Full textThe aim of my PhD was to study the perception of two musical dimensions : pitch (i. E. , harmonic relation between tones) and time (i. E. , rhythm and meter). Numerous research has been interested in the perception of pitch and time separately but only few have focused on their joint processing. The independence or interaction of pitch and time processing as well as their underlying neuronal networks involved have been studied in my PhD. In a first part, using a behavioral approach of cognitive psychology in healthy listeners, three experiments studied influence of the level of processing and the material used on the processing of pitch and time dimensions. The findings suggest that the independent or interactive processing of pitch and time depends on the level of processing: in the first levels, the two dimensions seem to be processed independently but interact at later levels of processing in integration. In a second part, using a neuropsychological approach, we analyzed neural networks implicated in the processing of pitch and time. Cerebellar patients showed to be impaired in the perception of the time dimension but not for the pitch dimension. A study, with healthy listeners, concluded that the pitch dimension would be rather processed by the right hemisphere whereas no hemispheric advantage was observed for the time dimension. The findings of the studies are discussed in a neuropsychological model to explain the different stages of the processing of pitch and time

Full textTeaching music in school academies has always been a recurrent issue. Is art meant to serve the learners' purpose or conversely, do learners have to comply to the rules of art ? There seems to be no clearcut decision that could close this debate. Since they have to face such a contradiction, learners, teachers and institution seem to be in a paradoxical and antinomic position which makes it hard to settle the matter. How can they solve such a dilemma ? With this aim in view, we will question music itself, using a play on words about the "säs" of music, something between the sense and the essence of music. We will study the sense of music through its three different meanings: its very meaning as regards language, its perspective as regards sociology, its sensation as regards phenomenology. Will this research, by giving some meaning to music, enable us unravel the paradoxical situations generated by music ? In a second part, we will attempt to get as close as possible to music by laying its sound on paper exactly like the written form (le säs) which perfectly renders the music heard in the words "sense" and "essence". For this purpose, we will translate the recording of a piano lesson into a score and we will attempt to reveal what is being woven between a teacher and his pupil. How do these two persons hear the music through the song of the piano ? And finally, we will unexpectedly find out that the musician's paradox can be solved through the practice of improvisation, thein-between, essential to expression and interpretation. In a sense, the essence of music might be hidden in the dephs of improvisation?
Nefzi, Ayoub. "Perception de la qualité et fidelité : le cas du secteur hôtelier en Tunisie." Nice, 2007. http://www.theses.fr/2007NICE0005.
Full textOur research tries to carry a critical glance on a rather abundant literature as regards loyalty. It proposes as objective to widen this prospect thanks to integration of concepts and the bringing together of theories and approaches which are generally treated separately. This thesis seeks to show that in order to consider loyalty in the context of a consumption of experiential nature, it is necessary to change the framework of analysis. The objective is to go beyond the vision reducing consumption to an instantaneous act towards a more global solution presenting consumption as an experiment lived by the consumer before, during and after the physical act of consumption. We try to study up to what point the perception of quality (particularly the service quality) allows to explain the force of the relation binding a consumer to his service supplier. Our approach of perceived quality tries to lay the stress on the complementarity of the cognitivist and experiential paradigms. It is a question of studying and checking the validity of a complex network of theoretical relations thus breaking with the behavioural approaches largely developed in marketing. Then, we try, through an empirical study, to test the validity of the relations highlighted in the literature within the framework of an experiment of consumption of a hotel service

