abstract:
Particle emissions into the atmosphere can cause extensive damage to the environment and human health. To improve the efficiency in the collection of submicronic particles, new filtration media appeared on the market due to new textile technologies and equipment, such as filter media developed with polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) membranes; however, these are more expensive. A filter coating technique called precoating is a more economical alternative that could enhance filtration efficiency. This paper aimed to evaluate the operational parameters of precoating for micro- and nanoparticle filtration and compare the results with those obtained from the PTFE membrane. For this purpose, filtration cycles were performed, using precoated polyester with hydrated lime and dolomitic limestone, polyester with a PTFE membrane, and steel industry ultrafine dust. The results showed that the precoated polyester had a longer cycle duration and lower pressure drop than the polyester with a PTFE membrane. Therefore, precoating was shown to be a great alternative to be used in bag filters in steel mills because it presented high collection efficiency for submicronic particles, in addition to increasing the bag lifespan with less energy expenditure.

Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to explore the microfinance industry to note where it has been, the industry experiences and lessons learned, and the peer into its future. The study adopted a qualitative approach reviewing the extant literature about the subject. The review reveals that the industry evolved from the desire to help poor people access affordable microcredit and transform themselves into economically empowered members of their communities. Consequently, a number of initiatives have been undertaken to develop the industry. This has included targeted legislation and institutional development both globally and in Uganda. The industry experiences indicate that both welfarist and institutionalist objectives of developing the microfinance industry can be pursued with minimal contradiction. However, events pose a mixed bag of results. One the one hand, success stories of microfinance enhancing access to affordable credit, and empowering the poor financially to be more productive, among others, are mentioned. On the other hand, blatant failures at institutional and individual level are noted. Cases of usury, corruption, diversion of funds, confiscation of poor borrowers’ property, a weak credit culture, and politicisation of the industry are noted. Nonetheless, the industry remains promising to the poor given the existing infrastructure. Moving forward, strengthening regulation, increased funding, depoliticisation of the microfinance policy and programmes will refocus the industry to serve better the poor.

Whereas plastics are a group of the most useful materials, widely used in all walks of life, the plastic waste that is produced daily poses a great threat towards wildlife and the planet as a whole. The use of biodegradable plastics is an important step in combating the plastic crisis. FTIR spectroscopy is a non-destructive method used for identifying different types of materials, however interpreting spectra produced by such spectrometers is both susceptible to human error, and time-consuming, not to mention that the industry suffers from a great of specialists, in the field of spectroscopy. Utilising machine learning as a method of filling the mentioned issue is suggested by this paper. Four pipelines were investigated, consisting of two machine learning algorithms, a stacked model that stacks the KNN, SVM and RF algorithms together, and Label spreading, as well as two different dimensionality reduction methods namely; SVD and UMAP. The pipelines studied seemed to show great predictivity at 100% classification accuracy acquired by the SVD-Stacked pipeline when data was sampled using an Agilent Cary 660 FTIR Spectrometer, and 99.18% by the same model when IDIR BP10 spectrometer was employed for sampling instead. The semi-supervised learning model (Label Spreading) seemed to achieve close enough accuracy at 99.82% in the case of the former dataset, and 97.54% for the latter, at a labelling rate of only 10% of the full datasets.

Abstract:
Plastic packaging of food products has a significant impact on the sustainability of the food industry and trade. The article presents selected problems surrounding the production of plastic packaging for food storage and distribution that might cause disruptions in the implementation of sustainable production. An important question regards the extent to which the industry that produces this packaging complies with the sustainability requirements. The present work consists in an investigation of the problems observed in a plastic packaging manufacturing company located in Poland, which is part of a global corporation. Plastic waste management was analyzed and compared with the requirements of a closed loop economy. The quantities of raw material processed and the quantities of waste in the defined period were analyzed. During the analyzed period, 0.05% of the monthly production was non-recyclable waste. The quality of raw material seems to be responsible for the majority of wastes. Therefore, the important role of SAP (Systems Applications and Products) in the use of lower quality batches of raw material is indicated. On the other hand, a possibility of converting the wastes into liquid or gaseous fuels is suggested. In addition, the paper investigates the efficiency of machine use in a film bag production line in a three-shift system. Process losses were analyzed and reliability indicators such as overall equipment efficiency (OEE) and its components, mean time between failures (MTBF), and mean failure repair time (MTTR) were determined. The monthly OEE values for each change individually exceeded 80%.

