Abstract The slab beneath the Alboran Sea is a consequence of the collision between two continents (Europe and Africa), which was initiated along the northeastern Spanish coast, experienced slab rollback and migrated to the area adjacent to the two continents. The tectonic background in this area includes episodes of collisions with adjacent continents as well as extension of those basins in the western Mediterranean. Here, we present three-dimensional (3D) Kirchhoff-approximate generalized Radon transform (GRT) images to further constrain the lithospheric structures previously identified by o

For this purpose, seven samples of a profile steel sheet–dry board deck slab (PSSDB/PDS) carried by a steel cold-formed C-purlins beam (CB) were prepared and named “composite CBPDS specimen”, which were tested under a static bending load. A semi-slab of precast concrete (or half-slab) is a structural system that consists of concrete at the bottom half of a slab and concrete cast in situ at the top. To avoid traditional formwork and minimize the bottom half of the slab, this section can function as formwork and reduce the thickness of precast slabs, which makes their transportation easy. The interface between precast and overtopping concrete is effective for the slab system's performance. To improve the half-slab floor system, it is needed to have a shear connector (stirrups). The rail pad stiffness is one of key design parameters of the track structure, affecting the load distribution along the rail and the dynamic behavior of the track. The rail pad stiffness, however, can be increased under accumulated train load and environmental load, i.e., temperature change, due to the nature of resilient rubber. This study investigates the causes and prediction model of the stiffness increase of the resilient rail pads used in the ballasted and concrete slab track in high-speed railway. For this purpose, in-situ rail pads were taken from several sites, and the static and dyn
