Background: Lung cancer is the most common cancer incidence wise as well as leading cause of cancer related death in worldwide as well as in India. Cytological diagnosis plays an important role in patients having lung cancer. This study was conducted to evaluate sensitivity of various cytological methods in diagnosis of lung cancer, to study typing of lung cancer, age and gender wise distribution of lung cancer and its association with smoking.Methods: This study includes patients having clinical and radiological diagnosis of lung cancer. Vaginal cytology is the most common method of monitoring the estrous cycle in rats; however, this test requires specific technical training and can be subject to interpretation. Vaginal impedance offers a quicker and less technically challenging alternative and has been used successfully to identify estrus in normally cycling breeder rats. We hypothesize that vaginal impedance can also be used to stage the estrous cycle in rats that have been given luteinizing hormone releasing hormone (LHRH) for timed mating. Vaginal impedance measurements and vaginal cytology were performed in LHRH-primed fe

BACKGROUND Fine-needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) is an easy, minimally invasive and useful investigation, and is considered important next to imaging in the rapid diagnosis of lung neoplasm for the last few decades. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the role of image-guided FNAC in pulmonary neoplasm, analyse the results and correlate with cell block histopathological findings. METHODS This is a cross sectional study conducted over a period of two years, involving fifty patients. All the clinical and radiological data were studied from the consenting patient. Background An ever-increasing number of people are involved in sport activities at high altitude. Objective This study aimed to evaluate the pulmonary and nasal functions, including nasal cytology, in healthy volunteers moving for 1 week from an altitude of 2000 m to another of 3400 m. Methods Peak nasal inspiratory flow (PNIF), pulmonary function, including peak expiratory flow (PEF), mucociliary transport time (MCTt), nasal cytology, and oxygen saturation (O2 sat) were studied in 5 different occasions—T1: at base camp (2000 m); T2: at the mountain refuge (3400 m); T3: after 7 days at 3400 m;

Fruit development in apple cultivars varying in their ultimate fruit size was analyzed using cytology, flow cytometry (FCM), and semi-quantitative RT-PCR. Fruit size variation across cultivars was largely explained by variation in cell number. The cell division phase lasted for less than 30 days in all varieties, less than previously believed. A distinct overlap between the cell division and cell expansion phases was present. Analysis of the relative cell production rate (rCPR) showed a major peak about 10 days after full bloom (DAFB) after which it declined. Comparison of the rCPR across vari

Volatile organic compounds of exhaled breath change the conductivity of the sensor, the resulting pulse is displayed as a peak on the graph, the area of which is used as test results. The recent COVID pandemic has had a major effect on anatomic pathology specimen volumes across the country. The effect of this pandemic on a subspecialty academic practice is presented. We used a data-driven approach to monitor the changing workloads in a granular fashion and dynamically adjust the scheduling of faculty and histology staff accordingly to minimize the number of people present on-site. At the peak of the pandemic locally, the main hospital in our health system had 450 COVID-positive inpatients. The surgical pathology specimen volume dropped to 13% of the pre-pandemic levels, and

All athletes had normal urine analysis and blood pressure at rest, tested before the start of the soccer season. Fifty-eight samples were collected (T0: 20, T1: 17, T2: 21). Synthesis from UDP-($ sp{14}$C) glucose of charged lipid-linked glucosyl compounds by pea membranes was short-lived, and of very limited magnitude compared to the synthesis of 1,4- and 1,3-linked B-glucans. Lipid-linked monophosphoryl glucose was the only charged lipid formed at initial stages, and had properties similar to that of dolichol-monophosphoryl glucose. It exhibited no turnover during pulse-chase experiments. Lipid-linked pyrophosphoryl-glucose or -oligosaccharides were not detected. Coumarin inhibited the synthesis of SDS-soluble products and glucans, but not of the lipid-P-glucose
