Abstract:
Payment of receivables collection at PT. Telekomunikasi Indonesia (IndiHome) has a payment system that follows the times. Payment Collection is one part of the company that is in charge of processing monitoring and billing data for consumers who are negligent in making payments and making reports on billing evidence, reports of consumer internet disturbances and then input into the data system which will later be seen by the regional. This study aims to see which is more effective and efficient between cash payments and non-cash payments (digital). This study uses qualitative methods with primay data types. Based on the research results, IndiHome payment transactions, both cash and non-cash, have their respective advantages and disadvantages. IndiHome payments in cash can be said to be effective because customers get payment receipts in detail, clearly and transparently. However, cash payments cannot be said to be efficient because it uses such a long process. One of them is that customers have to come and queue to pay monthly for IndiHome and this can take a long time, requires energy and money. In contrast to non- cash payments (digital). Non-effective payments have not been said to be effective because of frequent errors in making payments such as different bills, bills that do not appear, and excess payments. However, for the efficiency of digital payments, it is said to be quite efficient because the payment process is quite easy and fast. Digital payments can be made anywhere and anytime.

Abstract:
Abstract Electronic payments are considered to be a fast and secure alternative for traditional payment methods. Today, it is impossible to imagine modern bank operations, commercial transactions and other payments without electronic payments. This article shows that electronic payments are not the only means for reducing costs with respect to other payment methods, such as cash, but can also generate significant benefits for increasing economic development and reducing shadow economy. The paper focuses on the development of electronic payments in Georgia and its impact on the economy of the country. Over the decades, the payment systems in Georgia have evolved significantly in line with the technological advancement. Significant progress has been achieved in improving the e-payment systems infrastructure. The evolution of e-payments in Georgia can be characterized by the following: debit (including prepaid) and credit cards, credit and debit transfers compose a core set of noncash payment types commonly used today by consumers and businesses. These core noncash payment types are used both in traditional ways, such as in-person purchases, payroll deposits, and bill payments, and in innovative ways, such as contactless and mobile payments, e-commerce and online bill payments. Using the economic-mathematical analyses of the information taken from the web-page of the National Bank of Georgia and commercial banks’ publications, a mathematical model was built, based on which the positive relationship between e-payments and economic growth in terms of real GDP was shown.

Abstract:
Bankruptcy has become a common problem in today's business world, under the Bankruptcy and Suspension of Payment Act, in addition to bankruptcy, one can do so through Suspension of Payment. Suspension of Payment is a method of debt-receivable dispute resolution which is supervised by a supervisory and administering judge, whose final legal product is peace or insolvency. Not all Debtors have good intentions, sometimes payments are made after Suspension of Payment's application is registered. According to the Article 245 of Law Number 37 of 2004 on Bankruptcy and Suspension of Payment, all payments made before the Suspension of Payment are not permitted, after the Suspension of Payment application has been applied for and has been registered at the commercial court in the district court. However there is a dualism of understanding of the prohibition, some claim that the payment is permissible, and some claim that the payment is not permitted. Many Debtors use these payments to abort the formal requirements of Suspension of Payment, which is not in accordance with the legal objectives of justice for all parties, because the usual payment is payment to only a portion of creditors, who have smaller debts, which makes other creditors not get legal certainty, and the consequence of that is that PKPU's application must be rejected. The purpose of this study is to find out how to apply Article 245 of Act No. 34 of 2004 as it should, so that it can be adjusted to the purpose of law, namely justice.

Abstract:
Non‐cash payments are intensively growing in the payment market. Therefore modern electronic systems of interbank payments are introduced to satisfy this need. The substantial renewal of the payment system was prompted for the implementation of the new banking technologies and aimed at increasing fund turnover as well as complying with the requirements applied in regard of payment systems. Such a system change is a topical theme of discussion on the simulation and analysis of systems of such kind. The article analyses the opportunities for simulating the interbank payment system and presents a model of interbank payments flow. The model is constructed on the analysis of real flow of payments in the payment system.

Objective To characterize drug and device industry payments to otolaryngologists in 2017 and compare them with payments from 2014 to 2016. Study Design Retrospective cross-sectional analysis. Setting 2017 Open Payments Database. Subjects and Methods We identified otolaryngologists in the Open Payments Database receiving nonresearch industry payments in 2017. We determined the total number and value of payments and the mean and median payments per compensated otolaryngologist. We characterized payments by census region, nature of payment, and sponsor subspecialty. Results A total of 8131 otolaryngologists received 66,414 payments totaling to $11.2 million in industry compensation in 2017. This is decreased from $14.5 million in 2016. The mean and median payment per compensated otolaryngologist was $1383 ($10,459) and $159 ($64-$420), respectively. Of the total compensation, 85% was received by the top 10th percentile of otolaryngologists. Speaking fees accounted for $3.1 million (28% of total payments), and food and beverage was the most common payment type (57,691 payments; 87%). Consulting fees decreased by $1 million from 2016 to 2017, and ownership interests decreased by $1.2 million from 2016 to 2017. The south had the highest total compensation value ($4.2 million), while the west had the highest mean payment value ($1561). Rhinology accounted for the highest proportion of payments of all otolaryngology subspecialties at $3.9 million (34%). Conclusion Industry payments to otolaryngologists decreased to $11.2 million in 2017 from $14.5 million in 2016. Much of the decrease can be attributed to decreases in consulting fees and ownership payments. It is important that otolaryngologists remain aware of changes in industry funding with each release of the Open Payments Database.

