Abstract:
A Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) system uses compact, computer-guided vehicles running on dedicated guideways to carry individuals or small groups directly between pairs of stations. PRT vehicles operate on demand, much like conventional taxis. The empty vehicle redistribution (EVR) problem is to decide when and where to move empty PRT vehicles. These decisions are made in real time by an EVR algorithm. A reactive EVR algorithm moves empty vehicles only in response to known requests; in contrast, a proactive EVR algorithm moves empty vehicles in anticipation of future requests. In this thesis, t

This thesis identifies personal sexuality as a significant and crucial site for transformative adult learning. Personal sexuality is shown to be an important adult problematic vital for individual and social transformation. Adult education of the radical/transformative tradition professes to respond to adult learning needs through a process of liberative critical reflection. However, the thesis shows that personal sexuality is an adult learning domain which, in fact, is largely overlooked both in theory and in practice by adult education. The study is cross-disciplinary. In order to fulfill that goal in a super-efficient way, there is a need to provide a total solution which should contain new society scenario, new service design, new business model, and new vehicle. The vehicle adopted in the innovative transportation system is a portable lightweight electric vehicle, or PLEV, which is a two-wheel, lightweight f

While it is easy to share information over the Internet, people have begun to worry about protecting confidential information from being intercepted or tampered with during transmission. A common problem with booking taxies over the phone is that a taxi driver may not be able to accurately locate the passenger upon arrival (or vice versa). In addition, it is often difficult to e

The lightweight analysis process of the PRT structure combines topology optimization analysis and finite element model analysis. The design weight of the body structure is set to be less than 200 kg.The bending stiffness and the torsional stiffness of the body structure are design to be greater than 2000 N/mm and 3500 N.m/deg, respectively. The vehicle can be transformed from a coaxial two-wheeled car into a three-wheeled car by simply pressing a switch, and vice versa. When the car is driven in two-wheeled mode, PID controllers are utilized for velocity, direction, and balancing control. A three-wheeled car is intrinsic stable, but it is possibly to tip over when suddenly decelerated or accelerated. Thus, a simple control algorithm is proposed to prevent the three-wheeled car from tipping over

Tilting control can tilt the vehicle to desire direction, it will expend more tilting torque when vehicle not achieve appropriate tilting angle. In order to reduce tilting power, angle compensator is proposed in this paper. AutoSim is used to establish the nonlinear full car model with the Stephenson six-bar tilting mechanism. Crime-related PTSD is a problem of epidemic proportions. Therapeutic and mental health services for trauma related counselling are limited and in some communities non-existent. It is therefor essential to develop preventative programmes aimed at equipping individuals with the skills to avoid possible trauma-inducing situations such as vehicle hijacking.