The textile industry is represented not only by fashion (most popular area) but also textile material for industrial purposes. The very old use of textile materials is production of fabric bags. The deformation of such bag is the subject of computer modeling, what is the contents of the paper. The deformation of the 2D cloth layer, exposed to normal pressure, has the mathematical description in the form of the partial differential equation. The solution depends on the area, on which is searched, and on the boundary conditions. It is known only for planar circular area. The deformation of more complicated shapes (3D) must be found using computer simulations. The problem, discretized by finite element method, has the form of the system of algebraic equations. The description has non-linear character and brings a range of problems. The solution possibilities are described in the paper. Finally the solution of the 3D problem is shown.

Abstract:
The triangle of government, industry and education is one of the cornerstones defining the technology evolution patterns of society (and more). Within that triangle, innumerable interactions with continuous feedback processes create an overall picture that is frequently too complicated to paint in a single dimension. One problem addressed from time to time is that of how closely aligned the objectives of industry and engineering education should be. The short-term benefits of having industry dictate engineering education objectives can easily be observed. Long-term issues and results are more difficult to anticipate, but should be given equal consideration. This paper examines some of the trends and needs in view of new interaction tools that have become available over the past two decades. A case study of recent changes at California Polytechnic State University – the flagship of the California State University system – exemplifies the status quo for California on this topic. Overall, the authors take a dim view of the current situation. The intention is to provide a sceptical review of ‘what can go wrong’ – a question that some engineers cannot remove from their minds. Major reflection points include the effort to fit more into a smaller (unit and time) bag; the messages that academics are receiving about success and failure; the fluctuations in student demand; and, last but not least, the overall ‘educational’ experience of the students.

Real-time processing for images is increasingly used in automotive industry. Video signals are nowadays used for different applications on traffic, such as measuring average speed, monitoring traffic congestion, detect red light crossing, but also for sign recognition, lane assist etc. The paper proposes an embedded system for image processing used for controlling climatization in cars. This system is also useful in case of an accident to activate the airbag if a person is on the seat or not to do it if a heavier object is placed on the seat, for example a bag. For this aim, a Raspberry Pi3 based system is proposed for real-time detecting of the number of passengers existing in a vehicle. The Raspberry Pi3 is used for acquiring frames from a video camera connected via USB interface and for on-line processing of images. The system uses an Haar cascade classifier algorithm (HCCA) for human face detection.

Abstract:
Most of combustible dusts present both fire and explosion hazard. Explosion may occur at certain concentrations of dust mixed with air and in the presence of an ignition source. The threat posed by this real danger was confirmed by the events that took place in economic units such as: feed factories, wood products, textile industry, steel, etc. Among the parameters of explosiveness of combustible dust, which can cause an explosion, we mention: maximum explosion pressure, lower explosion limit, explosive index, minimum ignition energy, electrical resistivity of dust, minimum ignition temperature of dust layer and cloud, particle size and concentration of dust in suspension. The current paper presents the results of determinations of combustible wood dust concentrations, performed at an important economic unit, manufacturing veneer and wood panels, at a dusting ventilation installation composed of fan, cyclone and textile filter. These determinations were made in the pipe connecting the fan and the bag filter, to assess possible danger of explosion in the pipe, by relating the measured concentration to the lower explosion limit (concentration of wood dust).

