Abstract:
An empirical analysis was conducted focusing on how the United States-based NBC and the Canada-based CBC portrayed male figure skaters in comparison with their male Winter Olympic counterparts on the networks’ primetime 2014 Olympic broadcasts. Using 100% of all primetime broadcast content as a universe of investigation, NBC’s and the CBC’s commentary about male figure skaters was compared with the aggregate of all other male Winter Olympians in the areas of success, failure and personality/physicality. Analysis of NBC’s primetime coverage of the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games revealed five (5) significantly-different dialogue trends between male figure skaters and the aggregate of other male Winter Olympians, while analysis of the CBC’s primetime coverage revealed seven (7) significantly-different dialogue trends between male figure skaters and the aggregate of other male Winter Olympians. Differences were not consistent from network to network, showing that NBC and CBC treated male figure skaters differently, yet in significantly different manners by network. Insights are offered on the theoretical and applied levels.Une analyse empirique a été conduite pour savoir comment la chaîne américaine NBC et la chaîne canadienne CBC présentaient les patineurs sur glace par rapport à leurs homologues masculins participant aux Jeux Olympiques d’Hiver lors de leurs prime times en 2014. En utilisant 100% du contenu des prime times diffusés comme terrain d’investigation, les commentaires de NBC et de CBC concernant les patineurs sur glace ont été comparés à ceux, agrégés, de tous les autres olympiens masculins dans le domaine de la réussite, de l’échec, de la personnalité et du physique. L’analyse de la couverture des Jeux Olympiques 2014 de Sotchi en prime time sur NBC a révélé cinq types de discours significativement différents entre les patineurs et l’ensemble des autres olympiens alors que l’analyse de la couverture en prime time du CBC en a révélé sept. Les différences ne sont pas similaires d’une chaîne à l’autre, ce qui montre que NBC et CBC ont traité les patineurs sur glace différemment. Des éclairages sont apportés aux niveaux théoriques et appliqués.

Abstract:
Aim: In this study we want to point out the existence and significance of skip metastasis of rectosimoid cancer. Material and methods: Seventy patinents with verified rectosigmoidal adenocarcinoma, treated in 5- years period, are included in this study. Diagnose was made upon physical examination, barium enema, rectosigmoidoscopy with positive biopsy and finding of isolated lymph node metastasis. Results: Skip metastasis were found within 6 patients (8.6%); 4 of them were males and 2 females, with average age 67 years. Overall, 13 metastasis were isolated; one patient had them 3 and five patinets had 2 skip metastasis. Conclusion: Radical lymphadenectomy of patinets with rectosimoidal cancer requires dissection of lymph nodes along inferior mesenteric artery and its legation on origin, as much as dissection of paraaortal and paracaval lymph nodes.

Abstract:
O aumento expressivo de veículos e a falta de infraestrutura capaz de evitar congestionamentos no trânsito urbano, forçou as cidades a adotarem estratégias e uso da micromobilidade que inclui veículos como as patinetes e bicicletas. A micromobilidade é prática, sustentável e flexível para deslocamentos em curtos trajetos urbanos, que muitas vezes são percorridos a pé ou por outro tipo de condução. Este trabalho objetiva demonstrar que a implantação das patinetes em adição as bicicletas, pode ser uma alternativa de mobilidade urbana. O método adotado inclui uma pesquisa bibliográfica, seguida de uma entrevista a 356 voluntários de ambos os sexos que responderam três perguntas distintas. Os resultados demonstraram a preferência por transportes público (50,8%), uso de patinetes como meio de locomoção (78,9 %) e que a maior parte dos entrevistados consideram a patinete como micromobilidade (45,8%).

