Abstract:
Pareto biographical and intellectual experience offers a privileged point of view on First World War. His life work, Treatise on General Sociology, was published in 1916 by Barbera Publisher in Florence. It is through the conceptual tools contained in this work that he deciphers the ongoing conflict. His interpretative method is based on the distinction between residues and derivations. The firsts are the real motifs that determinate actions, the seconds are false explanations men create to justify their behaviour. War is a conflict between residues and more specifically between two residues: the persistence of aggregates – a conservative residue, politically represented by Germans and Central Powers – and the instinct for combinations – typical of innovators, represented by the Allies. Post war disorder cannot last and be tolerated by any stable social system. Pareto in a first moment is sceptical toward Fascism but he was fascinated by Mussolini’s personality later, when he recognises him as the only man capable to re-establish social order in a country out of control. Pareto’s support to Fascism is ultimately a support to a realistic principle able to use Machiavelli methods to beat all fractions that without a political synthesis can threat the social life of a country.

Abstract:
The history of human society is the history of change and there are many different theories which look at change and development. This paper intends to investigate the history of the Great Seljuk Empire (1037-1194 CE), the events that led to its rise and decline in light of the cyclical theory, especially those propounded by two sociologists: Ibn Khaldūn and Vilfredo Pareto. The former is a medieval thinker while the latter a contemporary. In doing so, the paper aims to make a comparison between Ibn Khaldūn and Vilfredo Pareto. The principles of thematic content analysis are followed on the translated works of the authors to achieve the objective. The rise of the Seljuks is understood with the concept of ‘aṣabīyah in the nomadic pastoral society (‘umrān badawī) and its disappearance in the sedentary society (‘umrān ḥaḍarī). Similarly, the struggle of power within the Seljuk Empire is deconstructed with the understanding of the concepts of ‘lions’ and ‘foxes’ as propounded by Vilfredo Pareto in his explanation on the circulation of elites.

Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:
Kde ekonom analyzuje a snaží se aplikovat vzájemné působení výchozích a konečných bodů krátkodobých a dlouhodobých časových intervalů v ekonomickém aspektu pomocí příkladů a alegorie. Pomocí druhého díla Některé fenomény ekonomické dynamiky Maffeo Pantaleoni pokračuje ve studiu ekonomů neoklasiků, kteří přesně definovali pojem statiky, a uvádí a vysvětluje dynamiku druhého druhu.

Abstract: Although the phenomenon of minority officers has been treated by different authors, was in Italy at the end of the century. XIX, by Gaetano Mosca (1858-1941) and Vilfredo Pareto (1848-1923), who found systematic enough to achieve status of political theory. Antonio Gramsci (1891-1937), in Quaderni del Carcere establishes important dialogue with the theory of elites, expressing confluences and differences. In common with the authors has the elitist tradition of Machiavellian political studies, ie, the Machiavellian realism, which is responsible for some remarkable continuities and thematic affinities in the formulations of general political concepts between these authors. However, there is a discussion of the theory underlying the elites, who, though less apparent, so it is not less important - debate about the possibility of formulating a science of political realities. Through this debate Machiavellian realism acquires different features. Pareto claims science fictional ideals of freedom, based on empirical observation and history, which leads him to understand the division between rulers and ruled as an immutable reality, corresponding to the divisions of mankind. Gramsci, on the other hand, proposes the development of a science of politics can grasp the historical occurrences in their complexity comprising the "reality" as a phenomenon/appearance of the processes generated within the dialectical movement between structure and superstructure. This leads him to understand the problem of elites by a historical-political bias. With this, Gramsci contributes to an enrichment of Machiavellian realism. This discussion about the possibility and nature of political science, important methodological issues and policy are brought to light and are important, we believe, not only for discussions of political science in the first half of the twentieth century, but also raise contemporary issues and conflicts within science policy issues that remain fundamental to improving the theoretical and methodological tools of the discipline

Nzitat, Henri Patrice. "Contribution a l'analyse de l'utilitarisme axiomatique d'harsanyi." Caen, 2000. http://www.theses.fr/2000CAEN0592.

Full text
Abstract:

Abstract:
This diploma thesis deals with the employment of the Pareto principle in increasing the efficiency of the product range in a selected grocery outlet of the Brněnka chain. A methodology for the evalution of the offered product range has been created based on general knowledge and practical usage of the Pareto principle in scientific work. The methodology is applied on sale records of a selected store. The work includes suggestions of product range alteration based on application of the formed methodology.