Full textIn the 20th century, music has experienced rapid growth in the orient as well as in the occident. And, in the Mashreq, musicians, thanks to the phonograph, the cinema and the radio, have been able to hear western music in their daily lives. The notion has taken root that this music could add new elements and improve the style of traditional music. Western influences were welcome by those who thought that occidentalization of music would counter the stagnation into which traditional music has fallen. The way in which the influence was exerted differed from country within the mashreq. This work outlines the course of this evolution. The most important factor is the adaptation of European polyphony to Arab music. The present work tries to answer a question: is this musical style primarily a source of enrichment, or is it fundamentally in contradiction with the essence of traditional music? In addition to exploring the problems of acculturation, this research explores the repertory of the ud through a study of taqasim, focusing on developments on the 20th century. This part of the study is based on the writer's personal experience as a player of the ud. The approach therefore is a personal one which is complemented by work in the field - recording the taqasim of several musicians from the syro-egyptian school at different times during the course of the writer's travels in Egypt and the Middle East. The problem of western influences on the classical music of the mashreq is examined in detail in the second part of this work. In this context, research was carried out in Egypt, Lebanon, Syria and Iraq but also in turkey. In the course of his travels, the author has had occasion to meet some musicians who are very well-known in their own countries. This has permitted him to create a sort of anthology of musical works which can serve to illustrate the evolution of musical style in this region in the 20th century

Full textBrand image is a greatly used notion in common language and in marketing. But, in spite of brand image definitions that were brought by different authors, this concept is relatively vague. In first, the objective is to clarify the concept in particular in relation to neighbouring concepts and to analyse his place in consumer behaviour. Then, this research attempts to modelize brand image perception by consumer in automotive domain. At last, a typology of consumers is realised according to automotive brand image perception

Full textThe present study aims at showing that situational factors can contribute to a better understanding of the perceived assortment variety. While perceived variety is one of the most important choice criteria of a superstore, it has not received much emphasis. Although most of the few studies in that field use the variety-seeking model and deal with the strict sense of the word “variety”, our research applies the heuristic-systematic model (Chaiken, 1980) to show that evaluation process may alternatively depend on : variety, size or both. A study of the perception process in wine department of a superstore emphasizes the role of context and situational factors on perception, regardless of assortment structure

Full textMusic and language are structurally organized materials that are based on combinatorial principles. Listeners have acquired knowledge about these structural regularities via mere exposure. This knowledge allows them to develop expectations about future events in music and language perception. My PhD investigated two aspects of domain-specificity versus generality of cognitive functions in music and language processing: perception and statistical learning. In the first part (perception), musical structure processing has been shown to influence spoken and visual language processing (Études 1 & 4), partly due to dynamic attending mechanisms (Jones, 1976). More specifically, musical structure processing has been shown to interact with linguistic-syntactic processing, but not with linguistic-semantic processing (Étude 3), thus supporting the hypothesis of shared syntactic resources for music and language processing (Patel, 2003). Together with previous studies that have investigated simultaneous musical and linguistic (syntactic and semantic) structure processing, we proposed that these shared resources might extend to the processing of other structurally organized information that require structural and temporal integration resources. This hypothesis was tested and supported by interactive influences between simultaneous musical and arithmetic structure processing (Étude 4). In the second part (learning), statistical learning was directly compared for verbal and nonverbal materials. In particular, we aimed to investigate the influence of dynamic attention driven by non-acoustic (Études 5 & 6) and acoustic (Étude 7) cues on statistical learning. Non-acoustic temporal cues have been shown to influence statistical learning of verbal and nonverbal artificial languages. In agreement with the dynamic attending theory (Jones, 1976), we proposed that non-acoustic temporal cues guide attention over time and influence statistical learning.Based on the influence of dynamic attending mechanisms on perception and learning and on evidence of shared structural and temporal integration resources for the processing of musical structures and other structured information, this PhD opens new questions about the potential influence of tonal and temporal auditory structure processing on general cognitive sequencing abilities, notably required in structured sequence perception and learning.Jones, M. Full textThe debate about the singularity of the cultural industry in the times of free trade has been happening since the Cultural Exception. The international community has been contributing to this debate through the Convention for the Promotion and Protection of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions, endorsed by the UNESCO in 2005. In parallel, the 1991 amendment to the Colombian constitution acknowledges a multiethnic and multicultural country, that is, it recognizes diversity in the nation´s cultural expressions. The third factor that influences this thesis are the technologic resources shared by music producers from the 90s. These facts made us wonder about the current situation of independent traditional music production in Colombia, the Andean Region and in the Caribbean. The theoretical framework was guided by the Critical Theory, the Political Economy, the Cultural Studies and the inputs from Latin-American authors on the relationship between Communication and Culture. The methodology used life stories in order to get to know the experience of traditional music independent producers. This thesis shows the production methods, from self-production to independent music producers. Besides, it shows the tension between independent producers and big companies, mass media and piracy. This research introduces the concept of Brotherhood Production in order to explain the relationships among musicians, producers, fans and institutions. These relationships make possible the production of independent traditional music