Abstract:
Background: The 2013 Physician Payments Sunshine Act mandates that all US drug and device manufacturers disclose payments to physicians annually in the Open Payments Database (OPD). We aimed to determine the prevalence, magnitude and nature of these payments to neurological surgery in 2015. Methods: Records of payments to physicians identified by the ‘neurological surgery’ taxonomy code in 2015 were accessed via the OPD. The data were analyzed in terms of the type and amounts of payments, companies making payments, and in comparison to previous studies. Results: In 2015, 330 companies made 83,690 payments ($99,048,607) to 7,613 physicians. The mean payment ($13,010) was substantially greater than the median ($114). Royalties and licensing accounted for the largest proportion of total payment value (74.2%), but only 1.7% of the total number. Food and beverage payments were the most commonly reported transaction (75%), but only 2.5% of the total value. Neurological surgery had the second highest average total payment per physician of any specialty. Conclusions: The overall value of payments to the neurological surgery specialty is driven by a small number of payments that may represent appropriate compensation for novel device development. The OPD provides an opportunity for increased transparency and for the interpretation of research in light of potential conflicts of interest.

Payments are an inherent element of economic activity (León and Ortega 2018). However, the evolution of payment instruments and the way individuals and businesses make daily payments has undergone enormous change in human history, particularly due to main innovations in payment systems in last decades (Gandhi 2016). The last innovation in payment system concerns mobile payment. The development of mobile payments market can have a positive impact on economic growth (Leon and Rodriguez 2012). Although the Polish market of mobile payments is in the initial phase of development, it is one of the pioneering and leading in Europe and globally. The main purpose of this article is to analyze, which feature (convenience, speed, availability, ease of use, safety) of mobile payments could be the most important for users from Poland.

Abstract:
The Open Payments database reports payments made to physicians by industry. Given the potential for financial conflicts of interest relating to patient outcomes, further scrutiny of these data is valuable. Therefore, the objective of this study was to analyze physician-industry relationships by specialty type, payment type, geospatial trend, and longitudinal trend between 2014–2018. We conducted an observational, retrospective data analysis of payments from the Open Payments database for licensed United States physicians listed in the National Plan & Provider Enumeration System (NPPES). Datasets from 2013–2018 were joined using the Python programming language. Aggregation and sub-setting by characteristics of interest was done in R to calculate means and frequencies of reported general physician payments from industry across different specialties, locations, timeframes, and payment types. Normalization was applied for numbers of physicians or payments. Geospatial statistical hot spot analysis was conducted in ArcGIS. 51.73 million payment records were analyzed. In total, 50,047,930 payments were issued to 771,113 allopathic or osteopathic physicians, representing $8,702,631,264 transferred from industry to physicians over the five-year period between 2014 and 2018. The mean payment amount was $179, with a standard deviation of $12,685. Variability in physicians’ financial relationships with industry were apparent across specialties, regions, time, and payment type. A limited match rate between records in the NPPES and Open Payments databases may have resulted in selection bias of trends related to physician characteristics. Further research is necessary, particularly in the context of changing industry payment trends and public perceptions of the appropriateness of these relationships.

Abstract:
ObjectiveTo investigate the association between physician characteristics and the value of industry payments.DesignObservational study.Setting and participantsUsing the 2015–2017 Open Payments reports of industry payments linked to the Physician Compare database, we examined the association between physician characteristics (physician sex, years in practice, medical school attended and specialty) and the industry payment value, adjusting for other physician characteristic and institution fixed effects (effectively comparing physicians practicing at the same institution).Main outcome measuresOur primary outcome was the value of total industry payments to physicians including (1) general payments (all forms of payments other than those classified for research purpose, eg, consulting fees, food, beverage), (2) research payments (payments for research endeavours under a written contract or protocol) and (3) ownership interests (eg, stock or stock options, bonds). We also investigated each category of payment separately.ResultsOf 544 264 physicians treating Medicare beneficiaries, a total of $5.8 billion in industry payments were made to 365 801 physicians during 2015–2017. The top 5% of physicians, by cumulative payments, accounted for 91% of industry payments. Within the same institution, male physicians, physicians with 21–30 years in practice and physicians who attended top 50 US medical schools (based on the research ranking) received higher industry payments. Across specialties, orthopaedic surgeons, neurosurgeons and endocrinologists received the highest payments. When we investigated individual types of payment, we found that orthopaedic surgeons received the highest general payments; haematologists/oncologists were the most likely to receive research payments and surgeons were the most likely to receive ownership interests compared with other types of physicians.ConclusionsIndustry payments to physicians were highly concentrated among a small number of physicians. Male sex, longer length of time in clinical practice, graduated from a top-ranked US medical school and practicing certain specialties, were independently associated with higher industry payments.

