This thesis topic is focused on the experience of entering and revealing architecture. An entrance is not solely about the physical form of a door, rather it is the beginning of a building; a conversation between public and private, light and dark, safety and danger. The entrance is also a threshold for smell, texture, sound, light, and color. It is the preface of a poem that will lead you to fall in love with the rhythm of the building. It is where beauty begins and never ends.<br>Master of Architecture

Abstract:
Vicksburg National Military Park (VICK) was established for its historical significance as a one of the principle military sieges resulting in a turning point during the American Civil War. The steep terrain around the city of Vicksburg was integral in the military siege, providing high vantage points and a substrate that was easy to entrench for the armies, but unknown to many is the fossil content, particularly a diversity of fossil mollusks. These fossils at VICK are important paleontological resources which have yet to receive focused attention from park staff, visitors, and researchers. T

Abstract:
Parks within the Southeast Coast Network (SECN) host a diverse assemblage of plants and terrestrial vegetation communities. Vegetation communities are dynamic entities whose species composition, abundance, distribution, and structure are influenced by environmental factors and impacted over time by natural and anthropogenic disturbances. Determining trends in vegetation communities over time and identifying plant stressors is vital to understanding the ecological health of terrestrial ecosystems within SECN parks. Canaveral National Seashore lies within the Southern Coastal Plain ecoregion of

Abstract:
Invasive exotic plant (IEP) species are one of the biggest threats to natural ecosystem integrity and biodiversity, and controlling them is a high priority for the National Park Service. The Northern Colorado Plateau Network (NCPN) selected the early detection of IEPs as one of 11 monitoring protocols to be implemented as part of its long-term monitoring program. This report represents work completed during the 2021 field season at Fossil Butte National Monument (NM). From June 26 to 29, 2021, we recorded a total of 12 different priority IEP species during monitoring. A total of 763 priority I

The Clifton 7.5' quadrangle is in western Tooele County about 40 miles (65 km) south of Wendover, Utah. The northeast part of the quadrangle includes the Clifton Hills and the southwest part includes the northern Deep Creek Range/Mountains. These uplands are separated by Overland Canyon and Clifton Flat (figure 1, plate 1). The quadrangle is in the Basin and Range physiographic province between the Great Salt Lake Desert to the east and Deep Creek Valley to the west. Terrain and vegetation are typical of the Basin and Range province and include rugged mountains separated by adjoining basins. N
