Abstract:
Albinism in birds is a unique phenomenon therefore it has been recorded in several species by various others (Avizanda et al 2010, Dudgeon, 1904; Gurusami, 1992; Inglis,1903; Javed, 1992; Mahabal, 1993; Prasad, 2000; Pande et al2005; Pawashe et al 2006; and Sathiyaselvam, 2003;Gupte 1969;Sharma 2003). According to geneticists Hutt and Mueller in 1941, defined four major degrees of albinism, 1). Total albinism: the rarest form, in which all the morphology of birds white with pink eyes, 2). Incomplete albinism: in this condition melanin pigment completely absent from (birds) feathers, skin, or e

Abstract:
We report two bird species with pigment anomalies, which were seen in Cali, Colombia in 2020. The individuals were, a female Shiny Cowbird (Molothrus bonariensis) with partial leucism, a female Ruddy Ground-Dove (Columbia talpacoti) with partial leucism and a young nestling of the same species, with albinism. The records reported here are the first of partial leucism and albinism for Columbia talpacoti and partial leucism for Molothrus bonariensis in Colombia.

Abstract:
Albinism is a clinically and genetically heterogeneous group of hereditary diseases whose pathogenesis is mediated by impaired synthesis of melanin which results in its partial or total loss. Reduced melatonin level clinically manifests as skin, hair, and ocular hypopigmentation. Ocular presentations include hypopigmentation/lack of pigmentation of eye fundus and iris, foveal hypoplasia, low vision, nystagmus and strabismus, photophobia, iris transillumination, and asymmetrical decussation of nerve fibers at the optic chiasm. However, albinism can be a part of more complex genetic syndromes, e

Abstract:
Two cases of albinism in roe deer were reported in the Lublin region in the spring of 2017. Both animals were females. One of them was a mature female roe deer with partial albinism. The other was a young roe deer (kid) born in the previous hunting season, which was a true albino, most probably descended from a female roe deer with pseudo-leukoderma. Since the eyes of these animals could not be examined, it was impossible to conclude about their leucism. No male roe deer in a group of 14 animals showed phenotypic features of albinism. This confirms that albinism in roe deer occurs very rarely,

Abstract:
Skin may show a partial loss (hypopigmentation or hypomelanosis) or a complete loss of skin pigmentation that may be acquired or rarely, inherited. The loss may be localized or generalized. This chapter discusses the clinical manifestations of common causes of decreased skin colour in childhood with brief helpful summaries, diagnostic lists, and clinical images. Postinflammatory depigmentation commonly follows many dermatoses such as eczema, psoriasis, and pityriasis alba. Infectious causes include pityriasis versicolor, a yeast overgrowth on the skin, and leprosy, a rare tropical disease. Vitiligo, an autoimmune condition targeting melanocytes, the skin’s pigment producing cells, can cause partial or complete loss of pigmentation. Tuberous sclerosus complex is the commonest of the inherited genetic causes with depigmented patches forming part of the diagnostic criteria. The very rare forms of oculocutaneous albinism are mentioned briefly.

According to historical records, Cubulteria or Compulteria was an ancient town of Samnite and later Roman foundation located along the Volturno River. Most historians believe it corresponds to the present- day towns of Dragoni and Alvignano in the province of Caserta in Campania. The name of the town is recorded in a commemorative plaque dedicated to di Marcus Aulus Albinus procurator at the cohort of the Breuci From the latter, according to some etymological hypotheses, the toponym Albinianum could derive, from which the present name of Alvignano would later evolve.Alvignano Castle, built isol