Abstract:
MI Nurul Hidayah Jambi City is one of the educational institutions managed by the Nurul Hidayah Foundation whose school payments include tuition payments, Infaq payments, Book payments, Clothes payments, while the payment system is still carried out manually, namely with payment transactions that still use cards. Then it is recorded in the cash book every time the student makes a payment. The weakness of the system is that it is still done manually, sometimes the card is easily torn, damaged or lost, the payment data recap process is still calculated manually from a list previously recorded in the cash book. Another weakness is when students want to pay, they forget to bring a payment card, they only bring money, so an error occurs because the cash book shows that students have not paid. With this problem analysis, researchers provide solutions related to the problems faced by these agencies by developing a payment information system, where the system can make it easier for employees to access all information data about payments and make it easier to make reports. The data to be inputted are class data, teacher data, administrative data, student data and payment data. With outputs in the form of class reports, teacher reports, administrative reports, student reports, payment reports and payment recap reports. With the creation of this payment information system, it is hoped that it will facilitate the administration section in carrying out its duties.

The paper is devoted to the analysis of the current state of the level of digitalization of customs payments, the administration of which is entrusted to the customs authorities. In particular, this work is devoted to the study of the expediency and effectiveness of administration through digitalization of customs payments. The article discusses the role of digitalization in the administration of customs payments. Customs payment systems are one of the significant factors of revenue receipt to the state budget. First of all, this is due to the time of processing customs documents, which the customs authorities are spending their resources on. On the part of customs administration, the system of payment of customs payments affects the level of "convenience" and completeness of payment of various customs payments. In this paper, the analysis of the following indicators affecting the turnover of the Russian Federation is carried out: the place of customs payments from the general budget of the Russian Federation, the number of open personal accounts, the number of additional customs payments as a result of the conducted examinations. The analysis showed an increase in the efficiency of administration of customs payments and the level of "convenience" of customs payments.

Amount of disclosed payments and distribution parameters of disclosed annual payment sums per person; separated by year of disclosure und whether they disclosed once or repeatedly.Results28 230 HCPs agreed to the disclosure of at least one payment in the database. In 2015, 19 905 HCPs agreed to the disclosure, decreasing to 15 782 HCPs in 2016. Whereas 7457 disclosed payments in both years, 12 448 disclosed only in 2015 and 8325 only in 2016. Payments of €32 426 721 in 2015 and €23 289 343 in 2016 were disclosed, that is, 27% and 23% of the total amounts spent on HCPs, respectively. Distribution of annual payments was skewed: the top 1% of HCPs disclosed annual payment sums between €17 049 and €200 194, while the median disclosed annual payment sum per person was €536 (IQR €1092). Disclosed payments were higher in male physicians and in physicians with higher academic degree.ConclusionsIf voluntary, disclosure rates of payments are low and therefore only provide a fragmented picture of interactions between HCPs and pharmaceutical companies. Efforts must be intensified to ensure obligatory disclosure of all payments worldwide.

This research aims to determine the influence of digital payments on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This research uses the Systematic Literature Review method using journal keywords on the influence of digital payment on micro, small and medieum entreprises (MSMEs). This research data comes from journals from 2020 to 2023. The research results show that the influence of digital payments on MSMEs shows that digital payments have several benefits felt by MSMEs. The results of the influence of digital payments on MSMEs show that there are benefits for MSMEs, such as increasing income, improving financial performance, and making transactions easier, thereby supporting business growth. This benefit helps consumers and MSMEs minimize the time and effort required to carry out transactions, as well as providing convenience with flexible payment options. The suggestion for using digital payments for MSME players is to collaborate on payments via a digital system, because using digital payments is considered capable of having a positive influence on their business income. However, MSME players must also be aware of various digital payment risks that may occur.

Abstract:
Background and Purpose— Industry payments to physicians raise concerns regarding conflicts of interest that could impact patient care. We explored nonresearch and nonownership payments from industry to vascular neurologists to identify trends in compensation. Methods— Using Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology data, we explored financial relationships between industry and US vascular neurologists from 2013 to 2018. We analyzed payment characteristics, including payment categories, payment distribution among physicians, regional trends, and biomedical manufacturers. Furthermore, we analyzed the top 1% (by compensation) of vascular neurologists with detailed payment categories, their position, and their contribution to stroke guidelines. Results— The number of board certified vascular neurologist increased from 1169 in 2013 to 1746 in 2018. The total payments to vascular neurologist increased from $99 749 in 2013 to $1 032 302 in 2018. During the study period, 16% to 17% of vascular neurologists received industry payments. Total payments from industry and mean physician payments increased yearly over this period, with consulting fee (31.1%) and compensation for services other than consulting (30.7%) being the highest paid categories. The top 10 manufacturers made the majority of the payments, and the top 10 products changed from drug or biological products to devices. Physicians from south region of the United States received the highest total payment (38.72%), which steadily increased. Payments to top 1% vascular neurologists increased from 64% to 79% over the period as payments became less evenly distributed. Among the top 1%, 42% specialized in neuro intervention, 11% contributed to American Heart Association/American Stroke Association guidelines, and around 75% were key leaders in the field. Conclusions— A small proportion of US vascular neurologists consistently received the majority of industry payments, the value of which grew over the study period. Only 11% of the top 1% receiving industry payments have authored American Heart Association/American Stroke Association guidelines, but ≈75% seem to be key leaders in the field. Whether this influences clinical practice and behavior requires further investigation.