Abstract:
Le mouvement du pas de patineur est utilisé en skating, pratique moderne du ski de fond. Il résulte de l'association d'un geste technique et d'une évolution technologique. Le geste étudié : le décalé, est une des techniques qui correspond à une poussée latérale alternative des jambes associée à une poussée décalée des bras. Pour rendre compte de sa complexité gestuelle et pouvoir l'analyser au niveau mécanique, notre but est de construire un modèle dynamique en trois dimensions. Ce modèle est réalisé grâce au logiciel de biomécanique LifeModeler, module intégré du logiciel ADAMS. Outil de modélisation et de simulation cinématique et dynamique, il permet de modéliser le corps humain comme un robot anthropomorphe. La première étape consiste à construire un modèle humain, reproduisant la technique du décalé sur un sol dur. Pour valider ce modèle, nous analysons finement la cinématique en la comparant aux données recueillies dans la littérature. Dans un second temps, le modèle est équipé. Les paramètres de contact sont élaborés de manière à rendre l’effet d’un sol enneigé. Nous procédons à une simulation dynamique inverse puis directe. La simulation inverse rend assez bien compte de la réalité d’un point de vue cinématique, l’ordre de grandeur des forces de contact est bon. Pour la simulation dynamique directe nous utilisons l’ensemble des muscles disponibles dans le logiciel. Le modèle est stable, mais tous les problèmes n’ont pu être réglés notamment au niveau de la préhension des bâtons. Ce travail permet de montrer la méthodologie de modélisation d’un skieur équipé de bâtons et de skis souples. Le modèle permet d’accéder aux efforts musculaires lors d'un cycle de décalé
The skating movement is used in the modern practical of cross-country skiing. It results from the association of a technical motion and a technological development. The technical motion studied is the offset. It is one of the techniques, it corresponds to an alternative lateral thrust of the legs associated with a push shifted with the arms. To give an account of its gestural complexity and to be able to analyze it at the mechanical level, our goal is to build a threedimensional dynamic model. This model is carried out thanks to the biomechanics software LifeModeler, plug in of ADAMS software. Dynamic simulation and numerical model tool, LifeModeler makes it possible to model the human body like an anthropomorphic robot. The first stage consists in building a human model, reproducing the movements of the offset on a hard ground. To validate this model, we finely analyze kinematics by comparing it with the data collected in a thesis. In the second time, the model is equipped. We elaborate the contact parameters so as to simulate the effect of a snow-covered ground. We carry out an inverse dynamic simulation then a forward dynamic simulation. The inverse simulation gives rather well an account of the reality from a kinematic point of view, the order of magnitude contact forces is good. For forward dynamic simulation we use the whole of the muscles available in the software. The stability of the model is correct, but not all the problems could be regulated particularly the gripping of the poles. This work makes possible to show the modelling method of a cross-country skier equipped with poles and flexible skis. The model gives access to the skier muscular efforts

El hockey sobre patins és un esport col•lectiu de col•laboració i oposició en el qual l’objectiu principal és marcar a porteria. Per això, s’utilitzen distintes tècniques de dispar: Pala i cullera. Els objectius d’aquesta tesi doctoral són contextualitzar i descriure la utilitat del dispar de Pala en el hockey sobre patins així com analitzar els factors que influeixen en la velocitat de la bolla durant la seva realització. Els resultats d’aquest treball suggereixen que la tècnica més utilitzada i la que més velocitat aconsegueix és la tècnica de Pala, sense veure’s modificada la velocitat màxima durant els 35 dispars. La velocitat màxima de la bolla en els dispars a porteria sembla correlacionar de forma significativa, amb la velocitat de llançament de pilota medicinal i amb la prova de velocitat en canvis de direcció durant 25 metres. Els jugadors de categoria professional posseeixen, en general, majors nivells d’equilibri i que existeix una relació directa entre el mateix i disparar la bolla a major velocitat.
