Full textFrom research carried out within business circles and business quarters in douala, we have tried to portray the different characteristics that constitute the originality of business life in cameroon from their three major essential elements namely : - business circles, from men, women, and different public or private interest groups that constitute it. - the different economic and juridical structures to which their different investments finally end up. And their integration within the local urban area. - finally, the socio-economic environment within which this business life takes place and its consequences on the economic behaviour of certain catagories of businessmen

Full textSince the end of the seventeenth and the beginning of the eighteenth century, french business circles, with a trading network present in all spain, exercise over the economy of this country a real domination. Charles III and Charles IV "enlightened" ministers attempts to put an end to it will hardly succeed as the importance of francois cabarrus and julien ouvrard activities demonstrate

Full textThis research study focuses upon the interactional participation of a child with high functioning autism at an age where he is receiving early intensive behavioural interventions and is integrated into an early childhood environment. The study’s adoptionof an ethnographic-influenced methodology has made it possible to capture the full range of exchanges between the child and key adults. This approach furthermore highlights the child’s participation in a wide variety of exchanges that are regulated by various expectations and conversational conventions. At the same time, the study’s interactionist analysis calls attention to the conversational competencies of the child, as well as the scaffolding efforts of his parents and his therapists to maintain and pursue the exchanges. The analysis makes visible three participatory scenes, open, guided and closed, within which the adults’ scaffolding varies, the competencies of the child vary, and, more broadly, the learning objectives vary. In conclusion, the study discusses the appropriateness of different therapeutic interventions aimed at preparing the observed child with autism for integration into a regular preschool setting

Full textWidening participation programmes have been launched simultaneously in both France and England in the 2000s. They stem from the idea that it is necessary for elite universities, despite their traditional mission of elite education, to get involved in the field of antidiscrimination and thus develop measures to increase equality of opportunity and diversify their student body. This thesis highlights the impact of these programmes on the way to address social inequalities in the educational sector. In fact, widening participation schemes contribute to the dissemination of a new interpretation of social mobility on the basis of a compensation targeting talented pupils (Pupils identified as “with potential”) rather than sustaining the most deprived of them. It is allowed by the current withdrawal of the traditional role of the Welfare state in education (in a context of financial crisis) which increases the pressure on universities (through financial incentives), in the name of their social responsibility towards society. This work is based on an ethnographic survey led in three French and English elite institutions, including the University of Oxford, Sciences Po and ESSEC
Gouard, David. "La "banlieue rouge" face au renouvellement des générations : une sociologie politique des cités Maurice Thorez et Youri Gagarine à Ivry-sur-Seine." Thesis, Montpellier 1, 2011. http://www.theses.fr/2011MON10037.
Full textFor decades, Ivry-sur-Seine was seen as a model Communist stronghold within the Paris ‘Red Belt'. The particular brand of communism practiced by Ivry's municipal government had turned its working-class housing estates into laboratories directed towards the production of a singularly efficient political affiliation system. Until the watershed of the 1980s, electoral results for the various communist representatives in the Maurice Thorez and Yuri Gagarin housing estates seemed to corroborate this. The decline of the politicization model born of industrialization as well as the generation gap have radically undermined the conditions in which a socio-political affiliation system favourable to communist representatives can survive, however. The choice of a long-term ethnographic approach can give us insight into this phenomenon. Since the middle of the 1980s, the contrasting socio-political evolution of the Thorez and Gagarin allotments has testified to the intra-municipal disruption that affects this type of suburban Parisian territory. In the Yuri Gagarin area, the majority of older working-class families have been replaced with a new working-class population essentially stemming from immigration. Often unaware of the rich history of communism in their municipality, these new generations are sometimes actively involved in the challenging of the older local political authority. Downtown, on the contrary, the descendants of the families that were closest to the local party machine have maintained residency in the Maurice Thorez area. Community links have survived around a local political “endocracy” that works relatively independently from the older partisan frame. For many middle-class families living in Ivry, the maintenance of a certain communist authority makes it easier to accept the social, political, and electoral transformations of contemporary municipal communism

Full textThis research addresses the issue of curriculum change in the teaching of Spanish in Chile. This modification in the curriculum in 1996 caused a change of the school discipline’s name, a new organization of content as well as a new didactic approach to teaching. We postulate that these changes have caused instability in the manner of perceiving the teaching of Spanish today. Thus, the starting point of this research is to know and to explain the impact of the different curricular alterations among teachers, both in their own representation of the discipline and in the way they handle the content. Our main motivation was to know the views of primary school Spanish teachers. Therefore, we interviewed twelve teachers from different schools in Santiago, Chile. All of these institutions had in common a predominantly disadvantaged school population. Our interest in the last grade of primary school, is explained by the fact that it provides a level of education that gives access to secondary education. Thus, in this class, students are expected to have acquired a number of abilities and skills to get to the secondary level. One of our initial hypotheses postulates that the students of the interviewed teachers have not acquired the capabilities and basic skills that the curriculum of this grade reports as required. We postulated this as the new contents and new didactic approach to school discipline involve a more sophisticated teaching, a teaching based particularly on the development of skills that teachers do not fully understand
Poirier, Adrien. "Investissements privés et occupation étrangère : les milieux d'affaires français et l'intervention militaire en Russie, 1917-1920." Thesis, 2020. http://hdl.handle.net/1866/25083.
Full textIn 1917, the Bolshevik party seized power in Russia, repudiated state debt, nationalized private enterprises and imposed early forms of Soviet management to the economy. France, whose economic ties with Russia had largely grown during the three previous decades, saw her huge investments in the country compromised. The French private sector, by far the most affected of all Allied powers, reacted strongly to this regime change. This memoir focuses on the subsequent actions of the private sector, and seeks to understand how they reacted to the Bolshevik’s coming to power. Did they play a role in the process of decision-making towards military intervention? Did they have any impact on the ground in Russia? How did they react to the ultimate failure of the intervention and the loss of their assets? We demonstrate that the economic factor was central in the adoption of an interventionist policy. We also examine how the French government discreetly tried to support the private sector, but mostly used it to advance its own interests in Russia. Finally, we demonstrate that the failure of the private sector to defend its interests has many common causes with the failure of the military intervention itself.
