Abstract:
ABSTRACT An operational problem involving the loading arms occurred at São Sebastião Oil Terminal of PETROBRAS, located in the Brazilian Southeastern coast, during the oil transference from the tanker to the Terminal, resulting in the spill of approximately 26.0 m3 of crude Marlin-33 oil on 3 June 2003. The spilled bulk oil was transported by wind-driven currents to the north of São Sebastião Channel where skimmer vessels and booms collected the product. In spite of all contingency actions, some of the oil reached a coastal lagoon. The Environmental Monitoring Program, involving sampling a week and four months after the event, included chemical analysis for benzene, toluene, ethybenzene and xylenes (BTEX), petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH), aliphatic compounds (n-alkanes), polycyclic aromatic compounds (PAH), unresolved complex mixtures (UCM) and total organic carbon (TOC); toxicological tests for water using the Microtox system and Lytechinus variegatus embryo test, and for sediment using the Nitokra copepod test; and hydrocarbon detection in mussel tissue, related to local aquaculture. The coastal water PAH concentrations after the spill ranged from 0.14 to 1.92 μg/L in chrysene equivalents. For the lagoon water analysis, the concentrations of PAHs ranged from 1.54 to 9.66 μg/L. The total PAH concentrations in lagoon sediment ranged from 5.6 to 359.2 ng/g with perilene prevalence. The total PAH concentrations in mussel tissue samples ranged below the detection limit to 110.0 ng/g; the aliphatic hydrocarbon concentrations varied between 11.02 to 21.36 μg/g and total n-alkanes between 4.80 to 6.21 μg/g, showing no influence of petroleum hydrocarbons. The toxicity results were not conclusive: by means of acute tests, no toxicity was observed in the lagoon water. However, the chronic tests indicated toxicity in some samples including in the controls located in non-affected places.

According to the law of energy conservation and the second law of Kepler, this paper obtains the spacecraft velocity in perilune and apolune. Based on trajectory inversion thought, this paper obtains position and velocity direction in the perilune and apolune. For the five sub stages of soft landing, this paper discusses the optimal control strategy: establishing optimization model of genetic algorithm for the main deceleration section, the terminal constraint condition is reflected on the fitness function through the penalty function, combined with linear iterative thought, the winner engine thrust and direction angle are obtained. Aiming at the rapid adjustment period, the spacecraft angle change is done equivalent decomposition and discrete linear, so the thrust can be obtained through the angle change provided by adjusting attitude engine and combined with rigid body motion law.

Abstract:
Perillae has attracted an increasing interest of study due to its wide usage for medicine and food. Estimating quality and maturity of a perillae requires the information with respect to its size. At present, measuring and sorting the size of perillae mainly depend on manual work, which is limited by low efficiency and unsatisfied accuracy. To address this issue, in this study, we develop an approach based on the machine vision (MV) technique for online measuring and size sorting. The geometrical model and the corresponding mathematical model are built for perillae and imaging, respectively. Based on the built models, the measuring and size sorting method is proposed, including image binarization, key point determination, information matching, and parameter estimation. Experimental results demonstrate that the average time consumption for a captured image, the average measuring error, the variance of measuring error, and the overall sorting accuracy are 204.175 ms, 1.48 mm, 0.07 mm, and 93%, respectively, implying the feasibility and satisfied accuracy of the proposed approach.

Abstract:

Abstract:
This work presents the synthesis and characterization of novel isoxazolines and isoxazoles derivatives aiming the development of electronic materials field, their derivatization in liquid crystalline polymethacrylates, in tertiary amines and perylene derivatives. Isoxazolines were synthesized by [3+2]1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction between nitrile oxides and alkenes. After this the isoxazolines were oxidized using MnO2 to give isoxazoles 5a-c. The 3-aryl-5-hydroxymethyl-isoxazoles 37a-c were obtained by [3+2]1,3-dipolar cycloaddition between oximoyl chlorides and propagyl alcohol, using CuI as catalyst. Thermal properties of synthesized compounds were analyzed by polarized optic microscopy (POM) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), spectroscopic properties were analyzed by UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy and fluorescence spectroscopy. Present thesis is divided in four chapters. First chapter explains about synthesis and characterization of liquid crystalline polymethacrylates 10a-d and 11, where the mesogenic unity is composed for 3,5-diaryl-isoxazle 7a, which bears an alkyl chain formed by eleven carbons as spacer group between the rigid core and the polymethacrylate chain. In this chapter were evaluated how molar weight (Mn) affects the thermal behaviour and also the thermal behaviour of side chain polymeric liquid crystals (SCPLC) are compared to a main chain polymeric liquid crystal (MCPLC). Results show a higher stability in the mesophase of polymerised compounds, with maintenance of lamellar mesophases showed by the precursors. In the second chapter synthesis of different 3,5-diaryl-isoxazoles (5b, 7b and 7c) is discussed, these isoxazoles were coupled to amines (piperidine, morpholine, diphenylamine and phenothiazine) by Büchwald-Hartwig reaction to afford desired compounds 13a-k. Four amines were tested to study their electronic influence, also two alkyl chains were tested to study the effect in thermal behaviour and processability. The observed photophysical behaviour of compounds 13a-k corroborates with our expectations, based in literature for donating and acceptor groups. In the third chapter the work done in the University of Hull – UK, during the Science without Borders internship, in this work synthesis of perylene derivatives bearing isoxazole group was attempted aiming production of dyes with interesting electronic properties for use in organic photovoltaic materials. The fourth and last chapter discusses synthesis of 3-aryl-5-hydroximethyl-isoxazoles 37a-c via cycloaddition reaction between oximoyl chlorides and propargyl alcohol for synthesise a novel series of low molecular weight liquid crystals, in this chapter is also observed the influence of steric hindrance in regioselectivity of cycloaddition.