Full textThe purpose of this study consists in apprehending conditions of appearance and the function of a coherent and accurate spatial representation of the city. This research leans on the experimental method applied on place, and focuses on a molar unit of analysis, namely the man/environment system. The two entities of this system being culturally marked, we have operate experimental variation on cultural distance inside the system by comparing southern European students and sub-Saharian Africa students, preserving Paris, a city imbues of European culture, as the unique place of study. It's therefore in terms of familiarity, and particularly in terms of socio-spatial familiarity, that the results are interpreted. It proves that urban area has no meaning in itself. So the storage of socially elaborated meanings appears important for an accurate cognitive map of the city. Thus, differences observed, up to now, in cross-cultural comparaison of cognitive map can also come from the legibility of socio-spatial characteristics of the city. Besides, urban pratices favor storage and diversity of meanings. Nevertheless, their impact on accuracy of cognitive map reminds limited. Then spatial information has an instrumental function permitting to resolve daily problems of spatial order. But it also have a psychological function enable to increase the feeling of coherence by adjusting represented space with real space. Otherwise, the spatial information is not only a tool for activities, its contributes to the elaboration of a life-place. However, this psychological function is possible only if the spatial information fills previously an instrumental function, as Kaplan explains in his model of person/environment compatibility

Full textThe teenagers approached in this study are placed in a Social Youth Center. To extricate the adolescent from any negative representations he may feel or of which he is the object in this particular context, due both to this affectation and of a Weak parental authority, we apprehend him neither through experienced failures nor those reminded to him, but through his own personal resources. To achieve this, we invite him towards a progression through pictorial creation and the encounter of the art world, followed by a personal production of wide dimensions and its public exhibition. Photographies of works taken at each step of their realization, enables to follow and assess the process of their making and the progression of their creator. This study is completed by a focus towards understanding the personality of each youth through series of expression tests (Rey’s Figure, AT9 and Rorschach). The search for discernment and aesthetic judgment brings the adolescent to a necessary adjustment between his own individual world and other artistic sensibilities. From this confrontation emerge images which might stimulate and widen his capacity of expression and representation of experienced time, at the same time that they participate in a process of personal evolution

Full textCurrently, in the province of Québec, Canada, 90 to 120 out of 10,000 individuals have been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The literature contains many different definitions of ASD. Despite communication challenges, individuals with ASD show strengths in terms of receptive language, and particularly auditory processing. According to many authors, children with ASD find it easier to process nonverbal stimuli (e.g., musical sounds) than verbal stimuli (e.g., language). Moreover, autistic children appear to have exceptional innate musical abilities. Music education is therefore a promising avenue for promoting language abilities in preschoolers with ASD. However, to our knowledge, only three music education studies to date have addressed autistic preschoolers. Yet, the results show improved communication abilities. However, none of these studies examined social interactions. Furthermore, they used varied music techniques (musical instruments, melodies, or rhythms), and they did not consider a global music education program that takes into account the specific development and identity of autistic children. Further studies are needed to validate and build on these findings. The present study aimed to identify profiles of children’s daily oral communication behaviors in the family environment. A second objective was to determine the effects of a music program on the children’s music perception, expressive language, receptive language, and language use. To do so, we used a mixed research design (pre- and post-tests before and after the program). Three families (N=3) with an ASD child were recruited. Because Alexis (5 years old) was nonverbal, his profile differed significantly from those of the two other children (4 years old), and the three profiles were heterogeneous. Nicky demonstrated very echolalic language, and Julien was a high potential autistic child with hyperlexia and social interaction difficulties. Before and after the music program, each child was assessed with standardized music and language tests. Observation sessions were conducted and interviews were held with parents. After 14 music education sessions, the results showed positive effects on all three children. Nicky improved in musical perception and quantitatively decreased his echolalia. Julien qualitatively developed his social interactions with other children and his narrative memory. Alexis acquired music knowledge, which improved his vocal production, and he increased his vocabulary exponentially. General music ability results were obtained for all the children and all results were collected. Future research directions are proposed.