Abstract:
The movie industry has grown into a several billion-dollar enterprise, and there is now a ton of information online about it. Numerous machine learning techniques have been created by academics and can produce effective classification models. In this study, different machine learning classification techniques are applied to our own movie dataset for multiclass classification. This paper's main objective is to compare the effectiveness of various machine learning techniques. This study examined five methods: Multinomial Logistic Regression (MLR), Support Vector Machine (SVM), Bagging (BAG), Naive Bayes (NBS) and K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN), while noise was removed using All K-Edited Nearest Neighbors (AENN). These techniques all utilize previous IMDb dataset to predict a movie's net profit value. The algorithms predict the profit at the box office for each of these five techniques. Based on the dataset used in this paper, which consists of 5043 rows and 14 columns of movies, this study evaluates the performance of all seven machine learning techniques. Bagging outperformed other machine learning techniques with a 99.56% accuracy rate.

Abstract:
This article presents a proposed recycling model in Namibia as a way of enhancing solid waste recycling. Scrap metal, plastic, paper, glass, electronic waste, and aluminium cans are recycled materials in Namibia. Face to face interviews, document evidence and site observations were used to qualitatively establish an understanding of recycling practices in the country. Despite its potential, a national study on solid waste recycling as an emerging industry in Namibia conducted in 2019 concluded that recycling of solid waste in the country was low and limited to major cities of Windhoek, Swakopmund and Walvis Bay. Efforts such as Clear Bag System, Schools Recycling Competitions and Awareness Campaigns were ongoing at the time of study to promote more recycling. Recycling was found to be plagued with a number of challenges, thus struggling to achieve intended goals of raw material production as well as addressing waste management problems that the country faced. Behind this backdrop, a proposed Integrated Recycling Model for Namibia was developed which would assist, if implemented, with the resolution of some of the challenges that were identified.

Abstract:
After hundreds of years of changes, due to the development of chemistry, the development of human life has undergone tremendous changes. People have used chemical science to manufacture many supplies, such as various medicines and various types of cosmetics. In recent decades, electronic components and computer software technology have developed rapidly, and the fourth round of technological revolution is underway, which has a favorable impact on the development of various industries. Traditional paper-cut and cosmetic bag design methods should also take into account the advantages of wireless communication and artificial intelligence technology and combine other types of traditional industries to carry out technological reforms to help traditional craftsmanship pass down. In modern life, due to the vigorous promotion of cosmetics, there are more and more cosmetics on the market, and the traditional paper-cut art itself is an artistic design method similar to cosmetic design. Both industries will grow rapidly after the use of artificial intelligence and wireless communication technology for the update of both industries. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to combine wireless communication technology with artificial intelligence technology to transform the traditional paper-cut art and cosmetic packaging design. After consulting the reasons for the decline of the traditional handicraft industry and the reasons for the turmoil caused by modern technology, this paper conducts a combined design of artificial intelligence technology, wireless communication technology, and cosmetic packaging and then performs wireless communication and artificial intelligence on the cutting of traditional paper design elements. The design of the technical matching system is also designed for traditional paper-cut art and cosmetic packaging. And find professional practitioners for research and discussion and multiple transformations and obtain experimental analysis results data. After many experiments, it can be seen that the combination of wireless communication and artificial intelligence technology can transform the traditional paper-cut art and cosmetic packaging design, improve their relevance, continue the inheritance of paper-cut art, and possibly improve the efficacy of cosmetics.

Abstract:
Over the past decade, Vietnam's shrimp industry has made great progress and brings Vietnam into the rank of the world's largest shrimp exporters. The development trend of the shrimp industry in the world as well as in Vietnam today is in the direction of intensive and super-intensive farming, technology innovation to enhance productivity and quality. However, the shrimp farming industry in Vietnam is facing many difficulties; one of them is the problem of environmental pollution, raising the negative impact on the economic effectiveness of farming. Causes are mainly due to excess food and untreated shrimp waste accumulated on the pond bottom surface and disintegrated to reduce dissolved oxygen concentration, release toxic gases such as NH3, H2S and create a favorable environment for harmful microorganisms to develop. Therefore, it is necessary to have a countermeasure to thoroughly remove waste from the farming environment. This paper introduces a general design of a waste remover, which is needed for shrimp farming ponds to remove waste and solve the mentioned problem. This equipment moves on the bottom surface of the pond and can be autonomous or manually remote controlled. During the working process, the equipment brushes waste on the bottom surface of the pond and suck it into the filter bag. The waste remover includes such following main units: traveling unit, brushing unit, sucking unit, frame unit, transmission, and control systems. The equipment uses the principle of axial pumping, sucks waste along the water stream by reducing the pressure inside the equipment, and transfers waste into filter bags. This general design basically meets the requirement of waste removal and can be fundamental for designing the detailed units, manufacturing, and experiment implementation of equipment in the future.

