Persistence is measured by the length of time an object is retained and is usable in a system. Persistent languages extend general purpose languages by providing the full range of persistence for data of any type. Moreover, data which remains on disk after program termination, is manipulated in the same way as transient data. As these languages are based on general purpose programming languages, they tend to be program-centred rather than data-centred. This thesis investigates the inclusion of data-oriented features in a persistent programming language. P-Pascal, a Persistent Pascal, has been designed and implemented to develop techniques for data clustering, metadata maintenance, security enforcement and bulk data management. It introduces type completeness to Pascal and in particular shows how a type-complete set constructor can be provided. This type is shown to be a practical and versatile mechanism for handling bulk data collections in a persistent environment. Relational algebra operators are provided and the automatic optimisation of set expressions is performed by the compiler and the runtime system. The P-Pascal Abstract Machine incorporates two complementary data placement strategies, automatic updating of type information, and metadata query facilities. The protection of data types, primary (named) objects and their individual components is supported. The challenges and opportunities presented by the persistent store organisation are discussed, and techniques for efficiently exploiting these properties are proposed. We also describe the effects on a data-oriented system of treating persistent and transient data alike, so that they cannot be distinguished statically. We conclude that object clustering, metadata maintenance and security enforcement can and should be incorporated in persistent programming languages. The provision of a built-in, type-complete bulk data constructor and its non-procedural operators is demonstrated. We argue that this approach is preferable to engineering such objects on top of a language, because of greater ease of use and considerable opportunity for automatic optimisation. The existence of such a type does not preclude programmers from constructing their own bulk objects using other types - this is but one advantage of a persistent language over a database system.

Abstract:
Turbo Pascal, a compiler for the personal computer, was investigated to determine if it is compatible with the calculations required by Structural engineers. The compiler was evaluated for calculation intensive programming as well as programming for data manipulation. A processor and a preprocessor for a plane frame program were used because they test the power of the language for calculations and they require the software to be user friendly and highly flexible with regard to manipulation of data. A description of the development and a user's guide to the programs are included.

Primenjen je model Web baziranog sistema učenja na daljinuDLearn, sa 9 modula (upravljenje korisnicima i dozvolama,administrativni modul, modul za upravljanje korisničkim podacima, modulza održavanje nastavnih materijala (CM – Curriculum Module), modul zaproveru znanja, modul za prijavu ispita, modul za slanje e – mail poruka,modul za generisanje različitih izveštaja, modul za publikovanje poSCORM standardu). Omogućena primena savremene tehnologije, čime se prati sadašnji naučno – tehnološko – informatički razvoj, opismenjavanje učenika za primenu savremene tehnologije, nastavnicima olakšan i pojednostavljen načinpromene teorije i zadataka, i na taj način omogućeno jednostavnije i boljepraćenje ubrzanog društvenog razvoja, proučavanje gradiva kada učenicimaodgovara, nema propuštene nastave, prelazak na novu temu tek nakonsavladavanja prethodne, način i stil rada primereni su svakom učeniku,svako radi prema svojim sposobnostima i sklonostima, čime se povećavastepen usvojenosti predviđenog nastavnog sadržaja.
Created a model of learning programming language PASCAL in the distance, with guidelines for better implementation of the teaching process in the implementation of the computer. Applied the model of Web-based distance learning system DLearn, with 9 modules (control users and permissions, administrative module, the module for managing user data, module for the maintenance of teaching material (CM – Curriculum Module), module test, examine the application module, the module for sending e - mail messages, the module to generate various reports, the module for publication by SCORM standard). Enabled the application of modern technology, which monitors the current science - technology - informatics development, literacy students for the application of modern technology, teachers relieved and simplified theory of how the changes and tasks, and thus allow easier and better tracking of accelerated social development, studies of the match when the students, no missed school, switch to the new theme only after overcoming the previous, manner and style of work are appropriate each student, each working according to their abilities and preferences, increasing the level of acquisition of the scheduled content.

