The article shows that the need for cultural activities is aimed directly at the development and self-realization of the individual.   The activities of people related to the satisfaction of their cultural needs are not always identical to the concept of ‘activities that develop the personality’. Often, the use of one or another of its types is not an indicator of the development of the relevant needs.