Abstract:
Effective modeling of electronic health records (EHR) is rapidly becoming an important topic in both academia and industry. A recent study showed that using the graphical structure underlying EHR data (e.g. relationship between diagnoses and treatments) improves the performance of prediction tasks such as heart failure prediction. However, EHR data do not always contain complete structure information. Moreover, when it comes to claims data, structure information is completely unavailable to begin with. Under such circumstances, can we still do better than just treating EHR data as a flat-structured bag-of-features? In this paper, we study the possibility of jointly learning the hidden structure of EHR while performing supervised prediction tasks on EHR data. Specifically, we discuss that Transformer is a suitable basis model to learn the hidden EHR structure, and propose Graph Convolutional Transformer, which uses data statistics to guide the structure learning process. The proposed model consistently outperformed previous approaches empirically, on both synthetic data and publicly available EHR data, for various prediction tasks such as graph reconstruction and readmission prediction, indicating that it can serve as an effective general-purpose representation learning algorithm for EHR data.

Abstract:
Instant noodles have become a very common food in recent years, and because of its convenience and affordability, it is now one of the most profitable products in the food industry. While it is a very convenient food product to carry around, its packaging tends to be inconvenient and not eco-friendly. The packaging of instant noodles can be categorized into two different types: The first is small, and very light, packed in plastic bags, requiring that customers supply their own bowl in order to enjoy the food; the other is packed in a paper, or Styrofoam bowl, usually with additional space in the bowl for customers to add water. The dimensions of the bowl make it less portable, and the construction materials are not eco-friendly. We build a model design that combines the benefits of each packaging type (Fig.2). The size remains as small as the plastic bag type, while simultaneously having the expandable space of the bowl type. The proposed model is made compact during shipping, but its foldable design allows the customer to readily reconstruct it into a bowl for use. Using recycled paper and PE film for materials, we have ensured that, with the use of special recycling technology, the packaging is 100% recyclable. The result is an eco-friendly, light, and purposeful design.

Abstract:
In recent years, ultrasonic pretreatment technology has been widely used in the aquatic product preservation industry. Among these technologies, dual-frequency ultrasonic refrigeration is the most common. However, in practical applications, selecting the frequency is relatively simple, and there has been less research on power selection. In this paper, the specific frequency (up and down 20 kHz, around 40 kHz), using different powers of (a) 200 W, (b) 300 W, and (c) 400 W processing, ultrasonic intermittent mode with 30 s on/30 s off cycle, and an ultrasonic processing time of 10 min was examined; the control group (CK) comprised samples without ultrasonic treatment. The samples were stored at 4 °C and then placed in a Polyethylene (PE) bag. The changes in microbiological parameters, physicochemical indices, and protein indices of the samples were monitored every two days. The results show that 400 W ultrasonic treatment can significantly inhibit the growth of TVC during storage. The rate of increase in pH, TVB−N, and TBA values decreased significantly compared with the other groups. Compared with the CK group, the shelf life of the 400 W treatment group was extended by 6 days. Therefore, the 400 W pretreatment method based on orthogonal double frequency has strong application potential for effectively extending the shelf life of refrigerated large yellow croaker.