The supermolecular arrangement of organic thin films is a factor that infuences both optical and electrical properties of these films and, consequently, the technology, the technological applications involving organic electronics. In this dissertation, thin films of a perylene drivative (bis butylimido perylene, acronym BuPTCD wre produced by physical vapor deposition (PVD) using vacuum thermal evaporation. The aim of this work was to investigate the supramolecular arrangement of BuPTCD films, which implies to control the thickness at nanometer scale and to determine the molecular organization, the morphology (at namo and micrometer scales) and the crystallinity, besides the stability of this arragements as a function of the temperature. Optical properties (such as absorption and emission) and electrical properties (such as conductivity and photoconductivity) were also determined. The UV-Vis absorption spectra revelead a controlled growth (uniform) of the BuPTCD films. Atomic force and optical microscopy images showed a homogeneous surface of the film at nano and micrometer scales, respectively. The X-ray diffraction showed that the BuPTCD powder and PVD film have different crystalline structures, with the BuPTCD molecules head-on oriented in the PVD films, supported on the substrate surface by the side group (FTIR). This structure favors the light emission (photoluminescence) by the formation of excimers. The thermal treatment (200ºC for 10 min) does not affect the molecular organization of the PVD films, showing a thermal stability of the BuPTCD supramolecular arrangement under these cirncumstances. The electrical measuremets (DC) showed a linear increase of the current as a function of the tension, which is characteristic of ohmic behavior. Also, th films exhibited an increase of current by 2 orders of magnitude when exposed to light (photoconductive properties). Finally, BuPTCD films were exposed to vapor of trifluorpacetic acid (TFA)...

Abstract: The supermolecular arrangement of organic thin films is a factor that infuences both optical and electrical properties of these films and, consequently, the technology, the technological applications involving organic electronics.

Abstract:
In the last few years, the design and characterization of novel materials exhibiting high optical nonlinearities is the subject of a fast-growing interest because of their potential application in various fields, from biology to photonics. Two-photon absorption processes, for example, have been used for optical limiting, three-dimensional microfabrication, optical data storage and fluorescence imaging. In this work we investigate the two-photon absorption in organic and organometallic molecules, aiming at the understanding of aspects related to the nonlinear absorption. The two-photon absorption spectra of perylene derivatives, phenyl-diphenylamine derivatives and Platinum Acetylide Complexes were measured using the Z-scan technique with ultrashort pulses. For perylene derivatives, using the white-light continuum Z-scan, we were able to observe subtle structures in nonlinear spectra, which are related to two-photon allowed states in the UV region. Such transitions were confirmed using density functional theory. The two-photon absorption spectrum of Pt-acetylene complexes revealed bands around 600 nm, with relatively high two-photon absorption cross-section in the order of 1000 GM. The broad transparence windows exhibited by these compounds in the visible make them promising candidates for optical limiting devices assisted by two-photon absorption. Finally, the phenyl-biphenylamine samples exhibited a combination between effects from the phenyl-biphenylamine group and the azoaromatic groups, which can be explored in tri-dimensional optical storage devices.

Perillae Fructus、Perillae Caulis、Perillae Folium are traditional medicinal herbs. In previously research, abundant phenolic compounds, triterpenoids, and flavonoids were characterized from the leaf of P. frutescensare. These ingredients have been shown to have antioxidant, anti-aging, and anti-allergic effects. Perilla seeds is an important source of perilla oil. Perilla aldehyde in perilla oil can prevent cardiovascular disease and reduce triglycerides. Perilla stems can help to relieve pregnant discomforts and fetus, and can be used in health foods for improve memory and vision. Perilla leaves are also edible foods with high nutritional value. Perilla leaves, perilla seeds, and perilla stems are three traditional Chinese medicines with different medicinal use. The chemical composition should be different. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to explore the chemical composition of different parts of perilla, and to compare the compositional differences. The results showed that 75% methanol was the best extraction solvent and heating reflux extraction was the best extraction method. The crude extracts of perilla leaves, perilla seeds and perilla stalks were subjected to high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Rosmarinic acid was found as the main chemical component measured at wavelengths 254 and 330 nm in three species. Then, by liquid chromatography-high-resolution mass spectrometry (LC-MS) analysis, nineteen compounds were found from the leaves of the perilla leaves. Among them, thirteen compounds were identified. Twelve compounds were found from the stalks of the perilla, and five compounds were identified. Sixteen compounds were found from the perilla seeds, seven compounds were identified. Rosmarinic acid, apigenin, luteolin, and luteolin-7-glucoside are the same chemical constituents. The main components of perillae seeds are rosmarinic acid, luteolin and apigenin. The main components of perillae stems are rosmarinic acid and trace amounts of caffeic acid. The main components of perilla leaves are rosmarinic acid,luteolin-7-O-diglucuronide,apigenin-7-O-diglucuronide and Luteolin-7-O-glucuronidel.
