Abstract:
This paper studies the effect of social learning on political outcomes in a model of informative campaign advertising. Voters' communication network affects parties' incentives to disclose political information, voters' learning about candidates running for office, and polarization of the electoral outcome. In richer communication networks, parties disclose less political information and voters are more likely to possess erroneous beliefs about the characteristics of the candidates. In turn, a richer communication network among voters may lead to political polarization. These results are reinforced when interpersonal communication occurs more frequently among ideologically homogeneous individuals and parties can target political advertising. (JEL D72, D85, M37, Z13)

Abstract:
Stunting is a significant problem that Indonesia must overcome to produce an excellent cognitive and physical development generation. Stunting is a problem in Bireuen Regency, Indonesia, and must be managed because it has long-term impacts on the future generation. According to data from the World Health Organization (WHO), in 2017, Indonesia had the third-highest stunting prevalence rate globally, at 32.6%. Even though the stunting prevalence rate in Indonesia decreased from 37.2% in 2013 to 27.7% in 2018, it is still far from the WHO target of not exceeding 20%. Therefore, the government is making efforts to rates s rate e reduce the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia by issuing The Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia’s President Number 72 the Year 2021 about the acceleration of stunting decrease. Based on the result of a nutrition case study of Indonesia in 2021, Aceh’s stunting rate reached 33,18% until it was included among the seven provinces with the highest stunting cases in Indonesia. One of the regencies in Aceh Province that needs immediate solutions to solve stunting is Bireuen Regency. The purpose of this research was to find out the influence of personal hygiene on stunting occurrence. The study used an analytical, quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach. This method aims to analyse the impact of personal hygiene on stunting occurrence in Pandrah Sub District Bireuen Regency. The sample selection technique in this research was the entire population, namely 62 people. Based on the research conducted in Pandrah Sub District, Bireuen Regency, the research results showed that personal hygiene had a significant influence on stunting occurrence, with a p-value of 0.001 (which is less than the significance level of 0.05). It could be concluded that personal hygiene significantly influences stunting occurrence.

Abstract:
Leadership is perceived as an important asset for every organization. Furthermore, one of the key elements of leadership is the ability to influence others and to influence the decision-making process. One way of influencing decision-making processes uses what is called social influence. This describes the process where leaders are encouraging subordinates to change their behaviour and attitudes, with the intention of achieving certain goals. Traditionally it is perceived that this process happens from top to bottom through directives, but recently scholars have tended to identify it as multidirectional. So, just like leaders influence followers, followers can also influence leaders. One of the multidirectional leadership processes is the concept of Servant Leadership. The servant-leader is servant first. It begins with the natural feeling that one wants to serve, to serve first. Then conscious choice brings one to aspire to lead. That person is sharply different from one who is leader first, perhaps because of the need to assuage an unusual power drive or to acquire material possessions. For such it will be a later choice to serve — after leadership is established. The natural servant, the person who is servant first, is more likely to persevere and refine a particular hypothesis on what serves another’s highest priority needs than is the person who is leader first and who later serves out of promptings of conscience or in conformity with normative expectations.

Abstract:
E-commerce has emerged to be pervasive channel as consumers continue to adopt the use of digitally enabled technologies to make online purchases. In developing nations, digital commerce continues to gain prominence. This study examines the influence of personal values on online consumer purchase. Using the Theory of Human Values and the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2 (UTAUT2), the effects of personal values Self-Direction, Hedonism, Achievement and Security on the constructs in technology adoption (UTAUT2) model were investigated. Data for this study was collected from 424 respondents and analysed using structural equation modeling. The results show that Self-Direction, Security, Achievement and Hedonism influence various constructs in the UTAUT2 model. Notably, Self-Direction, Security and Hedonism influenced Effort Expectancy and Facilitating Conditions. While Achievement and Hedonism influenced Habit. This elucidates the influence of multiple personal values on the consumer’s motivation towards the performance of online shopping, specifically, to master skills needed (Effort Expectancy), obtain support (Facilitating Conditions) and repeat online buying behaviour (Habit). The findings hope to shed insight on the influence of personal values on the consumers’ motivation to use online purchasing; allowing e-commerce managers to improve consumer communication and digital strategies.