Abstract:
Purpose The authorship authentication (AA) problem is concerned with correctly attributing a text document to its corresponding author. Historically, this problem has been the focus of various studies focusing on the intuitive idea that each author has a unique style that can be captured using stylometric features (SF). Another approach to this problem, known as the bag-of-words (BOW) approach, uses keywords occurrences/frequencies in each document to identify its author. Unlike the first one, this approach is more language-independent. This paper aims to study and compare both approaches focusing on the Arabic language which is still largely understudied despite its importance. Design/methodology/approach Being a supervised learning problem, the authors start by collecting a very large data set of Arabic documents to be used for training and testing purposes. For the SF approach, they compute hundreds of SF, whereas, for the BOW approach, the popular term frequency-inverse document frequency technique is used. Both approaches are compared under various settings. Findings The results show that the SF approach, which is much cheaper to train, can generate more accurate results under most settings. Practical implications Numerous advantages of efficiently solving the AA problem are obtained in different fields of academia as well as the industry including literature, security, forensics, electronic markets and trading, etc. Another practical implication of this work is the public release of its sources. Specifically, some of the SF can be very useful for other problems such as sentiment analysis. Originality/value This is the first study of its kind to compare the SF and BOW approaches for authorship analysis of Arabic articles. Moreover, many of the computed SF are novel, while other features are inspired by the literature. As SF are language-dependent and most existing papers focus on English, extra effort must be invested to adapt such features to Arabic text.

Abstract:
One of the essential features of the unified European market is the free movement of many industrial products, thanks to the harmonisation of the laws of the European Union countries. The rigour of safety regulations has led to a constant increase in the supply and volume of personal protective equipment. The EU legislation defines “essential requirements” for personal protective equipment but does not do the same for technical specifications. From this point of view, products can be divided into non-regulated and regulated products. Protective products and toys are manufactured in the regulated sector in the textile sector and require formal certification under European Community directives. Products intended for military use (in the regulated area) are subject to special, sometimes top-secret rules. Fashionable clothing belongs to the non-regulated area and does not require formal certification. The protective equipment must ensure compliance with EU regulations, such as absolute individual protection against specific risks; durable protective functions; psychological comfort while wearing it; ease of maintenance. The production of textile garments in the regulated sector requires flawless execution with the help of qualified personnel, who have created the physical conditions for the optimal execution of the operations to achieve a constant level of quality. A factor that determines the constant quality level is efficient production management. Production management in the textile industry refers to structuring processes, setting time rules and ensuring efficient working conditions for the people performing the work (rational design of the workplace makes it possible to achieve greater efficiency and meet occupational safety requirements). Once the requirements are clearly defined from the customer’s point of view, their translation into technical measures is a task for the manufacturing company. With this in mind, the main objective of this paper is to provide an example of streamlining the management of production to facilitate the manufacturing process of a product in a regulated sector that is compliant with European regulations. The case study has been carried out for the manufacturing process of a pistol bag.

Abstract:
Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense Tropical Race 4 (Foc TR4) (Syn. Fusarium odoratissimum) is a devastating soil-borne pathogen that infects the roots of banana plants and causes Fusarium wilt disease. Colombia is one of the world’s leading banana producers; therefore, new uncontrolled outbreaks could have serious consequences. Despite this, little is known about the susceptibility of Musaceae lands in Colombia to Foc TR4. This work presents a pioneering study on the susceptibility of Colombian soils to Foc TR4. For this, a study was carried out to characterize climatic, edaphic, and density factors of Musaceae productive systems at the Colombian level, articulated with expert criteria to map and define areas with different levels of susceptibility to Foc R4T. These criteria are typically selected based on the existing scientific literature, consultation with domain experts, and consideration of established methods for assessing soil health and disease susceptibility in Musaceae plantations. By joining the analyzed susceptibility factors, differentiated areas were generated that imply a greater or lesser predisposition to the disease. Subsequently, a validation of the classification was made with Random Forest. The results indicate that at the level of climate, soil, and farm density as a fit factor, practically 50% of the cultivated territory of Musaceae are areas high and very highly susceptible to the pathogen (572,000 km2). The results showed that from the total Musaceae area, Antioquia, Bolívar, Chocó, and Santander turned out to be the departments with the highest proportion of very high susceptibility class of the production farms. The analysis of Random Forest classification performance shows that the model has a relatively low out-of-bag (OOB) error rate (0.023). The study on the susceptibility is highly novel and original, as it represents the first systematic investigation of Foc TR4 susceptibility in Colombian soils. This paper provides important insights into the susceptibility of Musaceae lands in Colombia to Foc TR4. The study highlights the need for ongoing monitoring, containment, and control measures to prevent the spread of this deadly pathogen and protect Colombia’s important banana industry.