Full textThis thesis deals with structural changes occurring in public companies that need to restructure their organisation in order to cope with European regulations. The issue of our study examines career management in public companies obliged to restructure. The topic of our research refers to career opportunities as perceived by the employees of such organisation in order to specify how career management has evolved further to the opening of some public markets. This work is composed of three parts. The first one consists of an overview of the literature, the second one deals with research methodology, and the last one highlights the results of this study. This qualitative research is based on two case studies (France Telecom and SNCB), carried out in two different countries (France and Belgium). The results, obtained thanks to three different analyses (thematic, textual and cognitive), underline that restructuring public companies leave slowly behind them the objective model of career management to reach a more individualizing model. The changes are mainly conducted in the "cadres” population and start slowly in the "non cadres” population. Moreover, the access to the "cadres” status is not possible depending on the structure in which they evolve. The employees see changes in their work conditions. Their career is now depending on the following criteria: length of service, willingness of the employee, the hierarchical superior's judgment and the internal promotions opportunities

Full textRichard Wagner's poetic and musical writing involve stakes which cannot be ignored and which enlighten a unique creation the implications of which exceed the simple frame of the opera. However, their revealing can only take place if the melancholy of Wagner is taken into account, and if the confusions which still persist in the apprehension of this psychopathology are abandoned. The current considerations indeed let few hope to the notion of melancholic creativity. Nevertheless, within a particular psychic logic, the Master of Bayreuth chose to create a music which was going to be able to support the being of its subject in a world which was for him totally decadent

Full textThroughout this thesis, the author proposes a reflection on the possibilities to conceive an analytic language appropriate to the music of the maqâm. Indeed, studies on the musical repertoires associated with the maqâm as a musical system suffer from a lack of systematicity. One can notice there the preponderance of a descriptive, historiographical and anthropological work to the detriment of the analytic study that would take, as a starting point, the structures of music. This research paper includes two parts. The first part is devoted to problems of terminology and typology, notably in ethnomusicology. Questions of methodology related to the survey of the musical phenomenon in general are highlighted, as well. It also tackles the semiological aspects of the maqâm being a musical concept that carries a great deal of symbolic value. This first part constitutes a theoretical foundation for the second part that is centered on the analysis of four taqsîms (improvisations) in the nahāwand maqâm. The analysis of these taqsîms is based on a paradigmatic method as well as on the abstract formal and structural diagrams. This analytic approach attempts to discover, in every taqsîms, the systematic elements that have to do with the identity of the maqâm in order to separate them from the imperatives relative to the taqsîm form as well as stylistic parameters. This analytic work ends by a general synthesis that attempts to measure the efficiency of analysis method in question and to put hypotheses concerning the underlying system of the maqâm and the foundations of the taqsîm form

Full textThis exploratory qualitative research analyzes the perception that skilled immigrants have of their employability. Ten Colombian skilled and qualified immigrants established in the city of Quebec were interviewed in order to identify what were the limiting factors and contributing factors that affected their employability, and the strategies they have used to find a job. The discourse analysis of the participant's interviews revealed that the professional expectations are at the center of the project to immigrate. Furthermore, this analysis reveals that despite the obstacles they must overcome to obtain the recognition of their qualifications, skilled immigrants are generally satisfied with the processes to integrate to the job market. Finally, the analysis identifies that skilled immigrants believe certain factors such as personal skills, fluency in the French language and professional field certainly contributed to successfully joining the workforce.