Abstract:
Background: COVID-19 spread over the last two years has been instrumental in shifting physical banking transactions to mobile-based banking transactions. Recently, M-payments have dominated online and point-of-sale (POS) transactions in the Asia-pacific region. Therefore, there was a need to study the factors influencing M-payments. This research has been conducted to determine the significant factors influencing the usage and continuance usage of M-payment apps in an emerging country and particularly how gamified features enhance the usage of M-payments apps.is study is based on the perspectives of the Unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT2) and information system success (ISS) theory, and it adds three new determinants—trust, gamified features, and continued use of mobile payments to better explain and forecast users' behavioral intentions and continued use of mobile payment applications (M-payments apps). Method: The research has employed two studies on sample data from young users of M-payment apps (n=898), the dataset was analyzed through structural equation modelling for mediation and moderation analysis in study one. The second study was grounded through Vignette experiments to analyze the effects of the degree of gamified features on the continued usage of M-payments. Results: The results reported that behavioral intention to adopt, and usage of mobile payments are significantly mediated by gamified features and gamified features are partially mediating continuance usage of M-payments. Trust is the key to enabling continuance usage amongst the users of M-payments. These findings extend the understanding of users’ continuance intention in the context of payments apps. Conclusion: This study would be helpful in presenting insights for the M-payments service providers and the associated banks to develop strategy for the continuance usage of mobile payment apps.

After Apple suspended the use of the Apple Pay application for bank cards of international payment systems Visa and Mastercard for residents of Russia in March 2022 and Google (Google Pay) and Samsung (Samsung Pay) followed suit, settlements by QR-codes became a real alternative for making payments using smartphones. The article discusses the technical and legal aspects of making payments using QR-codes. The author showed, that payment using a QR-code is not a form of non-cash payments. By its legal nature, a QR-code is a machine-readable form of submitting a payment order to pay a certain amount of funds by the payer to their recipient, using the recipient’s details, «encrypted» in this code. Therefore, payment by QR-code is carried out as part of payments by payment orders.

Abstract:
In line with the trend of increasing state expenditure payments, the government uses a digital system to carry out cashless-based payments. The digital system provides advantages in the effectiveness of state expenditure payments to the payee and supports the efficiency of state financial management. One of the digital systems used is the Digital Payment application developed by the Directorate General of Treasury. This study aims to review the use of the Digital Payment application in making non-cash payments to payees (suppliers) in the 2019-2021 period. This study used a qualitative method with literature study techniques and interviews with several informants. The results of this study indicate that the use of Digital Payment in non-cash-based payments is quite effective. Even so, there are still obstacles to the mindset, system flexibility, and human resources so the application has not been implemented optimally. To improve quality, it is necessary to improve the DigiPay application and continuous outreach to MSMEs and work unit treasurers. Keywords: Payment system, Digital Payment, Public Spending, Treasury

Abstract:
Objectives To characterize industry payments to otolaryngologists in 2016 versus 2014 and 2015. Study Design Cross-sectional retrospective analysis. Setting Open Payments Database. Subjects and Methods Using the Open Payments Database, we identified otolaryngologists receiving payments from industry sponsors from 2014 to 2016. We characterized the number and value of payments per physician overall and by census region, as well as by sponsor subspecialty and payment type. Study years were compared via analysis of variance and Kruskal-Wallis tests. Trends in payments to otolaryngologists were compared with trends in 21 other specialties. Results Payment to otolaryngologists increased 67% from 2014 to 2016—from $8.7 million in 2014 to $9.9 and $14.5 million in 2015 and 2016, respectively ( P < .001). While mean payment per compensated otolaryngologist increased ($1095, $1243, and $1834 in 2014, 2015, and 2016, respectively, P < .001), median payments stayed relatively constant ($169, $165, and $172), suggesting an increasingly unequal distribution. Much of the increase is accounted for by an increased number of payments for consulting fees and physician ownership. Most payments were made by companies specializing in rhinology. Otolaryngology received the lowest industry compensation per physician among the surgical specialties examined and lower compensation than most nonsurgical specialties. The increase in payments to otolaryngologists was proportionally greater than all but 1 of the other 21 specialties examined. Conclusions Industry compensation to otolaryngologists is increasing and increasingly unequal, although it is still less than that in most other specialties. In otolaryngology, the Open Payments Database has not decreased physician-industry relationships as intended.

Abstract:
ObjectivesLimited evidence is available regarding the financial relationships between gastroenterologists and pharmaceutical companies in Japan. This study analysed the magnitude, prevalence and trends of personal payments made by major pharmaceutical companies to board-certified gastroenterologists in Japan in recent years.DesignCross-sectional analysisSetting and participantsUsing payment data publicly disclosed by 92 major pharmaceutical companies, this study examined the non-research payments made to all board-certified gastroenterologists by the Japanese Society of Gastroenterology.Primary and secondary outcome measuresThe primary outcomes were payment amounts, the prevalence of gastroenterologists receiving payments, yearly trends in per-gastroenterologist payment values and the number of gastroenterologists with payments. Additionally, we evaluated the differences in payments among influential gastroenterologists, including clinical practice guideline authors, society board member gastroenterologists and other general gastroenterologists.ResultsApproximately 52.8% of all board-certified gastroenterologists received a total of US$89 151 253, entailing 134 249 payment contracts as the reimbursement for lecturing, consulting and writing, from 84 pharmaceutical companies between 2016 and 2019. The average and median payments per gastroenterologist were US$7670 (SD: US$26 842) and US$1533 (IQR: US$582–US$4781), respectively. The payment value per gastroenterologist did not significantly change during the study period, while the number of gastroenterologists with payments decreased by −1.01% (95% CI: −1.61% to −0.40%, p<0.001) annually. Board member gastroenterologists (median: US$132 777) and the guideline authoring gastroenterologists (median: US$106 069) received 29.9 times and 17.3 times higher payments, respectively, than general gastroenterologists (median: US$284).ConclusionMost gastroenterologists received personal payments from pharmaceutical companies, but only very few influential gastroenterologists with authority accepted substantial amounts in Japan. There should be transparent and rigorous management strategies for financial conflicts of interest among gastroenterologists working in influential positions.