El hockey sobre patines es un deporte colectivo de colaboración y oposición en el que el objetivo principal es marcar en la portería contraria. Para ello, se utilizarán distintas técnicas de disparo: Pala y Cuchara. Los objetivos de esta tesis doctoral son contextualizar y describir la utilidad del disparo de Pala en el hockey sobre patines, y analizar los factores que influyen en la velocidad de la bola durante su realización. Los resultados de este trabajo sugieren que la técnica más utilizada y la que mayor velocidad de disparo alcanza es la técnica de Pala, no viendo modificada su velocidad máxima a lo largo de 35 disparos. La velocidad máxima de la bola en los disparos a portería parece correlacionar, de forma significativa, con la velocidad de lanzamiento de balón medicinal y con la prueba de velocidad con cambios de dirección de 25 metros. Los jugadores de categoría profesional poseen en general mayores niveles de equilibrio y que existe una relación directa entre éste y disparar la bola a mayor velocidad.
Roller hockey is a collective sport of collaboration and opposition in which the main objective is to score in the opposite goal. For this, different shooting techniques will be used: Pala and Cuchara . The objectives of this doctoral thesis are to contextualize and describe the utility of the Pala shot in roller hockey, and to analyze the factors that influence the speed of the ball during its execution. The results of this work suggest that the most used technique and the one with the highest shooting speed is the Pala technique, without any modifications in the maximum speed during 35 shots. The maximum velocity of the ball in the goal shots seems to correlate, significantly, with the throwing speed of the medical ball and with the test of speed with changes of direction in 25 meters. In addition, it seems that professional players generally have higher levels of balance and there is a direct relationship between the balance and shot the ball at a higher speed.

En esta tesis doctoral se estudia la biología reproductora de una especie de ave limícola, el Chorlitejo patinegro, en ecosistemas dunares de playas del mediterráneo español. Se estudian diferentes aspectos de la reproducción de esta especie, como la selección del hábitat, supervivencia de los nidos o el comportamiento de las aves durante la incubación, en relación al nivel de perturbación humana de las playas. Se analizan diversos compromisos ecológicos que deben afrontar las aves en lo que respecta a la supervivencia de las puestas y el riesgo de depredación, como la relación entre el camuflaje de los nidos y la detección temprana de los depredadores (a través de la visibilidad desde el nido), o la contribución relativa de la defensa de los nidos (y los riesgos asumidos frente a la depredación) sobre el éxito reproductor. Se evalúan diferentes métodos de seguimiento de los nidos de varias especies de aves limícolas en relación a su uso como evidencias de existencia de actividad en las puestas, así como para la estimación del éxito o fracaso de los nidos. Finalmente, se presenta una revisión bibliográfica del impacto de las actividades humanas en playas sobre los procesos biológicos de las aves litorales. Se presentan numerosas propuestas de gestión para compatibilizar los usos turísticos de las playas con la conservación de las aves litorales.

Abstract:
La formation de patines noires riches en fer et/ou manganèse sur les édifices en grès est un phénomène observé pour une grande variété d’environnements mais qui n’est pas encore totalement compris. Le château de Lunéville, situé dans l’est de la France, est un cas d’étude intéressant puisqu'il présente des patines apparues pour différentes conditions : certaines semblent s’être formées naturellement alors que d’autres se sont développées sur des pierres ayant été exposées à un incendie. Ces dernières ont connu une élévation de leur température de surface, mais ont surtout été soumises à de grandes quantités d’eau lors de l’intervention des pompiers. Ce travail de thèse vise à mieux comprendre le phénomène de formation des patines en étudiant différents faciès de grès prélevés sur le château de Lunéville et en carrière. Afin d’appréhender l’influence des paramètres intrinsèques aux grès, des faciès patinés et non patinés ont été comparés d’un point de vue pétrophysique, chimique et minéralogique en s’appuyant sur des techniques d’analyse de laboratoire (microscopies optique et électronique avec sonde d’analyse dispersive en énergie, diffraction des rayons X, spectrométrie Raman, mesures de perméabilité, porosité et capillarité, ...), et