Full textThis research associate immersive digital mobility and interactivemusic composition. We develop an approach to creation that encourages engagement and prolongs the experimentation of an artistic installation in an outdoor public space. We are interested in digital togetherness in mixed reality, where physical and virtual presence overlap and hybridize. Continuing and renewing ancient participatory cultural traditions, our creation, ScnVir offers a virtual scene of mixed reality and interactive design that promotes the emergence of participatory artistic experiences. Our hypothesis is that digital togetherness, through its clues communicated by group agency, favors engagement and extends the experience of a digital art installation. This assumes that the digital togetherness emerges by providing clues associated with this state and that the situated simulation is a technology that makes it possible to materialize such clues within an artistic installation. In order to continue this research, we have established an interdisciplinary research-creation approach including digital art, interaction design and geomatics, which includes conceptual, methodological and artistic objectives. We have determined and validated phases of the digital togetherness (the being-there, the hymersion and the group interaction) and the indices of the digital togetherness in situated simulation (proximity, sociability, the coordination of movements, the success of a mission). For the realization of the project, we designed interactivity based on simple movements using such indices. We have developed a creative methodology and created an artistic work applying the phases of digital togetherness in an artistic installation in situated simulation. To validate our research, we have developed a hybrid methodology combining a quantitative and qualitative analysis approach. The results show that all the participants have reached the first phase of the digital togetherness, the being-there and that all the participants have acceded, at least partially, to the second phase of the digital togetherness, the hymersion. The success of the second phase of digital togetherness validates that our device promotes the commitment of the participants in the experience, because hymersion requires commitment. For the third phase involving group interaction, our results highlight many digital togetherness indices and a mitigate success (28%) for the hidden mission, which allows us to affirm that some forms of digital togetherness have emerged from our installation. However, not all the participants succeeded in the hidden mission that served us as a quantitative validation of the emergence of digital togetherness, because the experimental conditions, the implementation of interaction design and our validation process demonstrate weaknesses. On the other hand, the presence of numerous indices of the digital togetherness attests that the situated simulation is a effective technology to implement the group agency. These results demonstrate that the implementation of digital togetherness within an artistic installation is possible. To achieve this, conditions must be respected: the phases of the digital togetherness must be met; the installation must allow the communication of behavioral indices by the group agency; group interactions must be mediated in the interface by appropriate media content. The observed results establish that our installation offers an experiment of rather long duration and thus favors the prolongation of the experimentation of a device of simple gestural interaction. Thus, our results allow us to affirm that digital togetherness promotes engagement and prolongs participation in a digital art installation in the public space. From an artistic point of view, our creative process is satisfactory because it offers both unpredictable and significant events, connected to the user experience, adapted to musical and artistic expression. The diffusion of our project in a recognized festival validates the interest of our approach of creation for the digital creation. The prospects for artistic development are extraordinary.

Full textHow to analyze jazz ? What are the theoretical problems posed by this exercise ? Is it necessary to propose specific methods or do we need to what has been elaborated by the analysis of written scholar music or ethnomusicology ? The attempt is first made to define what is the work of jazz and the nature of the production process. The important moment is the performance and the work exists for the analysis when it has been recorded. The notions of composition and arrangement are then examined. A couple moment of before - moment of after is proposed for an appropriate analytical approach. Afterwards, the way the work is structured by the analysis and the problem of transcription are studied through concrete examples. In a second part, problems posed by parameters : harmony, rhythm, form, sound and melody are examined. A third part is about method and its applications. After an historical recall of the evolution of the litterature concerning jazz, a protocol for the analysis ot the work of jazz is proposed. At last, for studies by french and american scholars are discussed and seven analysis of works by Gil Evans, Bill Evans, Miles Davis and others are exposed. Conclusion proposes tracks for a coming history of style