The concept of "common policy" faithfully reflects one of the defining features of the Common Agricultural Policy. Currently, CAP is built around two pillars: Pillar I- Agriculture and Pillar II- Rural Development. The main way to support agriculture is represented by direct payments. The Regulation (EU) 1307/2013 establishing rules for direct payments to farmers during the programming period 2014-2020 provides uniform payment schemes applicable in all Member States. Some of these schemes are compulsory (such as basic payment scheme or single payment area; payment scheme for farmers using agricultural practices beneficial for the climate and environment), others are optional, leaving it to countries if they want to apply these schemes or not. The proposals for payment schemes applicable in Romania during the period 2015-2020 are: Single Area Payment Scheme (SAPS); Payments for Agricultural Practices Beneficial for the Climate and the Environment; Redistributive Payment; Payments for Young Farmers; Transitional National Aids and Simplified Scheme for Small Farmers.

Motor vehicle tax is one of the contributors to the tax sector so that its handling must be truly optimal so that tax absorption can run optimally. The One-Stop Manunggal Administration Service Office as an institution that handles motor vehicle tax revenue, tries as much as possible to innovate by making new breakthroughs using information technology, namely by bringing up an e-payment tax payment system that aims to facilitate taxpayers in carrying out their obligations to pay motor vehicle taxes. Whether or not the use of the e-payment system in tax payments is effective is an interesting thing to research, namely by comparing direct tax payments with e-payment tax payments. The research method used is descriptive-comparative with data sourced from reports from the West Java Province Regional Revenue Office in the form of direct motor vehicle tax payments (cash) and e-payment. Based on the results of the study, it is known that there is an increase in motor vehicle tax revenue and the comparative test results obtained are different for direct motor vehicle tax payments (cash) with e-payment.

Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to investigate the association between FinTech payments and consumer financial satisfaction with cashless payments using data from the 2017 China Household Finance Survey. This study defines computer payment and mobile terminal payment using a cell phone or pad as payments with FinTech. The results indicate that payments with FinTech are positively associated with financial satisfaction with cashless payments. Furthermore, this result holds in the eastern and central groups of China, but not in the western group, where payments with FinTech are not associated with financial satisfaction with cashless payments. Similarly, the positive association does not hold for consumers with low financial literacy. Moreover, analyses on the mediating effects imply that payments with FinTech play roles through three perceived mediators. Specifically, payments with FinTech help increase consumers’ perceived convenience and perceived popularity as well as reduce perceived risk, which eventually improves financial satisfaction with cashless payments. These findings have implications for consumer policymakers, such as improving the development of FinTech, noticing the heterogeneity in terms of location, and guiding consumers to correctly understand the risks associated with FinTech. Surrounding this issue, future studies may also explore other mediators related to psychology and expand the connotation of Fintech from payments with FinTech to lending and portfolio investments with FinTech.

Abstract:
This research highlights how gender shapes consumer payments in pay-what-you-want contexts. Four studies involving hypothetical and real payments show that men typically pay less than women in pay-what-you-want settings, due to gender differences in agentic versus communal orientation. Men approach the payment decision with an agentic orientation, and women approach it with a communal orientation. These orientations then shape payment motives and ultimately affect payment behavior. Because agentic men are more self-focused, their payment decisions are motivated by economic factors, resulting in lower payments. Conversely, communal women are more other-focused, and their payment decisions are motivated by both social and economic factors, resulting in higher payments. The findings additionally highlight how sellers can use marketing communications to increase the salience of social payment motives and demonstrate that by doing so, marketers can increase how much men pay without altering how much women pay in pay-what-you-want settings.

Abstract:
The Lightning Network (LN) is one of the most promising off-chain scaling solutions for Bitcoin, as it enables off-chain payments which are not subject to the well-known blockchain scalability limit. In this work, we introduce CLoTH, a simulator for HTLC payment networks (of which LN is the best working example). It simulates input-defined payments on an input-defined HTLC network and produces performance measures in terms of payment-related statistics (such as time to complete payments and probability of payment failure). CLoTH helps to predict issues and obstacles that might emerge in the development stages of an HTLC payment network and to estimate the effects of an optimisation action before deploying it. We conducted simulations on a recent snapshot of the HTLC payment network of LN. These simulations allowed us to identify network and payments configurations for which a payment is more likely to fail than to succeed. We proposed viable solutions to avoid such configurations.

