Abstract:
A new species of crane fly, Pedicia (Pedicia) goldsworthyi, is described from eastern North America. The range of this species is extensive, from Maine to North Carolina, and broadly overlaps with the ranges of the four other regional species of Pedicia (Pedicia) Latreille. A key to males of the eastern North America species of Pedicia (Pedicia) that includes this new species is presented.

Integrative taxonomy enhances species discovery and facilitates species delimitation by combining DNA sequence data, morphology, and distributional and ecological information. In this paper we use complementary methods of morphologyand DNA barcoding to delineate species boundaries in a widespread European spring-dwelling crane-fly, Pedicia (Amalo-pis) occulta (Meigen). We describe a previously overlooked large cryptic dipteran as Pedicia (Amalopis) fusca n. sp. Three new species of the genus Pedicia, subgenus Crunobia (Diptera: Pediciidae) belonging to the staryi group are described on the basis of a combination of molecular and morphology datasets, and a key to discriminate between species of the subgenus Crunobia is added. Geographic projection of the identified taxa suggests insular-like distribution and shows the importance of the Carpathians as a genetic center which is home to an exceptionally high aquatic diversity in Europe.

This documentary film tells the story of Mohammad in India, and Mike in the United States, who are separated by social, economic, cultural, linguistic and religious differences, and yet there is an inanimate object that connects them-the rickshaw. The film examines how rickshaw men are viewed and treated by the society they live in and also illuminates the threads of commonality between these two men to show that they are not so different from each other after all.

Abstract:
Displacement can occur for a variety of reasons, including pedicle screw detachment from the spine, damaged pedicle screws, the supporting rod detaching from the pedicle screw, and broken supporting rods. The relationship between displacement and screw threads indicates that the displacement of the screw is a measure of thread movement, and the smaller the pitch (the space between the two screw threads), the lower the displacement of the screw. Results from a normal bone simulation using MSC-Marc show that variations in pedicle screws under tensile load result in a displacement of 5.53x10-5 mm

Long posterior fusion constructs in the lumbar spine cause substantial posteriorly directed loading of the supporting pedicle screws, particularly during patient bending activities. The Problem: Abscission is a highly regulated process, occurring as a natural terminal stage of development, in which various organs are separated from the parent plant. In most plant species, the process is initiated by a decrease in active auxin in the abscission zone (AZ) and an increase in ethylene, and may be accelerated by postharvest or environmental stresses. Another potential key regulator in abscission is IDA (Inflorescence Deficient in Abscission), which was identified as an essential peptide signal for floral organ abscission in Arabidopsis. Abstract:
Original objectives: Understanding the regulation of abscission competence by exploring the nature and function of auxin-related gene expression changes in the leaf and pedicelAZs of tomato (as a model system), was the main goal of the previously submitted proposal. We proposed to achieve this goal by using microarray GeneChip analysis, to identify potential target genes for functional analysis by virus-induced gene silencing (VIGS). To increase the potential of accomplishing the objectives of the previously submitted proposal, we were asked by BARD to show feasibility for the use of these two