Full textThe musical setting of prose texts becomes a current practice in the early-20th-century vocal repertory. On the model of the so called “literary” opera, Prokofiev aims at creating a modern musical drama. Since the 1910’s, he chooses an original method based on the musical setting of his own texts, elaborated from literary sources in narrative prose. This raises a legitimate interrogation on the musical dimension of his lyric work, characterized by the presence of a material that, unlike versified texts, is both rhythmically emancipated and structurally irregular. Prokofiev’s first major project for the theater, The Gambler is the first 20th-century musical setting of a work by Dostoyevsky, of whom the importance was being rediscovered. Dostoyevsky’s novel and the two versions of Prokofiev’s libretto are examined from the point of view of transtextuality, in an attempt to define the nature of the literary source and its composite character after the transformation by the composer in the opera. This analysis is inspired by Gérard Genette’s work on secondary literature. The logically following step of the research is the restitution of the process of elaboration of Dostoyevsky’s text by the composer-librettist aiming at adapting it to the norms of a libretto and to the musical dramaturgy of the planned work. The comparative method applied to two musical versions of The Gambler enlightens the specificity of Prokofiev’s writing and his stylistic evolution, in order to study the interaction of the verbal and musical elements from the points of view of rhythm, structure and intonation. The thesis concludes on a definition of the translinguistic nature of the relationship created in a vocal work between the two elements, textual and musical. The research raises the question of the systematic study of the musical treatment of prose in 20th-century vocal music

Full textAThe objective of this research is to discover how the image of the body and object relation develop, furthermore, the ego development of congenitally blind people. Problematic: two approaches of blindness have been in confrontation. A pessimistic approach making vision the essential of knowledge, linking physical disability and sensory disability; A moderate vision, giving credit to haptic perception. What then about the body image and object relation? Starting with Lederman concepts, Anzieu and Tisseron, we onceived the idea of the gaze - skin. Hypothesis: The gaze - skin would allow, from the multimodal perception a recognition of the body image and the object; - and an access to the metaphor of desire as a relation to the desired object and its prohibition. Method: To get to confirm or disprove this hypothesis we used, the theoretical knowledge of developmental psychoanalysis, and methodologically, the semi-directive interview, and finally the creation of an observable experimental situation that we created because no visual experimentation was possible. The studied population included 20 congenitally blind people aged 18 to 21 years, which has enabled us to understand the state of blindness, and three young men blind from birth, who have been the subject of a case study, and were excluded those who became blind after a period of vision

Full textIn the province of Quebec, classroom teachers and specialist music teachers in primary schools have the same obligations in regards to the mainstreaming of special needs students. To date, no study in the province of Quebec has examined the music education of special needs students in the context of the regular classroom. A literature review of English studies in the field of music education has documented the problems resulting from this phenomenon. Therefore, it appears important to explore the lived experience of specialist music teachers in primary schools in connection with the mainstreaming of special needs students in the regular classroom in the context of the Quebec school system. The objectives of the present research are: 1) to describe in depth the lived experience of specialist music teachers in primary schools in connection with the mainstreaming of special needs students in the regular music classroom; 2) to describe how the main factors known to facilitate mainstreaming manifest themselves in the teachers’ lived experience. In order to explore these objectives, a phenomenological research design grounded in the interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA) approach of Smith, Flowers & Larkin (2009) was chosen. Three in-depth semi-structured interviews were conducted and an interpretative phenomenological analysis of the data was carried out. Eight experiential dimensions common to the lived experience of the three participants resulted from the data analysis. Finally, a gap seems to exist between the main factors known to facilitate mainstreaming in the Quebec literature and participants’ lived experience.

With this work we built a four steps methodological framework : outline research conception, empirical information collection, local knowledge building generic knowledge building and diffusion. In this empirical study, we achieved about sixty interviews, in four stores of a small Company. Moreover, we collected others informations (observations, documents). The interpretation of these gave rise to local knowledge building. Comparing this knowledge with existing theory, we built generic knowledge : - if we adopt a positive attitude toward athers, if organizationar goals are in phase with individual goals, extemal commitment and internal commitment could improve themselves in a recursive loop. Then, it is both interesting for individuals to live positively external commitment and to organization to improve their situation. - The " self " construction generic model built starting from Mead works could study dynamically both internal and external commifment - Dzjgereen between behaviors mutual upected and bemeen behaviors mutual perception could develop negative recursive loop - More individuals could interact in explicit communication, more they could feel recognized, more if could be possible to avoid the development of decommitment recursive loop. Then, we focused on knowledge diffusion. We started to make it use in an example

