Abstract:
The focus of this paper is to develop and test a modified design of the conventional parallel flow channel configuration in a proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cell. One of the main objectives in designing flow channel configurations is to achieve a uniform distribution of reactants across the catalyst layer of the membrane electrode assembly of the fuel cell. Uniform reactant distribution promotes an even current density distribution, and enhances power output and overall cell performance. A simple method for visualizing the flow distribution is used to study the flow distribution in the fl

There have been great strides in recent years in the shift from conventional Internal Combustion Engine Vehicles (ICEVs) because of the deteriorating effects the fossil fuels they use have on the environment. Although lithium-ion battery electric vehicles (EVs) address some of these environmental problems, they do not appear to be a promising alternative because of their limited range, long charging duration, and the negative effects resulting from the production and disposal of their batteries. Demand for hydrogen vehicles has therefore increased over the years. This is because, since they us

Abstract This dissertation is focused on investigation of comparative evaluation of structure, composition and electrochemical performance of new electrocatalysts approach Platinum (Pt) supported on metal oxides which are specifically Titanium suboxide and Titanium nanotube suboxide (TNTS). The Pt/MOx (M: Nb, Ti, Mn, Cu and Ni…) and Pt/TixO2x-1 with intrinsic electrocatalytic activity, conductivity and excellent stability are studied in acidic media toward the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and methanol oxidation reaction (MOR). Specifically, a Pt thin layer (monolayer) is homogeneously depo