Abstract:
The tuition payment system at AL-WAFI Kindergarten is still done manually, that is, recording is done using a tuition payment notebook. Which can cause errors in recording SPP payment data or mistakes in calculating SPP payments, the process of recording and making SPP payment reports takes a long time. Several other problems were also found that were often complained about, namely the difficulty of collecting separate SPP payment data in several financial books. This slows down the payment process, recording and reporting payments. This causes the process related to SPP payments to not run optimally. To overcome all the problems above, the author proposes to design and build supporting applications such as database systems so that processing of tuition payments is more effective and efficient, and can also simplify operational activities in schools. This system was designed and built using the PHP (Hypertext Preprocessor) programming language and MYSQL as the database.

Abstract:
Category: Other Introduction/Purpose: The establishment of the Open Payments Database (OPD) in 2014 made public all financial payments to physicians and hospitals by pharmaceutical and medical device companies. Since then, numerous studies have analyzed industry payment data to elucidate any correlations and trends. The purpose of this study is to examine trends in industry payments to orthopedic foot and ankle surgeons from 2014 to 2018. Methods: The Open Payments Database (OPD) was queried to collect information regarding industry payments to orthopedic foot and ankle surgeons and all orthopedic surgeons from 2014 to 2018. Information was collected on physician education, regional distribution of physicians paid, number of physicians paid, median payment amount, and payment type. Further analyses were conducted on the median payment amount to the top 5% of earners and the other 95%. Median amounts were analyzed using Mann-Whitney U non-parametric tests. Results: Of the 1,416 physicians classified as orthopedic foot and ankle surgeons, Doctors of Osteopathy and Medical Doctors received significantly higher payments than Doctors of Podiatric Medicine (597 vs. 35, P=9x10-113). Only osteopathic and allopathic physicians were included in the main analyses. No significant difference was reported from 2014 to 2018 in the median payments to orthopedic foot and ankle surgeons overall ($616 vs. $810; P=0.13), in the top 5% ($148,864 vs. $158,349; P=0.53), and other 95% ($542 vs. $730; P=0.10). There was no significant difference in payments related to consulting fees, entertainment, food and beverages, gifts, grants, honoraria, royalty and licensing fees, speaker and faculty fees, and travel and lodging. There was a significant increase in industry payments related to education ($750 vs. $1370; P=0.002). Conclusion: Following the establishment of the Open Payments Database in 2014, it was expected that industry payments would decrease significantly. However, no change was seen in payments to orthopedic foot and ankle surgeons and there remains a very large distribution in surgeon compensation. In fact, the top 5% of surgeons compensated account for over 99% of the total industry payments. While there are many factors that could account for this, foot and ankle surgeons should use data extracted from the OPD as a guide to ensure fair and equitable compensation for their work in industry.

Abstract:
74 Background: The Open Payments program was enacted to increase transparency of the financial relationships between physicians and the pharmaceutical industry. We examined the non-research related financial relationships between urologists and industry in the US using the 2014 Open Payments data as it pertains to payments associated with drugs used in the treatment of urologic cancers. Methods: A descriptive analysis of the Open Payments data released by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services for 2014 was performed. The total payment amount associated with medications prescribed by urologists to treat urologic malignancies was calculated. Results: For drugs associated with all urologic cancers, 44,200 payments, totaling $4,693,561, were made to 5666 urologists. Approximately 82% of payments (76% of the financial value) associated with urologic cancers were for prostate cancer. Of these, payments were primarily associated with anti-androgen therapy ($2,803,435, 79%), followed by hormonal therapy ($672,342, 19%) and chemotherapy ($63,693, 2%). Payments were most commonly in the form of food and beverage (90%), but were only 18% (0.8M) of the total payment amount. Janssen Scientific Affairs reported the largest proportional value of financial ties (24% or 1.1M) but this only accounted for 3% of the number of payments. Conclusions: Nearly 66% of urologists have received a non-research related payment associated with a urologic cancer drug from industry in 2014. Payments associated with prostate cancer drugs were largest in sum and frequency, and consisted largely of payments associated with anti-androgen therapy. This likely coincides with the fact that urologists predominantly prescribe anti-androgens and the recent FDA approval of newer anti-androgens within the last decade.

Abstract:
ABSTRACTThis paper discusses the gain in efficiency from including deforestation risk as a targeting criterion in payments for environmental services (PES) programs. We contrast two payment schemes that we simulate using data from Mexican common property forests: a flat payment scheme with a cap on allowable hectares per enrollee, similar to the program implemented in many countries, and a payment that takes deforestation risk and heterogeneity in land productivity into account. We simulate the latter strategy both with and without a budget constraint. Using observed past deforestation, we find that while risk-targeted payments are far more efficient, capped flat payments are more egalitarian. We also consider the characteristics of communities receiving payments from both programs. We find that the risk-weighted scheme results in more payments to poor communities, and that these payments are more efficient than those made to non-poor ejidos. Finally, we show that the risk of deforestation can be predicted quite precisely with indicators that are easily observable and that cannot be manipulated by the community.

