We introduce renormalized integrals which generalize conventional measure theoretic integrals. One approximates the integration domain by measure spaces and defines the integral as the limit of integrals over the approximating spaces. Williams, Nikki LaTrina. "On eliminating square paths in a square lattice." Thesis, 2000. http://hdl.handle.net/1911/17386.

Full text
Abstract:
Removing the minimum number of vertices or points from a square lattice such that no square path exists is known as the square path problem. Finding this number as the size of the lattice increases is not so trivial. Results provided by Erdos-Posa and Bienstock-Dean provides an upper bound for eliminating all cycles from a planar graph but sheds little light on the case of the square lattice. This paper provides several values for the minimum number of vertices needed to be removed such that no square path exists.

"Routing and Scheduling of Electric and Alternative-Fuel Vehicles." Doctoral diss., 2014. http://hdl.handle.net/2286/R.I.24799.

Abstract:
abstract: Vehicles powered by electricity and alternative-fuels are becoming a more popular form of transportation since they have less of an environmental impact than standard gasoline vehicles. Unfortunately, their success is currently inhibited by the sparseness of locations where the vehicles can refuel as well as the fact that many of the vehicles have a range that is less than those powered by gasoline. These factors together create a "range anxiety" in drivers, which causes the drivers to worry about the utility of alternative-fuel and electric vehicles and makes them less likely to pur

碩士
國立臺灣科技大學
機械工程系
90
Sculptured-surfaces are typically found in various objects, such as 3C products, aerospace and automotive parts, and electronic components. For the issue of sculptured-surface machining, long-term research focus has been placed on generating accurate and short-cutting-time cutter paths for finishing operations. Unlike the traditional way of generating zig-zag or spiral cutter-paths directly from the geometry of the surface to be machined, this study generates the cutter-location (CL) data by projecting the 2D-spiral path onto a surface which offsets from the ma

Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI)
Evolutionary testing (ET) techniques (e.g., mutation, crossover, and natural selection) have been applied successfully to many areas of software engineering, such as error/fault identification, data mining, and software cost estimation. Previous research has also applied ET techniques to performance testing. Its application to performance testing, however, only goes as far as finding the best and worst case, execution times. Although such performance testing is beneficial, it provides little insight into performance characteristics o

Deng, Yumin. "Combining mathematical programming and enhanced GRASP metaheuristics : an application to semiconductor manufacturing." 2009. http://hdl.handle.net/2152/17309.

Full text
Abstract:
Planning and scheduling in semiconductor manufacturing is a difficult problem due to long cycle times, a large number of operational steps, diversified product types, and low-volume high-mix customer demand. This research addresses several problems that arise in the semiconductor industry related to front-end wafer fabrication operations and back-end assembly and test operations. The mathematical models built for these problems turn out to be large-scale mixed integer programs and hard to solve with exact methods. The major contribution of this research is to combine mathematical programming w