Abstract:
Microfinance is a growing industry that caters to various forms of financing for the financially underprivileged segment of any society. The microfinance industry aims to provide financial assistance to the poor, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), micro-entrepreneurs, and other financially marginalized segments. Although the microfinance industry continues to assist numerous people, its traditional mechanism of financing, interest-based deposits and interest-bearing loans (riba), is not permissible according to the Muslim belief. As an alternative, Islamic Microfinance was established to cater to the Muslim community. Islamic microfinance is increasingly becoming an effective mechanism to tackle poverty, inequality and provide financing to micro-entrepreneurs and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Muslim countries. However, for the integrity and credibility of the Islamic microfinance industry there is a need for good governance and regulations. Governance and regulation are still a major concern for both microfinance and Islamic microfinance. An added aspect of governance that is peculiar to the Islamic microfinance is Shariah governance. This paper will examine the possible means to establish Shariah governance for the Islamic microfinance industry. The paper is conceptual in nature and is based on literature review to support the theory of the research. Keywords: Shariah Governance, Islamic Microfinance, Regulation.

Abstract:
AbstractThe study was conducted to determine the potential of discarded plastic banner of the advertising industry in Kemman, Terengganu. Three types of advertising industry involved in this study. This includes advertising industry, represented by Orchid Design and Printing Sdn. Bhd; plastic recycling industry represented by RD Paper Sdn. Bhd and statutory bodies of the Treasury Council Kemaman (MPK). Disposal and public burning of plastic waste practiced by most banner advertising industry contributes to wastage and environmental pollution. In the effort to control this, a detailed study on the potential use of plastic banner as an alternative in producing creative products have been conducted. The study of plastic banner focuses on two issues. First is the study of the types of plastic banner. This involves two processes: one is to separate the color and type of plastic banner; and second is to measure the length, width and weight of plastic banner. The second study focuses on the process of production through combustion. This study finds that the using of the waste from plastic banner as an alternative to produce creative products is a viable approach for adding values to the waste and preventing environmental pollution. Therefore, the production of creative products resulting from this research can provide income and also diversify the plastic banner products existing in the commercial markets.

Abstract:
During a pandemic, all industries suffer greatly, and every sector of the world suffers in some way, including the education sector. Internet expressions reflect users' feelings about a product or service. The polarity of information in source data toward a subject under investigation is determined by sentiment analysis processes. The goal of this study is to examine social media expressions about online teaching and learning, as online education will become a part of everyday life in the future. We collected data from Twitter using keywords related to online education and Google form from engineering undergraduate students for prototype implementation. This analysis will assist teachers, parents, and the student community in understanding the benefits and drawbacks of the education industry, allowing for further improvement in educational outcomes. We used aspect-based sentiment analysis and topic modeling to determine sentiment polarity and important topics for education sector stakeholders. To begin, we used TextBlob Python package to determine sentiment polarity, and Bag of Words, LDA and LSA model for discovering topics. After modeling topics from the collected data, topic Coherence is used to assess the degree of semantic similarity between high scoring words in the topic. The word cloud and LDAvis are used to visualize data. The experimental results are promising and it will assist education stakeholders in addressing the concerns that have been identified as social media expressions to work on. Since the boom in science and technology, humans have been trying to invent machines that could reduce their efforts in day to day activities. In this paper, we develop a personal assistant robot that could pick up objects and return it to the user. The robot is controlled using an android application in mobile phones. The robot can listen to user’s command and then respond in the best way possible. The user can command the robot to move to given location, capture images and pick objects. The robot is equipped with ultrasonic sensor and web camera that helps it to move to different location effectively. It is also equipped with sleds that play important role in object picking process. The robot uses a tiny YOLOv3 model which is rigorously trained on several images of the object. There are some possible improvements that can be achieved which could help this robot to be used in several other fields as well.