Digital payments have changed people's financial behavior, particularly in Asian countries. The expansion of the internet network and the intensification of gadget functions have grown digital payment systems in mobile payments, internet banking, QR Codes, and electronic payments. Using a Systematic Literature Review, the study examined various Scopus articles from Asian countries to obtain an overview of the factors that influence the adoption of digital payments. We analyzed 597 digital, electronic, and mobile payment articles. TAM and UTAUT were found to be the most widely found theories to significantly affect user intent and even the continuity of digital payment use. While in the method, the structural equation model becomes the most widely used analytical method in various scientific publications related to this topic. This study has found internal and external factors from users in the adoption process of digital payments, including trust, perceived risk, satisfaction, security social influences, and facilitation conditions. Interestingly, some of these factors were insignificant in some studies due to differences in digital payment products that were the object of the study, respondents, and differences in research methods and approaches.

Abstract:
<p>Purpose of the article: The aim of the paper was to show connections between the instruments of cashless payments and economic growth. The goal was to find the answers to the following research questions: What is the current share of payments with the use of particular forms of cashless payments in total payments?; What forms of cashless payments are connected with economic growth measured by real GDP per capita in the group of countries of Central and Eastern Europe and Western Europe?; What is the relation between the value of cashless payments and economic growth measured by real GDP per capita in the group of countries of Central and Eastern Europe and Western Europe?</p><p>Research methods: Spearman’s rank correlation.</p><p>Research results: The authors have found that the highest share in terms of the number of payments in total payments in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe constituted payments with the use of payment cards, then, the payments with the use of a transfer order. Whereas, in the countries of Western Europe, apart from the fact that high percentage of payments in total constituted payments with the use of payment cards and transfer orders, more and more payments are made with the use of the instruments of e-money. Examining mutual relationships, information about correlational connections that occur between economic growth measured by GDP per capita and value of payments with the use of some instruments of cashless payments was obtained. The main conclusion that can be drawn after data analysis is positive relationships between the value of payments with the use of a transfer order, payment card and economic growth found both in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and the countries of Western Europe. In the countries of Western Europe, the payments with the use of a direct debit turned out to be insignificant, whereas the payments with the use of instruments of e-money were signifiant. Taking into account the force of relationships, it can be said that higher positive correlation is shown by the value of payments with the use of a transfer order with reference to real GDP per capita in the countries of Western Europe (0.80). In the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, it is only 0.48. Mutual connections between the value of payments with the use of payment cards and economic growth are similar in both groups of countries. What is interesting, high impact on real GDP per capita – about 0.80 – is shown by the payments with the use of instruments of e-money. This study may represent a contribution to further research, that is, an analysis of cause-and-effect relationships in the field of cashless payments and economic growth, including division of countries in terms of, for example, the level of wealth.</p><p>Added value: Analysis of current literature on the impact of cashless payments on economic growth and an empirical analysis.</p>

Abstract:
With the development of the internet and mobile payment technology, the mobile payment transaction volume in China is rising year by year. Likewise, an increasing number of people are using mobile payments for their convenience and stability. In recent years, however, security incidents involving these mobile payments have also occurred more frequently. Some lawbreakers have been known to add illegal information to QR codes so that the mobile phones of unwitting customers are infected with viruses when they scan the codes to make payments. These viruses result in losses of personal property. In view of this, we propose an optimized secure payment solution for QR code scanning based on Operating-payment dual devices. This sets a separation of the payment process by utilizing both an operating device and a payment device, so as to minimize losses when customers scan malware-infected QR codes. Through theoretical analysis, our proposed solution can effectively improve the security of QR code payments, and meet the requirements for secure payment in daily life.

Abstract: The payments industry is changing as a result of mobile payments. These services give non-banking actors a way to break into the sector. Banks, who are already involved in the traditional payments sector, must provide mobile payments in order to meet this threat. Right now, we're in a digital era. India is about to see a significant digital revolution. The increasing connectivity that the Internet provides in today's society has altered the way that money is exchanged. The use of several technologies, including smartphones, computers, iPads, tablets, and the internet, has advanced dramatically in India. Smartphones and government initiatives like Digital India are acting as catalysts for the exponential growth in the use of digital payment as a result of the increase in internet users. In India, efforts are being made to switch to electronic payments. A digital payment system is one that processes payments through digital channels and an electronic network. Every transaction involving digital payments is completed online. It is a speedy and useful way to pay. With the aim of promoting cashless transactions and turning the Indian economy into a digital one, a number of digital payment options are available, including banking cards, USSD, UPI, AEPS, mobile wallets, POS terminals, Micro- ATMs, the internet, mobile banking, and BHIM.

Abstract:
Payment system in India has undergone a dramatic change in recent years. The payment through cards, using both debit and credit cards, is one of the early innovations in the modern payment system in the country. Several intermediaries are involved in the effective functioning of card payment mechanism. As a result, the card payment infrastructure has grown remarkably well across India. The volume of payments made through these devices as well as the value of card payments increased rapidly in the last two decades. Among the commercial banks, the State Bank of India dominates in the maintenance of ATM infrastructure, the issue of cards and in the volume and value of card transaction. The private sector banks dominate in the installation of POS terminals and HDFC bank tops in the POS credit card transaction. However, the recent trend shows that the transaction through cards as a percentage of total retail electronic payments has been declining in India, as other retail payments platforms have become popular.