Abstract:
This study examined genetic and environmental influences on older women’s personal goals by using data from the Finnish Twin Study on Aging. The interview for the personal goals was completed by 67 monozygotic (MZ) pairs and 75 dizygotic (DZ) pairs. The tetrachoric correlations for personal goals related to health and functioning, close relationships, and independent living were higher in MZ than DZ twins, indicating possible genetic influence. The pattern of tetrachoric correlations for personal goals related to cultural activities, care of others, and physical exercise indicated environmental influence. For goals concerning health and functioning, independent living, and close relationships, additive genetic effect accounted for about half of the individual variation. The rest was the result of a unique environmental effect. Goals concerning physical exercise and care of others showed moderate common environmental effect, while the rest of the variance was the result of a unique environmental effect. Personal goals concerning cultural activities showed unique environmental effects only.

Beginning in 2020, the epidemic spread to the whole world and lead everyone to live in the fear. COVID-19 influences every aspect of people's life such as work and life. When we make plans, we always consider the spreading and cases. In order to avoid the inconvenience to people and reduce the risk of being infected, personal protective equipment plays a major role in protecting people. We are required to wear masks and clean our hands when we enter some shopping malls or transportation. The demand for personal protective equipment dramatically increased as we pay high attention to our health. COVID-19 sped up the industry to meet the huge market demand. We use a case study and analyze data from 3M, creating graphs and tables to show the overall trend. Actually, 3M gained profits from the pandemic from our research. By analyzing, we can learn more about the influence of COVID-19 in a certain industry and further influence people's daily life.

Abstract:
The study aims to identify the factors that influence the purchase decision of life & health insurance in Indonesia and determine how those factors influence. The method used in this study is qualitative method with semi-structured interviews. A total of 17 respondents were interviewed from insurance customers, non-insurance customers, and insurance agents in Bandung City. The result of this study indicates that demographic factors such as income level, assets, educational background, financial dependency, and health status directly influence life & health insurance purchase decisions. Insurance product benefits, price, trust in insurance companies, trust in insurance agents, and perceived value insurance were found to influence life & health purchase decisions too directly. Additionally, multiple factors were found to influence insurance trust. These factors include the insurance company brand, selling practices used by insurance agents, perceived service quality of insurance, and insurance literacy. Furthermore, insurance perceived value was also influenced by other factors such as insurance literacy, culture, and environment. Above all aspects, the insurance agents have direct control over the selling practices, service quality, and insurance literacy that someone experience. This study also proved that insurance agents were responsible for the insurance industry’s bad reputation in Indonesia. This result will equip insurance agents to know their customers better and adjust their selling practices to suit potential customers. Insurance agents are also strictly prohibited from mis-selling insurance products.

Abstract:
This study examined the relationship between banking sector development and personal remittances in Zambia using the vector error correction model (VECM) approach with annual time series secondary data ranging from 1980 to 2014. Literature has found out that the relationship between financial sector development and remittances is fourfold: (1) financial sector development influences remittances inflow into the receiving country, (2) remittances positively influences financial sector development, (3) there is a feedback relationship between financial sector development and remittances inflow and (4) there is no or negligible relationship between the two variables. The study found out that there existed a long run causality relationship running from either banking sector development towards personal remittances or from personal remittances towards banking sector development in Zambia during the period under study. The short run causality from either side to another could not be confirmed in this study. It is against this background that the current study encourages Zambian authorities to stimulate banking sector development in order to increase personal remittances inflow. They should also design sustainable remittances harnessing policies as that will go a long way in as far as promoting banking sector development is concerned.

Abstract:
We propose two models to explain why individuals participate in collective political action—a personal influence model and a collective rationality model. Each model overcomes the free-rider problem posed by conventional rational choice theory and left unresolved in previous research. The models are tested for legal and illegal protest behaviors, using data from a national sample and two samples of protest-prone communities in the Federal Republic of Germany. The personal influence model is supported for both forms of participation, while the collective rationality model is supported for legal protest. We discuss implications of the results for grievance and rational choice theories of collective political action.

Abstract:
Abstract Over the last 5 decades, the state institution census has decreased 85% in the United States. Despite these radical shifts away from institutionalization, people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) continue to struggle to be meaningfully included in the community. For these reasons, the aim of this study was to explore if and how residence type affects attainment of quality of life outcomes of people with IDD in the United States. To do so, we analyzed Personal Outcome Measures® interviews from approximately 1,350 people with IDD. Findings suggest much of what has historically been considered deinstitutionalization of people with IDD is transinstitutionalization, particularly with provider-owned or -operated settings. A systemic overhaul is needed to create an effective community infrastructure.