Assim, desenvolveu-se uma interface (hardware), bem como todo o software necessário para operar o equipamento e fazer a aquisição dos dados digitalizados. Este software, permite, também, a visualização interativa das imagens, usada para definir regiões de interesse no filme.
The present work was developed to enable the operation of the Optronics P-1000 densitometer using a IBM-PC compatible microcomputer. Therefore a hardware interface as well as all the needed software to operate the equipment and execute the data acquisition was developed. This software provides also interactive vicualization and operation used to define regions of interest on the film.

Este trabalho apresenta uma proposta para implementação de um subconjunto de instruções e comandos de uma linguagem Pascal Padrão ISSO, aplicada a arquitetura RISC, tendo como base a arquitetura RISC-LIE [Vale91], proposta e desenvolvida no IFQSC. Para definição e construção de parte do código gerado foi utilizada a ferramenta de desenvolvimento de compiladores YACC, que definiu toda estrutura gramatical da linguagem, sendo que as demais estruturas foram desenvolvidas usando interfaces em linguagem C. O código gerado pelo computador utilizou trinta instruções de máquina que compõe o simulador da arquitetura RISC-LIE, gerando assim códigos compatíveis que podem ser interpretados por esse simulador.
This work presents a proposal for an implementation of a subset of instructions and commands of Standard Pascal ISO applied to RISC architectures. The work was developed using the RISC-LIE architecture as our target [Vale91]. The RISC-LIE has been proposed and developed at IFQSC. Part of the code was defined and constructed using YACC, a tool for compilers development which defined the grammatical structure of language. The remainder routines were developed using the C language. The code produced by the compiler used the thirty instructions of the RISC-LIE instruction set. These instructions are implemented in the RISC-LIE architecture simulator. Therefore, generates codes that can be interpreted by this simulator.

Abstract:
LBIC is a technique for scanning the local quantum efficiency of solar cells. This kind of measurements needs a highly specialized, and time critical controlling software. In 1996 the client, professor Markus Rinio, constructed an LBIC system, and wrote the controlling software as a Turbo-Pascal 7.0 application, running under the MS-DOS 6.22 operating system. By now (2018) both the software and several hardware components are in dire need to be modernized. This thesis thoroughly describes several important aspects of this work, and the considerations needed for a successful result. This includes both very foundational choices about the software architecture, the choice of suitable operating system, the threading model, and the adaptation to new hardware with vastly different behavior. The project also included a new hardware module for position reports and instrument triggering, as well as several adaptations to transform the DOS-based LBIC software into a pleasant modern GUI application.

On s'intéresse alors au garanties restantes lorsque certains de ces participants sont compromis. Le but de cette thèse est de proposer et d'évaluer un système transparent de capture de mouvements des mains en temps réel pour permettre la réalisation d'interactions 3D en environnement virtuel (E.V.). Les outils tels que le clavier et la souris ne suffisent plus lorsque l'on travaille dans des E.V. 3D et les systèmes de capture de mouvements actuels ont l'inconvénient du coût et du port de matériel. Les systèmes basés sur des caméras et le traitement d'images comblent en partie ces lacunes, mais ne permettent pas encore une capture de mouvements 3D précise, efficace et temps réel. Notre système propose une solution à ce problème grâce à une caméra 3D. Nous avons implémenté des modalités qui permettent une interaction plus naturelle avec les objets et l'E.V. L'objectif de notre système est d'obtenir des performances au moins égales à celles d'outils couramment utilisés en réalité virtuelle tout en offrant une meilleure acceptabilité globale, mesurée sous l'angle de l'utilité, de l'utilisabilité et du sentiment d'immersion. Pour répondre à cet objectif, nous avons mené 3 études expérimentales impliquant plus de 100 participants. L'étude 1 a comparé, pour une tâche de sélection, la première version de notre système (basé sur une Camera 3D MESA SwissRanger) à une souris classique. L'expérimentation 2 est axée sur l'étude de la réalisation de tâches de manipulation d'objets (positionnement, orientation, redimensionnement) et de navigation en E.V. Pour cette étude, nous avons comparé la version améliorée de notre système (basée sur la Microsoft Kinect) à des gants de données associés à des capteurs magnétiques. La 3ème étude, complémentaire, porte sur l'évaluation de nouvelles modalités d'interaction, implémentées d'après les commentaires recueillis auprès des participants de la seconde étude.