Full textThe importance of the automotive industry no longer has to be proven. Most of us own at least one car or know someone who owns one. The car is one of the most important singular household expenditures in the province Quebec, second only to housing. Thus, this purchase may involve a certain level of perceived risk for consumers since it is often necessary to pay a large sum of money to buy the car and we have no guarantee as to the reliability of the car, even more so for used cars. The main objectif of this project was to evaluate the influence of searching for information on the Internet on the perceived risk of buying a used car. Structural equations modeling was used to evaluate the relation between these two concepts. The primary results, based on a sample of 353 respondents, show that the more a consumer uses the Internet to search for information, the more he or she perceives a higher level of risk in relation to buying a used-car (ß = 0,176 ; p= 0,009 < 0,05). Furthermore, searching for information through social media also increases the perceived risk in regards to this specific purchase (ß = 0,348 ; p= *** < 0,001). These results raise questions in regards to the usefulness of searching for information on the Internet when looking to purchase a used-car.

Full textThe information system security for which the interest joins in the increasing dependence of companies to them information system and in prospect of increasing number of security incidents. We are interested in the information system risk management, for whom the literature underlines the lack of involvement of top-managers.We approach the concern under the view of the decision of top executives for ISS, through four theoretical streams: the models of the managerial perceptions of IS risks, the risks perception in psychology, the institutional theory and the theory about symbolic adoption of the innovations. The aim is to make intelligible the influences on the symbolic adoption of such ISS approach. We use a qualitative method organized around 17 case studies in companies with varied activities. Our results highlight the relevance to study the ISS according to an individual perspective of risk management. On one hand, the characteristics of the psychological evaluation of the risks enlighten the biases for the management of the information system risk. On the other hand, the study of these biases brings a new perspective on the understanding of the investment of the top executives for the ISS. In particular, we underline the insensitivity of the top managers in the exposure of the risk, a preference to approach the risks under a threats point of view. We expose the influences which contribute to adopt a technical and not managerial ISS such as suggests by the Research. Finally, our analysis brings to the foreground perspectives to extend the comprehension of a reactive ISS, defame by ISS’ academics

Full textAvailable literature suggests that dyslexia is a learning disability that is neither linked to mental retardation, not to sensory disorder nor to deprived social background. The dyslexic child shows a difference of 18 to 24 months between the academic achievement of a reading subject and his or her intellectual potentials as measured by an intelligence scaling (IQ). The child suffers from brain structure dysfunction which impedes his cognitive abilities resulting in wrong word identification. We also know that the diagnosis is based on the evaluation of speech, reading and writing abilities. In our work, we focus on child phonological dyslexia. The latter is mainly characterized by impaired phonological route due to poor development of phonological ability. In reality, dyslexic children have a higher intra-categorical sensitivity rather than an inter-categorical perception. If we accept the idea of coupling between speech production and perception, we can posit the existence of a perturbation in the articulatory realisation of speech produced by dyslexic children which explains both their delayed speech and language disorder. Indeed, speech is governed by a number of phonetic and phonological rules; the variation of a coarticulated phoneme is at the root of difficulty of phoneme discrimination encountered by dyslexic children. This coarticulated phoneme has several allophones. We suggest that the articulatory variability of a single phoneme is the main cause of speech impairment. We performed an analysis of their verbal production in search of the articulatory markers that differ from children with no learning disability. With this in mind, we conducted four studies dealing with different sequences (CV, CVCV, and VCVCV VCVCCV). Tasks included reading words and pseudo-words, aloud and at normal speech rate. The measured parameters studied as regards acoustic cues for stops were VTT, the acoustic silent phase and VOT for voiceless stops; occlusion and VOT for the voiced stops, and duration for flanking vowels. During word identification, analyses reveal that the phonological route may be partially operational for our subjects. They also reveal partial or total word deformation; voicing contrast and place of articulation contrasts were also affected. Note should be taken of the higher measures found in dyslexic children than in normal readers, reflecting a slower gestures in their articulatory realizations due to additional time needed in these children. In addition, these parameters do not often follow a coherent pattern of proportional values relative to the requirements imposed by the characteristics of place of articulation and signal quality. However, we find that word intelligibility could be maintained. This experimental study has demonstrated the link between perception and articulation disorder, and to some extent speech and language production impairment