Abstract:
Purpose – Over the past few years online fashion communities have proliferated becoming an increasingly powerful forum for user-generated content, and consequently, the fashion industry has shown great interest in such communities. The purpose of this paper is to review and analyse brand advocacy behaviour within luxury brand accessory forums: to analyse the role these communities play in influencing purchase intention; assessing their contribution to fashion brand love. Design/methodology/approach – The study adopted a netnographic approach to the phenomenon of online luxury accessory communities. The research reports observational data including blog texts and audience comments for four popular forums: The Purse Forum, The Fashion Spot, The Bag Forum (TBF) and Shoe Forum (SF). Although the forums are open to all and are designed to be internationally relevant; the observations were conducted from a base in the UK. Findings – Findings indicate that informants display some unifying characteristics clustered around engagement, involvement, self-concept and self-connection, brand love and hedonic values. Informants however, display some discernible differences as they “rally” to two distinctive totems: first, active luxury brand advocates and second, passive brand advocates. Although subtle, these differences suggest significant possibilities for fashion brand owners. Research limitations/implications – Further research could include the measurement of brand advocacy to distinguish more clearly between high and low levels of advocacy and the resulting consumer behaviour intentions. One sub-group that would be interesting to explore is that of brand evangelists and their relationship with fashion brands: what are the reasons for treating brands as religious artefacts and can this extreme level of advocacy be developed by marketing? The study focused on observing online posts by self-selected brand advocates. A worthwhile comparison could be made with fashion communities where brand marketers are active participants and how this influences the discourse and actions of brand advocates. Practical implications – The findings indicate that all forum members are incredibly attached to their brands, but will still consider purchasing several brands as their “evoked set”. Additionally, even when demonstrating involvement, they can operate as passive observers in the online community. Originality/value – Social media, especially online forums, play an important role in contemporary luxury fashion branding. This study addresses the role these forums play in supporting brand love and the contribution they make to luxury brand advocacy. Membership and influence dynamics are reported; which have resonance to both practitioners and researchers.

Abstract:
This paper examines the degree to which political connections affect business rankings through a statistical analysis of Turkey's industry rankings between 2003 and 2011. The analysis demonstrates that business performance is associated with connectedness through industry and firm level data. We show that political connectedness varies according to the firm's channel of access to obtain favouritism either through direct personal ties or institutional networks. Ideological motivations emerge to be significant in mobilizing, shaping and tying firm behaviour to broader political agendas. In the conclusion we discuss the impact of deepening connectedness on long-term business fortunes and political institutions.

Abstract:
AbstractThis paper examines the determinants of financial industry actors’ regulatory preferences—examining why some financial industry actors prefer less stringent financial regulations while others prefer more stringent regulations. The determination of preferences, we argue, can be understood as mutually dependent. How an organization is connected to other organisations through network ties may help to explain its regulatory preferences. Our empirical point of focus is financial industry lobbying in the context of the European Union (EU). Using data from nearly nine hundred lobbying letters related to legislation on banking, insurance, and securities regulation, we map out a “socialization network” that models connections between financial industry firms, their associations, as well as a broad range of other organisations and actors that are auxiliary to this community of organizations. Using these data we find evidence that organizations’ preferences are informed by their location within this socialization network. Controlling for a range of other plausible factors, we find that 1) those connected via common associational ties, 2) those closer to one another in the network and 3) those more “embedded” in this network are all less likely to diverge in terms of their preferences from one another.
