Abstract:
ABSTRACT The first three enzymes of the pentachlorophenol (PCP) degradation pathway in Sphingobium chlorophenolicum (formerly Sphingomonas chlorophenolica) ATCC 39723 have been characterized, and the corresponding genes, pcpA, pcpB, and pcpC, have been individually cloned and sequenced. To search for new genes involved in PCP degradation and map the physical locations of the pcp genes, a 24-kb fragment containing pcpA and pcpC was completely sequenced. A putative LysR-type transcriptional regulator gene, pcpM, and a maleylacetate reductase gene, pcpE, were identified upstream of pcpA. pcpE was

ABSTRACTPrevious studies have suggested that pneumococcal choline binding protein A (PcpA) is important for the full virulence ofStreptococcus pneumoniae, and its amino acid sequence suggests that it may play a role in cellular adherence. PcpA is under the control of a manganese-dependent regulator and is only expressed at low manganese concentrations, similar to those found in the blood and lungs. PcpA expression is repressed under high manganese concentrations, similar to those found in secretions. In this study, we have demonstrated that PcpA elicits statistically significant protection in

Abstract:
Existing fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP) methods usually aggregate the fuzzy pairwise comparison results produced by multiple decision-makers (DMs) rather than the fuzzy weights estimations. This is problematic because fuzzy pairwise comparison results are subject to uncertainty and lack consensus. To address this problem, a partial-consensus posterior-aggregation FAHP (PCPA-FAHP) approach is proposed in this study. The PCPA-FAHP approach seeks a partial consensus among most DMs instead of an overall consensus among all DMs, thereby increasing the possibility of reaching a consensus. S

This diploma thesis deals with the design and implementation of an application suitable for the anonymization of PCAP files. The thesis presents TCP/IP model and for each layer highlights attributes that can be used to identify real people or organizations. Some of the anonymization methods suitable to modify highlighted attributes and sensitive data are described. The implemented application uses TShark tool to parse byte data of PCAP format to JSON format that is used in the application. TShark supports lots of network protocols which allows the application to anonymize various attributes.

PcrA is a DNA helicase involved in unwinding plasmi ds as a part of a complex in asymmetric rolling - circle replication of certain plasmids carrying antibiotic resistance genes. PcrA translocates on single stranded DNA by coupling ATP hydrolysis to movement on DNA. Initiator protein, RepD is required to nick supercoiled plasmid site - specifically and open an ssDNA stretch that PcrA can bind. The presence of RepD is needed throughout plasmid unwinding to maintain processivity. Abstract:
The increase in the availability of mental health services in primary care settings in large health systems is a positive development for suicide prevention, but challenges remain. Unhelpful power asymmetries in the patient–primary care physician (PCP) relationship, supply-side economic factors, and the disease-centered (biomedical) model make it difficult for PCPs to elicit patient priorities. Thus many of the drivers of suicide risk are marginalized if not ignored in the patient–PCP encounter. Drawing from self-determination theory and systems theory, this chapter offers a person-centered vision of suicide prevention in primary care. It calls for policy initiatives to that accommodate PCPs’ needs for self-determination and outfit primary care settings with the technological and human resources needed to improve the way PCPs and patients communicate about difficult issues. These initiatives are expected to mitigate suicide risk and improve other patient outcomes as well as PCP job satisfaction.

When it was activated by thrombin, the PCLA substance prolonged the activated partial thromboplastin time(aPTT). The activated PCLA substance also hydrolyzed synthetic substrates such as S2238, S2366 and S2266,while the PCLA substance was not cross reacted with anti-protein C serum(Behring Manheim). The PCLA substance was adsorbed by both aluminium hydroxide gel and barium sulfate. The level of Km, optimum pH and optimum I.S. in the amido-lytic reaction w

Abstract:
Prothrombinase is the multi -component enzyme composed of factor Xa and the cofactor, factor Va, that assemble on a phospholipid surface in the presence of calcium ion. Fluoresence stopped-flow kinetic studies of prothrombinase assembly in the absence of the substrate, prothrombin were undertaken at saturating concentrations of calcium ion, using phospholipid vesicles (PCPS), factor Va and factor Xa modified at the active-site with the fluorophore dansyl-glutamylglycinylarginylchloro methylketone (DEGR-Xa). The substantial fluorescence enhancement of DEGR-Xa in the presence of factor Va, PCPS

Abstract:
Over 50% stroke is related to the cerebral artery stenosis. The most common position is in the Circle of Willis (CoW), which is composed of a single anterior communicating artery (ACoA), paired anterior cerebral arteries (ACA), paired middle cerebral arteries (MCA), internal carotid arteries (ICA), posterior communicating arteries (PCoA) and posterior cerebral arteries (PCA). Detailed knowledge of the cerebral hemodynamics is important for a variety of clinical applications [1]. There has been a significant body of research performed on blood flow in the CoW [1,2] treating the cerebral vascula
