Abstract:
The "Financial Behavior" in the field of "decision making" is the topic that awarded the economist Richard H. Thaler the Nobel Prize in 2017. According to him, after many investigations made on human decisions, it is noticed that they often depend on nature, intuition, habits, cognitive biases, emotional biases which lead the investor to wrong decisions. Given that the investments play an important and central role in the economy, the main purpose of the paper is to analyze the investment decision making process based on emotional bias, or more specifically the overconfidence bias. Abstract:
In the present information technology era, the desire for personalized individual websites is notably significant [1]. The creation of such personal websites necessitates proficient knowledge of HTML-based programming, a skill predominantly possessed by professional programmers [2]. As an alternative to this limited option, individuals often resort to purchasing websites from service providers, incurring substantial costs and time investments. In order to address this widespread demand for personalized websites, we propose the implementation of an AI program capable of automatically generating

Steinmann, Peter. Do changes in the pre-licensure education of health workers impact on the supply of health workers? SUPPORT, 2017. http://dx.doi.org/10.30846/170209.

Full text
Abstract:
In many countries there is a shortage of health workers. The high financial and resource investments needed to train health workers make it important to find ways to increase the number of students entering initial health professional training (sometimes referred to as pre-licensure training) and reduce the number of pre-graduation drop-outs. Ways to achieve this include interventions to increase the capacity of health professional training institutions; reduce the loss of students (and increase the likelihood that students will graduate); or increase the recruitment of students from other cou

This paper summarizes and discusses new evidence on the nature, extent, evolution and consequences of financing constraints in Latin America; this evidence is drawn from a recent series of papers. The countries covered are Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico, and Uruguay. All the new contributions share the characteristics of being based on micro data. Most of the data sources are firms balance sheets. For Argentina information on debt contracts and credit history is also available, while for Costa Rica personal information on entrepreneurs was also collected. Some of the papers i

Abstract:
This brief provides an overview and discussion of barriers and drivers for enterprises to adopt circular economy practices. The research involved a literature review, an online survey with enterprises in the Southeast Asian region, and an in-person workshop discussing circular practices with private companies and other circular economy stakeholders. Business leaders and enterprises often understand the benefits of circular economy approaches but lack appropriate support from policy and financial institutions to make the necessary investments towards change.

Review question / Objective: The aim of this scoping review was to examine what is known about the relationship between the resilience and mental health of undergraduate students enrolled in university or college programs globally. Background: For many undergraduate students, higher education acts as a personal investment in preparation for the workforce, while ultimately allowing students to develop cultural capital (Kromydas, 2017). The transition to university or college is also accompanied by important life changes such as moving to a new campus, meeting new people, and increasing self-eff

Evidence from this assessment indicates that, without deliberate support from impact investors, banks and development finance institutions (DFIs), large numbers of agricultural small and medium enterprises (agri-SMEs) will not be able to continue operations following the lockdowns imposed in response to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). The COVID-19 pandemic has had significant negative effects on the operations of agri-SMEs. It has made capital less available, as impact investors and financial institutions take a more cautious approach to extending credit and making investment decisions. S

Abstract:
At TABLE, we select annual themes to guide our work. These are usually concepts that act as fault lines in discussions of food system transformation, and concern what a ‘good’ food future might look like. Through a series of reports, essays, podcasts, events and explainers we consider the concept from many different angles. We hope that the totality of this work helps reveal the range of values, assumptions and evidence that shape stakeholders’ views and illuminates how and why they may disagree. Technology and innovation can mitigate and even prevent the damage caused by floods. A recent review by Kaundinya, Perné and Türkeli (2022) identified three main pathways to flood resilience: First, existing scientific knowledge and technology can be mobilised to create infrastructural innovations which can be either nature-based or non-nature based. The latter is more common and usually takes the form of the construction of dikes, dams and canals that directly reduce the probability of floods occurring. Large infrastructure projects tend to require significant financial and resource investmen