sur de grands instruments (analyses par émission de rayons X induits par des particules (PIXE) sur l’accélérateur de proton AGLAE, analyses en micro-diffraction des rayons X et micro-spectrométrie d’absorption X (XANES) au synchrotron SOLEIL). En complément de cette caractérisation des blocs de pierre, les patines formées dans différents environnements ont également été comparées afin de dégager les paramètres extrinsèques dominants. Enfin, l’aspect dynamique de la libération du manganèse par les grès a été étudié, d’une part en menant des expériences de dissolution pour plusieurs pH, d’autre part en montrant qu’il était possible de recréer une patine de manganèse en laboratoire, par imbibition d’une éprouvette de grès. Les résultats obtenus permettent de proposer un modèle de formation des patines basé sur la dissolution des phases manganésifères initialement présentes dans les grès, puis la migration des ions libérés en solution dans le milieu poreux vers la surface des pierres
The formation of iron and/or manganese black patina on sandstone buildings is a phenomenon observed for various environments but which is not fully understood yet. The palace of Lunéville, in eastern France, is an interesting example because it has patinas that have developed in different conditions : some seem to have grown naturally while others have appeared on stones which were exposed to a fire. These stones experienced an increase of their surface temperature, but most of all, they were subjected to a substantial volume of water as part of attempts to extinguish the fire. The goal of this thesis is to understand the formation of the patinas by investigating different sandstone facies collected from the palace of Lunéville and from quarry. In order to understand the influence of the sandstones intrinsic parameters, the patinated and unpatinated facies were compared from petrophysical, chemical and mineralogical point of view, using laboratory techniques (optical and electron microscopy with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, Raman spectrometry, permeability, porosity and capillarity measurements, ...) and large instruments (Particle Induced X-ray Emission (PIXE) on the AGLAE proton accelerator, X-ray micro-diffraction analysis and X-ray absorption micro spectroscopy (XANES) at the SOLEIL synchrotron). In addition to this characterization, patinas coming from different environments were also compared in order to extract the main extrinsic parameters. Finally, the dynamical aspect of the release of manganese from the sandstones was investigated by conducting dissolution experiments at various pH, and by demonstrating the possibility to recreate a Mn patina in laboratory, using sandstone imbibition techniques. The results allow to propose a model for the patina formation based on the dissolution of the Mn-phases initially present in the sandstones’ bulks, followed by the migration through the porous network towards the surface of the ions released in the solution

Abstract:
L'objet de cette étude était de déterminer le profil biométrique, hormonal, lipidique et bioenergétique au cours de la puberté de jeunes patineuses artistiques. Selon le principe d'une étude semi-longitudinale, dix-huit filles (8-16 ans), s'entrainant entre 6 et 12 heures par semaine, ont ete reparties en six groupes d'age et trois groupes pubertaires (a: stade 1 ; b: stade 2, c: stades 3-4-5 ; tanner, 1962). L'évaluation des dimensions biométriques et des données pubertaires ne révèlent pas d'anomalie de croissance staturo-ponderale, ni du développement pubertaire. Les valeurs de dehydroepiandrosterone sérique (dhas) et delta 4 androstenedione serique (delta 4s) de repos augmentent avec l'age et la puberté, indiquant une évolution similaire a celle rapportée dans la littérature. Les taux de cortisol (fs) de repos ne montrent aucune difference significative ni avec l'age ni avec la puberté avec l'age et la puberte, la consommation maximale d'oxygéne (vo#2max ; selon une épreuve triangulaire, méthode directe sur tapis roulant) exprime en valeur globale augmente en parallèle avec la croissance, par contre vo#2max exprime par unite de masse corporelle diminue significativement. Il apparait que l'entrainement classique sur glace tel que pratique par ces patineuses, ne semble pas permettre de développer leurs possibilités aérobie. Pour la puissance maximale anaérobie (pmax calculée selon l'équation de lewis a partir du test de détente verticale) et quel que soit son mode d'expression, les patineuses les plus agées et les plus avancées dans leur déeloppement pubertaire, présentent des performances significativement supérieures. Les différences s'expliquent en partie par l'evolution des dimensions biometriques mais aussi par des facteurs qualitatifs musculaires. En une saison d'entrainement, les niveaux de hdl-c et des apo a-1 ont significativement augmente indiquant un effet bénéfique de la pratique régulière du patinage artistique sur le profil lipidique des patineuses