Abstract:
Along with today's rapid technological developments, the application of information systems to support business processes will be beneficial in operational activities within an institution. To be able to manage payment transactions for Education Development Contributions (SPP) better, it is necessary to build an Information System that can help manage data and transactions to be optimal. Therefore we need a payment information system that can facilitate SMA Negeri 1 Palangka Raya in dealing with the payment of tuition fees that are not yet optimal. In this study, a tuition payment information system was created that could be used for recording tuition data, cash, and non-cash payments, as well as informing parents/guardians of students about tuition payments and invoices. This study uses the Waterfall software development method which has stages of analysis, design, program code generation, testing, and maintenance. Non-cash payments and Whatsapp message delivery on applications use features on Midtrans and Whatsapp API. Unit testing is carried out using the Blackbox method. Based on the results of the research, it was found that this tuition payment information system could facilitate the school and students. The SPP Payment Information System is used as a means of managing SPP payment data for schools, non-cash SPP payments for parents, and information on SPP payments for both.

Abstract:
Abstract Understanding the demand for cash and noncash payment methods is an important policy concern in Japan, as the Japanese government aims at a cashless economy. Previous studies show that the demand for specific payment methods depends not only on the motivations of the kind of transactions, such as day-to-day transactions or hoarding, but also on payment contexts, such as bill payments or online payments. However, a few studies have investigated the demand for payment methods by payment context in Japan. We fill this gap by examining Japanese family and single-person household data on the choice of cash and noncash payment methods for regular payments, including bill payments. We found a decreasing popularity of choices involving automatic withdrawals and an increasing popularity of choices involving credit cards in both data sets and that of choosing exclusively cash in the single-person households’ data. We also found that these changes are associated with a decreasing demand for cash in family households and, conversely, an increasing demand in single-person households, assuming that the current pace of gradual adoption of noncash payment methods continues. In promoting a cashless society, the Japanese government should pay attention to the finding that a more frequent use of credit cards for regular payments is not always associated with a decrease in the demand for cash.

Abstract:
In the context of the rapid growth of international cash flows under the influence of globalization and digitalization of the world economy, the disadvantages of the correspondent banking network for crossborder money transfers are becoming increasingly obvious. Cross-border payments continue to be largely based on the old correspondent banking model, which has not quite benefited from the flow of innovations. New technologies have the potential to facilitate fast, low-cost, transparent and scalable payments. There is a need to modernize international payment systems and to develop alternative payment instruments based on new financial technologies. Central banks and the payments industry are considering ways to improve cross-border systems. One of the most relevant and widely discussed new payment instruments is the central bank digital currency (CBDC). А consensus has been reached in the global community on the expediency and profitability of introducing this new form of fiat money into retail payments, and a large number of countries are implementing relevant projects. In contrast, the promotion of the CBDC in the field of wholesale payments is lagging behind. However, studies confirm viability of using the CBDC in wholesale cross-border payments. A number of central banks are working on wholesale cross-border payment models, and international cooperation among central banks on wholesale CBDC, including for cross-border payments, is intensifying. The article discusses how cross-border wholesale CBDC can address challenges of the existing correspondent banking arrangement. The main purpose is to analyze the results of the most advanced international projects aimed at creating cross-border payment systems based on CBDC and distributed ledger technology. The design features of the proposed payment models, their effectiveness and potential risks are considered.

Abstract:
11050 Background: Industry partnerships offer financial incentives, prestige, and can facilitate career advancement in oncology. However, not all physicians may have equal access to these opportunities. We hypothesized that physicians who are underrepresented in the medical oncology workforce based on race, ethnicity, and gender receive less industry funding. Methods: All US medical oncologists (MOs) who received ≥1 industry research payment between 2016 and 2020 according to the Open Payments database were included in this retrospective study. Information extracted from Open Payments included MO’s name, institution, research payments (i.e. funding for a research project where the physician is a Principle Investigator), and general payments (i.e. fees not associated with research, such as consulting and travel fees). Additional web searches were conducted using institutional websites, NPPES NPI registry, LinkedIn, Doximity, Scopus, and NIH RePORTER to determine each MO’s race, ethnicity, sex, academic rank, degrees, h-index, institutional NIH research funding rank, and individual receipt of NIH funding. Log-linear regression was performed to identify associations of both industry and general payment data. Results: Of 7,542 physicians meeting inclusion criteria, 69% were male, 65% White, 29% Asian, 2% Black, and 4% Hispanic, which is comparable to the American Medical Association Physician Masterfile figures for MO. The median sum research payment and general payment was $134,857 and $11,537 per physician respectively. Significantly higher mean research payments were associated with an MS (+72%; P = 0.003) or PhD degree (+30%; P = 0.009), h-index (+3%; P < 0.001), top 50 institution rank by NIH funding (+44%; P < 0.001), and associate professor rank (+95%; P < 0.001). Significantly lower mean research payment were observed for Black physicians (-36%; P = 0.022) and those with non-academic affiliation (-47%; P < 0.001). No significant association was observed between sex and research payment. Significantly higher mean general payments were associated with male sex (+46%; P < 0.001), MS degree (+171%; P < 0.001), h-index (+2%; P < 0.001), and Asian race (+72%; P < 0.001). Significantly lower mean general payments were associated with an affiliation with a non-academic practice (-31%; P = 0.012). Conclusions: Black physicians received smaller sums of industry research payments compared to White physicians. Female sex was associated with decreased general payments compared to male sex. Further exploring the underlying mechanisms determining access to industry payments may help facilitate greater equity and inclusivity in oncology.