Memoria para optar al título de Periodista
Es la huella que se registró en la historia del deporte chileno aquella noche del 7 de octubre del año 2006. La selección chilena levantaba la Copa del Mundo. Pero no era una selección chilena cualquiera: era de hockey patín. Un deporte que jamás ha sido masivo en nuestro país como sí lo es el fútbol y, en cierto sentido, el tenis. Un deporte que sigue siendo catalogado de segundo orden en Chile, pese a que frecuentemente proporciona destacados resultados en los mundiales de su especialidad. Un deporte que carece regularmente de portadas en los diarios o minutos en televisión. Aún se discute si efectivamente fue la primera vez que un representativo nacional se consagra como el mejor del planeta en un deporte netamente colectivo. Al margen de eso, lo cierto es que las “Marcianitas” del hockey patín lo consiguieron sin ser un deporte profesionalizado en Chile. Más encima, lo lograron sin contar con grandes recursos para financiar su participación en el mundial. Tampoco para su preparación. Y mucho menos, para costear el equipamiento indispensable para la práctica de este deporte (un material oneroso que no está al alcance de cualquier persona, por lo demás). Aún así, pudieron vencer a representativos de países en los que el hockey patín sí es una actividad rentada y que cuenta con un apoyo masivo de hinchas y patrocinadores. Es por esto que la obtención del título mundial invita a pensar en un solo calificativo: gesta. Muchos de los adversarios aparecían como imbatibles para la selección chilena. Pero lo hicieron. Las “Marcianitas” vencieron en buena lid a sus oponentes en la cancha. También a sus oponentes fuera de ella. Y estos últimos sí que se veían como invencibles. Las dificultades finalmente quedaron atrás: ellas fueron, sin discusión, las mejores del mundo. Para efectos de esta investigación, se consideró la construcción de un marco de antecedentes que definiera los conceptos necesarios para sustentar y, al mismo tiempo, acotar el desarrollo. Redactarlo significó una ardua búsqueda de bibliografía referente al hockey patín (no sólo en Chile, dado que en el país lo publicado acerca de hockey es prácticamente inexistente), además de una recopilación de datos a través de internet y algunas entrevistas personalizadas a entendidos sobre la materia. Luego, junto con el planteamiento de objetivos generales y específicos, se trabajó con el establecimiento de hipótesis a comprobar luego del transcurso de la investigación. El desarrollo fue la parte medular del trabajo, dado que en éste se narran los acontecimientos y los perfiles personales que van configurando la historia de las “Marcianitas”. El principal sustento del desarrollo fueron las entrevistas, las que fueron personalizadas en el caso de todas las jugadoras del plantel que obtuvo el título mundial. Lo mismo ocurrió con el director técnico, el preparador físico y el presidente de la federación. No así con el asistente técnico y el presidente de la Confederación Sudamericana de Hockey Patín, quienes se encontraban en el extranjero al momento de la investigación y fueron contactados vía telefónica. El mismo procedimiento se realizó en algunos casos a integrantes marginados de la nómina, a familiares y personas relacionadas con el proceso, si bien se privilegiaba la entrevista personalizada. El correo electrónico también fue una buena herramienta de comunicación. Por último, se estipuló una conclusión acerca del trabajo efectuado, basándose en lo planteado previamente en las hipótesis. Si se pudiese definir mediante algún método, se privilegió el inductivo, dado que se establecieron reflexiones generales a partir de premisas específicas. Cabe señalar que esta investigación fue planificada desde diciembre del año 2006. Su concreción no estuvo exenta de dificultades, dada la difusa información que muchas veces hay referente al hockey patín. Los testimonios de muchas personas debieron ser contrapuestos para verificar la veracidad de algunos datos. Lo cierto es que se trata de una memoria para obtener el título de periodista, por lo que fue siempre el afán aplicar todo lo aprendido en años de universidad para plasmarlo de la mejor forma posible en esta investigación.
